My wife & I popped in for an impromptu meal & it was outstanding! We are return customers & are always impressed but last night the food was just amazing. I don't know if it was just because we had not been to Rama's for a while or what it was, but the Korma was the best I think I've ever eaten & the hot & spicy Pork curry was both delicious & intense. My mouth is watering while I type this. The owner is a beautiful, happy soul too which makes the experience that much more enjoyable.
Rama's is the best Indian Fijian restaurant I have ever attended, not to mention the management and hospitality staff provide incredible service! I wouldn't spend my money on any other Indian food other than from here! The food quality is above and beyond any others and the warm and friendly environment instantly gives you a good feeling and creates a great experience for dinner. So much love and praise for this place! A true hidden gem of Canberra!!
This is literally the best Indian style restaurant short of going to Sydney or Melbourne.
On top of being literally mindblowing food, the hospitality and friendliness of the staff, even when stupidly busy, is amazing. They're just so friendly and awesome.
What great place for excellent Fijian Indian food! Ramas has been running for over 30 years and is still an excellent place to eat: great food, great service; and fabulous management. (But just a tad noisy...)

Verdict - great South Indian style food. Full of spices.
We were looking for a place to eat in Canberra. Ended up in this place. Came across this Fiji Indian resturant. As never heard of such thing before thought let’s give it a try and it didn’t disappoint. The place has been running for a long time and you can see why when you try their food. We went for a fish and chicken curry. Go for fish for sure. I liked the fact they asked how spicy you want. We went for medium and it was perfect.
Food was great. Once again eftpos was down which is the second time even though its been a year since I was there and it was the same story then. Had no cash but was told to go to an eftpos machine and get the cash. Wasn't happy and this needs a serious consideration. Restaurant got so noisy I was unable to talk to anyone.
We had the most pleasant dining experience at Rama's this evening.
We were welcomed to the restaurant, a place we've not been before, so warmly by the owner. All the waitstaff were incredibly polite, delivering quality attentive service. The training of these waiters/waitresses is a real credit to management.
The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the vegetable samosas, paneer masala, lamb Bombay, roti and the most refreshing mango lassi. The masala had large chunks of homemade paneer (my favourite!) and a lovely smokey thick sauce, while the lamb Bombay had a sweet thick sauce and was equally delicious.
Thank you so much for a wonderful night out. We will be back.
