Review Print Hall - Perth

Enjoyed lunch here in the amazing atmosphere. Leather seating, and a lofty wood feel. I had an angel hair pasta with crab. Presentation wise it needed work and the flavour was good but the quality of the pasta ... not as good as it could be. I still enjoyed it. The amount was right for me (I get full quickly) and had a small amount of room to try a dessert of a crumbled custard and coffee. 3 to 4 star for food overall, ambience made it a 4.

Really nice selection of beers and spirits. Food was great and was service was fast!

Excellent space, delicious drinks and prompt service on a Thursday night. Would love to try food but had a booking elsewhere. Tucked away in the streets of St Georges Terrace away from traffic

Bland food and shockingly slow service. Downstairs bar was fine, but 6 of us went for a meal upstairs. 15 mins after being seated we were asked if we wanted drinks, then before we got the drinks they managed to take the food order and deliver it. Food was average with hits a chilli to substitute the lacking flavour. took over half an hour for our second round of drinks to arrive. Service was that bad the waiter even joked about a discount, with this level of service it should have been more than just a joke.

Great range of drinks, good food & service everytime I've been.
Lara McVeigh
Great venue but not enough food served at the Top 50 tasting
Happy Traveler
Nice place, Huge choice of wine , spirits and cocktails.

2nd rime here. Good food and friendly service. The $55 feed me menu was a good idea.

Hard to rate. When our group of 6 arrived it was initially for a drink. Got a table easily and enjoyed the ambience and music. So a few brownie points for that Decided on a quick bite to eat and were seated quickly. Attentive wait staff. Ordered 2 pan fried gnocchi, 2 pizzas ( prawn and anchovies, and mushroom and rocket). Well the gnocchi and chips arrived about 15 to 20 mins before the pizzas! And the pizzas when they did arrive were extremely disappointing! There were a total of 4 prawns on one whole pizza and it was pretty hard to find an anchovy! Mushroom pizza not much better and both quite dry. Gnocchi was just ok certainly not a big serve and not worth $27! Chips were probs the best part of the meal! We complained about meals coming out at different times to the manager who paid lip service to our concerns. Lots of talking and did offer free dessert but tbh we were just over it and wanted to leave. Come on Print Hall you need to do better. Food and attitude not good enuf. We wont be back for a meal thats for sure.

Very poor service. Do the people that work at the ground floor bar even want to be here? Treat your patrons with some respect and even maybe a smile and you might actually get more patrons come through the door. Would not recommend...spend $20 on a mediocre cocktail elsewhere. Not even a busy night just check your sales register the evidence is there.

Just popped in for a quickie refreshing drink yesterday as it was sooo hot ! - best wine spritzer I have ever had ! We have had dinner here on a previous occasion and it was divine ...great spot ...I used to work in this building in The West's Classified Ads Department 25 years ago ! ...

Went here Saturday night with friends and were very disappointed with the meals which were very poor quality for the price and arrived at different times (20 minutes apart) for 2 out of the 6 guests. This was bad food service management. It’s not pleasant feeling guilty either ‘tucking in’ or waiting and it going cold, before the others’ food arrives. We reluctantly complained and were confronted by a 10 minute (I kid you not) argument with the manager who thought that we should have expected the pizzas to be late! Is it really so unreasonable to expect main courses to arrive together? Didn’t he learn anything about timing at catering college or from the multiple food programs (Masterchef, MKR etc.) on the TV? Think he offered us free desserts but following his rebuttal we couldn’t get out of the place quick enough and will not be back.

1 x beer 1x wine =$29 = never going back again and will never promote Print Hall again. The red haired staff member gave me a tax receipt ratherthan an itemised receipt.
Pat Pocock
The service from waitress Ines made the evening, and the food was excellent too!

Ate in the Apple Daily, I have never seen a wine list like it. 80 pages long and nothing under $45 a bottle. Of course we drank the one for $1900 using Simon P's credit card:)

Great bar, staff excellent, good food. Highly recommend 😊
Aaron Prince
Attended a function, waited over an hour for a welcome cocktail, service in the private room slow... food cold... choose wisely if you want to have an event for 22 people...
Sarah Croton
The staff, service and food were beyond excellence. Can't wait to come back to Perth again for this wonderful experience. Our thanks to Damien and Julia for your exceptional service and keen attention to detail!

Paid $22 for an espresso martini. Glass was under half full. Seriously?

Print Hall it's for me one of the best venue in Perth, specialy the Monday night mussels!!! Delicious food and nice atmosphere.

Excellent food, excellent service. The oysters were to die for 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We were at Bobs Bar last night ..... love the atmosphere and great music. With the blinds down (are they new?) and the roof shut, it was lovely and warm. A question regarding the measures of sparkling wine? The glasses are not standard sparkling wine flutes, and are filled approx half way by the bar staff. How is Print Hall ensuring the correct measures are being supplied to your customers? I couldn't see any measures on the wine glass to indicate the correct measure had been supplied, I question if this is legal???? Shouldn't all drinks be decanted to the correct measure? On one visit to the bar, my wife had the last of a bottle of sparkling and I seriously question if she did received an accurate measure of drink. Considering your prices are higher than average, I believe you must ensure your customers are getting value for money and you do not leave people doubting your ethics. My opinion is, I think the glasses Print Hall use are terrible, as most people will expect a full glass to be presented to them.

Service negligible. Pretty underwhelming. Would I go there for special dinner, probably not. Team talks proceed when customers require serving .? I don't get it. Onwards I think

Not a great experience, as follows. The restaurant Apple daily does not take bookings for food, we were told we should be seated in half an hour. We found an alternative place to eat after being in the bar 1 hour and 10 minutes. Furthermore, the sparking white wine we had by the glass and came in different measurements, one round was only half a glass and when we discussed this with the bar tender, he just said that was the standard measure, which is strange because the other two rounds were not a half measures!!

After drinks at Bob's Bar we had dinner ar Apple Daily. Food and service was great. A few more vegetarian options would be good, but the vege ones we had were delicious

Food was good. Tasty and decent serving size. Was very busy when we went but staff did well under pressure. Drinks were quiet pricey but understandable for a city bar.
Foodie In Paradise
Came here on a work function. The food was delicious especially their main course ( steak and fish). Didn’t like the dessert that much. Sadly there don’t have any honey to go with my green tea after dinner. Service was very friendly.

The staff are friendly but the place is noisy. Food is great, high quality menu, it’s attached to the bar so fab wine list and drinks. If I’m paying this kind of $$$ I want something more intimate and quiet.
Robin
Print Hall, Perth's first multi level dining and bar precinct, opened in the spring of 2012. The venue pays homage to its heritage-listed history, the old Newspaper House on St Georges Terrace. The venue boasts four levels of culinary and refined drinking options for every moment.
Lakmonsta
Gorgeous venue. Great wine and drinks list. The bar snacks are not the most memorable. We had chips (standard) and chorizo on a bed of rocket leaves. I expected more zest. It’s very loud on a Friday night so not easy to talk to your friends. I’ll still go back for the great location.
Chung & Sarah
Dropped by for a work lunch, nice atmosphere, great range of beers and tasty food. Paired up with the entertainment book discount is a must to give it better value for money
Sam
Beautiful space with high ceilings, refurbished old world charm and huge classy wrap around bar. Seems like a good place for after work drinks. Staff were very friendly. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, I had dropped in for a quick dinner after a meeting before heading to airport and was disappointed with my meal. I had the crumbed veal with cabbage salad. Description sounded very fancy. But in reality it was a pretty standard crumbled veal. Thin and dry. Mostly could taste the fried crumbs and yummy cappers on top. And for $36 just not worth it.
Irizoo
Been there for lunch, food is good, loved the mushroom and bresaola crostini, service is quick and friendly, but when I went to pay the waiter asked me if I want leave them tips, of course I would but I felt a lit bit pushed and made me uncomfortable. Didn’t like that at all...

