Review Koko Black - Perth

Amyolo
Service is a hit and miss here. Enjoyed it the previous time I came here around Easter. Came back today and it was just not the same. Lined up where it said "Wait here to be served" but staff proceeded to help the person behind instead, but then finally was given a menu and told to go find a place to sit and come back to order when ready. As I was dining alone (for a quick coffee break) I didn't really want to leave the table to go line up to order at the counter and lose the table as cafe was quite packed, so went to order online via MrYum to find out that they no longer used that service.

Price (4/5) Roughly the price of a coffee Drinks (5/5) Great hot chocolate. Not too sweet but not bland either. It’s one of the best hot chocolate I have drank. Area (5/5) Huge area with lots of chocolate to show and test before purchasing. Clean and beautiful interior. Overall (5/5) Nice cafe to enjoy chocolate. Recommended

This outlet is a hidden gem. Quiet on a Saturday night but the chocolate was real deal for lovers of the bitterness. The icecream was smooth with the raspberry cake. I liked it but 4 star is just right. It’s not overall a must try. The lady serving was awesome energy wise and a delight to meet, thanks!

One of our friend been here before and said it is nice place. She brought us and bought drinks and waffle. It was so disappointing.... waffle was very dry and not go well with things on the plate. Long black and cappuccino were just okay. Strawberry fruit drink was really bad. Barley you can taste some flavor. Atmosphere was good but one of the staff was bit rude. I will go back to buy some gift chocolate but not for dine in.

The tasty hot chocolate is to die for! Other offerings are very nice too, often it's hard to choose what to have. Prices are high, but it's well worth it. Very good and friendly service and comfortable seats.

Had dessert here with my mates last night. Delicious desserts. I had the Ices chocolate with salted caramel drink. Wow! Want that again. We shared a degustation chocolate desserts as you can see. They were excellent. I liked the fact that they weren’t excessively chocolate flavoured or sweet. Will be going back again!!!

I loveeeeee their ice chocolates. Probably my favourite ice chocolates around. Their desserts are always delicious and resented in creative and beautiful ways. Always enjoy myself when I come here. Only issue is that I overindulge with the sugar. But that's my problem, not theirs. Or is it... 🤔🤔

Lovely place for an evening dessert. I had the sharing plate for two, which is a great way to sample all the highlights of the menu at a fraction of the price. Service is also great! When one of our chocolate domes had failed to melt, our friendly server Everson immediately apologized and had it replaced. I will definitely be back :)

Delicious coffee and dessert

This was a pretty decent spot to stop for dessert after a lovely dinner. My dad and my husband both had the sticky date pudding which they loved, but I had the crumpets (wanted to stay lighter on the chocolate) but they were quite dry. We also shared a large cookie which was delicious! The hot chocolate was alright but dad said the affogato was the best he’s had! Service was pleasant and attentive but the venue needed a bit of a clean!
Some Like It Hot
Had the classic Belgian hot chocolate which came out nice and hot. Really rich and delicious. Had this with the praline chocolates. It’s not cheap but the chocolate is so good.

The ambience was really nice ....lovely decor...the chocolates were just amazing....staff was kind ,friendly and patient inspite of the time v were taking in deciding which flavors of chocolates v wanted...one star less for the limited variety in the dessert bar...overall good place to visit.<br/>Visited the place a second time and tried the black forest gateau which was absolutely awesome .... the best dessert I have had so far...I also tried the hazelnut gateau which was not very great .

<br/>Toasts are good and especially the ladies are so nice! Thanks for the serving on a crazy windy and cold day! Can’t believe this is summer in Perth, but the serving here warmed me up!

Great chocolate don't get me wrong, and the service is good - but its so boring, and bland. There is a place around the corner which is just so much more lively that I would prefer to visit. Voodoo?
Lisa Zechevich
This place is amazing. A little pricy. but considering location, vibe and looks its worth it. Will definitely come back for more. Can not wait!

