Ordered an acai bowl from Ubereats. It was a tasty bowl and with a nice dollop of peanut butter. I would have liked a little more fruit and for the acai smoothie to be a little more thick. Otherwise I enjoyed it.
I love this cafe! Amazing coffee and service. I’m a fan of the food also, everything is fresh and made to order. If your local, make platform one your go to. Enjoy
Spring has sprung in Ormond, and isn’t it wonderful when a café offers the option of a fully vegan dishes, without comprising flavour?
I’m all about the Super Salad life for brunch, and when a café can substitute the much loved pulled pork with slow cooked pulled jackfruit, its happy days for those of us who lean towards the ethical dining side of life.
The fact that its also gluten free is a happy dance moment for this hunter.

I enjoyed brunch here over the weekend and just loved my experience. The service was lovely and warm, the interior (especially that pink brunch sign) was gorgeous and the dishes were delicious.
What we ordered:
Wonder Vegan
This is such a delicious dish. They absolutely pack it full of avo, mushrooms, vegan cheese, olives and kale. All of the components worked perfectly and I was very impressed by the serving size and the presentation.
Sweet life of pancakes
The pancakes were sweet and fluffy with a very generous topping of ice cream. Huge compliments to the chef on these! These were the first thing to disappear. I normally leave sweet things to the end but I couldn't put these down.
Middle Eastern Big Plate
The name is very fitting! Wow what a serving. This had falafel, halloumi, fried eggs.. you name it! The eggs were cooked perfectly and I loved the touch of hummus!
We also enjoyed a chai latte and a Funky Monkey smoothie which were great.
Overall, I took a VERY picky eater with me to visit and heard not ONE single complaint for the first time ever. I think that speaks for itself. See you again soon!
What a beautiful and warm cafe. The ladies here are so friendly and the quality of service is amazing!!! It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat out the front to enjoy our delicious brunch! ☀️
The food was so amazing, fresh and filling. We had the açai bowl 🍓 filled with fresh seasonal fruit and house baked granola, the sweet life of pancakes 🥞 which were omg to dieeeee forrrrr so fluffy with toasted coconut and berries, and the superfood salad 🥗 which was full of veggies and goodness.
Definitely put this one on your brunch list!!! Was such a lovely brunch experience with delicious food and amazing service, I’ll be back for sure! 😍❤️

We had visited Platform 1 for lunch and here’s what we had!
Corn and pumpkin fritters - smashed avocado, grilled haloumi, tomato salsa, rocket, a poached egg and sour cream! The fritters were super crispy and every element that went with it was yummy! The tanginess of the salsa, saltiness of the grilled haloumi and richness of the smashed avocado - all yummy flavors!
French toast - challah bread topped with lime mascarpone and sweet almond dukkah and maple served with bananas and strawberries! The french toast was soft, fluffy and sweet (very good for a sweet tooth like me)! the lime mascarpone was a great addition to give the sweetness a kick!
Mama’s famous curry - chicken curry served with saffron rice, garlic naan bread and side salad! It’s rare to find a cafe that sells curry let alone taste super yummy! The best part about this dish was how yummy and rich the chicken curry was (not overly spicy) and how well it went together with the saffron rice! It really tasted like mama’s homemade cooking! Another highlight was how they provided salsa as the side salad to give the dish an extra kick! It was fun dipping in the garlic naan as well!
Overall we had a great experience at Platform 1 and will be interested to visit again to try the rest of their dishes!
I enjoyed these perfectly poached eggs and tomato chutney w/ a freshly brewed chai and it was soooo good! Sometimes less is more and simple food always do it for me! Let the beautiful!
Platform one is situated in the Ormond strip of shops on North Rd, near the station. Very accessible and a great spot for a feed.

YUM YUM YUM 🍴😍 Where do I begin?! This café was absolutely amazing. The coffee and smoothie was delicious, the french toast was amazing, the curry was unbelievable and the fritters hit the spot 🙏🏽 These guys know what they are doing!!! Not to mention, the staff are absolutely lovely - we will be back!!
Lovely little family owned cafe in the heart of Ormond. Friendly team and a cosy space. The menu is a nice mix of brunch favourites and dishes that embrace the owners Indian heritage.
Make sure you try mum’s chicken curry on one of your visits, it’s everything a home made curry should be full of fragrant herbs and spices. The pancakes are probably their most photogenic dish and they’re a lot of food. They’re quite a sweet option, and they change them frequently so there’s always a new take on them to enjoy.

I enjoyed a lovely brunch here with some fellow foodies over the weekend.
The exterior and interior is a little bit retro, but also very cute and welcoming. I loved the Brunch neon sign!

Funky monkey: This was packed with peanut putter, both inside the cute tiki glass and outside the rim too which I loved!

Superfood salad + grilled chicken: I let my friend enjoy this dish and didn't try any
The service was beautiful, with the owner & staff being so warm and friendly. I love how it's a family run business, supported by the local community.
One of the hidden gems in Ormond, love the coffee hear. Was at the cafe for brunch, ordered the Moroccan Chicken Burger, its wholesome, delicious and mildly spiced. Was a hot day, had the pineapple mint cold pressed juice, was really refreshing.....a must try cafe if in the suburb...
Two of us came to Platform 1 Cafe on a Tuesday morning for brunch. We ordered chai latte and iced chocolate for drinks, and then the Benny Bagel and the Soulful Breakfast for food. The customer service was very good, and the waiters were attentive to our table. The food were generous portions and very delicious. Thank you to Platform 1!
Went in for the first time last week and ordered the Veggie stack. Best cafe style breakfast I’ve had. Super friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

You could easily miss it walking past but worth visiting.
Excellent coffee, and scrumptious chocolate & raspberry muffin!! So much so that I had the leave a review - crunchy top with tangy raspberry, gooey chocolate and moist inside…it’s heavenly. A perfect muffin is a must have for a perfect cafe! (They also do stunning brunches too - just look at the review below.) Overall a great, friendly local business.

Our first visit and it was delightful! The interior is very clean and welcoming. Staff is super friendly and helpful The menu is extensive and with huge variety. There are plenty full vegetarian and vegan options. The coffee and smoothie were both great. The food was very enjoyable and presented with great attention to detail. Left with a big smile on our faces and look forward to another brunch there soon.
This place is great. 3 of us were there on Sun 08/05 at 9.30am. If you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten free , have food intolerances and are lucky to eat anything you like this place has great choices for all. The caucasian man with brow piercing who helped me order(food intolerances) asked the right questions. I had the superfood salad (vegan option), hubby had the veggie stack and our son who's a difficult eater loved the kids french toast. It was delicious and different with great recommendations. Go there :)
