Review Zamia Cafe - Perth

Nathanial Wheeler-Hart
Sometimes when you're in the cbd looking for brunch the answer is close by and nothing like being in the concrete jungle! That's Zamia Cafe for you. A slice of heaven in the serenity of Kings Park. Everything here is made on the premises. Our food was gorgeous and fresh. Coffee was delicious. Cakes are to die for. But the real clincher is the surroundings. You can't beat nature for pure ambience. Sit. Slow down. Enjoy.

Wonderful indoor/outdoor cafe at the quieter end of the park - closeby to children's play area so very popular for families. Cafe is ordering at the counter but then food is brought to your table. Great selection of foods for meals as well as coffee and cake. Good flavourful coffee

We came here twice for breakfast over our 5 day holiday in Perth as we enjoyed the food, the service, and the park for our little one to run free. Parking is easy. If you have kiddos this is a good place to spend your mornings!

I have eaten nasi goreing and fish n chips at many places in Perth. They are one of the best if not the best. Plus this place is pet friendly. Keep it up guys.

Excellent staff. Fresh and yummy food with reasonable price. Good coffee. Wonderful atmosphere and environment. Indoor and outdoor seating.

This is a lovely place for visitors and family. The environment surrounding the Zamia Cafe is already one of the best in Kings Park. The food here is always fresh and good. A great cafe for group gathering during the day and certainly an unforgettable park for a casual walk after the meal. I have to thank uncle Bernie deeply in my heart for bringing us here. What a beautiful and peaceful place just outside the cafe. Car parking bays are ticket free. Enjoy!

Wonderful place amidst the greenary. Food was good. A tiny bit of wait to order but food arrived fast.

Very nice cafe with good garden view 😎

For a good enjoyment of food, comes with good customer service, and then some damn rude owner came up to someones table, while they were having a good time and yelled "“There is a 60 minute policy and there are people waiting, and you have been there for two hours”". Shouting until the whole restaurant can hear. Jeez that was a shock

Lovely views overlooking the playground. Great cafe with lots of parking spaces. The staff were great, attentive and helpful despite the fact that the cafe was so busy during a Saturday lunch hour. Coffee was good and we really enjoyed the chocolate torte.

What I ordered:<br/><br/>- EntrĂ©e- Goats Cheese, Ricotta and Cherry Tomato Tart with rocket, beetroot & hazelnut salad<br/><br/>- Main- Pumpkin, Quinoa, Chickpea Falafel grilled with rocket, beetroot, feta, pistachio, orange salad & herb yogurt (gf)<br/><br/>Dessert: <br/><br/>- Individual Pavlova with summer fruits & berries<br/><br/>- Macadamia and Honey Parfait (gf)<br/><br/>- Coffee- Mocha <br/><br/>Pros: <br/><br/>- The entrĂ©e (Goats Cheese, Ricotta and Cherry Tomato Tart with rocket, beetroot & hazelnut salad) was amazing! The salad went perfectly with the tart so I definitely recommend you try this one. <br/><br/>- Going for the set menu does make you quite full by the time you get to dessert. <br/><br/>- The parfait was really good and I would recommend this over the pavlova. <br/><br/>- Free parking and plenty of parking.<br/><br/>- Beautiful surroundings to enjoy your meal. <br/><br/>- After your meal, you can take a stroll through King’s Park or sit and relax on the grass outside the cafĂ©. <br/><br/>Cons:<br/><br/>- Unfortunately, the options on the set menu did not have any vegetarian options so they let me choose one from their restaurant mains. There were only two options available and this was one of them. It wasn’t amazing but it was average. <br/><br/>- The pavlova was too sweet for me although the summer fruits & berries were lovely.  <br/>- Not many choices in the mains even on the restaurant menu. <br/><br/>- Unfortunately. I couldn’t finish the dessert as I was too full by the time it got to dessert. <br/><br/>- The entrĂ©e I ordered as well as the dessert may only be available for large bookings through a set menu which is unfortunate as it tasted amazing.

