My visit to Anthropology was an overall lovely experience. Started with a delightful Almond latte and then chose the Smashed Avo to get my brunch game going. It was served up with flavoursome mushies and beetroot hummus. Staff were attentive and great to have a chat with and the cafe space was clean.

Being on Zomato Gold at the moment makes it even a easier decision to go and brunch here!

One of the more unique brunch places we have been to, expect some fresh, good quality and wholesome light food at Anthropology Speciality Coffee and Concept store.

We ordered today a hazelnut hot chocolate which tasted like Nutella, as well as a dirty chai which had a nice chai kick to it- a little more impacting than others which is a good thing. We also opted for the chilli scramble and the avo smash with two (2) poached eggs.

Chilli scramble was good, with the chorizos stealing the show. The avocado smash was one of the best avocados we've had whilst the mushrooms and beetroot smear was a good touch.

To describe this food it would be one word- clean. You don't feel heavy after eating it, and it has naturally rich ingredients that hit the spot. Good brunch in our books!

Was attracted by the photos, rating, and creative menu. Did not disappoint at all! To top it off, the owner is super friendly and attentive. Totally deserve a visit if you are around the area or looking something a bit different.

Anthropology is the branch of science that studies humans, human behaviours and societies in the past and present! And today I certainly decided to that it was about time to grab pen (aka a spoon) and with the help of a very professional note book (a car 😂), I went to study the situation and the people at Anthropology Co 🔍 oh wait, I mean the food 🤭😍😂

Eva and Omar have created a menu that is just a massive endless pun and so charismatic 👌 and obviously I had to pay them a visit and try some of their menu items!

The place is located near the airport, and while far for the city, but surprisingly accessible and fast to reach by car! The place is located in a street that has quite a few movement and we found parking quite easily. They have some outdoor seats covered and with heaters close by, and their entry leads on to a small yet cosy room where you’re first impression is definitely: WOW.

I seriously don’t know how they manage to fit it so many tables and seats but it can definitely take more than what it looks like and tou don’t feel like lacking space at all. A funny thing to notice is that this place must be heaven during winter! They have an oven inside the venue, that seems to be quite powerful and that heats the whole area quite significantly! It was actually quite hot that day and that extra heat wasn’t really necessary but it wasn’t unpleasant either.

I was told that was because of some construction/building issues, and while it can as I would assume get too hot during very hot summer days, during winter this is basically the best idea of all times!

They have plants inside, bookshelves and some other decorations like beautiful white feathers and the counter on the left side is just packed with goodies and the most unimaginable cakes. One thing that I absolutely loved about this place from the start is how willing and passionate they are about sharing their collaborations with other brands and their stockers. That shows how selfless they are and how they are passionate about that they choose to represent.

After going through their menu, here’s what we decided to have:

- Robert Brownie Jr - it’s their chocolate brownie hotcakes and they must have been the rockets pancakes I’ve ever had in my life! Seriously that height is not only impressive but the actual thickness and density of the pancakes is outstanding! I can tell that they make their own dough and that they try to make it as chocolatey as possible and as feeling as one would want to have. The chocolate taste is quite intense but not too overwhelming and I definitely think they thought this through very well because the ice cream on top (that is actually hidden by some fairy floss) is definitely necessary here to create the perfect balance with the dry component of the pancakes! They use vanilla bean ice cream and some yellow Persian fairy floss that isn’t too sweet and blends very nicely with the chocolate. I also felt that it sure needed a little more icecream and they kindly provided that so don’t be afraid to ask for an extra scoop and it was immensely appreciated! I sure think that because of the massive size of the pancakes and the thickness, having two standard ice cream scoops even though the serving of the icecream is relatively large would be a great idea! 👌👍 it also came very nicely presented and w/ dried raspberry sprinkles and flowers and some chocolate syrup which had an incredible taste but unfortunately it was a little bit too thick to get that drip 😂 I will also make a note is that the chocolate they use is quite intense in terms of flavour, especially for the topping, and I would undoubtably recommend to pour it on top and blend it with the ice cream because that creates just the perfect meal - a dream! Great ingredients amazing mouth drooling presentation and the most decadent taste 🥳

