We came out to Orange for a long weekend visit to unwind and visit some wineries. We stayed 15 minutes out of town on a farm.
We stuffed up our dinner plans one night and decided to go into town and have and old school Chinese meal.
We absolutely loved the premises, the décor, the food was absolutely superb and the service from the staff rivalled all the Michelin star places we’ve been to around the world. Too often these days the staff don’t check on the guest or ask if the food is to their liking, it was pleasant to be asked and checked on throughout the meal which seems to not happen anymore unless you are spending over $500.
I strongly disagree with a lot of the other reviews for this place, I live a stones throw away from China Town in Sydney and although some of the best and most authentic Chinese food can be found right where I live, my wife and I are unable to find what we call “old school Australian Chinese food”. This style of food seems to have disappeared from most parts of Sydney decades ago.
On the menu they had more traditional Chinese dishes, but as soon as we saw the photos of some of the more “westernised” dishes online, we knew we had to come here to try the old favourites like the crispy beef, lemon chicken and satay chicken. Absolutely superb, it was exactly what we were hoping for, quite literally some of the best “Australian Chinese dishes” we’ve had in years.
From the welcome door bell to the fake fish in the fish tank, to the dishes that held the food to the cook and the wait staff, my wife and I absolutely loved it all, there was nothing we could fault.
Every time we go past or to Orange, we will definitely make a detour to the New Golden Bowl Chinese Restaurant every time.
I wish you the best success as this place deserves it.
Was such a cool quirky atmosphere. Definitely a cool talking point and every kid who walked in loved the piano walkway. The food was great and served in the coolest dishes. Would definitely visit again

This is one unique place for sure! It's like a dollar shop exploded in here and they decided to turn it into a quirky Chinese restaurant. My friends and I were quite overwhelmed at first, but actually enjoyed ourselves. Loved walking on the piano mat and the doorbell that says ''you're welcome' every time someone walks in or out. Loved the dishes shaped like a cow, a pig, a shellfish, a chicken and most of all the guard dog wine holder haha! The food was alight, the service was lovely, so a great experience overall. Take-away seems to be the mainstay, but I urge the people of Orange to come and dine here. It's an experience you won't forget lol!
Dining here was possibly the best decision I have ever made. First of all, the food was excellent and the staff were lovely. The vibes were off the chart. Forget Disneyland, this is wear dreams are made. I was already in a good mood but this restaurantlifted my spirits even higher. Everything about my experiencewas positivelydelightful.
The atmosphere was everything I didn't know I needed. It filled me with joy and I left sexier than I came.