*3.5 stars with no major negatives. Recently refurbished/renovated and looking good. Service is lovely, as is the location. Food is okay, you can pretty much everything from hot chips and nuggets to a complex meal down to a yummy sweet treat. The only thing that bugs me is the pricing. It’s exorbitant for what it is - a park cafe.

RATE 3.5<br/><br/>Zamia is a lovely spot to have breakfast before or after a walk around Kings Park. <br/><br/>I had the Eggs Benedict $20 which was a decent size but was taken aback by the amount of hollandaise smothered over my poached eggs. It made eating my eggs benedict annoying as I tried to scrap off as much of the hollandaise at each bite. However my friend who ordered the same dish didn’t mind too much (so it depends on each person). Don’t get me wrong I love hollandaise sauce but this was just way too much and overpowered everything else on my plate. Just a tip
if you’re a eggs benedict lover then I would recommend getting the hollandaise separately on the side. <br/><br/>Lastly my Cappuccino $4.5 was spot on and well made. <br/><br/>Overall great atmosphere and quite busy on the weekend. The staff were friendly and the service was really quick. There is a large seating area inside and outside, so you shouldn’t have to wait to long to grab a table.

We had some food with some friends was amazing I was soooo full couldn’t even finish my chicken focaccia and there was a some nice salad my husband had the beef brisket lasagna he said it was ok but said he could taste more tomato than cheese he was also still hungry so he ordered a mini hamburger he said that was good the others had the lamb and the falafel they said it tasted yummy. Food here is good quality and the servings are generous, was very impressed as it was my first time here and also the banana smoothie was good.. so need to work off all this food wanted to try the deserts so badly because they looked soooo amazing but was so full lol đŸ·. Would love to come back đŸ€”đŸ˜ŹđŸ™‚đŸ™‚.

Generous portion sizes and a great avocado mash! The coffee is great as well. The outdoor eating area has heaters so was a great spot for breakfast with friends.
Eunice
Beautiful setting and nicely located at the other side of Kings Park! How generous the portions of the food were! I think its worth for the price of what we paid for. I couldn’t finish my pork schnitzel, but it was lovely. Had iced coffee and iced chocolate which was super cooling on a hot afternoon. Staff were attentive to service and food came out quick.

Awesome quick service and generous portions. The food was tasty too.Such a cool place at Kings Park. Walked around the Kings Park with my girls afterwards.

I'd like to preface this review by saying that I've never posted a review on Zomato or any other food app or website. I just had the Chicken nuggets & chips at Zamia Cafe today. The chips were the worst I've ever had, they were so undercooked & rubbery. If you can't get hot chips right, I have to wonder what the rest of the food there is like. I realise it's a first world problem but when you pay good money to occasionally go out and enjoy some snacks with the family, you expect better quality than what you could get from frozen chips done at home!

What a perfect spot for a winters lunch after a big rise on the bikes. We arrived here when it was in full swing but secured a lovely table outside. He ordered the chicken, cheese and avo focaccia, I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and junior had the kids burger. After the waitress served us junior and I swapped! The burger was perfect for me! Did in mention the side of chips? Junior enjoyed those too. The service was really good and the food was good in a bright and sunny setting. Back on the bike now!!!

I went to Zamia cafe for coffee and lunch. The food is overpriced. I guess you're paying for the view. It's just next to a beautiful park and a pond. I love the readily beautiful view, but the food is just standard and is not worth the price you pay for it.
Lola
I go here occasionally and always find it very good, the coffee is lovely and the savory muffins are delish and change every day. It's a lovely spot to catch up with family and friends. I recommended this place, but be mindful that it gets quite busy so if you have a big group you should book.
Just Another Aussie In Vancouver
The food at Zamia Cafe was spectacular! I got the vegetarian breakfast but asked if I could swap out the avocado for bacon which they were more then happy to do. It's hard to find a good breakfast place these days that will do that for you. I didn't get to taste the scrambled eggs, however the poached eggs were perfect.

