Omg..!! Where do i begin? This place was recommended to me by my husband who attended a training in North Sydney.
I love love love the coffee...!! No. 1 in North Sydney..!!
Their ginger tart is to die for.. Hubby who doesnt like tarts loves 'em..
Heard the pies are excellent too..
Bomb pies and sausage rolls!
I ordered mini pies and rolls catering for the office and they were hot, fresh and ready on time! Any catering orders will have to be filled out online and picked up instore.
I especially recommend the Eggplant, chickpea, feta & mint s/roll!
My daughter thinks that the pies are the best in the city. (And believe me she has tried a lot of them.)
The beef pie has a good mixture of veg and beef.
The veg turnover is also very good as is their coffee and belgium chocolate milk.
The store was very cute and service was good. I got a croissant to munch on and the croissant was really nice. I also got a hot chocolate which was good too.
I haven't been to the original which everyone raves about. I couldn't go past the chocolate almond croissant, the best of both worlds in theory. I'm reality I think it wasn't that fresh as it was a bit chewy and dry. The flavor was good however
Well it's not as good as the original , and to be honest I wasn't expecting it to be. I also knew that even a bad Bourke street bakery pork and fennel sausage roll is going to be a good one. And it was far from bad, it was actually quite tasty. I paired it with the salad of the day to create a nice tasty balanced meal. But seriously how good is that sausage roll! Go get one 😊
Needed a bit of an afternoon pick up, so stopped by for a couple of treats. The outlet itself is very small, mostly for takeaways. Got a chocolate tart and a lemon curd tart. The chocolate tart is yum as usual, love the rich chocolate filling. The lemon curd tart was way too tang, the sweetness is really missing, the curd is also a bit runny, not as satisfying as other options.
Discovered there is a Bourke St Bakery down the road from my office, was so excited! The range seems smaller compared to the Surry Hills store. Had a hard time choosing my breakfast item, ended up with a beef pie and flat white. The pie was delicious! Will be back to try other stuff!
Went back for the Ginger creme brûlée tart and it was as good as ever!
Not as good as the original but it satisfies the muffin / donut / tart cravings in the mornings or afternoons. Have never gotten coffee here as other establishments around.
Did stop for lunch here once with their sausage rolls which were good. And in a handy location to pick up last minute desserts to take to a casual mid week dinner at a friends place. Love the lemon tart.

+3.5
When you want somewhere familiar, comforting & you know it will be good, you come here for your favourites. I love their hot chocolate made with real chocolate and my favourite is the pear & rhubarb muffin. I love their croissants & pastries & i wanted to try their fairly new mocha croissant. It was nice with generous amount of chocolate but not enough coffee flavour for me and I still prefer my usual pastries. However, you cant really go wrong whatever you choose, whether sweet or savoury.
Rock up to Bourke Street Bakery, avoiding peak breakfast and lunch times of course, I’m no newb. Swiftly purchase ginger creme brulee tart. Savour the wonderful ginger vanilla custard filling, the sugar crust and flaky pasty shell. One definitely is not enough but I’m not reckless enough to buy more than one for little old me. The recipe for these delicious tarts is publicly available so I could make them myself. Why don’t I? Because they’re an absolute pain in the rectum that’s why. Requiring two days, a thermometer and more patience than could possibly possess to create a dessert so … just take my money gdammit.
Awesome bread
Awesome coffee
Awesome tarts
Still Dreaming of the day they bring back the vanilla and raspberry brûlée tart
Don't pass up their chocolate ganache tarts, sausage rolls and house made pies
Dropping some serious cash is just as easy as you think
When the shop first opened in North Sydney, it dried my snake budget. They have so much to offer and I only have one stomach.
I may just plan to go for a coffee and cannot stop the ordering just at the coffee. I always ended up bring back some pastry, sweets, muffin...
One day I was thinking about ordering something that was not on the shelf, and for a moment i was happy that I can save the calorie intake, soon the waiter told me to hold on for a second and brought it from the kitchen. What can I do? Someone is just lucky with food, not fitness.
So bad, but so tasty.
So I decided to treat that shop as a dangerous zone and stay away from it.
Pastries on point! Tried a range of both their savoury and sweets, these guys know how to make the perfect pastry! Great for lunch to go or some snacks to take home. For first timers I'd recommend their signature ginger brulee tart and sausage roll
Nothing beats a nice warm freshly baked quiche ($5) to kick start your day. Coffees are good too, just be prepared for a little wait as everyone else thinks so too. Open Monday - Fridays only.
Love the fresh bread, sausage rolls with nuts in them for something different, the fresh chicken breast in. The chicken pies. The delish looking sweet baked goods. Coffee yum here too.
Aesthetics count, or do they at @ Bourke St Bakery in North Sydney.Bourke St Bakery is very popular in Surry Hills but has expanded across Sydney. It seems to be consistently rated highly except for Parramatta and Marouba.I ordered a lamb sausage roll from the North Sydney, hole in the wall, Bourke St Bakery and to be honest it was a really ugly roll ($4.5). It looked burnt and not as promising as described "Lamb, Harissa and Almond".  Ultimately it tasted quite nice but I was turned off by aesthetics.Would I go back? Maybe.
If I say pie, you think Four’N Twenty, you need to be schooled by Bourke Street Bakery. Really hearty food, I find their pies the ultimate portable comfort food. This review is really overdue as I've been a big fan of theirs for a few months now. Having been regularly to two branches (Alexandria and North Sydney), the quality is identical and equality yummy. The North Sydney branch is much smaller though and as you would expect the menu is limited compared to Alexandria but my essential favourites are there: Beef Brisket, Red Wine & Mushroom Pie This is my all time favourite and never seems to disappoint. The beef is cooked to perfection, swimming in the rich wine sauce with the occasional mushroom joining the party. Just delicious at $5.50, I would prefer to have this over a Hungry Jack's Stunner Deal anyday. Lamb, Almond & Harrisa Sausage Roll This is the sausage roll made posh. The pastry is delicious and the meat is minced up making it smooth. The twist are the almonds that give it
Did you know Bourke Street Bakery has a shopfront at North Sydney?
Great stuff - welcome addition. If you're familiar with the other Bourke Street Bakeries then you will appreciate this place. Very visible due to its location in the Mount Street Mall - even increasing traffic to the café next door which has added pies from Mick's Bakehouse to try and increase the competition.
Already there are generally queues here although they do move quickly. Very limited seating inside so most will takeaway and eat somewhere else. Sometimes people linger there while waiting for the sambos to be toasted. Best things so far: pork and fennel sausage roll, the ginger brulee tart, strawberry and mascarpone tart. Chorizo and thyme roll I found dry as a bone though. Another good addition for the office workers.
