Always have a good meal at Paparich Nunawading but the staff need a smile a bit, even I say thank you with big smile, he just plain no expression �

Some of the Malaysian dishes are similar to some popular South Indian items. True it's a traditional Malaysian Restaurant chain. But their quality and identity is remarkable. Roti Telur with Curry chicken means combination. Noodles is my favourite South Asian dish. Fried rice noodles were good in taste and flavor. And Nasi Lemak was overwhelming rice dish.
I'm always happy when there's a PappaRich at a shopping centre. It's like I'm going home, or somewhere familiar. Malaysian comfort food at its finest. Get a Teh Tarik, some roti canai with curry chicken, close your eyes and pretend that you're in Kuala Lumpur.

JULY 2018 Food:3.5, Service:0.5=4 Been here before for their wok tossed noodles and love it. Today, I had a drink with my friends and we simple loved this Lychee and black jelly. The place is quite big and easy to find parking after 5.30pm, when Brandsmart is closed. The waitress is really help and funny, we all had a good time here. I will be back again.
This place was recently renovated so will need to return again. Dined here around 4 months ago, always a delight and super busy. I love their drinks especially the black sesame drink!

I was invited to Pappa Rich to check out the recently renovated Nunawading restaurant. This was my first ever visit although I have noticed them all over Melbourne for many years (and indeed the world). The ordering process is very efficient, you fill out the form, press the button and the food will be whisked to your table in quite a speedy manner.
We started with some prawn dumplings, some roti and peanut sauce, a roti canai curry chicken and char koay teow. I loved the dumplings so much I had to get a second serve! The roti was also perfection so deliciously fluffy and not to mention the peanut sauce! Unbelievably yummy and such a generous portion (nothing upsets me more than a tiny satay dipping sauce).
My husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken curry and ordered a second roti to mop up the extra sauces. I was intrigued by many of their beverages, the offering is very extensive and it was quite a difficult choice. In the end I settled on the delicious watermelon juice and the mango mania.
I loved the watermelon as it was just so refreshing but the mango was also interesting with its watermelon balls and textural jelly pieces although a little sweet for me. The menu does mention that they add sugar to this to sweeten the natural fruit but there is also the option to opt out.
We finished with dessert, my husband going for the banana fritter but my interest piqued by the sweet banana roti given how much I had enjoyed the bread earlier. I would liken this to a crepe style dessert and thoroughly recommend trying it. Loved the creamy vanilla ice cream with this too. I would also definitely suggest making a booking as there wasn’t a spare seat in the house!

PappaRich in Nunawading has recently reopened after a renovation So we came in today to check out the new venue and try out the menu.
For those of you unfamiliar with the ordering you write out your order cards with the corresponding menu code and ring the buzzer at your table and the staff are very prompt to come and take your order. Very prompt was a good summary of the staff actually as everything arrived quickly.
To start we had the Roti canai, this delicious flakey roti arrived with a trio of dipping sauces, a curry sauce (with a delicious coconut milk base), a moorish dhal and a spicy sambal. We tore into this bread and dipped like crazy, oh the flavour, unfortunately we made the mistake of sharing this dish, I’ve learnt my lesson, next time I won’t! I want it all to myself.
To quench our thirsts we ordered the Lemon iced tea (sweet) and a Teh c special iced, this tri leveled iced tea was a delight when mixed through.
For mains we ordered the Biryani rice, beef rendang & prawn, the biryani was super fragrant, the smells was enticing. The rendang curry was flavoursome but just a little dry for my tastes while the sambal prawns were a hit.
also had the Papa char kuay teow, it was served piping hot, and had the authentic smokey wok flavour with a nice crunch from the bean shoots.
For dessert we ordered the Roti banana & vanilla ice cream, just because one piece of roti between two earlier was simply not enough! This huge piece of roti was filled with slices of banana which once cooked was gloriously sweet, the banana was a lovely thickness, not too thick and not to thin and paired perfectly with the rich and creamy vanilla ice cream.
I also ordered the Malaysian dessert ABC (ice kacang) the picture in the menu was so striking, I just had to try it. This refreshing concoction reminded me of icy sweetened condensed milk with a hint of Turkish rose. Whilst I enjoyed the grass jelly, the iced texture and the light sweet milk flavour, my wife’s western palate was somewhat challenged but the inclusion of puréed sweet corn and red beans. This dessert is substantial and big enough for two, when you hit the bottom of the dessert you find peanuts and sultanas in the melted mix which is a lovely addition to the dessert

