I am a long time fan of Vietnam Restaurant and was waiting for the next generation's Viet Next Door to open and was excited when an opportunity finally presented itself for a visit. The decor is very cool. Excellent service. Great cocktail list. The food was delicious with the kingfish in betel leaf and bo kho gnocchi being my favourites. No room for dessert but they were tempting.

A must go in Adelaide! If you haven’t been yet then get booking people. Read about Viet Next Door in broadsheet and put it on the list to go to. To start off had a bit of trouble making a booking as there doesn’t seem to be a message bank when you ring and then my email bounced back but I addressed this with the owner while we were there. Wish I took a picture of the menu to put on Zomato but it’s an unusual menu of Asian fusion. We didn’t have room for entrees so just went straight into mains and ordered the garlic noodles with crab and lemongrass chicken. Both were amazing and so tasty! I absolutely loved the garlic noodles, great portion size as well. The flavours of the garlic and crab were just right, neither overpowering the other. The chicken was cooked perfectly and is a nice little set up to put it all together in a rice paper roll. Even though we were full we squished in the popular popcorn creme brûlée. Perfect crack on the top and the inside was so smooth and decadent. The service was great, if anything maybe too many people serving you but everyone is so friendly and they always check on you. We also had the lovely owner come over at the end of the meal and chat which was so nice and thoughtful. Can’t wait to go back with a group to try more food, the beer batter oysters with seaweed are calling my name.

This place serves incredible food: simple yet authentic. Every dish is served at a correct pace, neither bombarded all at the same time nor served really slow. The overall taste is balanced and every ingredient shines through. The decor is contemporary, stylish and sophisticated. The staff is extremely polite and thoughtful. This place is apt for long hour conversations as the ambience of this place is cozy and comfortable. The menu is extensive and has a variety of choices for everyone. Went here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and this place did justice to it and we enjoyed our hearts out. We ordered the following dishes and am trying my best to remember the names:
- Cheeseburger Spring rolls
- Fiery chicken wings
- Chicken fried rice
- Minced pork balls cold paper rolls
- Soft shell crab with ginger and chili
- Crispy fried chicken
- Crispy chicken ginger and chili
- Margarita: The margarita was pretty strong and gave us all a buzz!
We loved every single dish. This place should be on your list if you like Vietnamese cuisine as you will be highly satisfied, and I am glad we visited here!
This place is absolutely incredible! The restaurant has an aesthetic interior with unique decor and beautiful dining experience. Servers were also patient, accomodating and dedicated to ensuring a comfortable dinner. Went here for date night, and had ordered the first of four banquet options. The entire meal was filling, and used highly quality ingredients that were cooked to perfection. The prawn king soup was spicy, tangy and sweet, the combination salad was crisp and refreshing, the lemongrass chicken was tender with a smokey glaze, the steaming hotpot was served in front of us and had a complex taste with a multitude of textures, the salt and pepper squid was crunchy with well-balanced flavours, and the lychees with ice-cream was a perfect sugar hit to the finish off the whole meal. Highly recommend coming here and coming for an awesome dining experience - I will definitely be making an appearance again!

Dinner at @vietnextdoor_ from about a month ago: we haven't been back in ages, and the Viet Next Door's menu is a lot smaller than we remembered. The food is still very good, but it somehow feels a little bit more like an extension of Vietnam Restaurant.

Vietnamese moulé: mussels. Absolutely loves this dish! Such good flavours. The sauce was great for dipping with the fried dough 😜😜😍😍🤤🤤.

Whole clams with fried dough: similarly, as with the mussels dish, the flavours were fantastic. Fried dough is a must!

Chicken wings: super crispy and savoury! Loved it 😊.

King prawn salad: very refreshing, and delicious prawns. Great dish!

Soft shell crab with ginger and chilli: can't go wrong with soft shell crab 😍.

Fried whole barramundi with green mango, chilli: excellent and tender fried fish. The chilli sauce was super tasty!

Gourmet fried rice, combination: good standard fried rice. Nothing special but good 🙂.

Lychee and passionfruit panna cotta: perfect panna cotta - great jiggle 😅😅🤤🤤. Lovely flavour too!

Popcorn caramel creme brulee: slightly on the sweet side, but it is supposed to be caramel 😜. The surface had the perfect crunch!
Beautifully designed space with lots of different materials and textures. It is a 4d experience in this restaurant! Great music and friendly service. Accommodating for large groups and set menu available. Food is unbelievable and they have found the balance between Asian fusion but also keep authenticity. The grilled corn and soft shell crab were our favourites. Drinks were also delicious. Can't wait to go back to try the other foods on the menu!
Do yourself a favour and come here asap. Incredible food, very attentive staff, modern and clean environment. Ask the staff for their recommendations on what to eat and drink. Make sure to get the signature gnocci dish and save room for dessert; our group tried them all and couldn't fault one!
Came here with friends because we heard the food was good. No regret, I am impress with the food and drinks. The service was very good. The place is not that big neither fancy. I just find it a bit pricy.
One of the finest Vietnamese recipes I have tried in Adelaide. We went there to celebrate my birthday and we had an amazing time. The staff were warm and polite. I would definitely visit this place again and will recommend it to my family and friends.