The food here is very tasty, but has such copious amounts of sugar that it burns your teeth. Theb hot chocolate is a MUST, so I really recommend the Belgian Milk Hot Chocolate. The service is VERY slow, but the waitresses are friendly. The pricing is also really expensive though, so consider saving up for a month or two before coming here.
GetinmyBelly
Very consistent quality of desserts. Not a large food menu but it is always guaranteed to be good. Great selection of chocolate drinks to have. Lovely ambience and wait staff are always hospitable.
Marina Antich
Wow what a lovely cafe.. out of the many I have visited in Perth if at that koko black is magnificent and my favourite <br/>Love the decor, ambiance and delightful coffee and chocolatier range . Chocolate heaven !!
Lady X
The quality of desserts here is consistent. Most of the time I’m here to pick up a few chocolate truffles but this time I sat down to have some dessert. Absolutely loved the vanilla ice cream that was topped with salted caramel sauce. The ice chocolate and salted caramel drink was great too. You can never go wrong with vanilla and salted caramel really!
Ardalan
The store looks and feels good. Friendly staff, nice environment, good chocolate.<br/><br/>I especially loved the chocolate ice cream. I also recommend the  Chocolate<br/> & Salted Caramel Tart, as well as Black Forest Gateau. If you have questions the staff are very helpful in answering them. The prices could be a bit lower, but overall I recommend this place.
Sabrina Dee
I never EVER write reviews but i love this place. The service sticks out the most for me everyone is just soo friendly and always gives a big smile when you walk in. I only ever go to grab a takeaway hot chocolate (it is vegan woo!) And they BRING IT OUT to you when its ready. For a takeaway. A lot of their stuff is dairy free too. Keep up the good work guys ive never had a bad experience (:

Not for the faint of heart! The chocolate and sweets here are very decadent and perfect for indulging. Very high quality and the staff service is excellent. The setting is very clean and crisp which adds to this modern aesthetic. Super yummy and location is perfect!

Staff and service were amazing! Loved the ambience of the place. This place serves up one of the best coffees I've had so far here in Perth :) would definitely be back!

We managed to squeeze in 25min before they officially shut. The service was super quick as a result which was great I guess, but I thought closing at 7pm on a Thursday night was a bit early?<br/>It was totally worth the rush to have the Dark Chaos Reveal! Wow, what a dessert, I will be back often for that one! It's the perfect mix of cold, warm, crunchy, gooey and tasty. And I was pleasantly surprised to see it was only $10.50 which is justified given the complexity of the dish (and hence I would expect it to cost at least $15).<br/>Some of the chairs could do with replacing though, been through some chocolate accidents.
Shashi
Probably the best chocolate place in Perth. Huge range of dark all the way to white chocolates, all delectable, with every flavoring you can imagine. Decor is opulent, you feel classy though the prices are reasonable (tasting plate for 2 below was only ~$30). I wish I could post the video - they pour hot chocolate on the tasting plate making things flow and melt, revealing goodies inside ...it's very visually satisfying. The only downside was that our waiter didn't seem as impressed with the display as we were (they have done it 100s of times but for us it's a first, and a little enthusiasm would've gone miles). Nonetheless highly recommend this place.
Frankie
Coffee was ok. Hot chocolate my girlfriend got was yummy apparently. We got 3 chocolates each and was so delicious but very expensive, I've ate better for cheaper but not taking anything away from how nice they were. Service..... now! If they concentrated less on greeting new people at the door and actually dont take 20 mins to serve people they've seated they wouldnt have to keep turning new arrivals away because they would free up new tables. I suppose they are young and no idea regarding business so blinded by that logic, they definitely need a team leader who's on to it.
Foodie
Nice soy chai tea, they give you the opportunity to have the soy milk in the tea pot or on the side. I had mine with the tea, I added some sugar and it tasted excellent.
Finleyhimawan
Love their degustation menu as we always don't know what to order so we were sharing it between the three of us and it was more than enough for us. The dessert was good, the ambience and service was attentive too! Overall it is a good experience so we came out with a happy tummy.
Becky
For some reason I find this Koko Black to be significantly better than the one at Claremont. The hot chocolate is great. Though saying this, I still feel it used to be better. Not sure what, if anything has changed. <br/>The desserts are always spot on and can easily be shared between two. Plus at about $10 each, they're some of the cheapest desserts available in the city
Hannah Fredriksson
Can't get over how reasonably priced the desserts are. Most of them cost under $11. My partner and I shared the dessert degustation which is five of their desserts for under $30. Every single one of them was amazing and so texturally interesting. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. A lovely experience.