Approximately $50 for two people is enough for a proper meal with a drink for each one in Papparich. Ambiance is good and not crowded. Staff are friendly with prompt service and food serving is big. Food is tasty and filling. Good place to go if really hungry. Drinks are awesome. So far all of the drinks we’ve tried are good especially the soya milk coffee jelly, red beans or any cold drink.
Best pappa rich in town.. friendly staff, consistent taste & quality. We’ve been going here since 2016. They also offer combination/variation if a dish is unavailable.
Located next to Brandsmart shopping complex. It's very convenience to stop for a quick meal after shopping.Nice place to hang out with family and friends also ; the menu options is huge with lots of delicious authentic Malaysians dishes . Seafoods or chicken Curry laksa, Pappa Char Koay Teow are always my fave along side with Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken..yum all delicious.

Satisfied! Had the Nasi lemak, laksa and chicken skin. Overall very nice but laksa was lacking in flavour and spiciness. I would give it a miss. Great self service idea, saves time and energy of staff. Good came super fast and a very enjoyable meal. Well priced as the portions are quite large.
Having been to many Papparich stores, the Nunawading branch is pretty good, serving most dishes at a high, consistent level. I have found the laksa to be the most inconsistent, with the soup sometimes tasting very weak and watered down.
Like all Papparich’s, the menu has a great range of authentic Malaysian dishes in generous serves and decent prices. We particularly love the Wat Tan Hor (egg gravy) noodles, Nasi Goreng, Roti and Teh Tarik.
**Sep18 update - upgrading to 4 as I think they’ve been much more consistent lately and newly renovated interior looks great!
Come here many times. The service is good and the food as well. Fast service. The Roti is always good. Just once try the Hainan Chicken has not much flavor.

Great Malaysian food, in fact it’s actually a simple mistake that was made that has left us singing the praises of the staff and ensure our return.
We ordered the Chinese broccoli- Cooked to perfection

I asked for mild, it was perfect!
My husband ordered the Roti Telur Bawang with curry chicken. The roti was sensational possibly the best we have had and would return for that alone.
The mistake made, we hadn’t dined here before and hadn’t realised their promotion of beer and chicken skin started at 4. We ordered everything on our sheet as requested and asked a lot of questions along the way that they were only too happy to answer.
At one stage we saw the owner talk to our waiter.
He was honest and told him that we had asked questions about the promo and he even let us select the beer.
The service was excellent and food arrived promptly.
The waiter told us on the delivery of our drinks that the promo was actually a happy hour promo but they would do it for us anyway and he hadn’t realised. He was really so nice about it. Obviously we won’t make the same mistake again. But I really liked his integrity of admiring part fault for not telling us prior to order.
Sounds simple, but a combo of great food and service we will definitely be back.
The place is always busy (as all PapaRich restaurants). The service is quick and the staff is friendly. The Roti is great and the chicken is tender and flavorsome.
Authentic Malaysian cuisine with great service.
Slightly more expensive than your typical Asian noodle place, but the Papparich chains is well setup, food are of good quality and generous serving, staff are courteous.
The Fish Fillet Noodles Soup ($19.50) comes with plenty of big pieces of lightly battered rockling fish. Pappa Special Nasi Lemak (16.90) was equally generous with delicious curry chicken and all the frills.

