The new manager has the place working well. The staff are friendly, the food is great, whether in the bar section or the restaurant, and the beers are wonderful. I think Nick from Melbourne was having his own bad day.

Standard pub fare, decent enough selection of beers, usually a different beer special every day. Good space, outside in a booth is a great place for a group to catch up and have a afternoon session. I have had schnitzels, steaks and salads here all reasonably priced!
Went here on a Saturday night. Had the Scotch Fillet. Am a bit fussy as far as my steaks, but i have to say it totally floated my boat. Cooked to perfection. The chips are F**%ing OMG, Id ever just return there for them. Mouth watering as we speak. And if you're gonna go for a sauce to go with it, my pick Pepper gravy. The whole thing as a dish was just what i needed after a big night out with mates the night prior so was feeling a bit worse for wear/needed a bit of comfort food. I will defo be back in for my steak fix in future. Atmosphere there also pretty awesome too.

Good bar food, fast service, friendly staff. What more do you need. Trendy atmosphere, with a good feel. Spicy wings have a good bit of heat, but not enough to blow your head off.
As the seasons change, so do our cravings for different foods. As we move into the colder season through Autumn, I start craving big, warm meals to help me build that bikini body for the summer! It was great timing that Republic have revamped their menu to align to the change in seasons. We headed into the Republic on a recent Friday night to try a few of their menu items. We were provided with a gift voucher that contributed towards the meal. One of the highlights of previous visits to the Republic is their slow roasting rotisserie. Delicious large plates of meat have been a feature, and I was looking forward to tasting a few of their new options.
Located in the trendy suburb of Norwood, Republic is a modern and exciting pub known for having the best outdoor beer garden in Australia. It also has a sleek and stylish interior, great entertainment lineups and a constantly evolving food and beverage offering. As we move into the cooler months, Republic have launched a new Autumn menu. Adelaide Food Central was invited to sample some of those dishes, which were provided free of charge.
Very impressed with this place. We tried the beetroot carpacio by accident. It Rocks!
The beer battered fish was spot on. And i have never had a salad so fresh. I was very surprised. As notmally garden salads are not all that.
But this meal the garden salad was as much a part of it. Lot of care taken.

Last Thursday, The Adelaidian attended the Republic Refresh launch party hosted by event gurus Girl About Town. Now under new management, Republic has refreshed their ever-trendy venue, introducing new additions to both the food and drink menus, and the evolution of “Miss Fridays” – their “sassy” night out. New Manager, Stephen Lee, says “We simply want to be ever-evolving to ensure we remain the modern, exciting pub that we are renowned for…but rest assured that what our patrons have come to know and love about Republic won’t change.”
Republic paired up with Girl About Town last week to host an ‘Eat and Tweet’ night in light of their brand new Spring menu changes. With the introduction of a new Head Chef, Daniel Serafin, the revised menu has been updated to cater for a wider demographic, combining new eccentric ingredients and cooking techniques to create a unique experience for Republic’s diners.
Republic, at Norwood, has a new Head Chef and a new spring menu to match. Chef Daniel Serafin began his career in Adelaide, before moving to a two-hat restaurant in Sydney and then overseas. He’s decided to make Adelaide home again, sharing his vast culinary expertise in this new menu.
The warm weather is upon us and colourful flowers are adding to the lush greenery in our landscapes. Spring is the beginning of many wonderful new things including Republic's new Spring Menu. We were kindly invited to the launch of their new menu with a new head chef. The venue itself is gorgeous with plenty of space, booths and nooks to suit different group sizes. We dined in a private function section near the kitchen with great ambient lights, it was a cosy private area.
The team at Republic are at it again with an exciting new Spring menu that will tantalise the tastebuds. Adelaide Food Central, along with other media and bloggers were invited to the “Spring into Republic” media launch to sample some of the dishes they had to offer. All food and drink were provided free of charge.
I was invited to try out some treats from the menu and it was a treat! My favourite was the Berkshire Pork belly that had gooey fat and the perfect crispy crackling. The Smoked Chicken Terrine was another great treat that had great texture too with a nice salt to the crostini. The Bomb Alaska was a great finish and the Italian meringue was awesome on top!
We had a fantastic meal and experience at this pub. Cool setting, great styling, funky and inviting.
Food in the restaurant was faultless (the only problem was we couldn't fit in dessert as we were so full !). The octopus was great as was the chicken salad and rotisserie lamb and pork. Our kids had squid and burgers which they loved also.
The staff were attentive, friendly and really helpful. We don't normally tip but given the food and the great service we decided to tip !