We held out work Christmas lunch at Zamia. Fantastic to deal with from beginning to end, great location, the food was delicious and a great price, great service from all the team who looked after us on the day. Would have no hesitation in recommending Zamia again
Bonny
Beautiful place for such a lovely cafe. Staff were friendly and service was average. The variety of foods on the menu is great and I can't wait to go back in summer time

Zamia Cafe is relatively good place to have brunch if you visited Kings Park for morning walk. It was very busy when my friend and I arrived. We were lucky to have table outside in less than 5 minutes. The food option is quite diverse. I ordered an egg Benedict, and my friend ordered fritters with smoked salmon. My egg Benedict was ok, had better on other place. The poach egg on top and hollandaise sauce is quite cold by the time it serve on the table. My friend really enjoyed her smoked salmon on bed of fritters.<br/><br/>Service was so so. The first wait staff that served us and the girl on the counter are friendly and provide good service. But another wait staff just took our plate without saying anything. Small thing I know, but it is quite rude when someone come from behind you and took away your plate without saying anything while both of your hand is in between that plate.<br/><br/>If you have kids, this place is perfect for family dine out because big playground just outside the restaurant. If you don’t really like kids and want to have decent conversation with your date or friends, Zamia is not really the place to go.
Fay
Lovely location but disappointing food and rude service. Took an hour for our food to arrive, when it did the waitress brought wrong order. She insisted on blaming us but we never ordered what she brought. Would not recommend this cafe and won't bother going back again. <br/>

Food here is surprisely greatGood tasting curry with vegies, love it.The pie is also made by heart.:)The only defect is the seat is not very comfortable.

We went for breakfast on a weekday.  The location is splendid, overlooking a beautiful park with lots of lovely native plants around the café.  For $20 per plate we found it ok but not great.  There was something disappointing about both dishes.  If we went again I'd be a little more discerning about what I ordered.
Lesley
A busy, popular cafe/restaurant in a particularly pretty area of Kings Park. Probably should be avoided at weekends and school holidays as it is located beside a large playground. Booking is still advised during the week. The staff are efficient and friendly, the selection of cakes and deserts is huge and all baked on the premises, breakfasts and brunches are huge and varied. Really love this place but not recommended for anyone looking for a quiet time.
Nikki
Love this place!!  I have been twice with a friend and my little one in the past month. The most recent time was a really wet and windy day and upon arrival the Manager gave us several options of seating so we could be warm and comfortable.  We ordered our food, & it came out nice and quickly and was delicious and filling as always.  This will always be my go to when around Kings Park.

A great walk/cycle/jog through Kings Park and you find yourself being served up breakfast by smiling friendly staff. Fresh cold water in clean jugs is a plus. Dogs are welcome on the big verandas and water bowls are placed for them near taps. Food is a little pricey, breakfast dishes $16.50-$23.50 and lunches up to $26 but the coffee is good and the whole atmosphere is great. Gluten free option are available.
Ladies Who Lunch
My lovely friend and I went to Zamia for a quick tea and a muffin. <br/>The muffin was mediocre, of cupcake consistency with frozen berries and tinned pear. My friend wanted a light snack, instead she got a less than impressive concoction. Tea was good.
Food Yobbo.
Lemon Pepper Squid was awesome. Reasonably priced and decent portion. Not often I come across this, especially with Calamari. The people at my table enjoyed their orders too.
Lt
Offers traditional/classic lunch options<br/>Nothing fancy or unique but still tasty<br/>Service is minimal - you order at the counter and take back to your table<br/>Nice location in kings park<br/>Would be good for family outings

Always busy, even worse on weekends<br/><br/>Great location in Kings Park. Huge children's play area outside and lovely view. All of this means pram patrol if the blue rinse brigade has not made their books. All this said, I come here all the time and I'm not part of either group. <br/><br/>Food is good and fresh. Believe cakes baked fresh daily. Prices are Perth normal, and the staff is always friendly. I always recommend to visitors. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>Atmosphere: +.5<br/>Food: +.75<br/>Price: +.75<br/>Presentation: +.75<br/>Professionalism: +1<br/>Other:

Had lunch at Zamia this week with a few friends. This large noisy cafĂ© is in an idyllic location overlooking the Synergy parklands in King’s Park, and is constantly bustling with customers. You order your food at the counter and pick it up at the other end when your buzzer lets you know it’s ready.<br/><br/>Zamia has its location on its side, but not much else. The food is ordinary and over priced. My Caesar salad consisted of what must have been an entire cos lettuce, huge croutons, slivers of parmesan and smoked salmon. An underwhelming and unsatisfying lunch at $25. What was even more disappointing was that this place had been on my wishlist for ages, and the experience definitely wasn't worth the wait.<br/><br/>Two other friends ordered the focaccias – one with roast beef and one with Mediterranean vegetables. The roast beef tasted and smelled off, and the vegetable one was shrouded in 2 massive chunks of bread and had no discernable taste. Neither of my friends ate more than a few bites. To its credit, Zamia later refunded the cost of these 2 lunches. One of my pet peeves is when cafes try to make sandwiches look impressive by using ginormous slabs of bread and filling them with stuff that your dog would turn its nose up at. Why can’t they just use good quality sourdough or rye, and decent fillers, while keeping them to a normal size?<br/><br/>One friend had better luck with her lemon pepper calamari and carrot soup (one of the daily specials). This calamari was tender and the carrot soup was tasty, but strangely filled with sticks of carrot in what looked to be a smooth pureed soup.<br/><br/>The cake cabinet is filled with large cakes, slices and tarts that Zamia makes in house every day. We shared a salted caramel slice and a brownie. There was not a hint of salt in the slice, although as a plain old-fashioned caramel slice it was fine, and the brownie was bland without the expected rich chocolate taste and with no depth of flavour. <br/><br/>Zamia provides mass produced food for a large and demanding crowd of park visitors and tourists. Many of its patrons are likely one-timers who visit because they happen to be in the park. When you have a captive audience you don’t have to try really hard to produce quality food. You can overcharge and feed people with unimpressive food, and still be confident that your cafĂ© will be full again the next day. There are many wonderful cafes around Perth these days producing quality, imaginative dishes that leave you feeling satisfied and excited about returning. Zamia isn’t one of them.

Extremely busy during weekends... Advanced booking is recommended... Last time we got the side outside table, without the umbrella . Sun was glaring at us, couldn't stay long as it is eye blinding >.

Friendly staff, great view, delicious simple breakfast - a perfect spot for a lazy Sunday morning if you accidentally find yourself in Kings Park:)) Unfortunately a bit noisy inside but if you sit outside on the deck you won't hear that and will enjoy 100% of the gardens. Will be back.

Very busy cafe. Coffee and food was ok. Good place to sit down and look out to the play ground if you have children. Good place to catch up with friend for morning walk and breakfast. ( nice when it not too busy in the early morning )

Loud, cold food, bad coffee. Can't book large tables for birthdays etc. Pity as location is great for the kiddies. Won't go back. Definitely not my favourite
Markeverson2808
It's really eat-here-cos-there-is-nowhere-else-to-eat kind of place. The service was efficient but not really friendly but at least it was a place to get my coffee fix and some cakes as we sat down to have a rest. But the view of the park was great.
Magical Fairy
Waited half an hour for two pots of tea, rhubarb tart and cheesecake (that I had to collect myself from a self collect station) even though the cafe was only 70% full. I notice that the customers were primarily the elderly who had trouble carrying heavy trays or even getting to the self collect station. Maybe re-think the self collect station? Or offer to carry the trays for them?

Great place for kids to have a play food is great a little on the pricey side but the coffee is terrible taste like luke warm milk with a drop of coffee at $4.50 for a small cup very poor.Great place for kids to have a play food is great a little on the pricey side but the coffee is terrible taste like luke warm milk with a drop of coffee at $4.50 for a small cup very poor.