Visibly located by BrandSmart Premium Outlet Centre off Whitehorse Road, this medium size restaurant with a bold light box is a popular haunt for many who crave their Malaysian food fix every once in a while, including myself, no doubt.
Have visited this bustling well managed outlet more than a handful of times and usually patronise other PappaRich outlets, tried many of their dishes, I do find their overall food quite consistent.
Came on a Friday night, it was full house with a stream of customers for dine in and takeouts. We were given a queue number and just waited for 5-10 minutes.
They have a good variety of Malaysian food and drinks which was well prepared and generous in ingredients.
A quick and easy self food & beverage ordering system on table chits and passed to any service staff to key into their system. Our order were served within 10 minutes.
The crispy fried fish fillet with vermicelli in soup was probably one of my favourites, a very hearty filling dish, with soft tofu, preserved vegetables and tomatoes. The crispy deep fried fish fillet with yellow noodles in curry version probably used the same broth as the Curry Laksa with fried eggplant, fried beancurd and tomatoes which was just as tasty.
Staff were polite and helpful. Liked their new loyalty points system using the phone app. Price is on the above average range but well worth for the decent taste and portioning.

Probably the best of all the outlets, very good service, good food, very busy, we always drop by when in the area. Not on the cheaper side though.
It's always a good time at this paparich outlet. Been here a few times and it's always consistent in terms of the quality of the food and service. It's clean and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor. The staff are friendly and attentive.

I had an overall enjoyable time at Papparich in Nunawading. The staff did give smiles but when we first arrived it was hard to get anyone's attention and be seated as they were quite busy. The portion of the soy noodles was great and more generous than usual but the chicken served on the side was extra oily. I liked that the extra noodles came with sauce (something I haven't seen Papparich do as they usually add extra noodles without the sauce).
Service good and food excellent. Very filling. Reasonable prices. Extensive menu. Quick service. I would definitely recommend it and return again
Wondered in on what was a quiet Saturday night - no problem getting a table...
For entrees we had Fried Chicken Skins & Satay Skewers - the skins were crunchy & had a nice texture. Recommend giving these a go for something different! The skewers were somewhat disappointing; the satay sauce was very bland and we felt there wasn't enough chicken per skewer!
Mains: We both had the Dried Curry Egg Noodles with Curry Chicken. A really nice, simple dish with a bit of a kick. The curry is not overpowering but instead adds a nice flavour.
A nice place if you want to go for a simple, Malaysian meal with a very casual vibe. No table service.
We go here all the time because it's down the road from our office. The food is good but I think it's too pricey and the portion is too big. We stopped going for quite awhile because it's very oily.
PappaRich has many modern restaurants in various locations across Melbourne. We love PappaRich's 'doorbell concept.' PappaRich gives a revolutionary dining experience; writing your own order and pressing the button for order to be collected or any service or assistance you require. We find this fantastic as it means staff do not bother you asking if your ready to order, and increases efficiency of the restaurant as it means staff can focus on serving people who need assistance exactly when they need it, speeding up the process. The staff are very friendly and service is always quick. The food is fresh and delicious, we have never had a bad meal here.
TIP: Do try the Nasi Goreng- our favourite. Don't forget to order some Roti or Deep Fried Chicken Skin!
I have been to different Papparich outlets in Melbourne CBD, Chadstone and Doncaster. However, its my first time in Papparich nunawading. Overall, this Papparich outlet serves better quality food, slightly bigger in portion and better customer service.

Delicious! We quite enjoyed the venue in Nunawading. Not as busy as other PappaRich restaurants. No queuing.
Seafood laksa was a Mozart symphony of yummy flavours textures!