Food was so delicious but the customer service was really bad one of working their treated us in very bad way !! I don't know but the way that she talked to us and deal with us was bad I was so upset couldn't eat my desert & left the cafe
Fielbee1
My favorite go to place for chocolate drinks! LOVE LOVE LOVE the iced chocolate. So yummy! <br/>& the chicken avacado toast is a great snack too! <br/>Love this place!
Cookiecrumble
Nothing beats a stop off at Koko black whilst in the city. With relaxing modern interior and superb customer service and comfy seating, it's my favourite place to go for a chocolate fix. I can never go past their classic hot chocolate. Creamy, but not overly, the chocolate flavour is deep and rich. Warms my heart to the core! Also tried their lemongrass ginger tea which helped balance richness of the hot chocolate. Can't fault their brittles either, the best!
Rchitect. M
everything was perfect!! service, coffee, enviornment, cake and chocolates ❤ I enjoyed a lot with my cap which as topped with grated chocolate
PeckishKiwi
So good. Dessert tasting plate is anazing. Hightea is a great deal and one of the best Ive ever had. Can't fault. Perfect for a ladies lunch, baby or bridal shower
Dpizzy
Koko black make good coffees and have such a huge selection of chocolates to choose from. I always leave this place feeling sick but it's so good
Foodie In Paradise
Perfect place to satisfy my chocolate craving. I much prefer the seating at this branch compare to the one in Claremont. Good selection of dessert but it can get a bit chocolate overloaded if not sharing with someone else. <br/>Lovely ambience and friendly staffs.
Felicity
Been here several times and it had never failed to impress me! The staff are always friendly and had a good memory of who ordered which dessert. The presentation of the food and the taste is superb. I particularly liked the seats as it provides a little privacy for the diners, ideal for couples on dates
Jessy Stone
Amazing coffee, vast range of decadent chocolate, chic feel. Right in the heart of Adelaide city! Perfect place to take a break after a hard day of shopping! Staff are professional and attentive.
Fiona
This place is definitely fancier than your average chocolate/dessert place. Ordered the caramel tart with a scoop of ice cream and a hot chocolate. The tart was really nice as was the ice cream. The hot chocolate was disappointing though!

Me and my mum came to this lovely dessert place last weekend. I must say it looked very fancy and I absolutely loved the way this place is designed and set out for its customers.<br/><br/>Given the reviews I read over here and google. I definitely want to check this place out. I knew what we had to order since I already checked their menu beforehand. I ordered the desert degustation and two hot chocolates. Hazelnut Belgian hot chocolate for me and light hot chocolate for my mum.<br/><br/>I haven't drank hot chocolate for so long. This was definitely the best hot chocolate I've tasted so far. The hazelnut flavour was definitely recognized as I was drinking it. The creaminess and frothiness of my hot chocolate took my drinking experience to another level. I always looked forward to having small sips when eating my dessert. My mum loved her hot choc as well. Excellent design on top of them which gives us more reason to drink it.<br/><br/>Finally the dessert degustation tasted heavenly. It comes in 5 desserts. Each one of them tasted delicious in their own way. My personal favourite were the chocolate gateau with the hot chocolate sauce on top, chocolate caramel slice and the mini tart. The only thing I didn't like was the chocolate sponge filled with raspberry sauce. It was very sour. But it's acceptable since every other dessert is sweet you need a sour dessert to balance the sweetness. Also taste wise, every dessert tasted delicious. It wasn't a huge overload of sugar we are stuffing in our mouths, every dessert in the degustation has the right amount of sweetness to it. Also water is provided by the staff in these fancy little glasses just incase your mouth is dry from eating desserts.<br/><br/>The staff are very friendly. We were served by two lovely girls who were very helpful and always had a smile on their faces. When we got the degustation presented in front of us, the waitress described each dessert to us and poured the necessary sauces on top of each dessert. I thought I was in an elite restaurant for a minute. But this shows how professional and courteous the staff are towards their customers. I really appreciated it.<br/><br/>Lastly I'll finish off by saying the cost of everything. Everything in the menu is reasonably priced given the quality they have. $7 for hot chocolate and it costed me $30 for the degustation. Also have another person with you when you order the degustation, it's meant for two people. I think it's an excellent choice to choose from since you get exposed to five desserts and the when you come in next time you know which specific dessert you want to eat. So the price for it is not bad and worth it for two people.<br/><br/>It's conveniently located in a secluded place beside the underground station. It's cosy and a great place to take your family and loved ones. I'll definitely be back here again for the hot chocolate and try a new dessert.<br/>
Ben Goodman
Amazing hot chocolate. Pick a desert blindly and you will not fail to be satisfied. The chocolate selections for sale are indulgent and the chocolate itself is of extremely high quality. And the staff are friendly and attentive.
John Finkelde
Koko Black chocolate is sensational. Rich without being sickly sweet. And my dad loves it so it makes birthday and fathers day gifts easy.<br/><br/>Coffee is ok.<br/><br/>Service is extra good. Staff are helpful as well as happy!<br/><br/>A waitress just gave me a free sample! I'm loving this place even more!
Christilyn Carmen
Absolutely love this dessert, so decadent & rich but I dig that kind of stuff (': The chocolate coated dome had a really lovely surprise of icecream and a tiny bit of sorbet in the middle which I did not expect at all!! Overall a really good experience, great atmosphere and customer service👍🏼 They've really up their game with the new dessert degustation! <br/><br/>$30 to be shared