Great Food, Great Setting... I have been coming here for coffee for a long time and always looked at the meals going out and thought they looked amazing. I finally got round to booking a family lunch and wasn't disappointed. Even though it was mid week I was glad I booked as the place was packed - weekends are even busier. The menu selection offers something for everyone, veggies and meateaters alike and there are always 3 or 4 specials on too. BYO - so we took along some wine. We had the chicken caesar salad; quiche of the day (tomato, pumpkin, mushroom & spinach) with salad; leek, gruyere & thyme tart with coleslaw, chicken avocado focacia with salad and the salad special (baked ricotta with mixed tomato, basil and roast capsicum in balsamic dressing) - all of which were fresh and delicious, great portion sizes too. With meals like this, prompt and friendly service, and such a lovely setting overlooking the park it is no wonder this place is always full. We will definetly go back for a meal again. <br/>Whoever is behind this place should be allowed to take over the Botanic Cafe on Fraser Avenue, which at the moment is a poor excuse for a restaurant.
Ringo
Great pit stop for lunch during a long weekend walk .Decent food and great coffee
Andrew
Excellent. Great setting. Zamia cafe is to be commended for the variety of their children's menu. As for the adults, we can highly recommend the Gruyere & leek tart with walnut and apple coleslaw. The mushroom & asparagus aranchinis were also delicious.

Consistent, Consistent, Consistent....is what I would say about Zamia's. Breakfast or Lunch, this place is a go to place when you are hungry and in the area. They have been consistent place to dine for a number of years and we honestly keep coming back. A sign of a great place. Well done and sorry it has taken me this long to review you... :)

We'll be back!. On a blustery autumn afternoon lunch at Zamia was more than enough to life our spirits. We were lucky enough to be seated by the windows which look over a lush looking Kings Park.<br/><br/>The menu had a wide selection that would, I hope, have tempted the most jaded palate. I had the zucchini and feta fritters, which came with a delicious salad that incorporated grated carrot and beetroot as well as roasted flakes almonds. It was delicious! Hubby had the open steak sandwich, which he said was also delicious. We both had fresh juices.<br/><br/>I know we'll return, just so we can savour something from the their breakfast menu!

Lovely spot with children. Had breakfast here yesterday on a busy (rainy) Sunday morning. We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us a choice of tables to sit at. Handed us menu's and promptly returned with glasses and water. Offered to get high chair for our youngest but we didn't need it. Food is reasonably priced and I love that they offer child serves of breakfast too. I had the home made baked beans and they are magnificent. Love the fresh juices. Service was great. A very friendly place and the kids loved exploring the park afterwards. A delightful Sunday.

Little secret. Zamia cafe is a magical little place tucked away in the bushland of Kings Park. The service is extremely friendly and the owners are more than happy to accommodate your needs, they will even sit down and have a chat if you oblige! Morning is when its at its best: quite, away from the hustle and bustle and fresh coffee served with a smile. The meal prices are fair and you will not leave hungry! Daily specials and freshly baked cakes are sure to tickle your taste buds. you can tell these folks take pride in their food and it certainly comes across. I have been going here for years and its never disappointed, cant recommend it enough!