This 15 November 2015 trip to Paparich Nunawading is probably my third. Went there with family. Enjoyed the char kwei teow, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Beef Satay, Char Ho Fan, Roti Chanai and Ais Batu Kacang (shaved ice with sweet syrup toppings). The decor is attractive, service was great and queuing up to pay your bills was quick. I was happy to chip in a substantial tip.
Inconsistencies in serving sizes. A group of us ordered the Char Kway Teow and 2 plates were huge servings while the other 3 were considerably much smaller. Yet we were told that they were all standard serves. Something must be wrong with all our eyesight????
Food is very reasonably priced and tastes great. I always find service to be good also. Whenever we go to BrandSmart we tend to enjoy a meal here. Would recommend.
The deep fried chicken skin is a sinful but delicious dish. The roti with curry chicken dish is another dish worth trying as well. Good place overall.
MissyNess was lucky enough to be invited by PappaRich to have private dining session with Masterchef season 1 runner up Poh. She is my mum and my all time favourite Masterchef. Mum ecstatic when she found out. Poh is the very first ambassador for Papparich Australia so it was a real privilege to be there. I have a Malaysian mummy so she had always loved the idea of someone taking Malaysian cooking to the next level and showing the world how delicious it is, like how she showed my sister and I, as we grew up.

This past weekend I had the privilege to have an intimate lunch with season one of Australia's Masterchef runner up, Poh Ling Yeow. Thank you PappaRich for hosting this up close and personal meetup. Poh is the ambassador for PappaRich and she has been helping out in the launch of PappaRich's new outlets in various parts of Australia. At present, PappaRich has 16 outlets throughout Australia, and 70 in Malaysia, which counts as an impressive achievement considering that they have only been around since 2005.
Wow this Place is great!..We went in to celebrate my birthday and were glad we did. All the food served was fantastic. Even though you have to fill out the order by yourself they missed out on one the item but were very quick to serve it once we informed them. if you want to have a good family dinner then this the place to go! My hubby is not a great fan of Asian food but he liked the food here and that says heaps!
It's pretty good!. This so far is my favourite papa rich. Its light filled, food is good and service is not bad. Don't get cocky. Stay humble. Drive from wheelers hill to this or chadstone - any papa rich is better than glen waverley!
Amazing roti and other good food. We come here regularly and find the food really good. Especially the roti, beef rendang and the different chicken curry offerings. Our daughter loves the chicken skewers. We have taken friends who grew up in Malaysia and also vegetarian friends and they have all enjoyed it. Service is cursory but generally efficient. I am sure it would annoy some people to write out their own order and ring for service but we quite enjoy it. This is certainly not a special occasion place but really good for a quick and delicious meal.
Malaysian muddle.... Once you work out how to fill out the order form -after struggling to understand the dishes ( a vegetarian sweet and sour chicken dish?) we were pleasantly surprised to have our dishes served quickly with authentic flavors and accompaniments...The sizes are bountiful and the roti chanai the best in our local area...light ,flaky and very,very hot...Excellent choice for a local cheap and cheerful meal....
Pappa yum!. Malaysian food is my favourite cuisine and Pappa Rich continues to the best consistent place in Melbourne for cheap and cheerful Malaysian. Love the doorbell service too! Staff were prompt in our requests. My favourite is the roti and curry and teh tarik drinks.
Good times. Been here a few times and have always walked away feeling content. Good quality, cheap food. The service is quicka nd I love the ordering system and pressing the button to get the waiter. It's always busy, so I guess I'm no the only one who thinks it's good. Try the Mee Goreng. Delish!

Fast, Cheap & Tasty!. I love Malaysian food, having lived in Malaysia as a student. This is real style Malaysian food in a friendly, clean, modern environment which I prefer to some of the other older places you can get good quality Malaysian food in the area.
As most components are cooked in advance service is incredibly fast and simple, just fill out a piece of paper on the table with your drinks and dishes and they will be marked off on the bill as they arrive - easy to keep track of what you are spending. That said, it is cheap for the quality of the food and the facility.
Meals are between $10 and $15 in general.
Definitely worth giving it a try.
