Does My Bomb Look Big In This

It’s hot and dry on the day I visit Pemulwuy. The suburb is named for an Aboriginal resistance fighter, who battled incursions of British settlers for his homeland, focusing on the nearby Toongabbie settlement. Today, row after row of identikit multi-storey homes in neutral shades with alternating bright feature walls so you can tell your house from your neighbour’s, seem to imply that resistance is futile. Each house butts up against the next, taking up every permitted inch of land. The divided roads are populated with nature strips; trees planted equidistant from the next, their leaves that particularly Australian shade of olive drab. For two hundred years, this land was used as a quarry, but in 2004 it became a new suburb, and these were the residential developments that soon followed. Granata’s has been part of the Pemulwuy landscape for six years. Run by the...
4.5/5 I've never been to Granata's before and I've never heard of the suburb Pemulwuy before. Although after posting photos on instagram, several friends reached out saying they have been to Granata's before with recommendation. Granata's is an Italian restaurant full of the family recipes including Grandma's secret recipes. How intriguing!
Friendly staff. Good for a casual coffee date. Some days are better than others in regards to wait times & food. Overall food is nice, nothing spectacular about it... Never had a bad meal though! Prices are reasonable too. Staff always quick to help.. would I recommend? Yes:)
Overall: Visited this cafe this morning and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend visiting this cafe if you're in the area!
Atmosphere: They play groovy tunes if that's your thing - from Michael Jackson classics to early 2000s Black Eyed Peas hits. Interior was ambient, simplistically decorated and inviting, as there is open access for those who like to watch the chef's cook.
Staff: Waitress/es were very polite, welcoming and presentable.
Food/Coffee: Ordered the Eggs Benny with salmon and really enjoyed it. The coffee is quite good - they use Vittoria branded beans, and costs ~$4 for a classic coffee (Cappuccino / Latte / Flat White) with $0.50 for extras: soy, decaf etc. They also have coconut milk if you're open to trying something new!
Cost: Overall ~ $32 for two people inclusive of breakfast meals and coffees.
I came here for my morning coffee and treat.
Located in the housing area, street parking was easy to find.
Coffee was great, from Vittoria.
I chose Nutella bombolene and it didn’t disappoint. The Nutella filling was quite generous even though I wished the dough was softer).
Might try their lunch/dinner menu next time.
Great Cafe, fast friendly service. Thanks Zomato, never would have discovered it otherwise. Was just after some brunch with the kids, they said it was really good !!
This place is always packed! We were lucky to have gotten a seat during a walk in as we were in the area. Food was good and so was the service.
Definitely one to visit if you're into homely Italian food.
They even have nutella donuts but eating the gnocchi filled me to a point where it was hard for me to move.
Price was okay but it can be a bit tricky to find as it's kind of in the middle of nowhere.
But there is an underground car park which is good.
Would definitely recommend it.
Had a great bday dinner for my friend here last night! For starters we had the veal arancini which was delicious! Crispy and filled with rice, cheese and meat! Yum!
Mains were superb. I had the gnocchi Gorgonzola with walnuts, beautifully cooked gnocchi and an amazingly creamy cheesy sauce that wasn't overpowering.
My fried had the penne with pistachio prosciutto and cream which was also super tasty!
Pretty decent cafe in pemulwuy and theres easily available parking which is pretty sweet
Love the gnocchi (first time ive had it), prices are decent and youre definitely full afterwards
Definately recommend if youre in the area and the service is very friendly
The food wasn't too bad I can't complain too much however I was expecting a lot more considering how hyped up some people got me about this place. we ordered squid salad/chips as well as fish salad/chips both seafood was a little plain it could've used some more flavour. The chips aioli sauce pizza we got was amazing though I can't lie. Prices for some mains can be a little pricey however for most things it's not too bad. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some more things and especially for their pizzas!
The staff were friendly and the food was delicious!
The coffee ☕️ was soooo good!
Great local with great coffee, service and food. The staff are friendly, all round a great place to catch up with friends.
Was near the area for work and dropped by to get some takeaway.
While my plating isn't as nice, the garlic prawn fettuccine is amazing. Fresh, al dente pasta and plump prawns, perfectly cooked.
Disclaimer - my photo is half of the portion.
great little italian place for the area - would come again and try their other pastas as well 💖

Had a kid free evening so we decided to dine at Granata's.
We ordered
Entree; Mozzarella Sticks and Bruschetta
Mains; Gnocci Boscaiola and Chicken Mushroom Risotto.
Dessert; Vanilla Panacotta and Churros
All of it was absolutely delicious. The risotto really hit the spot on a cold evening. The churros were crunchy and sweet.
The Gnocci is still fantastic! Soft fresh so tasty.. Yum yum yum!
It was a great choice to come here.

Their food is excellent - woodfired pizza to die for.. Gnocci so delicious, risotto amaze balls! Honestly the food is fantastic!
The atmosphere is nice, big screen TV and aesthetically pleasing.
The only thing, which is why I deducted a star is the price along with the serving size.
It is quite pricey, (I don't mind going out now and then and paying for quality) but sadly the portions didn't match the price.
I brought my kids with me and paid around $10 (give or take a dollar) each, and received about 10 pieces of gnocci for one of their orders.
Also, the plate of the risotto looks huge but sadly it's only a thin layer spread out and a handful of gnocci for the main.
Again, they were delicious but was disappointed there wasn't more.
We ordered gnocci, risotto and 2x kids meals
Amazing, delicious food. Traditional Italian food, I only wish we lived closer! Really welcoming staff, great pizzas, pastas and the best Arancinis I’ve ever had. A great choice if you’re looking for really tasty Italian food.
Our weekly takeaway! These people fluctuate between good and awesome. On a bad day they are better than any alternative. Couldn't capture the full pizza because it was too good to wait for a snap. Very highly recommended. Authenticity at its best.
Excellent food, staff and ambiance...
Also great option for Vegetarian and Vegan...
Highly recommended, we will visit again soon 🤗