- Cool Summer Birch - this was not only beautifully presented but the actual taste of their combo of ingredients used is just incredibly well achieved 👏👏👏 as any other bircher the taste isn’t very sweet and I found that they used some kind of vegetables (maybe zucchini?) which made things quite interesting! Basically this is a mango & raspberry bircher that comes with a pistachio crumble, that gives and incredible taste to it, very peculiar and slightly favouring a nutty flavour and comes topped with the most impressive colours. They use fresh mango cut into pieces and many pomegranates that I absolutely loved 👏 it also has a generous layer of coconut yoghurt and that I personally have never been a fan but most say it paired very nice with the bircher and once you mix the fruit toppings with some of the bircher with it, you have a winner combo 👌 I think that the only thing I would personally add to this would be having a side of maple syrup to have the option of bringing more sweetness to the meal!

- When Chilli Met Chorizo - my friend had this meal and to be honest he was slightly disappointed with the main ingredient of the dish due to the salt and spicy content of it. It came with a great presentation and a significant amount of Chilli scrambled eggs that looked impressive but beware that even though my friend enjoys spicy food, he found this too much and had to take part of the chilli (and even that, he slightly struggled to eat it). The beef chorizo it came with it was in his opinion way too salty and he even left it on the side because it was too much. I personally didn’t try it but I would suggest obviously trying to reduce the amount of salt while cooking the chorizo if possible (or if it is premade, try to find if it is too salty indeed and consider other alternatives?) and with the chilli that would be even easier to solve - just add less chilli on top or while cooking the eggs and have the alternative of a side of chilli for those that can handle the heat ☺️ just my friendly suggestion for a more pleasant option suitable for everyone (because I wouldn’t never ask for a meal like that just for the spicy level for instance). It also came with pieces of feta, fresh herbs & more chilli on top and it was served on two average size pieces of sourdough toast, crunchy and nicely laid out.

- Beetroot Almond Latte - absolutely loved the taste and how well executed it was. I actually was told that they did their own hazelnut milk too and I personally wanted to give it a go but they advised to have the beetroot latte with almond to balance the taste more (and that’s actually why I always pick almond with beetroot 😂) and o have to say this was incredible and with no earthy taste at all. It was nourishing and the taste and presentation were on point 👏 very well done!

- Iced Latte & Iced Almond Latte - it was quite a hot day indeed and I’m not even one to go for iced lattes but it was certainly needed! I asked for an almond one and my friend had a milk based one and it was delicious and refreshing! I think I wouldn’t have personally have enjoyed it more with an actual scoop of icecream on top too and although I didn’t ask for it I will make that call next time 😂 *mental note done* ✅😂

- Vegan Chocolate & Marshmallow Cookie - we obviously had to try some of their cakes and goodies that were so nicely displayed on the counter and next to the kitchen area and we were advised there were quite interesting! They sure looked so! These were some vegan cookies from Nine Bakery and Patisserie, and they are somewhat a jumbo cookie, bigger than your average cookie. They look quite gooey and moist and I was actually expecting it to be more sweet but it’s definitely not that sweet! It has chocolate pieces and chunks and some marshmallows inside and the dough part is soft but not as gooey as expected, but still enjoyable. I would recommend if you are a cookie lover and don’t enjoy sweets that are too sweet - this is definitely your cookie! The cupcakes they had next to it sure looked impressive too and to be honest I think that looking back I would have rather have asked for one of those! But hey, I can always have an excuse to go back now then 😂🤭

- Vegan Marydee Foodie Snickers Bar - on the contrary, this surpassed the expectations and while in terms of looks it doesn’t look that impressive compared to the cookie, the taste is just INSANE. Again, not overly sweet, this cake was from Marydee and they had quite a display of them in the counter, of different types and flavours. This was recommend by the staff and WOW 👏 this is called Snickerella and it comes with a layers of tempered chocolate base, raw “nougat” layer, gooey caramel layer, roasted peanuts and a decadent chocolate ganache layer. Then it’s topped with a peanut praline, mini Snickerellas, piped whipped ganache & mini salted chocolate peanut bars and OMG OMG OMG. Please try this and don’t share it 👌😂🤭