Good strong coffee and some lovely desserts to go with it. Had some rich chocolates to go with it and felt very spoiled afterwards. Not the cheapest in town but it's Perth and nothing is ever that cheap.
Der Fluod Blurger
I always love going to Koko Black Perth. The dining experience can be very intimate in the booths or exciting at the larger tables. The table service is fantastic and you legitimately can't find a better place to finish off a date in Perth. <br/>This week we had the greatest experience in the salon with a delightful lady named Elsa. Her charming personality and great attitude made our experience wonderful. She took the time to answer all of our questions and we felt no rush - which is refreshing in retail. Elsa is the ideal front end staff member. Definitely made the entire experience.
Dale & Hannah
Very indulgent, the desserts are exquisite and reasonably priced. Dale had the Alchemy Gateau which was super rich and dark. I had the dark chaos reveal and although the 'reveal' part didn't go to plan, it tasted unreal. Each of our desserts was only $10.50 which is pretty good value for the quality. We also loved the hot chocolate with cinnamon. Great place to satisfy your sweet tooth, love it!

What else can I say about this late night dessert place?! (Only on Friday and Saturday) We came in to this HUGE cafe with endless tables and a chocolate browsing area. We were seated and handed menus and water. I was tossing up between many items; the salted caramel delice, chocolate gateau, salted caramel tart and the baked almond and walnut brioche swirl. I finally decided on the chocolate gateau ($10.50) with a scoop of vanilla icecream ($4.00). Even though the cafe was pretty crowded, my dessert came in 5 minutes. The icecream was a generous scoop, and the chocolate gateau was big!! And served with chocolate soil, which I sprinkled on my icecream. The icecream was rich and creamy, and the chocolate soil gave the creamy vanilla that chocolate crunch. The gateau had a layer of chocolate ganache, salted caramel, cake, chocolate mousse, cake and a biscuit base at the bottom. Together they had the perfect amount of sweetness, crunch, and salted caramel delight. On top of the gateau was a mini chocolate bar with 8 mini squares, and a gold leaf. Fantastic cakes, service and presentation!!

Decent chocolatier with variety of options. We ordered hot chocolate with orange and it was pretty good. The 'Dark Chaos Reveal" was unique. A white chocolate semifreddo with a hint of orange in the middle served in a chocolate dome with warm chocolate sauce, sounds amazing, right? Although I would prefer the dome to be completely melted once you pour the warm chocolate. We also had 4 of their small chocolates, and we were happy with all of them. Our favourite was the Rose Jelly and the Baileys. The Pistachio and Gianduja Truffle were also pleasant. We will come back. Definitely

Impressed by the Service, by the hot chocolate and Dessert Degustation. Everything is 5/5!!<br/>Superb quality and experience. It's a chocolate heaven for chocolate lover. No ordinary chocolate cafe.. Be prepared to be wowed!
Dee Dee
I absolutely enjoyed the dessert today. The Vanilla & Salted Caramel Spectacular was really good! We ordered Light Belgian Hot Chocolate which was very smooth and creamy and especially enjoyable in this winter weather. Will definitely go back for more desserts!

