Kuma was in Coopers Plains, which was relatively near, but has moved to Hope Island. Still very much worth the trip - in fact better - the new premises have a lovely view to the river, have been nicely decorated, and are more spacious - one of the other benefits, is the kitchen is now "in the round", so you can watch, and chat with Kuma, as he does his Magic in the Kitchen. Words cannot describe Kuma's Cooking - you need to experience it. And possibly the best way is to leave the creativity up to him - Tell him what "heat you like", and whether it's Chicken, Veg, Lamb or Beef, and leave the rest to him.

As soon as you smell Kuma's cooking you know it's going to be beautiful and it doesn't disappoint! Absolutely incredible food and beautiful service. Go out of your way to try this restaurant! The free rice with every meal is aromatic and soft, the Naan is perfectly cooked and the meat is ALWAYS beautiful and tender.

Seriously authentic Indian food with the best personal service you can ever imagine. The owner runs the kitchen, takes order, serve the customers all by himself and he is so committed to making sure his customers gets the best result ever. We received extra curry and naan out of his generosity, and he even lend us his restaurant cutlery and plates as we were staying in a hotel near by. Food was tasty and serving size as expected. Highly recommended for anyone to come and experience what this little Indian restaurant brings to your food journey.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Kuma’s. I like that when you walk in he explained the situation, there’s no menu just sit and wait, bring all the booze you want and when he can he comes over to serve you. The food was fantastic and because we were patient he kept bringing more dishes than we knew what to do with. We ended up talking with Kuma for almost an hour as we enjoyed his delicious food. What a chef and a character, go there if you want a wonderful unique evening. Thanks Kuma!

The owner was also the chef, he was very polite and looked after us. He only doing a $25 per head menu but we could choose the meat and spice strength. My wife is vegetarian so he catered for her so all in all it was a pleasant night.

Sad day when Kuma's closed. Always a brilliant meal, and everyone felt like family. "After 24 years of service, we have made the tough decision to permanently close our doors from tonite (6 March 2022). Thank you to all our lovely customers who have supported us through the years. In Kuma fashion we decided to go out with a bang, were we have prepared and donated over 300 curries, rice and naans to flood affected victims in Ipswich and Brisbane."

What a fantastic little friendly restaurant. You could not ask for a better Indian meal. The owner chef is into his last 5 months at this place as his rent has sky-rocketed by a substantial amount, as well as coping with COVID19and a very sick wife, who was his working partner. Make a booking and help this business survive. If you have a vacant shop suitable for great Indian quiziene, for a reasonable rent give the owner a ring.

Authentic Indian Restaurant - GREAT customer Service*. Had family over from the UK and they Love their Curry’s and were well pleased* 😄 limited menu (don’t have all the Indian dishes eg Tandoori chicken etc) which is not a biggy but the Curries are really good* (we had Vegetarian, Chicken and beef dishes all very good) BYO * 👍🏻 Location is close to the park and river so relaxed and comfortable atmosphere*. Thanks again

The food was delicious and the owner was so nice. He gave us lots of different curries to try and even gave us some rice to take home. Was very generous and we would definitely come back for the yummy food!

Really love the infectious energy of Mr Kuma. The chicken can be a bit sweet but the chicken is always tender and delicious. This place is great value for money and I really enjoy coming here. The restaurant itself is super clean and the staff have always been friendly.