Went for a cuppa some months back. Loved the ambience. Lots of options available. Fell in love with the place mostly because of its ambience and coffee options :)
Andyy Leigh
Nice atmosphere, delicious food! Service was sloppy. Quite pricey for the quality, never the less still amazing! Will definitely dine again!
Good Food Good Mood
One of my favourite spots in P town for the slick interior design inside a gorgeous heritage building. The cocktails are sensational and I love that you can have one on each floor and build your way up to the rooftop bar. Great food too
J Smith
It gets silly packed on Fridays after work so if you plan on going try to go a tad earlier. Getting a drink can be quite a wait. I prefer it on quieter days. Cool design housed in a heritage building and stylish bar fit out. It's a good place to catch up over drinks. Cocktails are skilfully made.
J-in-Perth
A bit quiet for a Saturday night, but classy & quiet enough to be able to talk. A great wine list, and friendly (perhaps too friendly?) service
Fred
Terrible service. We ordered a glass of wine and ended up with a shot of wine in a huge glass. When we questioned the size, the bar manager came over and gave us a French lesson in wine appreciation by pouring the wine into another glass, then back into the original glass. "You see, it is a standard glass of wine". Great demonstration but the $12-50ml glass of wine you ripped us off with is now a 45ml rip off glass of wine. Maybe Frenchie was just trying to convince us that good things come small packages. Whatever helps you.
Casey
The mussels were very tasty! The food and ambiance is great! The manager there is very friendly and attentive doing an amazing job making sure customers needs met. Recommend a visit even for a drink
Joanna
Went on a Saturday, not too busy which was nice, bar staff were very attentive. We order two cocktails, they were good quality at typical Perth prices
Matt
Awesome bar in an awesome location.  Print Hall is always packed to the rafters, especially on a Friday arvo.  The different eating options allow for every budget, with pretty decent food all.  Great place to meet for after work drinks.
Candy
so so so snobby, and so so so expensive. <br/>Food was good though :)<br/>Got so much attitude from the wait staff, yet they stuffed up our order.
William Ooi
The daily special is worth looking at. Try the red bulb cocktail. I like the fried chicken with hot sauce for pure unadulterated comfort food. The Oyster I find probably the freshest you can get in Perth.
The Taste Bud
Print Hall is our go-to bar in the city! You really get the best of both worlds - chill vibe downstairs.. and upbeat atmosphere on top. They have a large variety of quality drinks and gourmet meals to choose from. Staff are always happy and up for a laugh, even the security enjoy themselves! It's in the perfect spot if you're up for some bar-hopping as their neighbors are pretty cool too ;)
Tishen Gounden
Beautiful bar and nice experience, prices are to much, guess they charging way to much to pay for the rent of the venue, bought a pint a glass of rose and 2 single shots of tequila with ice ,total of Bill $76.00 what the! What witch craft is this , maybe have lower drinks to get more business not suck the customers your currently have dry. Pros the venue is upmarket cons prices of drinks verdict: rather have a average venue with reasonable drink prices
LittleAsianGirl
Came here for a work function. Was pretty surprised that the food was actually pretty good! And so was the service. I really enjoyed the Salt and Pepper cuttlefish with soy and chilli. Simple and delicious. The Mushroom fried rice with egg, pickled mustard, cucumber, and coriander was another of my favourite. The pork and shitake san choy bao with chestnut and lettuce cup was pretty tasty too. Great selection of food.
LifestyleByLily
We are fans of the cocktail menu at The Print Hall and as it was close by, we found ourselves walking towards it with without considering anywhere else.. After all, it’s an award winning venue in the Perth CBD. Following a cocktail or three we were feeling peckish and asked to see the bar menu. We wanted to choose something we both liked and dishes we could share easily.
Jen
Dropped by Print Hall for some pre dinner drinks before meeting up with friends. Would highly recommend trying the Al Capone cocktail which is smoke infused. The longer it's left the smokier the drink gets. Lovely!
Ines
Was told to go and didn't regret, the food was really tasty and chips were home made and so so good ! With a nice extended selection of beers. Apparently with a rooftop, didn't check put as the place was massive. Very friendly staff too !

The Print Hall is a large beautiful space with heritage significance, and there are several dining options within. I decided to go with the Hall and found myself a stool and table. The friendly waitress took gave me water and the menu. I decided on the wood grilled Cape Grim sirloin with parsnip puree, roasted parsnip, mushrooms, fermented garlic shoots and jus, and a garden salad. I asked for wine recommendations, and she suggested the Lunta Malbec from Argentina. I also saw an interesting red from Solano USA, and was offered a taste of both. The Mablec was rich and peppery and a perfect match for my lunch. The Solano was crisp with strong raspberry flavours. Probably would have gone well with a spicy dish or even perhaps, cheese. I ordered the Malbec.<br/><br/>My main arrived and nicely plated. I could smell the distinct wood grilling and the garden salad looked generous and inviting. The meat was cooked perfectly and I loved the flavours. The fermented shoots were an interesting addition and gave the dish some good acidity. The salad was a perfect side and was dressed well with a nice vinaigrette. Enjoyed it and I left both plates empty! <br/><br/>Will definitely come back to try the red and explore the other dining options within this great venue.

Very nice ambiance, good food and drinks.<br/>Really nice staff service was quick but even if service takes time you will enjoy old structure of building and ambiance.

<br/>I went to Print hall Restaurant for my Birthday and We had the degustation.<br/>Very good service, and dessert was my favourite part.<br/>I didnt like all the courses which is normal for a degustation but definitely worth trying.<br/>A bit pricy but thats what you pay for a fine dining in Perth.<br/>Also ive been to the bar area as well and I had a burger which was very juicy and nice.<br/>Also very delicious cocktails!<br/><br/>

Waited very long sitting on the high stool for dinner was not easy. I ordered a Cape Grim Sirloin medium.; the most expensive dish on the menu. The cut of the meat was so tough that I couldn't cut or chewed. I threw out about 1/3 of the meat on the plate and informed the waitress that the cut was very poor quality. She said she will let the chef knows but she didn't. Yet she asked me if I want anything else. I told her I had no confident that the desert will be good as the most expensive dish was not to my expectation. A restaurant can only improve if they have feed back from customer via their staff. I won't go back there again.

If you have an entertainment book, USE IT! Unfortunately I forgot to bring mine.. but still enjoyed a divine 8 course meal with wine pairing. I won't lie, I can't even describe half the things I ate but it was delicious. I heard they're going to change their menu to a more affordable one - I'll definitely check it out!

The final savoury course incorporated a dark meat – Duck from Wagin, fennel, slippery jack, and it was the heavier of the courses. This dish was delightful. The honey glazed skin, sweet fatty taste and tender redness of the meat was perfect on its own. On recommendation from the waitress we combined all three items of duck, sweet pineapple fennel and gooseberry sauce. The sauce was overpowering and it was better restricted to tiny amounts. The degustation veers into the direction of cheese, Buche D’Affinois is hidden incredibly well beneath gingerbread crumbs and berries on a overly wide brimmed plate. Such a beautiful plate. The creamiest of French cheeses. A delightful soft cheese. This was a nice course to set us on the sweet path for the rest of the evening.
Katiemeow
The food & drinks were amazing but the girl behind the bar was surly & made us feel extremely unwelcome , like we were bothering her by ordering a drink!
Food Explorer
A nice and beautifully decorated restaurant in the heart of CBD. Although parking can be a challenge in the city but this restaurant is worth a visit.

Superb meal, by far the best we have ever enjoyed.<br/>We had the top value  2 courses for $50 lunch, and left fully satisfied. Every mouthful a delight.<br/>My wife had barramundi, and I had steak. Neither was a large serving, but we both felt the amount was ample. <br/>All items that we had were quite complex dishes that were carefully explained to us by the excellent staff upon delivery.<br/>The menu descriptions were a bit too "cheffy for us," so we asked for a translation, which was readily given.<br/>The only minor negatives: very had to find-we had to ask; quite slow overall so not the place if you are in a hurry.<br/>Closing very soon to become Asian style instead, so get in quick for a real treat.

Bianca: In the initial planning stages of our Western Australia adventure, we made a mental note for a splurge restaurant when we hit Perth. Our options were really only down to two places and with one of them having those not so friendly WA trading hours, it was a fairly easy decision. Our meal at the ‘Print Hall’ turned out to be, not only a stand-out during our trip but for myself, one of the best dining experiences I have had in my life. Separated into four different sections – a baker & coffeemaker/ Bar & Dining room, The Apple Daily Bar & Eating House (with a focus on South-east Asian street food and lastly our first stop of the evening Bob’s Bar’
Renato
Great setup and vibe but the service at the rooftop bar was pretty average. I wanted a coffee and the girl said 'you have to go downstairs'. She and her 3 other colleagues then chatted for a while, occasionally serving a customer with indifference. She should have called downstairs to order it for me, especially as they plenty of time between service. Disappointed. Will revise review if I eat there.
The Life Of A Designer
One of the fanciest bar in town based on my personal opinion!<br/><br/>Located within the prestigious Brookfield Place, this bar occupied the printing office for The Western Australian newspaper.<br/><br/>The ground level is majestic, luxurious and modern, while the roof top area is fresh, cozy and it has that 'big city' feel in it
Some Like It Hot
I go to print hall regularly for a beer after work, the ground level is great as its spacious and has air con for a hot day. Bobs bar is also great on the roof if its not too hot. The service can be a bit mixed, you can wait awhile downstairs, upstairs seems to have more staff. Regardless I don't believe the the staff are that helpful especially when recommending beer. I've had food twice now downstairs, bar nibbles such as chips, fried chicken and calamari. Have to say they were all pretty average. Wouldn't get them again unless I was starving. Tonight I had the gnocchi which I have mixed feelings about. All the elements were individually lovely but didn't seem to work as a whole for me. I believe instead of pumpkin purée that roast pumpkin would work better. I also think that Persian feta would work better than goats. Nice serving and texture to the gnocchi though and the almonds were great.

Unfortunately I am yet to eat here but I have been for drinks and they were great! They had a huge cocktail selection and I had one specially made for me when I requested something sweet with elderflower , it was delicious! Great decor, higher than average prices for the drinks but I think it's worth it for the friendly service and nice atmosphere.
Paul Bussell
Exquisite food and service. The whole dining experience was amazing and the set menu was like a story. Sommelier was really knowledgable and I tried a fantastic white from Austria. Will definitely return!