Tired of shopping or waiting for your partner to finish shopping? Just finish eating Vietnam meals or Ribs and Burgers and looking for something sweet? Do dropby at Koko Black located right smack in the centre of Perth CBD.<br/><br/>Koko Black offers some of the best and richest chocolate I have ever tasted. Yes, compared to some other chocolate dessert place, Koko may have lesser items on its menu. But instead of variety, Koko focuses on quality as each glass of chocolate is ensured to be mouth-wateringly super delicious. I recommend its classic ice chocolate or the ice strawberry chocolate!! <br/><br/>Plenty of sitting area with friendly staffs ready to serve you. Prices are slightly higher to compensate for the premium chocolate and perhaps - convenience of location.
MikTumTum
Hazelnut hot chocolate... My friend! That is what you shall order! My pupils dialted and I said "babe! That's the best hot chocolate I've had in my life! "<br/>Wasn't too cray about the little bits of chokies but their chocolate is primo, clean and will get you in a better mood if you were having a boo day. Great service and recommendation, buzzing vibe, unpretentious with a reasonable price for some of the good stuff.
Williespants
Good coffee, great chocolate. I usually go for their seasonal menu choices as it offers a nice little variety of sweets to try. This city location can get busy with the work crowd on weekdays, but plenty of quiet periods to walk in. Their creme brulee tart is a must try! The pastry on that is the best I've had in Perth.
LittleAsianGirl
Great place to catch up with friends over cakes and coffee. For me I found it just another Dessert place. Some of the cakes a little too sweet for me, as I don't have that big if a sweet tooth.
PerthfectBreakfast
I swear the portions keep getting smaller but the price keeps getting higher! However I would choose koko black over San churro any day in a heart beat because the food is better and it's proper table service. The hot chocolate/chocolate affogatos are a must and I recommend the dessert degustation which changes seasonally but their chocolate mousse is a stand out!
LittleGirlBigFood
I love koko black. All locations please me. The hot Choc is certainly a fine drop although not as good as I would expect being that it is indeed Koko Black...
Car
Hit & miss with the hot chocolate - Claremont store is much better. Looks like the staff knows how to work faster & more efficiently. A few times we went here, customer service has been very disappointing. Massive line in front of the store (during a cold & windy day) whilst there were SIX empty tables (4 of them 2 seater table). Waitress were seen either chatting on the phone, or cleaning more empty tables!!
Foodieyuka
A bit expensive($7 for hot choco, 10.5 for the cake), but my friend and i really enjoy the afternoon tea there with excellent staff service and high quality chocolate.
Nina Mohd Sani
Chocolate heaven I must say! Desserts are so delicious especially the soy hot chocolate, salty and sweet. If you don't know what to get someone as a gift, they have gift boxes (handmade chocolate) which is cute 😍
Ems A Foodie
The hot choclate Mocha is to die for. The Salted caramel Delice is rich but the mousse provide the right amount of balance. Their signature Chocolate Alchemy Gateau is amazing and I want to keep going back until I have tried EVERYTHING on the menu. Beautiful interior and friendly staff too!
Nikosono
Best chocolates in town! Always served with good tunes in the background and the Koko Black team rocks! My faves : ice coffee, champagne truffle, walnut chocolate and their magic cashew brittle
Chicolicaaa
<br/>A place full of chocolate of course is where you wanna be!<br/>Im a big fan of this place, yummy desserts, very friendly staff in both Claremont and Perth, nice atmosphere and good service.<br/>A bit pricy.<br/>Ice mocha, ice chocolate are very rich and delicious .<br/>Chocolate affogato is a must try if you love chocolate.<br/>The degustation for two is very good and reasonable price compared to the rest of menu.
Angela Yang
Wonderful hot chocolate, more milk like viscosity but packed with delicious chocolate! Also had the chocolate mousse and I was blown away by now amazing it was. If you have a sweet tooth you will start living here!
OnePointFive