Absolutely shocking service. Waited 40 mins for our breakfast.
Peanuts123
I always meet my mum here for coffee during our walks/bike rides and the coffees are great! Great views of the park and very kid-friendly if you were to bring your children here. I've only come for food once it liked it so will definitely have to come for a meal again :)
Yvette
Had breakfast there this morning, was recommended Zamia! Quite disappointed ordered Zamias full breakfast think I could do a better job myself at home! Toast only half cooked and very dry, eggs the whites were tough, mushrooms tough might leave it there! Will not be returning!
Michael
Have been here several times and love it. Prices great value for what you get. Food is excellent and very generous servings. Shared one of best calamaris followed by crispy skin barramundi and desert and coffee, all perfect all for less $60. Byo wine but do not charge corkage. Beautiful setting staff very busy but friendly and helpful. One of the best!
Tang
Super pricey for ok quality. Wow. So expensive for what you get. No wonder there are no prices on anything in the display cabinet. <br/>Staff friendly enough but they need more people on. <br/>Takeaway order took 25 minutes (toasted sandwich and a freshly squeezed juice) <br/>There are better places to go in Perth with better views. The trees are nice but looking at a playground isn't everyone's cup of tea.
MMc
Great Staff. Staff were extremely helpful especially because they were almost fully booked but they took my name and number and then were able to give us a table and let me order from the lunch menu before 11.30 so that by the time our 3rd person arrived (just after 11.30) he had time to eat lunch and get back to work. Food was great (I have never had bad food here), it is a little more expensive but the venue makes up for it and today the service even more so.
Catherine
Great place. This is a great café. Had lunch recently and the pumpkin quiche was delicious and a really good sized portion. Afternoon tea here is always a treat - Zamia has the best cakes and their carrot cake in particular is just superb! Beautiful aspect overlooking parklands and always has a friendly cheery vibe.

Payed almost $40 for two sandwiches and three drinks take out. When I began to eat my sandwich I was surprised to discover that the chicken wasn't real, it was pressed. Very disabled

Excellent. Lovely food, great service, polite friendly staff who really look after your every need. My friends and I were impressed with the level of care for their customers. Recommended.

Yum pancakes!. Breakfast at Zamia Cafe is always a winner, and they make the best pancakes....coffee is great too. It's always busy and especially so on the weekend when we had beautiful sunny winter days.
Stuart Penn
The best cafe in Kings Park by a long way. Great coffee, location and food. Always a favourite.
Michelle
Kid friendly.... Sisters birthday, a lot of other places were full on this day so came to this lovely little café in Kings park. found a seat easily, the kids were occupied and the servings of food huge. and a nice sunny day to top it off.
MrsWang
Another lovely breakfast @ Zamia. Kid-friendly, noisy, super-busy, but I love the food and the coffee is always good! Counter orders make it easy for group bookings. I really want to go back to try one of their yummy looking cakes - apparently all made on site!
Constant
The food is great but at that price I would expect table service. Certainly not value for money from that perspective!
Lisa
My favorite baked eggs in Perth, just delicious. Can be noisy and the coffee is terrible (i have had it come out covered in burnt milk skin) but I haven't been able to find a place that tops those baked eggs...
Terri
We are frequent weekend customers over many years to this lovely, mostly ' spot on' eatery, breakfast is our thing and we love the setting, the staff, and the food, they have been under-whelming on a few occasions, mostly the eggs done not quite right, but in general, a great spot after a run on the weekend.
Phoebe
Scrambled Eggs. Breakfast at Zamia Café this morning. The staff are always super friendly and the coffee is pretty good. Ordered scrambled eggs and toast, but was hugely disappointed to have a plate of watery yellow mash posing as scrambled eggs presented. I'm 99% confident they came from a box and I had to mop up the seeping water with a napkin. Not a great $10 spent.<br/>The toast was the only redeeming feature of that meal and left most of the eggs. <br/>Other people at the table had the FOD barramundi - overcooked with chewy skin, a foccacia - well stuffed with roast beef, but with a side salad that could have done with being tossed with dressing rather than a tiny squeeze on top and quiche which was suffering the same "eggy" predicament as the scramble.
Maria
Great Food but Pricey. Well, met my friends there was 4 of us... Got there around 9.00am. Pretty full. We ordered coffees and breakfast meals. Well, maybe they need an Italian to show them how to make the real coffees. Not hot at all, not much taste at all.<br/>Then the food came. One had a full breakfast and the rest of us had a vegetarian breakfast. There was plenty of food on a big plate. Water jug on the table for us, which was a hot morning and was good. Need to clean their jugs properly tho as it had a bit of rust on the bottom of the stainless steel jug... YUK. <br/>We enjoyed the food and was plenty, great views and atmosphere. Beautiful cakes and looked fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful and service was quick.<br/>A bit pricey but if you want good food in Perth you have to pay for it, it seems. Not many places in Perth can make good coffee though. We had a great morning/
Pickled Saltire
2nd visit in as many weeks with visiting relatives. Both times service and food great. I know collecting your own meals can be a bit annoying, but it works ok here.<br/>Well done Zamia's. Keep it up.