My lovely wife recently raved about a visit to the tapas bar at Print Hall, and was insistent that we go there for dinner on our R&R. I booked a table online via their website in their fine dining restaurant - it's the only restaurant in the group that takes bookings, and with seating for 65, it makes sense. <br/>We were privy to their first night open of 2016, and their new menu. Wow!! What a treat!! Their menu is available to see online, and offers 4 courses per section - cold entrees, warm entrees, mains and desserts @ $110 for 4 courses. We decided to avoid any double ups on the ordering in order to experience half of their menu offerings. Luckily, we are both good sharers when it comes to food! <br/>After rating a couple of other restaurants highly in recent reviews, I was starting to regret giving the high scores, but then realized that each establishment should be rated on how it fits the gap in the market that its aiming for. In the case of Print Hall's Dining Room, we're talking fine dining, and for me, the experience ticked all the boxes! Impeccable service, detailed knowledge of the dish components and creation, and not a hint of pretension or condescension for us relaxed diners. Their award winning wine list is so comprehensive that it needs separating into sparkling vs everything else! After choosing a delicious Brut Rose to start with, we left the wine matching in the trustworthy hands of our wine steward (although I think sommelier is probably a more fitting title). <br/>I could wax on forever about the dishes we loved (all of them), but hopefully the photos will do enough justice. The names of the dishes are creative and needed some explaining, but in the end, we tossed caution aside in the belief that whatever comes out will most likely be awesome, and we weren't disappointed. Be prepared for many little treats surrounding the courses! <br/>A fabulous journey of deliciously unusual culinary flavours and textures, using locally sourced produce, and exotic imports, all flawlessly presented equals one the top dining experiences we've had the pleasure to enjoy, and will cherish for a very long time!
IMasticate
This a special occasion restaurant and pretty damn fancy. The wine list was 126 pages long (with tiny writing) and said things like “Pinot Noir - The Crus of the Côte de Nuits”. You have two options for dinner: four courses ($110) or the degustation ($150)...<br/><br/>Print Hall has fun and delish food, plus the service was excellent. The meals will seriously hit your wallet ($100+ per person just for food) so save this one for a special occasion. The atmosphere was friendly and sociable - people at neighbouring tables chatted and shared ‘ooohs’ and ‘ahhhs’. When I remember my favourite dishes of the night, my stomach grumbles and I want to bury my face in a bowl of duck egg custard and mushrooms *happy sigh*.

Well i brought an old school friend for an experience and we arrived to have a few drinks at the Print Hall Bar. After waiting to be served i asked for a glass of Champagne and a glass of 150 lashes. I explained i didn't want a pint but a smaller glass and the bar waiter offered another type of beer as they didn't have 150 lashes. So OK, i looked over and she is pouring a pint (so she didn't listen to the instructions) so on her arrival i accepted, she then half filled a small glass for the champagne, my friend looked at me and said i wonder if she's going to fill it properly. She then dropped some strawberry's in and i asked how much? She replied $35. I paid but i walked away astonished and felt horribly ripped off.<br/>This is not the first time this has happened here but it will be the last time. <br/>I don't mind paying for a few drinks but this is absurd. I know the rent they pay must be high but i assure you once the affect of the  declining mining boom  really hits and people tighten their belts, this place will be left wondering where they are going wrong. There are too many other good places in Perth that really offer better value for money. <br/>$35 for two normal drinks is a complete RIP OFF. Oh by the way this the first time i have felt compelled to put such an experience in writing, i am 50 and certainly not a serial whinger
Chloe
Super small portions, looks ridiculous on the plate, steak asked for medium, came out medium rare, very disappointed, don't understand how does the restaurant get all the rewards? No wonder only three tables filled during lunch time

Went specifically to the ground floor and had heard the hype from friends. Very disappointed in the food and timing, ordered share food that seemed very "prepackaged" and overly salty. The food took over 45 min to 1 hour to arrive and had to go and enquire where it was then we got it sent out.it was not all it's cracked up to be! Wouldn't recommend it. Menu was very limited and everything was mostly fried. The buttermilk chicken was deep fried and not what we were expecting. Disappointed in the share plates and didn't even receive individual plates to eat our shared from.

Came here a couple weeks ago for Mr's birthday dinner - faultless. We opted for the four course menu and wasn't disappointed. <br/>Desserts are incredible. Service was perfect. They were attentive without being too much. <br/>No complaints at all. Would love to go back and try the 9 course degustation
FatCat
It was not only the food that was interesting last night - an electrical storm took out the power for the air-conditioning and kitchen extractor fans for around 45 minutes, which resulted in an uncomfortably warm and a slightly smoky dining room, and a bit of a wait for our main courses. <br/><br/>Lacking the stamina to last the distance of the 9 course degustation, we opted for the four courses for $110. The quail, beef , stinging nettle and the black forest 'cake' were superb. The beetroot and burrata was delicate but a little too sweet for my liking and the blueberries and white chocolate dessert was disappointing. All dishes were small works of art on the plate.<br/><br/>The wine list was the most comprehensive I think I have ever seen and offered far too much choice to allow us to make one! We trusted our choices to the sommelier and did not regret it.<br/><br/>The service was impeccable, but the dining room lacks the warmth and lushness of the bar through which you enter - rather bland furnishings with lighting that does little to imbue a sense of richness into the surroundings. The space does not have the finesse that was found in the food and it was a slightly less enjoyable evening because of that.
FoodieGirl
Went to the Print Hall as had been there before and had some great food and enjoyed the atmosphere. This time we ordered some food to share, when the food came out, we had clearly over ordered and the guy that started to bring us the food said so. The girl who took our order did not mention this! A good waiter will tell you when they think you are over ordering - rather disappointed to have left food behind as I've never done that before. Food was tasty. One of the sauces was hotter than expected (my friend couldn't eat it) again, no warning.<br/>My previous visit to the Print Hall was a much better experience. I will go again, but ask about serving sizes.
Ian Cross
Wow. Seriously wow. Do you're a favour and eat here. Not one single complaint other than what to choose on the menu. And the cocktails. Wow.
Sybarite
Exquisite dining experience. Superb waiters; professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Delicious food; the quail was the table favourite. When we saw the size of the first course we were prepared to finish the meal and still be hungry, so we got a second slice of bread and mentally prepared ourselves for the second course. However we were all stuffed by the end of it! The amuse bouche and palate cleanser were very tasty and an always welcome feature in a meal. As were the unexpected petite fours! The dining room was lovely and warm although we did get a little too warm at the end, but I'd choose to be too warm over too cold! Otherwise faultless and I will definitely be back to try their new menu.

Got very lost and confused trying to find this place...ended up doing laps of the downstairs bar and with all the noise and six deep at the bar, had zero chance of asking anyone. If there was a restaurant, we didnt find it.<br/><br/>Eventually ended up perched on small bar stools in a busy corridor upstairs, yelling orders in the serve staff's ears. Conversation was impossible.<br/><br/>I am too old for that shit. Twenty-somethings probably love it. Think snack with drinks not dinner. Bring a Strepsils for your throat afterwards.
Deadly
Was quite disappointed , heard such good things about this place ... Had to wait ages to just get a wine menu ... Food was nice but not worth the money .... Service needed to be better as well
Jacqui's Food Fetish
When you walk into the ground floor atrium area of Print Hall, you can’t help but be impressed with the sheer size of the place, the feeling of spaciousness, and the long, long bar that stretches down the middle.  Set back from St Georges Terrace this old Newspaper House is a heritage listed building.  It’s simply huge, with four levels of bar and dining areas.
M.elisa
Very bland and boring. Alot of people hype this place up and claim it to be trendy. But was disappointed with its menu and prices. Won't visit there again.
Em.N
Came here for lunch during the week and ordered the duck. Mains took a good hour to come out. They brought everyone's food out at the same time, which is probably why it took so long. But I ordered a Pimms and it seemed like they forgot it.. Or maybe they were getting it delivered from the bar but nevertheless it took forever to come out. Once the food came though, it was like all that time spent waiting was a build up of anticipation just to make me enjoy the food even more. The duck was crispy and perfectly cooked. I wanted more. The menu boasted garlic prawns and I was expecting a decent sized prawn but instead was presented prawns the size of the tip of my finger. Flavours were amazing but the portion size was so disappointing.
TheBearReview
With the emergence of so many great restaurants that serve innovative, well presented, delicious food that is designed to be shared, degustation has been relegated to being stuffy, frozen in time, DVT inducing experiences. Not this place. <br/>Situated behind a bar that was absolutely pumping on a Friday night, the inside of this restaurant is tastefully decorated and modern. The waitstaff is efficient, friendly and knowledgable. The outstanding dishes for me were the squid and also the camel tartare. Well done guys. Perfectly executed, the texture and depth and range of flavours in a single mouthful is just absolutely amazing.<br/>The dessert petit fours were a nice touch too.
David Jaleel Gonzalez-Marsh
I was very excited to dine at this restaurant as I had been hearing about it for quite some time, booked in for lunch and headed in on public transport, the restaurant was easy to get to but had a bit of trouble finding it as it was slightly tucked away.<br/><br/>The petit blonde waitress who served us throughout the night is the main reason the rating for this review is so low, she was ridiculously rude, she did not smile, did not ask me how my food was throughout the dining experience and made me feel as though I was imposing in her day, she had an expression on her face the whole time that I can only describe as a "stink face" and as you can imagine made us very uncomfortable.<br/><br/>The food was presented well but quite underwhelming and I don't think there was anything that I will be remembering.
Victoria
Love it here, specifically for the atmosphere and ambience. Very grandeur and just nice location being in Brookfield place. Even if you don't come here for food there are lots of options around and definitely come back for a drink.
JZ
Ambiance, atmosphere, service, wine list and of course food, is amazing and fault-less! Always a winner when deciding where to go for dinner!
Danielle
Really awesome meal, it's the whole experience/ambiance &the extra things between courses, Petit fours at the end that make it special.<br/>We did the 4 courses for $150pp in dining room, it wasn't a cheap night but was a really good on for a special occasion /one off treat

went into the fine dining area by mistake first and felt very uncomfortable straight away. couldn't find anything appealing on the Degustation menu and I am a big fan of fine dining! went next door to the bar instead and I loved it. shared some delicious oysters and good wine. been there back now twice and the service was always great. the girls are friendly and relaxed and make you feel comfortable. I enjoyed their sundae for dessert as well :)

Print Hall Bar and Dining Room Comments:  For Valentines Day, I took my beautiful girlfriend to Print Hall, as it has always been on my list. I had high expectations for this meal because it was highly rated in Rob Broadfield's West Australian Good Food Guide. We got the degustation which cost $150 per person (a bit more expensive compared to other degustations in Perth). Our favourite dishes were the duck liver parfait , the p eppered beef bavette  and the ' Whisky and Cigar '.