Wanted to try their Belgian Hot Chocolate Mocha but it's quite pricey ($6.5). So I tried their Latte instead. The milk was too hot, hence I couldn't really taste the coffee? A bit disappointed. They have impressive looking desserts on display which better while dining in, not take away. I am keen to try them next time.
Rhiannon.g.foster
I've been before and had great food. However, we planned an Easter Monday trip here and checked their website which DID NOT say it was closed, after specifying the other Easter Weekend days that it WAS closed. Got here and it WAS CLOSED! Terrible customer service to not announce a closed day for a chocolate store on the Easter break!
Justine Harris
We both had the Chocolate Alchemy Gateaux - it was lovely, but very rich. I'm glad that I stuck to drinking water - adding iced chocolate to the mix would've been too much.
Steve AR
The chocolate is divine with a huge range of exquisite flavours of which we sampled a fair few. The aurelia champagne truffles were a standout as were the single malt whiskey handcrafted. The coffee was excellent. Best of all was the friendly and attentive service. The lady helping us couldn't have been kinder and more helpful. Definitely a place to return to for a different experience and a big treat.
FineDiners
We had the High Tea which consisted of a dessert degustation plus some savoury items. Loved the dessert and its presentation. The service was great, the staff were very attentive when we asked if we could change tables for an extra person.
J Smith
Their hot chocolate is sinfully worth all the calories. Grabbed a few bite size chocolates and yes they are pricey but they are snippets of heaven. Service is ok (apart from one encounter with an incredibly snarky girl doing seating).
Dex Black
Friendly staff and modern decor worth lots of room to move around the tanks and display cases. Average coffee. The chocolates though are awesome.
Everyday Weekends (Yoshika)
Love, love, love their soy hot chocolate. I'm so glad they changed to sourdough bread for the vegetarian toasted sandwiches. The sandwich and soy hot chocolate is usually my favourite combination as I love a bit of sweet and salty. Koko Black is more on the pricey side, but the chocolates are yummy and the atmosphere is lovely. The desserts can get a bit heavy though. The coffee is really good too. I only wish that they were open at night time during the weekday.
Asian's Taste
Ice coffee with ice cream is the best option in this hot weather...it can helped you to cool it down and with side kick mango chocolate And bailey choco....definitely top notch..can't argue with that<br/>All of them are perfecto..
Dizko
Franchise coffee done right with amazing results!!! I don't understand why this place isn't packed!! You have so many average places nearby but this place knows how to impress. Chocolates inside are amazing and priced according. Feel like a treat in the inner city, this is the place.
Izzy Alyce
Came here for a coffee and hot chocolate. My latte was great and my partners hot chocolate was nice as well, it would want to be for $7 for a small hot chocolate!
Kent H Lee
Nice chocolates. Nice change to chocolate cafes like San Churos, not as busy and much nicer inside. Tea and coffees just standard, only go for the chocolate
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Expensive but perfect for a treat! I love a good dessert, and this is place to find it in perth! The chocolate selection is expensive with every flavour combo you could think of. I love the rose water truffles and the candied orange! The coffee is good too, and on last visit I tried the Apple Crumble Panna Cotta - amazing! Smooth and creamy with plenty of apple.
Paula Astria
Break time favourite! *like* i can skip lunch just to fulfill my need of drinking chocolate and eat cakes. Best drinks are the iced chocolate, classic Belgian hot chocolate and salted caramel iced chocolate. Try dessert degustation to taste most of their dessert in smaller portion.
Rooty Rooster
Though pricey, the deserts were absolutely delicious and definitely not something you would find in your everyday cafe. Although I love the taste and coming here, the price is a drawback so I usually come here just for the drinks, which I find are well priced for what you get. <br/><br/>I would recommend trying the classic belgian hot chocolate and the cappuccino for drinks, and the chocolate ice cream for desert!