Great spot for breakfast...... Arrived at 8.15am, and there already a queue to order food. Got a table outside, great setting for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The freshly squeezed juice was delicious and refreshing. All the food that came out looked and tasted good, no complaints from anyone there, except that the bacon was a little oily on the plate. The cakes in the fridge looked great, will have to go back for those next time.
Tony Longbottom
I give up, 6 times I have ordered a bacon and egg toasted sandwich in this place... 6 times I have begged, pleaded, stated my request SO clearly...And 6 times they have $&@!?$ it up!!!! A soft egg means runny yolk....not cremate the bum nut to the point of resembling rubber!! And yes you can put sauce in the damn thing...when you have to pay just under $30 for 2 B&E sangas and 2 coffees, at least you could do is get the bloody order right!!!
CrazyMoFo
Great Breakfast. Well worth a visit.<br/>Can get a bit over crowded and noisy with cyclists though
Koala Koala
Delight. Had a pleasant and wonderful time dining in for lunch at Zamia on the weekend. Great atmosphere and surrounding.
Love Eating Out
Beautiful location and great food. My husband and I have been here several times for breakfast and have been thoroughly impressed. The staff are very friendly and happy to accommodate. The big breakfast is value for money - my husband and I could easily share. The pancakes are also large and very tasty. The fruit juices are a little expensive - but well worth it. The coffee is great - compliments to the weekday barista.<br/>Overall - beautiful view and highly recommend the food.

Unhappy Customer. Clearly this cafe has waaaay too many customers to be concerned about the service. Appalling is the word I would use for the constant approaches to our table to be moved (which we did) and then to remove tables from us for other customers whilst we were still eating!!! DO NOT GO. They don't deserve the business and quite obviously don't care as the Manager when I complained was disdainful and didn't care. Not a way to run a business. Shame on you!
Toby Forrest
I joined my parents for lunch at Zamia today. Whilst the food was nice and the location great i felt the serving sizes were too large and the prices too high especially as they don't provide full waiter service. Surely if you expect customers to fetch their own food when buzzed the price should reflect the labour savings. Whilst we all enjoyed the food I am not sure I will be rushing back in a hurry as there are plenty of other cafe in Perth with better value for money.
Caity Clifton
Very impressed! Great food (a few gf options) both companions ordered paninis, they were huge and came with a well dressed side salad. I order the gluten free mushrooms and was very impressed! Well seasoned and good portion size. Coffee was lovely. Will be going back!
Mad Hatter
Not so great. I went here for morning tea a few weeks ago, after being seated we were informed that payment was to be made at the counter, inconvenient but understandable for a busy cafe of this size. 10 or so mins passed and a couple were eyeing off our table and refusing to be seated and sure enough when we went up to order they darted for our table. The lady that had seated us a mere 15 minutes prior then cleared our water glasses and provided them with new ones. When politely asked the couple refused to move stating they had no recollection of us sitting there. We then had to flag down cafe staff in order to be seated at a new table which was unprotected from the cool morning breeze but apparently the only table remaining. The cafe staff told us that usually people just leave their belongings on the tables but the thought of leaving two handbags in a busy cafe was really not an option for either of us. Disgruntled we then proceded to wait for our cakes and coffee which were subpar. The cakes were dry and the coffee was lukewarm. Needless to say we will not be returning to this cafe, a shame due to its beautiful location.