Wasn't large portions at all.. I understand that fine dining can mean smaller portions, but I've left the Resturant after canapés, an entree, a main, and a dessert still feeling hungry and dissatisfied! Wouldn't return.

Badly executed fine dining. The room is lovely, but they havent got the fine dining concept right. The food looks like food art, but is tasteless and completely unsatisfying. The waiters are not attentive or professional as you would expect in such a place. They were all hard to understand, with varying degrees of english language ability. The menu and the service are very try hard but dont reach the mark. Dont waste your money, the food is not worth it and neither is the experience. <br/>The somelier tried to be helpful but didnt know as much as you would expect. Loads of other great places in perth

Gorgeous Fine Dining. I've dined here several times now. Every time had a wonderful experience. Love the dining room- very stylish and not too large. The wine list is unbelievable. I like wine but am certainly no expert. Luckily Print Hall have AMAZING sommeliers without a hint of pretension. Hand yourself over to their expertise, and they will explain the list, ask what you normally like to drink and make suggestions based on your taste and budget. Really enjoy talking to them. I may not know wine that well, but I know food. And the dishes at Print Hall are consistently creative and fresh. It is expensive, but worth every cent. Premium ingredients and often time consuming processes used to create amazing meals. I love eating food I cannot create at home- this place never fails to disappoint or surprise. My fave "special occasion" restaurant.

The Emperor is still naked. Had dinner in the dining room as an Entertainment Book special event. Convivial atmosphere and friendly efficient service with plentiful and good wine. The food however was another story. Think horror. It was pretentious and self serving. Just because something can be eaten doesn't mean it should. I'm at a loss as to why a chef is required to make raw scampi. It smelt like a fish shop and was tastelessly slimy. Jellyfish (sour, sour, sour.....there were3) were added. Why? Talk about getting the raw prawn. Stinging nettle puree (bitter) with goat's cheese (also bitter) finished off with Fat Hen. You guessed it. Bitter green weeds. Green is no longer my favourite colour after seeing this. Main course.....Wagyu beef ( very small but the first edible food since three fingernail size canapés) served with boiled beef tendon (disgustingly slimy and tasteless) and a small leek cut lengthways and chargrilled ( not easy to cut and even harder to chew). Dessert was far and away the best food served. Buffalo mozzarella ice cream was very good but it was overpowered by the cloyingly sweet honeycomb. There would not have been enough food to fill a small bread and butter plate so it is no wonder that we left hungry. Check the definition of the word restaurant. Food should tempt the senses. It's aroma should spark interest, it should look deliciously inviting and taste buds should be delighted. This food could only have appealed to those with sensory deprivation. Taste buds and stomachs should be satiated. That is the role of chefs and by extension, resataurants. Do everyone a favour and put some clothes on!

Great food. Amazing food, little pricey but worth it, thankyou

Childrens' portions. Yes, Print Hall is a classy joint - ambience, service - first class. Have been there several times now but not for a little while. Well, something seems to have happened in the kitchen recently. Honey, someone shrunk the portion sizes. A piece of barramundi measuring no more than 2x5cm does not a main meal make. Perhaps I was eating from the childrens' menu or perhaps Print Hall is now doing tapas Barra ... for $38!!. And to top it off, $10 for sides that constitute 3 or 4 measly broccolini florets or a small bowl of well done midget spuds.<br/><br/>Print Hall certainly left an impression on several of the guests over from Sydney.

I hadn't been here before and was very impressed by first impressions. The outdoor area was really nice and the drinks were cheaper than I expected. We sat outside at the print hall area and ordered sliders. I ate one of the two sliders and then realised the second one had mould on it. For such an upmarket place, not what I was expecting. Taking the mouldy burger back inside the bar man was unhelpful but gave me my money back. Good for a drink but not for food!

I liked the atmosphere of this place. We have had quite a few degustations this year - it has been quite a year of fancy food - and print hall dining room probably has topped the lot! Excellent attentive service, the wine match was top notch and inventive. The food the very best an adventure the whole experience. I was proud to see Perth mixing it with the best from the eastern states!!

Great Service - Interesting Food. Went here for dinner and the service and atmosphere were excellent. <br/>We just ordered the four courses on the menu and loved the creative bread and dip to start the night with.<br/>We ordered for first course<br/>Crab and Veal Pastrami - Pastrami was delicious the crab not so, the seafood flavour was way too strong that it almost felt like canned stuff<br/>Second course<br/>Nettle Risotto and Forbidden Rice - Nettle was absolutely beautiful and Forbidden rice with squid ink was definitely hard to fully put down. very strong flavours which i would have prefered in a smaller serve<br/>Main Course<br/>Barramundi and Wagyu - Both absolutely delicious. I loved the steak that came with marrow and beautiful potatoes. The salad that came on the side was drenched in dressing which wasnt pleasant.<br/><br/>We also got a delicious Limoncello palate cleanser in between<br/>Dessert<br/>Chocolate and Parfait - For me the parfait was awesome, so fresh and light to end the meal with. <br/><br/>We also got some nice truffles to end the night with.

Quirky but lovely. I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner, and sometimes just for drinks. It's such a lovely building and definitely brings up the face of Perth. The food is nice, don't get me wrong, and the place has lovely atmosphere. Although I did come here for the 'delicious / brown brothers' event and that was fantastic. The menu is really quirky and very different which is so great to see in Perth - the 'asian' theme really comes out a lot but it's not your usual asian flavours so it's quite nice.
Kat111
Been twice before and was lovely... Just been for the third time and was majorly disappointed... Meat full of fat yuck.... Was looking to impress my husband who loves Asian food.... He was not impressed. Buggar.

A disappointment. Sat in the fine dining area. The food was ok, but we were not blown away. Mains in particular we're very rich/salty. Desert was very nice though. Service was generally good, with a few of the staff really attentive and helpful, but went missing at various times and we had to ask for several things twice and even ended up stacking our own mains plates at the side as they were not being collected. I'm not convinced this place really challenges some of the more established fine dining places in perth.

Didn't live up to expectations I'm afraid. We had 10 of our friends dine on Friday night and the 1st issue was that we could not join our tables together because they can't provide the level of service they wish to "so we were told by staff"...Hmmmm.....I decided to have 3 of the courses on offer from the A La Carte menu instead of the 4 or the 7 course Degustation menu... The 1st course I chose was the Forbidden Rice...now that dish should be forbidden from being on the menu...it was way too salty and the black ink from the squid stains ones teeth! A few of us who ordered it could have one mouthful and that was enough.... My 2nd course was the WOOD GRILLED WAGYU BAVETTE - now this was rather nicely done but for $40, I would expect more than 110 grams of Beef... Dessert was VALRHONA CHOCOLATE MOUSSE and again, this was nice but overall, with drinks, we averaged $150 a head and for that, I would expect to be wowed, we left feeling somewhat underwhelmed by our dining experience.... Staff tried hard to please and were very attentive - wine list was way too long and should in 2 parts (One where the maximum is $100 a bottle as I don't know too may people who can justify spending more than $100 on a bottle of nice plonk)....although we were very happy with the Pattina Estate 2007 Shiraz we ordered for $65 a bottle.... Overall, quite disappointed with the value for money and quality and size of food portions...

The Bar is worth it. Despite what I have heard about the service here, I found that it was well up to scratch. The staff were polite and conscientious and the food was fabulous. The drinks selection is extensive and one could spend hours deciding what to drink. That being said, you couldn't make a wrong choice.

Another restaurant where the chefs think they are better than their patrons. I was tempted by the burger with chips and the battered fish with chips. Decided to be a bit healthier and go with the pan fried fish (small) with a side of chips. I was told it couldn't be done. When pressed, the waiter told me "we are not that kind of restaurant". Apparently it's the kind of restaurant where the chef will decide which type of fish should be served with chips. I ate the fish and left hungry.

Slow and painful. I haven't been this disappointed since I was told Father Christmas and the tooth fairy weren't real. Whilst the quality of the food can't be discounted, the service, portion size and value for money were truly substandard. I don't like being rushed through a meal however the painfully long wait times between courses was embarrassing and unnecessary given it was not that busy. The staff should focus more on customer requirements (one in our party not drinking the wine was never asked if she wanted another drink in spite of the fact of her glass had being empty since the first course) and less on describing the food as it arrived. At $300 per couple I would expect Michelin star service and food which it was far from. I've had a better experience for the same cost receiving a root canal at the dentist.

