Our experience started even as we approached the cafe, with a lovely friendly waitress asking if we would like a table for two. We were led into what appears to have been a large house converted into a café. There are many rooms and nearly every table was full. The menu is full of variety. I had to join a long queue to order, but it moved quite quickly, so i didn't mind the queue at all. All the waitresses served us with a smile, everyone was pleasant. The décor is simple white paint and lots of green plants on shelves in the walls. Simple but pretty.
I ordered Kale and corn hotcakes and an iced coffee with soy milk. My partner ordered the Sticky pork belly and an iced coffee.
The coffees came out very quickly, which was impressive given the large amount of people present.
The food came out about ten minutes after ordering, which was impressive given that the place was full. The taste was incredible. I have finally found a place to give my beloved tbsp a run for its money. The hot cakes were full of kale, spinach and corn, there was a generous portion of haloumi cheese, with a perfectly poached egg on top and a sour cream sauce. My partner's pork belly came perfectly cooked and well-spiced with tasty kimchi. Overall cost was less than thirty dollars per person. THIS is breakfast done right. THIS is what Perth cafes should be aspiring to. This is on par with my beloved tbsp. I will definitely return. Soon. 10/10
We love Little Banksia, regularly have breakfast or lunch here. Service is great, coffee is good, juices and smoothies always freshly made. The breakfast menu is full of great choices, and there are also lots of yummy muffins and cakes to choose from. They have good gluten free toast (this is important to us, lots of gluten free bread is disgusting). It gets very busy on weekend mornings but is worth the wait. You can book.
Loved this little cafe. I ordered the porridge and it was that good that I’m only going to order that every time I go! I also had a soy latte which wasn’t sickly like some soy lattes I’ve had at other places. All the indoor seating was booked out all day, I wasn’t aware you needed to book. I definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to go back.
Called in while out on a bike ride and based on Zomato reviews. Really impressed. Despite COVID restrictions the food was impressive. Fresh ingredients. Really tasty. Coffee snob husband also adored the coffee and is likely to be back for more despite not living locally.
Enjoyed the food, good menu selection. Nice outdoor alfresco seating, friendly staff. Inside was a bit stuffy and was hard to hear conversations due to the close proximity of other tables.
My friend and I popped into this cute cafe mid week for lunch. We sat outside in the sunshine, which was lovely. Service was prompt, accommodating and friendly. I had the chicken burger which was huge, tasty and great value for money! Loved the fresh juices too.
Came here for brunch on a weekday for the first time. Coffee was good. We ordered the pancake and the slow cooked beef shin. The beef dish was delicious. The pancake taste okay. All the food was well presented. Service was very friendly.
Lovely little neighbourhood cafe. Menu options are different to your standard Perth cafe, and very tasty. My go to is the poke bowl but there are plenty of good options in the menu. Good coffee.
We wanted to go to Harvest Expresso to celebrate the collection of our new car. But it was closed. So we detoured and came here instead. It is a quaint little cafe. The coffee was how we wanted it to be.
My pancakes were beautiful and my darling had a yummy healthy salad. The weather was amazing! What a fantastic way to celebrate!
Had the Banksia breakfast while my mate had the B.R.A.T. Bacon was crispy, as stated. Eggs perfectly poached. Baked beans with chorizo and the rosti was to die for!
Set up in such a calming and peaceful atmosphere. Had the pleasure of sitting outside on a sunny winter’s day!
Took to long to get food, staff were not morning people! Banana bread was ok but wasn’t toasted like we asked for, avo on toast was very good just disappointed about the time it took. Overall presentation of the cafe was very well presented.
You know food looks good when you digged in before you realise that you had not taken. Photo of the food .
Their dishes are designed to be an eye candy for your photo album . It’s like the sultry mistress you never want people to know in case it gets too popular and you have to wait a long time for a seat.
The place had a very cozy feel especially the outdoor seating , with nice artificial lawn and big outdoor shade. This would be a perfect cafe on an early morning bike ride .
I had the sticky pork belly with kimchi , it had nice contrasting texture with the crunch coming from the friend shallots and spice from the Sirracha mayo .
I was eyeing the slow cooked brisket and the buttermilk pancake . But that can wait for next time .
This is surely a hidden gem