We had a great time!. So surprised to see such a poor rating on urbanspoon! We went for lunch on Sunday and had a great experience.
Decor is lovely and interesting. It was a lovely setting for a long lazy lunch!
Wine menu is great and the food menu was small but with a good range of options especially for the picky eaters who were with us. The waitress was lovely and accommodating.
There was a large group next to us (20+) and we waited just over half an hour for meals. We barely noticed though and didn't think the wait was that bad - especially compared to other newly renovated places who forget customer service altogether. However, the waitress was so apologetic they brought over complimentary bread and dips during the wait and then when meals were ready, they brought over a bowl of wedges to apologies again.
Meals were good and exactly what you expect for that price and the restaurant. Fresh, tasty and decently sized. Partner said his steak was one of the best he has had in Adelaide. Perfectly cooked and super tender.
Additionally, we used their online booking system which meant we got a $30 discount on the overall receipt!

Better than expected. Two friends and I had lunch at Republic on a Sunday afternoon and it was a great experience. The reviews on urbanspoon are most likely true but nothing could fault the experience me and my friends had. Our entree arrived quickly after we ordered drinks and just as we had settled our lunch orders of fish and chips, pasta and chicken parmigiana arrived promptly and well cooked. The table and bar staff were friendly and efficient and the background music (most likely the 2014 Triple J Hottest 100 mix) was appropriate for the Sunday afternoon crowd. I've heard nothing but positive reviews from friends and this visit was faultless so we will definitely return again.

Better than a pub!. I have to keep reminding myself, this is a pub - so with that in mind, it has some really cool food. Sunday roast was awesome, straight off the spit! And the bar staff attitude is what it should be, nice, polite, friendly and busy. I'll be back.
Modern, classy venue with awesome food. Our experience was very different to previous reviews. The restaurant is fitted out beautifully with modern and bright feel. We were served by helpful staff, who delivered our meals in good time. I had the beef cheeks with button mushrooms and mash potato which was just outstanding. The meat tender, it just fell apart, and the sauce the kind you want to lick your plate clean! Out table of 4 all loved the meals. Fresh sour dough bread with proper butter was on the tables, and the house champagne is Jansz not bad at all!!! The kitchen is open so you can see the rotisserie cooking away and we had no issues with any kitchen noise or staff. A fabulous venue and will be back for meals and a drink at any time. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend after our amazing meal tonight!
Teething problems over!. I have eaten at Republic before and it was ok, we did sent a couple of dishes back the first time as they were not cooked.
This time, wow what a change! It was fantastic! I had the chicken with thyme jus on a bed of lentils and crispy thin bacons and it was beautifully cooked and the jus rich and complimented it perfectly, a friend had beef checks with mash she said were gelatinous and fell apart while another friend had the rotisserie for the day - slow cooked lamb shoulder with I think was a Moroccan carrot salad.
I would certainly recommend if you were not impressed a while ago, give it another try, soooo glad I did!

A pub that doesn't look like every other pub in Adelaide. Nice design. Great range of beers. Not your normal mainstream boring beers and one of the best ciders going around. Miss Molly (grape cider)
Sunday night. Just have to say impressed with my experience last Sunday! In bar and dining, was constantly informed that every time I ordered pints or schooners they're schmiddys, and the food and staff in dining very helpful and attentive! Glass never ran dry! Went back to bar after and just as good service! Constantly checked on and everyone had a permeant smile on their face and were so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back! Thanks republic!

I've visited the Republic a few times since it opened near my place and love it. The staff are all super friendly, the cocktails delicious and the atmosphere vibrant. It's by far one of the best pubs in Adelaide at the moment.
Situated near the ever popular Norwood strip, Republic is a recently renovated pub with a modern, funky vibe. Fresh, clean decor livens up the restaurant and there is a beautiful outdoor area perfect for the warmer months. The menu is moderately small, but with some interesting options and is reasonably priced. A great venue for a casual meal or drinks with friends or family. Semolina crusted squid served with old bay spiced aioli. Confit duck, braised fennel, bacon terrine accompanied by celeriac remoulade and crostini. Braised beef cheeks, lardons button mushrooms, shallots and mashed potato. Potato and leek soup. Outside eating area.