Love the food and service... The best place to dine in at cbd

Very special. Great food and amazing service. We had a very special night. The whiskey and cigar dessert was amazing even if I'm a non smoker all my life and I don't drink whiskey either :) Well Well done :)

SLOW and RUDE. It took 30 minutes for service at the bar. Not exaggerating.... I almost lost my legs waiting and was met with a "what do you want"... and no smile...... Shame man, the place is so nice....... but the service - shudder.

Great lunch. Had a quick Friday lunch there, service and food was excellent, good wine. All good.

Well worth the visit. I can understand some other critiques of this place though I went to Amuse last night and thought about the comparison and I think our experience of print hall was comparable. We were at print hall dining a few weeks back. Our experience of every dish was intriguing and faultless. Wagyu dish was incredible. Service from sommelier was fantastic, admittedly waiters did seem a little stiff though I have come to expect this in perth to an extent. Yes winelist is massive but it is incredible from an ex-hospitality professional's POV and doesn't need to be overwhelming (just ask the questions and you will get a point in the direction you want). Portions were generous for what we would expect of this caliber restaurant and taste sensations all round. Totally worth a visit. Little hint, go on a quiet night (this applies to every restaurant and any hospo staff will tell you this). Why anyone would go out on a Friday or Saturday night is beyond me... :)
Davidtaylor53
Wine list too big ... Food quantity too small.. Just got back from Print Hall. Service great. Food patchy. <br/><br/>Wine list... You need to bring your reading glasses and study the 200, yes 200 page file. Lots of choice for wine, in fact to much. If your into wine you need to devote 30 mins to the wine choice. This is not a sliver service venue. The wine list did not match the casual bistro style.<br/><br/>Food. Well, it was 7 out of 10. Some meals were good. The mains varied in quality. Barra good but bit mushy and microscopic. The cigar desert very good ... Very Heston. Salads great. The Bread they kept shoving down our throats ... Quite supermarket, like sliced bread from Woolworth's very ordinary and the way it was offered too us in a big tray! Who thought of that? <br/><br/>I Didn't like the squid ink entree meal, others liked it. Too bland for me.<br/>The Wagu main was very good and the marrow with it also stylish. <br/><br/>Wouldn't go back. Expensive ( nearly $1000 for 6 of us ) varied quality food and a noisy venue.

Shocked and amazed in a very bad way. I will start by saying it was our fault for misreading the cost of the degustation - and should have known that $150 for a degustation with matching wine was too good to be true in Perth! You could imagine that at the end of the meals when we learned that it was $150ea for food and then additional $150ea for wine we nearly fell off our chairs! If it was an exceptional meal I would have been disappointed at the Perth prices but felt a bit silly and moved on. But it was a really average meal! And with with no wine matched to 2 of the 8 courses, and one optional 'upsell' (extra $10 for a 'better' wine) I can't fathom how they can charge $150 for drinks alone. We bought a half glass of wine each to start as on a friday night i certainly wasn't waiting 2 courses for a drink. The wine we had was lovely, but not exceptional. The food was the main disappointment though - all bar 2 of the dishes were cold dishes, the marron tasted as if they had been thawed from frozen and the 'hot' dishes were served lukewarm. The consume was not hot, to the point where when poured the fat/oil had started to separate. The bread was cold - for that price i expect warm bread! I will close by saying the service was prompt, polite and knowledgeable, and the petit fours lovely. However at $620 for 2 people this was the most disappointing meal of my life. As another reviewer said - would be better to fly to bali, or go elsewhere in perth for a degustation...twice.

I love this place a lot and can't say enough good things about it.

Stunning service, nice food, and "Perth" prices created in fairy land. This was our first visit to this restaurant.<br/><br/>The good news is the staff: professional, efficient, courteous, and knowledgable. It takes time and money to train staff to be this good, so full marks to The Print Hall in this regard.<br/><br/>The food was delicious, but the portions were extremely small.<br/><br/>The wine selection was extensive and served with professionalism. And the setting was pleasant although the noise from the adjoining bar was disconcerting.<br/><br/>Now the bad bit: sure all of the above gets top marks, and we enjoyed several bottles of wine with our meal.......but honestly for $189.00 per person, we were left wondering just how "mad" Perth has become. Only two weeks ago we enjoyed a top class meal in Venice for half this price. When you are paying ten dollars for plain water per person, you really start to worry.<br/><br/>I actually felt ill as we drove home. Not because of the food; but because of the huge hole in my pocket.<br/><br/>So, its up to you. Enjoy the experience, but it is probably cheaper to fly up to Bali for the night.

Big empty feeling. Came here for a drink after dinner at Apply Daily Bar which was so so. This place was ok however even though it was a Friday night it had a big empty feeling which detracted from the atmosphere. Didn't think it was anything special.

Love this place! Made a booking at a different restaurant for my birthday, yet after a quick change of plans, decided to head into Print Hall due to previous positive experiences. This time was no different. The service is impeccable; the team work and dedication to the service means that I enjoy my experience knowing I am in good hands. Though I am willing to pay money for an enjoyable experience, I can safely say that with the additional extras of bread, amuse bouche, palate cleanser and a plethora of petite fours, I get my money's worth every time! The food is exciting, as my partner and I love watching these experimental minds at work with the combination of flavours, textures and colours that adorn our plates. Come here for an experience that leaves you in the hands of true professionals, and be sure to keep an open mind as the chefs will surprise you every time!

Extremely disappointing. Had been looking forward to checking out this venue for a long time. 15 minutes to make 2 cocktails after an already 15 minute bar wait (and the venue didn't look that busy) was a joke. Whilst I understand cocktails can be considered an art form but we seriously thought this was a set up. Even other patrons standing near us started to realise how long it took the barman to make our cocktails. We couldn't do anything but laugh. He was running up and the long the long bar for various ingredients bringing one back a time.

It may be the CBD but $17 a pint?!. Went there for a casual afterwork drink, 2 pints of Asahi was $34! It may be central and a nice spot but that is highway robbery! We lasted 2 rounds, $68 later! Won't be returning.

Stop the presses!. Recently had dinner at the dining room and some drinks at the bar prior. I have to say the service was attentive and the food was quite good, we had degustation with matching wines and there was a little to much plate and empty glass for my liking. As degustation goes this was minimalist to the extreme! I realise you have got a resources boom going on in Perth but in Melbourne I could have dined out twice for similar money, it appears they are printing money. On the up side a great looking venue but maybe just drop in for a couple of over priced drinks.
Arnelle Giuppa
So disappointed. The servers were rude and condescending, we were told if "you wanted a shot go somewhere else"!!! $22+ for cocktails and $10+ for a VERY small glass of wine. Definately overpriced! Never again!
Lovemyfoodandwine
Food was impeccable.. Service polite and knowledgeable though could probably do with a bit of personality from more of them. Great bar for a drink after!

Shame. I was looking for somewhere special to go for my Birthday, looking at their website it looked great - just the kind of place to go but then... looked at the menu and they serve Foie Gras - the archaic and cruel practice of literally force-feeding geese (http://www.peta.org/issues/animals-used-for-food/factory-farming/ducks-geese/foie-gras/). Just as Selfridges and other top European restaurants are banning this cruel 'delicacy', our 'top' Perth restaurants are still serving it. What a shame that this 'European inspired menu' is so far behind the times.
Aaron Blazic
Exceptional food choices - the barramundi I had was cooked to perfection. It did take forever for the fresh oysters to arrive (and some tobasco would have been very welcome) and I think for the noisy and loud setting the service seemed over the top and out of place. But I generally enjoyed dining there, and will definitely be back.
Evonne
Excellent service. Went in a group of 8 to the dining room. First the gripes: the interior design - unfortunately very boring with uncomfortable chairs... designed more like a diner than fine dining. Unfortunately inflexible when it came to adding a person onto the table (I did only ask two days before - but when we were there, there was space on the table end!).<br/><br/>Forgiven because of the style of service - a well oiled machine with all meals presented at the same time, dishes explained by our lovely waitress. I think they wanted the table ends free in order to serve symmetrically. The fine dining service is outstanding. Some sublime dishes: ceviche, smoked ocean trout, wagyu special. I was blown away by the rhubarb mille feuille with pistachio, strawberry and quince (not too sweet, which is exactly how I like my dessert). Pleased with the complimentary side salad, the MAGNIFICENT pre-dessert (aloe vera jelly, raspberry sorbet), post-dessert cookies. <br/><br/>Note that the online menu separates the 4 courses with price, but actually there are only two options for dinner - the four course meal for $110 or the degustation for $150. <br/><br/>Will be looking forward to another visit with the next menu change.

Outstanding Service Absolut.... Outstanding Service<br/>Absolutely loved print hall tonight, been about a year ago and it was fairly nice but a year down the track and they are a well oiled machine. The food was sensational, I had crispy skinned barramundi and it was cooked to perfection. Our waiter Jean Charles was the perfect mix of friendly, helpful and unobtrusive and assisted greatly with wine pairing. Overall we loved our night at print hall but it was the service that really stood out and that is rare in perth unfortunately
Donotreply
Overpriced. Nice location once you find it, however extremely OVERPRICED!<br/>$15 for half a glass of wine, $21 for a tiny bowel of a total 5 Chick pea Chips. I kid you not.

An experience to be savoured.. Wonderful food, excellent service and great advice from a knowledgeable sommelier. Be sure to book in for a looooooooong lunch.