So after all of that, what were my little scientist final conclusions? 🤗

🌍 Good coffee and good food unites people in ways we’d never known possible in the past 👏 and when in doubt, always ask for an extra meal and to share! (And always dessert 👌😂)

〽️ Picasso might be great but that drawing that your 3 year old son/daughter/tiny family member human did is so much more valuable than anything ❤️ and so is replanting plants that are just sitting at the cafe/home for charity like these guys do

🎉 You can always learn something by trying something new, and instead of being at home comfortable (*cough, cough* lazy 🙃) or asking for the same old meals that you usually have, let this place transform your vision towards life 🤩

But maybe I’m not making myself very clear. Let’s try this again: THICK VEGAN CHOCOLATE BROWNIE PANCAKES 🤭 I rest my case. LOVED THE PLACE AND THE SERVICE! Felt at home and very welcomed, like I could see that everyone else was, while enjoying their brunch next to me. And cannot wait to visit again and see what they come up with next! ❤️

We wanted to try to Shakshuka after reading the positive reviews here and it's something we haven't had before. We came all the way out here to try this dish but was told it is no longer on the menu because they now have a new chef. Also, they don't serve pork here but not sure if they are certified 'Halal'. This cafe has very interesting menu with funny descriptions to describe the food which is quite amusing. Food options and seating are very limited in this tiny cafe. We had the vegan jackfruit sandwich that supposedly to taste like pulled pork, maple beef bacon and egg sandwich, long black and the pina colada smoothies. All the food taste yummy and service was very friendly and on point. The staff also offered to play our choice of music!

I absolutely loved this cafe! My breakfast bowl ‘Because Plates Are Overrated’ was absolutely out of this world! It was so full of flavour and the egg was cooked to perfection.

My friend had the ‘Vegan Sloppy Joe’ and there was definitely not complaints coming from her!

We finished off by sharing the Moka Chocolate Yaya which is also a vegan option and is seriously what dreams are made of! So incredibly delicious!

Make sure while you are there you also give their raw treats a try. This one photographed in the Snickers Bar equivalent. I also took home a gluten and dairy free bounty bar for later...why not!

Looking forward to heading back to visit this awesome staff!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Anthropology :) First of all the décor is just beautiful. Love the WHITE + beautiful GREEN plants all over the place.

The team is SO lovely and friendly. So warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable about the menu too.

I was impressed to see many vegan options, including CHOCOLATE WAFFLES which we DEF ordered. They were absolutely scrumptious. I also tried the PULLED JACKFRUIT SANGA which was so juicy and delish! Oh plus, we tried a raw vegan snickers dessert which was to die for, seriously. The coffee was great too with Oatly oat milk.

You really need to visit this café! Even though it is not so close to where I live I will definitely be back! Thanks team!

Smashed avo was not great. Too much acid in the avo. Chilli scrambled was lovely. Very spicy and just the way i like it. The hot chocolate was not overly sweet and just the way i like it. The beetroot latte was not my thing. I am looking forward to coming back to try the waffle and the matcha latte

Such a pretty little cafe with a light and airy decor and fabulous, friendly staff. The vibe here instantly puts you at ease, and it's easy to hang out here for hours.

The coffee is brilliantly good, and there is an interesting and varied menu. On my latest visit I had some cakes from the generous display, and they were fresh and tasty. The perfect sweet treat for a mid afternoon pit stop. Anthropology have filled a niche in this area that delivers great coffee and food with a fabulous ambience and pleasant vibe.

A very homey athmosphere and great foods cafe*
.
🍴Halloumi Toast with crispy chicken -
Crispy Chicken was juicy and flavorful with seasonings. The fried egg and Halloumi made a good combination together. Also, the side dish salad was fresh and tasty as well.
.
🍴Oven Baked 3 Cheese Shakshuka
It had all the flavour but not too much, and the eggs tasted so fresh and you won't feel sick of keep eating it.
.
Other than nice foods, the cafe also selling all different kind of local products. It was very impressive to me.
.