KOKO Black located in 140 Perth an urban fashion and food destination in Perth CBD. As I was hungry I opted to try the tart, which was very small and luckily I also ordered the panacotta. Both were lacking in flavour and overall I was disappointed, the panacotta was not the correct texture, it should of been light and creamy instead it was more like a cheese cake consistency. I was also confused why they added oats to what I thought was a dessert, it was more of a breakfast option. However, the chocolates and venue were lovely, the staff were very friendly and eager to help. Also check out the amazing iced chocolate that my friend chose. I had serious food jealous. Stick to the chocolate as that's what KOKO black do best.
PerthFoodieGirls
Delicious desserts and range of chocolate! So hard to choose what you want! Wish they did samples of their chocolate though. <br/><br/>Hot chocolate was ok - flat white was good! <br/>On the dessert the peanut brittle was thick and hard to bite. <br/><br/>Love their dessert degustation though - a foodie dessert dream :)
Amber
I am a Koko Black regular, although not at this location. The staff were friendly to start, but when we asked for a drink to be remade as it hardly tasted of chocolate, the service level seemed to drop. I had a white chocolate, passion fruit, cheesecake, which was lovely. <br/>The reason the rating is only 2.5 is because I have been to so many amazing Koko Black stores, and I feel this one wasn't up to scratch.
Akshi Pilani
Ohh the desserts 😊😊<br/>I just love the presentations and plating of the desserts they serve..<br/>I have been there quite a few times and never came out disappointed 👍🏻<br/>
Alexielle
I go there every school holiday to catch up with a friend. The coffees are amazing and their dessert are to die for! We try a different dessert every time and each time it's a wonderful surprise! The staff is nice and attend your table as soon as you walk in. What a nice place for afternoon coffee!
Yoga Z
Luv it. So happy it opens in CBD. I always went Claremont for it. Their chocolate are so great n all the sweets are charming. It is a good place for afternoon tea ☕️
EnjoyinGodsBlessing
Chocolate heaven^^ love their drinks and desserts.. friendly service and speedy assistance.. place is great for hang out, wish they open more store maybe closer to my house :p
Anneke Swara
I ordered the iced mocha, as well as that day's special: milk chocolate cheesecake. Both were incredibly delicious and would definitely recommend. I stayed there for a couple of hours to get some study done, having a very lovely afternoon in solitude, especially with the exceptional service they gave me :)<br/><br/>Perfect place for coffee and cake dates with a friend, and even more perfect for studying or having some well-deserved 'me' time, what with the inside-voice level of noise. This place I much commend!
Livaus
We went to this place on Friday evening. Credit for being open somewhat late in the evening, but table control leaves a lot to be desired (sitting 2 people at 6 person  table, while seating 6 people at a 2 person table); tea was weak and apple panna cotta was served too cold to have any enjoyable flavour in it. Worst thing -  even though they charge a small fortune for a coffee and cake, there is no bathroom on premises.
Perth Food Blogger
This place is delicious. The chocolate and desert range is fantastic, the coffees are generally high quality and the service is top notch.<br/><br/>Try the little creme brulees, absolutely to die for!
CiderCraze
Cinnamon hot chocolate and Chili hot chocolate are my all time favs. Things are quite pricey but the quality is consistent, service is good too. It's always packed with patrons. One other place that's good to catch up with friends and hang out.
Food Hunter
good place to date with le boyfie. too much sweet for the chocolate cake, but who cares! definitely fall in love with their ice chocolate! personal think that is much more better than San Churro.
MF
Lovely setting with table service which was a nice change <br/>Service was good<br/>I had mocha hot chocolate and we also ordered a soy hot chocolate<br/>They were delicious but only just warm<br/>Quite large cup but for $7 each it needed to be
Fred
They close early sometimes so don't plan around going here for a late dessert .otherwise it is ok....this 140 minimum character review is ordinary
Alyssa
I have been to this place quite a few times now, and they do not disappoint. Their desserts are decadent and sinfully delicious. However, one one occasion, a server was a bit rude to us when she asked for our order and served our food with a frown. But that was just once. This will always be one of my favourite dessert places here in Perth.
Danielle Cheng
This place was really packed on a Friday night around 9 o'clock. Just be warned that you might have to sit outside if you do not want to wait to have your dessert inside. Sitting outside wasn't too bad though there were walls on both sides that blocked the wind. Note that when you sit outside you have to go inside to make your order. Wasn't too bad though as you get to see how the staff prepare your food and the mount of concentration and precision the staff have will amazing you. Presentation of food is always exquisite at Koko Black. We ordered the dessert degustation. We shared this between 3 people as it was really sweet. Only thing different between the two stores is that The Claremont outlet had the winter menu special and Perth didn't. Will be back to try more.
Russ
Service was great. We were met with a smile and placed in a little 2 seater booth, great atmosphere. We had a hazelnut hot chocolate and a Belgium hot chocolate.... Just what we needed to warm us up on a cold winters night. <br/><br/>I also ordered a "Spectacular Vanilla Bean Ice cream" hmmmm what came out was a standard drinking glass with two scoops of ice cream and a pot of what looked like caramel sauce.... Not really "Spectacular" very tasty but..... Spectacular it wasn't. The sauce was more a mix of golden syrup, sort of butter scotchy, maybe sort of caramel... The jury is still out on the little pot of warm sauce. <br/><br/>We went to a Koko Black in Melbourne a year or so ago. This place is definitely bigger, and brighter, but the quality there was better.<br/><br/>And what is it about anything for sale inside a glass box? The product ... No matter what it is, automatically quadruples in price... They have chocolate for sale out the back ... Yep in little jewellery style glass cases... Great marketing... People were getting their purses and wallets put the whole time we were eating there... Just to get some chocolate from behind the glass wall... Not that there is anything wrong with that. :-)