Will try one more time. Lovely surrounds, but the prices are way too high for some of things that they are serving. We loved the fry's and wedges, a lot comes in a serve. But the downside .... the coffee. I only drink long blacks and every one I have had is bitter, disappointing and quite ordinary. The cakes and slices are average but overpriced for what you are getting. For the prices they are charging I expect more not only from the quality of the food but the service as well.
Adakon
This place heaves on a Sunday so get there at 8am if you want a seat! Breakfast serves were MASSIVE. I'm a big eater but couldn't finish it. Food was average, nothing to rave about but it's kid friendly being in front of the Synergy playground. The cake/slice selection looked great so if you've got a sweet tooth do visit.
Gill
No customer loyalty here. Disappointed this morning, no seats so did the right thing and ordered takeaway coffees to sit on a bench outside (rather than take their crockery out into the park). Backfired big time when we were told we would have to pay 50c each for a paper cup to have a glass of water. Seriously, we have been going there most Sundays for nearly 3 years for a coffee/slice, shame.
Carina Cowan
Such a shame, service is dreadful and the food is average. The surroundings of course are stunning.
Kazzablanca13
Unexpectedly great food. I despise pay at the counter cafes but this place was packed so I suppose I understand that table service can be difficult. Lots of big groups of people were having lunch but the wait for the meals was worth it. Well balanced, good sized dishes. Priced at a premium for convenience of location, I suppose. But we were all impressed by the food...and freshly squeezed juices.

Breakfast at Zamia Cafe. I had my first breakfast at Zamia Cafe and I was disappointed. I could not believe that the scrambled egg was re-constituted! That stuff is not 'scrambled eggs' and the toast was too crisp and it was dry; not nice for the tourists to have that served up as scrambled eggs. I have always enjoyed lunch at this cafe, however: their rice, mushrooms, asparagus and roast tomato is a delicious lunch dish.

Too pricey. I've never actually had a whole meal here but I've had my fair share of coffee and snacks. I can't complain about the coffee or the food (except their macarons are terrible - way too much filling) however the prices for just about everything is pretty high. I still come here though because of the nice area

Overall a very good place for a light meal, it was very busy but our food came out reasonably quickly and everyone was satisfied with what they ordered

6/10 good cafe style food great venue but a 40 minute wait for 2 meals is unacceptable

"The Best Eggs Benedict In Perth". A big shout but one I've thought through. Love the food here. Decent coffee and a good atmosphere.

The ceaser salad with chicken wad fantastic, probably the best ceaser sauce I've tried. The lamb was perfectly cooked on the warm salad. Overall a great value meal, service was good and I would return for sure. Food 7/10 service 6/10 decor 7/10

So so.... I had greater expectations after the talking up that a few friends have given this place. <br/><br/>Good points: great location, really nice building, excellent service (if you don't mind having those pagers telling you when your order is ready), really well suited to groups - LOTS of open plan seating with lovely views.<br/><br/>The menu is quite varied and caters for breakfast/brunch/lunch and afternoon teas. The food is good quality and presentation is fine.<br/><br/>So why don't I like it - well the coffee first and foremost, it's a Dimattina blend, so nothing exciting happening here - my favourite label: inoffensive. And it's not cheap at $4.00 for a small flat white. :(<br/>In fact the whole menu is a bit on the rich side for the quantity you receive, $4.00 for a muffin, $9.50 for poached eggs (2 x eggs, 2 x sliced bread - that's all)<br/>but going for them, the quality of the food is very good!<br/><br/>Yes, the location is lovely but that doesn't really justify the pricing to me. I would come again but if it was for something special I'd go elsewhere... oh I can be harsh :P

Generous serving sizes .... Had the toasted focaccia style bun ... was a great serving size and good value... they're not just cashing in on their location as you might expect.

We will return to this place again. I love the food, ambiance and service.

The beautiful Synergy Parkland situated in Kings Park and Botanic Garden was the first environmental playground and community area of its kind in Australia. The Parkland features a 75m-long elevated walkway, a two-tiered island fort, large-scale replicas of dinosaurs and extinct Australian Fauna, a timber boardwalk and an interactive water misting forest.