Bob Cha ... you mean Bob ya!. My partner and I visited the new Bob Cha part of Print Hall and wow were we impressed. We love our Yum Cha and know it has to be clean, refined and most of all delicious. Bob Cha hit the nail on the head. The home made steamed prawn and coriander dumplings were our favourites, packed full of flavour but the fried pork bean curd rolls weren’t far behind! If we had the bellies for it, we would have got 10 of everything. <br/><br/>We also had ourselves a cheeky cocktail or two; the School Boy Error cocktail was very refreshing and tasty. Overall the service was great, very friendly staff and a beautiful interior to set a relaxed atmosphere. Will be back for more of those dumplings as soon as we can!

What a Gem. Finally a restaurant in Perth where the service matches the prices. We dined at the Print Hall for my Husbands birthday and the food was sensational. The service was attentive and knowledgable, I could not fault it. Too many restaurants in Perth charge for main courses in th $30 range yet offer limited customer service, the Print Hall understands what good quality food is and where to source the best produce. This is a place that takes itself seriously and know how to deliver. Bravo
Info
Bad food , bad service. My wife , myself and our 6 year old son visited the print hall dining restaurant tonight. we arrived at about 7.29pm. the place was busy and i could not hear the waitress when she spoke to my wife. the waiter and waitress spoke with heavy french accents and we had grave difficulty understanding them. this was not a french restaurant so they should not try to be on. we ordered the 4 course meal. the plating was bad. we both had the same mud crab to start . my wife was given a fork and spoon and i was given a knife and fork. it was hard eating without a spoon. we ordered plain water but the same waitress keep mixing our water with sparkling water. the food took a long long time to arrive. by about 9.20pm , we had only ate the first 2 courses and there was the main course and dessert to come. we then asked for the bill and decided to leave. our son was getting tired. we asked the waitress if she could hurry on the main course. she said no and that was the way the kitchen operated. they obvioulsy had no emathy for guests with kids. so we then decided to leave without finishing our last 2 courses. this is a place that tries to be an up market fine dining restaurant. it failed miserably. for what we paid and which was not cheap , one should go to rockpool or nobu. they are miles ahead in service and quality of food. the dishes were very ordinary and one you would expect in a normal bistro at half the price. don't go there unless you wish to waste money on bad food. we did speak to the manager about our experience but we still paid the bill.

Food was very good but far too noisy with the bar right next door. My voice took strain trying to make myself heard. For a very pricy restaurant, sort the ambiance out. I will not be going back.

Deluxe. Fine dining at Print Hall means fine dining.<br/>Impeccable service timed perfectly to attend or replenish.<br/>Knowledgable staff and even though I could see the wine list (my eyes and low light = no chance) and was offered glasses! we asked the Somellier to select for us based on likes, price point and food selections. (why wouldn't you avail yourself of his skill set?)<br/>Oysters followed by 4 courses of divine food. <br/>Brilliant food full bellies.<br/>Will deff go back for degustation next time.

Roof top bar !!. This is a gem!<br/>Food and drinks are excellent from top to bottom.<br/>WELL DONE ! NAILED IT HERE GUYS.<br/>There own brewed beers are excellent, the decor is simply the best, just love the way it changes on each level, feels like your in an entirely new place.<br/>You just have to dine at the apple daily eating house, a must is those many drinks on the board and little glass jars, forgot what they were called, must have had too many.<br/>Great value, great food and amosphere!

We attended the NYE prohibition party at The Print Hall. Absolute blinder or a night. Setup was class as, good music and vibes, the booze package was too notch and well worth the money, loved the photo booth and the food was all amazing. Everyone we spoke to loved it. Cannot understand why previous reviews have been so negative. Was a great night
Yawn
NYE was a serious misfire. The food was amazing when it actually came around. When we actually got cocktails they were undrinkable (and judging by the full glasses all around the place we weren't the only ones that thought that). There was no atmosphere at all. At 10pm it felt like 2am in a club with everyone winding down getting ready to leave. The music was just awful. Just a dreadful noise for the first 3 hours. Even a waitress said to us "oh god, this music is horrendous". Honestly, for $230 you would not want to have to chase down food and drinks. Just an absolute misfire. Was so looking forward to it and was just incredibly disappointed. <br/>On the upside the wait staff were just lovely and the food was so good we will be telling everyone and can't wait to come back for a meal.
Fish Lover
Worst NYE ever! Cocktails took forever and were terrible, music was horrible (the Dj missed the countdown) Although the first band were quite good! What a waste of $230!!!! Shame on you Print Hall

Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Steak was to die for as was the chocolate mousse dessert. Would love to go again!

Wow! What an absolute surprise! Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much, but the fine dining experience here has set the benchmark here in Perth. <br/><br/>The attentive, knowledgeable service. The creative and beautiful meals. The unique cocktail list. Everything about our dinner last night made for a truly memorable dining experience. The European wait staff showed a professionalism and understanding of fine dining that I have not seen before in Perth. <br/><br/>We had the $110 four course meal and, among the six of us, there was no complaint about any dish. The highlight for me was the 'cigar and Whisky' dessert. One of those dishes you'll talk about long after the evening is done. <br/><br/>Thanks to all the wait staff and, of course, the Chefs for such a great night!
Rob_calam
Food good, bar bad. Decided to have lunch here after a recommendation from a friend. The food was lovely and we decided to finish our meal with a cocktail in the main bar. We entered the bar and before we were able to order I was asked to leave as I was wearing thongs (dress shorts and collared shirt). I explained that we had just eaten in the dining room and it was 38'C outside but was told that they had a policy. Very disappointed, and I will not be going back.

We went to the print hall for dinner and chose the degustation option with the wines to match. $150 for the food and $80 for the wine. The food was to die for, the service impeccable and I would go as far as to say the best service in Perth. The wait staff were ver knowledgable of the wine and foods and very professional. I'm celiac, and they had options for all this and remembered the whole way through. Brilliant place. We will be back and will take our friends next time.

After a long day walking through the city we decided to go for lunch at the popular print hall to be seated and then told to leave because of our dress code we were told that we weren't aloud to wear shorts this is during one of Perths many heat waves the day was said to be 38 degrees and so it was as i looked around I saw at least 5 guys wearing shorts and also thongs which also is not in the dress code so we asked why is it they are aloud here and we aren't there answer was they were wearing dress shorts since when have board shorts bed dress shorts so we also ask but they are wearing thongs they the lady at the bar said he is waiting for a voucher but yet there were 4 other guys wearing thongs and shorts at the end of the bar the confusion struck me and then i thought it just must be us so we won't be going back

Degustation to die for...!!. My friend and I had the pleasure of dining at print hall a few days ago. We decided to go with the degustation option.. Turned out to be a good choice..<br/><br/>The degustation option costs $150 pp for the food and $80 for the drinks. We decided to upgrade to the "premium" drinks option and that also turned out to be a good choice..<br/><br/>Obviously its a lot of money to spend on a meal but if you are willing to do so, I can honestly recommend it and say that this dining experience stood out as one of the best ive ever had...<br/><br/>The service was faultless, both our food and drinks waiters were highly informative and professional. <br/><br/>We had 7 courses, I won't go into them all obviously but to say the crab entree dish was out of this world and my friend claims the main of fillet steak was "the best he'd had".. The wine, sherry and port that accompanied each dish was evidently expertly chosen as each complimented what we were eating perfectly.<br/><br/>Overall a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience that I won't forget in a hurry =))

Food was amazing, highly recommend the oysters, blue crab from course 1 and the duck from course 3, the staff are super attentive the only part that i didn't like was the 90 page drinks novel we had to scour to find a wine that we would like that was under $100...

5 Star Service. Beautiful food and impeccable service. Sommelier able to make great wine reccomendations to match individual courses. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates good food :)

SOOOO big and pretty expensive. More staff than customers. But the food was delicious and the wine was nice. No expense has been spared on the beautiful fit out. This place is a great addition to Perth’s bar scene, so many bar options with different feels & styles. ...Bob’s bar was the more casual one and where we decided to spend the evening.....We felt like kings as we had the place to ourselves
VB
Amazing food appalling service. I can't fault the food it was amazing however management might like to note the following; impossible to get a drink at the bar and when we finally did couldn't add it to our table bill. Waited 25 mins for a menu and wine list, drinks arrived 45 mins after we sat down at our table and only after we waved someone down. Couple at the next table were heard arguing about the service as well so we were not alone. The chef is putting out amazing food but the service staff are letting him down. Won't be back.

An experience worth the cost. Print Hall's fine dining is a gourmand's dream. Classy atmosphere, great tastes matched with an excellent wine list and service from staff who work overtime to make your meal a classic experience. Yes, it's not cheap, but if you want the best Perth has to offer you've got to pay the price.

Second time here and the same issue. Waited almost half an hour for a cocktail. Bar staff could clearly see the same 3 people still waiting for the drinks but didn't take the iniative to go check why there was a delay which I still can't understand as it wasn't that busy. If ur looking to enjoy a drink in a fun atmosphere then this is not the place you are looking for.

Yummy. Only had the mini burgers as a bar snack and they were delish! Just a bit overpriced in here

No collar?. My friend did't have a collar so we were shuffled upstairs. Turned out it was nicer than downstairs. Win.

Went there with visitors from overseas with high expectations. Nothing great just so many people, noisy couldn't hear each other. Food was average. Won't be going back.