I must have the worst luck. Everytime I come to the Perth CBD Koko Black store they have run out of several items on the menu so I never get to choose what I really want to order. Admittedly, each time was on a Friday or Saturday night after dinner which might explain why hot chocolate flavours and desserts are always cleared out before I make it into the premises. <br/><br/>They were evidently understaffed as they struggled to clear tables, take orders and serve desserts. Perhaps it would be prudent for the manager to have one or two extra staff on board on busy nights? <br/><br/>Just as we were about to leave, I spotted the Raspberry Dome which was not on the menu and immediately ordered one as my second (or third?) dessert despite already downing a hot chocolate and a Chocolate Alchemy Gateau. The Raspberry Dome tasted slightly different to when I last had it in the Claremont store. The raspberry centre was quite small and not as runny.

I have heard great things about this and I would have to agree. Considering this place is constantly busy, the staff are very attentive and the service is two thumbs up. <br/>Ordered the apple crumble panna cotta and it was a little disappointing. It could have been a lot better. It wasn't a smooth texture it was curdled. Also ordered the Belgian Spoil and that was absolutely delish. Talk about a chocolate overload. I loved the chocolate mousse they had, would be favourite!

Great and friendly service! Love the chai tea, and lovely of the staff to accommodate my request to add milk into the pot of chai tea. Also like the fact that they put the honey on the side so that we can adjust the sweetness to our liking.

I love Koko Black and this one is spot on. The service is nearly always brilliant, the desserts are amazing and the coffee is good. It's expensive, but then I guess there isn't really any competition right now.

As a regular, this place hasn't disappointed me once! Rich, decadent and delicious desserts at affordable prices. The staff are always very friendly, we even had one of the staff behind the counter approach us to inform us about dietary requirements which was appreciated! The shop itself is very clean and the fit out is beautiful. Koko Black never disappoints.

Had a really good time here. Service was quick and prompt while the food was just amazing. As expected, they do really great hot chocolate!!

Came here for the first time for a break from shopping. This place has a different atmosphere to the one in Claremont. I think I prefer the decor of the Claremont store better. <br/>I had the mocha and it was overly sweet. I noticed towards the end that there were chunks of unmelted chocolate at the bottom. I'm glad I didn't stir property to melt the chocolate because I don't know if I would have been able to drink it. <br/>The service was efficient and friendly. The only downside is that I found the booth seat chairs to be a little too narrow. Not enough room for my handbag and shopping bags. May be a suggestions for the place to have a bag hook?

I had the salted caramel desert which I would have eaten again. You get hot sauce to pour over which is perfect for this weather. Went with the hazelnut hot chocolate which was lovely and sweet. The down side was the ginger chocolate which did not have any ginger flavour.

Chocolate is amazing. I think that's enough said! Coffee and milkshakes are good, as are cakes and slices - whilst pricey, well worth the money!

The hot chocolate is pricey, even for Perth, but it's worth it! Try the chilli hot chocolate - it's something special - with spice that hits your throat but doesn't burn your lips. A great winter warmer.

I've always been a fan of Koko Black chocolate but this if the first time I've actually sat down in the store. All I can say is the food and ambience was great and the service was exceptional.

Beautiful hot chocolate and boxed chocolates as expected, but the store is so artfully set out and well maintained that it's a great experience. Staff were perfectly welcoming and helpful.