Too noisy to enjoy. The food was unquestionably superb. We chose the 4 courses and everyone except my vegetarian daughter enjoyed each course. She would have preferred a first course option to include something for vegetarians other than the slow cooked egg. We found the deconstructed crab and curried egg sandwich to be perfectly executed, witty and whimsical. A high light. The staff were very professional and charming and when we needed the meal to come more quickly so the young parents could get home, they were very helpful indeed. but the problem was the acoustics. We were seated at a round marble table beside a large mirror perched on the tiled floor. It was trying when the wait staff tried to hear us or we tried to hear each other. Straining to hear each other desended iinto lip reading with no soft furnishings, rugs or cloths to modify the overly bright acoustics. It was a pity as everything else was as good as it could be. I would not recommend this restaurant to people over 50 or those with any hearing issues, sadly.

Well worth it. I took my wine loving boyfriend there for his birthday 2 weeks ago, as they have won Gourmet Wine Traveller's award for best restaurant wine list in Australia...it certainly didnt dissapoint at around 80 pages long. Along with an extraordinary wine list, the cocktail, gin and whisky menu is super cool. I ordered the maraschino martini (i think) and a gin cocktail which were both AMAZING...one of them was the sommeliers own concoction..<br/>The food was very very good. I wasnt expecting much from the service, what with this being Perth, and the bar staff in The Print Hall generally being a bit rude and snobby, but the restaurant waitstaff were absolutely lovely- extremely knowledgable and friendly (maybe to do with the fact that most of them seemed foreign)<br/><br/>For 4 courses, wine matching, cocktails and oysters to start, the bill at the end, whilst not a weekly splurge, still definitly worth every penny.<br/>Go Go Go.

Great food but lots of noise from bar area makes it waste of time having chefs/wait staff with foreign accents try and describe the food. Low of the night was when the sommelier came the table to explain to my partner the Sav Blanc when it was clear by the glass placed in front of her that she was having the Shiraz. They also overdo asking you if you are enjoying the meal. Other then the price of a small glass of Bollinger nv it was not to bad in terms of price

Had dinner at the print hall dining room last night and it was amazing! The meals were nothing like I have had before, delicately and creatively constructed, with things I hadn't heard of before but tasted perfect together. The service was also very good, they explained each meal in detail every time they brought a new one to the table. The dessert was my favourite, the chocolate mousse was no ordinary mousse... It had a layer of chocolate biscuit/cake underneath, around it was salted caramel, milk flavour ice cream and crushed coffee beans, when all scooped up together it tasted soooo amazing! The best dessert I have ever had! I will definitely be going back to this place!

Ridiculous price, but amazing food. On a Monday evening at the Print Hall you have 2 choices, 4 courses for $110 or 6 courses for $150. On the web it shows the menu and prices are for 2., 3, 4 or 6 courses , no where saying you have to order 4 or 6 on a Monday night. I am sure that is called false advertising . <br/><br/>It's too much food , I felt Ill as I walked out which is such a shame as food is sensational and presentation is like a production<br/><br/>What annoyed me was even though you have no choice but to order the 4 or 6 courses the waitress says you don't have to order dessert with the other courses as you may not feel like it, after the first 3 courses but you still have to pay for it,<br/><br/>We got talked into having a side of potatoes ($10) as we were told the mains don't come with any extras, ..all meals came with lots of extras either grain,or a salad <br/><br/>Our wine glasses were whisked away before the wine was finished in the bottom of them as we said we old not require another bottle <br/><br/>Sorry but this is one big money making exercise

Nice but over priced. In the Dining Room, good service, small serves & over priced, you could sense in the first 5 minutes that they aimed to get every cent out of you they can, the menu has no prices, the mineral water is refilled at lightning speed, the serves are so small your hungry and want more - overall a fairly obvious grab for cash disguised as a restaurant.
Trust Me
Can't wait to dine here again!!. Best service I've had in Perth for a very long time. The food was awesome and very creative. Decent sized servings too. If you love wine I recommend dining here. The sommelier was very helpful and helped us choose a wine for the budget we had a group. I've heard mixed reviews on this restaurant from friends as well as through urbanspoon, I'd say come and test this restaurant out for yourself. I wasn't disappointed :-)

Bar staff rude. Had a drink with some girlfriends and a cheese platter to go with our wine. Was overcharged on the food, bar staff were rude, place was cold, noisy and the cocktail list hard to fathom. Would not go there again.
Tasteeee
Great food excellent wine list awfully noisy ambiance. Stopped in for a few drinks with work colleagues including a client that we had business to discuss with. Wine list is excellent. Great choices and solid list of interesting wines by the glass. Bar was stocked with interesting single malts, tequilas and vodkas. Food had a good selection to choose from. Food came out fast, glasses cleared quickly, but the noise of the place made us move on rather than settle in. If you want to have conversation I'd recommend somewhere else, but definitely will be back to join the gaggle of after-workers and blow some steam off.
The Palmyra Foodie
Awesome. Well, fair's fair, I've been three times and loved it every time, so only right that I say so.<br/>The place itself is top notch - nice fit out and suits dinner with clients or a hot date with the better half for a celebration, anniversary etc.<br/>Food is definitely at the top end of the pricing range, around $27 for entree's, $42 for mains and $17 for desserts, so won't be a cheap night out. Having said that, the wine list is hands down one of the best around and you can find plenty of really good wine for very reasonable prices ($50). <br/>We always go 'a la carte' - the food is sensational. It's a bit modern, with smallish serves, beautiful presentation and impressive flavours. You can easily order three courses and you'll leave feeling just right.<br/>Standout service too. People say it's noisy but I prefer that to a too quite environment.

We dinned at Print Hall on a Saturday night with 4 people at 6pm. The atmosphere and attentive service brought fine dinning to a new level in the Perth CBD. <br/><br/>From the extensive wine list, I chose a glass of Pinot Noir to go with my Albany free range pork. I finished off the evening with the chocolate mousse. A thoroughly enjoyable dinning experience with good friends. We will be returning soon.

Be careful about ordering the Wagyu beef. Ours was super chewy and had a massive chunk of gristle. The waiter tried to tell us that the flavor was still there but this is not what you want to hear after chewing your way through what is meant to be a $75 piece of beef. Everything else wonderful but won't be going back.
KJB
Noisy atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented, very tasty and service was good. However, the portion size of the pork fillet dish was well overpriced. <br/>Sadly the noise from the bar area and having a couple of middle aged women at a nearby table laughing like braying donkeys at whatever their male companions were saying, was disturbing and marred what would have otherwise been a good night out.

Best in a long time. Six of us went to Print Hall last night and we all absolutely loved it! Rare indeed for us! Service was outstanding and the food superb. Three of our party had the gnocchi with truffle for main and all said it was THE best gnocchi they had ever had. High praise indeed. My duck cassoulet was different from what you would expect but was sublime. My mandarin vacherin dessert was to die for. Can't recall a time that dinner out in Perth has been this good, especially when all the meals are served at the same time by six smart white attired wait staff - very nicely done. Wine prices are x'y and water deal at $10 a head sounds expensive at first but in reality it made sense compared to what we've paid for consuming numerous bottles of water at other places. Room is small enough to be intimate and is well protected from the noise of the vast Print Hall bar on a Friday night which is loud! Thought only the chairs, given it is fine dining (and you pay for it!) for could softer and more comfortable and the tables perhaps covered rather than bare. Other than that couldn't fault it.
Emily
Great. We ate at Bobs Bar (on the rooftop), The staff on the rooftop were very helpful and went out of their way to help us with our order which alone would prompt me to go back, the food and wine was amazing, i do not have one complaint.

Bigoted Manager, appauling service. A Couple of birthday drinks turned into a joke by a bigoted manager. This was customer service at it's worst a week ago. Our group of 5 seasoned travellers 2 from Holland, 2 from Belgium and 1 from England, had decided for a civilised drink or two at Bob's bar to celebrate a birthday. After one drink we headed downstairs to the 'Print Hall' bar to escape the cold of the rooftop. Half an hour goes by and everything was fine until security personell came over and threw a wobbly.. "Please do your shirt up.." "Dress code policy.." His white crew neck T-shirt was on display ( there were other males sporting similar attire ) our friend was simply the fall-guy or they felt somewhat inferior to him. Anyway he casually buttoned the denim shirt up but had to take it off again after 30 minutes due to it being too warm inside, he was sporting a fashionable black cardie over the white crew shirt now. Once again security came storming over and demanded that he don the denim shirt or face ejection. By this time plenty of fashion victims had traipsed through, one girl spilling out of her leopard skin leggings and 7 inch heels sticks in my mind - real classy! So our friend reluctantly buttoned the shirt back up after failing with the "What about those guys over there" card. The manager was also eavesdropping and at which point asked to have a word with our friend outside - turns out he barred him without the decency to tell us. The manager's bigoted views and behaviour makes me wonder how such an imbecile arrived at such a position!.. I informed him he had no manners to which he tried to use that against me, which obviously hurt his fractured little mind as he also sharply escorted me off the premisses not allowing further consumption of my beverage ( my 2nd drink of the evening. )<br/>To assume someone is in the wrong because they've had around a pint of beer is nonsensical! This place is rife with contradictions, people aspiring to be something they're not, you can't buy or learn class you are born into it from generations. This is Australia, there is no class!
OutandaboutinPerth
Outstanding!. Possibly the best service and food I have had in a long while! And reasonably priced considering. Can't wait for a special occasion to go back!
HappyinFreo
Lovely food but service not up to scratch. Dined with 4 other guests on a quiet Sat night. Had to wait 15 mins to be given a menu, and was not given very knolwedgeable advice with wine selection. Waiter had a thick French accent which lacked clarity, volume and confidence. Entrees were fantastic, but mains were brought out while one of our group was at the rest room - a big no no!! Mains were spectacular, but service and wine recommendations need to be improved upon for the price to be justified.
Zoooo
The service was average. the food was well below par. the phad thai noodles weren't even fully cooked it was like eating plastic. when we complained to the waitress nothing was done about the situation. for $24 for a bowl of noodles I EXPECT IT TO BE COOKED. overall so disapointed. the only dish that was good was the soft shell crab. Will never return. over priced and crap

Awesome place - very fitting for the city after work drinks. A group of 4 of us went on a friday night about 8pm - lined up to get in, then squeezed our way to the bar! Couldnt get upstairs or in to the restaurant! Despite being pricey the cocktails & bar snacks we got (prawns & squid) were delicous! Im going again maybe on a quieter night!
Natasha
Overpriced and oversnobby. Whilst the Print Halls's rooftop bar is lovely and the building itself is stunning and worth the expensive cocktails, the restaurant was COMPLETELY overpriced. For ten whole minutes the Restaurant manager tried to convince us that we should pay $10/ person for unlimited sparkling/still water all night. When I asked for tap water (sorry i'm not paying $10 for water) he said that they do not serve tap water. I have my RSA, it is a direct requirement to serve water free at a licensed venue.<br/><br/>The waitress we had, an Italian girl named Lara, was AMAZING! Her knowledge of the menu was so impressive and she was really lovely.<br/><br/>The food, whilst it was nice, was not worth the $50. jamie's food was much better and 1/3 of the price. Printhall either needs to up the standard of the food or drop the prices.
Milandro
Didn't have the opportunity to eat yet but did get to drop by a enjoy a glass of Dan's home made ginger beer.<br/><br/>The mother is kept behind the bar and fed daily. The offspring is the best ginger beer I've ever had by a country mile. Big citrus hit, massive effervescence and a heated ginger bite that lasts forever and will warm you through winter and refresh you through summer. <br/><br/>Home grown magic.

Quality comes to Perth. The staff, the food, the drinks all added up to be a fantastic experience.<br/><br/>It's great to see that the DRUNKEN NORTHBRIDGE BOGANS are given alternative options by the professional door staff - (see the two first-time urbanspooner's reviews below)<br/><br/>Dress-up and head to the Print Hall for a hassle free, quality experience!

After trying many similar CBD venues, it must be noted that the security there treat the place like nightclub thugs.Watching them screen people is interesting. They judge age, size of group, ethnicity and the chicness of the way you dress before they even let you in. It is not the way to treat people. Sure is exclusive - exclusively shallow. Thank goodness places nearby have a better ambience.

What a Night!!!. I dont care what anyone says i just went to Print Hall last night with my girlfriend and we had such a great dinner could not fault a thing. Service 10/10 and food 10/10. Yes the prices are a bit high but you dont mind that when you get treated and eat like a king. one of my new top restaurants.
The Napoli Alert
Rigid and unaccomodating. Nice environment and good but not outstanding food. We were here with a group of 10, and they were so rigid and difficult and going on about 'policies and rules' that I doubt I'll be back.
Deanosta.
Awesome seafood, freshest you can get, great small goods and house baked breads. Jerry Fraser at the bar popping oysters to order doesn't get any better.

Well worth a visit if you're happy to splurge. I had a delightful night in the Print Hall dining room about a fortnight ago. We were seated very close to the entrance, and hence the bar, on the ground floor, but were still able to hear and converse easily enough. I wouldn't say it was intimate, but it is vibrant and enjoyably modern. The wine list was impeccable; having decided on degustation we politely declined the matching wines so I can't speak for them, however the 3 drops I drank during the course of the evening were faultless and decently priced for their quality and region. Service was top notch to the point of being very formal, the largely French staff are highly professional, pleasantly outgoing and patient.<br/><br/>The dishes (7 in total) were wonderfully presented, they had a great variation of textures, colour, and all produce was of a very high quality. Everything was cooked perfectly, I could ask little more of them. Portion sizes are typical of the degustation culture in Australia, depending on how long you stay the 7 courses should fill the average eater nicely. The menu is posted on the website.<br/><br/>It is an expensive restaurant, by any standard, however the fact that they offer an a la carte menu as well as the degustation accounts for some of this, and the wine list is well worth a very long, good look.

Lunch here today was lovely. My lunch companion has allergies so our waiter went to the kitchen and found out exactly what was and was not safe. We ends up with oysters (great) and blue manna crab (nice but a tad bland) for entrees and we both went barramundi for main which was fantastic. I also usually drink cab merlot but was directed towards a French Pinot noir which was fabulous. All in all, we got what we paid for!!! Fine dining indeed! Jerome the waiter was excellent.

Went there on a rainy Tuesday night. Perfectly cooked food, comprehensive wine list and probably the best table service I have witnessed in Perth. Just make sure you go on pay day. Certainly not cheap even for fine dining. Will be back!

Great Food In An Unpleasant Atmosphere. Have been here twice (pre and post recent menu change) and while I can't give it a thumbs down - the food is too good for that - I have to say unless you've been everywhere else then there are better options. <br/>The food is amazing but so it should be given the price - the wine list for people who know about wine (not me - my fellow diners!) is extensive. <br/>The problem is the beautiful building itself! With the bar next door and only glass walls seperating the restaurant from the noises of a Friday night work crowd you'll have difficulty thinking, yet alone having a conversation over dinner. I really don't see how they can fix that, but a $100+ meal should be relaxing.<br/>Still if you must go, leave room for the lemon "spilled" dessert and the strawberrries and cream - but re-finance your home and bring ear plugs.

STYLISH & TOP QUALITY. I took an overseas client and some colleagues to the Print Hall and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The heritage buildings, of which the Print Hall forms part, have been wonderfully restored and developed, creating the most interesting entertainment area in WA. The selection of beers available at the bar, on tap, is exceptional for Australia (I get sick of hotels that offer 8 different lagers and don't even know what an ale is!). All top quality and flavoursome, with knowledgeable bar staff.<br/><br/>The restaurant itself provided one of the best experiences, if not the best, that I have had in WA. I could read the wine list for hours, with its interesting descriptions and, more particularly, a fantastic range, from reasonable to astronomic! There was a whole page of Barolo, which is rarely found in such quantity. Some very special wines (and very special prices).<br/><br/>The food was exceptional. With six in our party, we ordered one of each of the entrees - and the waitress immediately offered to deliver the three cold ones first and then the three hot. Every dish was enjoyed to the full, through three courses (and we could have had more). The service was attentive and prompt.<br/><br/>An excellent evening. Truly a top restaurant and one that, unlike some others nearby, delivers for the price that it asks.

My other half is still in the bathroom... One person commented at the table to leave the prawns as they didn't smell fresh....

Very nice venue, decent food, average service. Have been a few times and twice have been told that they would not serve me because i did not fall under their "collars only" policy for men. I wore a cashmere sweater once, and a round-necked silk shirt the second. Very poor conduct on their part to dampen dining experiences by way of collar or none. Does this mean an old faded company polo shirt would have done the trick and gotten me my money's worth?
Golco
Wanted to be wowed!. Good but not impressive. Was expecting way more! Service a bit on the slow side and food very very average.
Mel
Food was absolutely amazing, and the service was faultless. The mushroom on toast was delicious and the duck was to die for! The chocolate fondant was also really amazing

What is Not to Love?. Finally got to have my first Print Hall Dining Room experience – and I can’t wait for the second one!<br/><br/>There is some much to love about this CBD venue - classic looking venue, cool vibe, Jerry Fraser, great service, awesome food and a fabulous wine list! Just add some good company and a little fun conversation and you are on a winner! Thursday lunch is not a time you expect to see a venue looking pretty full – but if it happens, it’s got to be a good sign.<br/><br/>Dining as part of a group of four, we thought we could put the venue to a pretty fair test – and they passed with flying colours. If there was one small negative it was the slightly pretentious ‘sorry we need a few minutes to prepare your table’ on entry - which is code for ‘buy a dozen oysters and 4 glasses of champagne on arrival – but when the oysters are Jerry Fraser’s freshly (and expertly) shucked Coffin Bay oysters – who cares!<br/><br/>Moving to our table the first clue to the quality of service was the ‘can I take your jacket sir’ request before my jacket was whisked away and neatly hung in the closet – already I was thinking ‘That's funny I thought we were in a Perth restaurant' if you know what I mean.<br/><br/>Anyway after the bubbles and oysters we moved on to the menu proper... our group choosing a variety of dishes from the menu (all of which looked superb and were complemented by a couple of excellent sides). Firstly, ocean trout, pumpernickel, lemon oyster and pickled shallot - the trout had a great texture and a truly wonderful smoked flavour - thumbs up from both guests (an Aussie and a Canadian) who tried this. Also we experienced the seared duck breast with white sausage and white bean - the perfectly cooked breast looked almost too pretty to eat. Lastly, the dish that gave me mains envy – the Amelia Park lamb loin presented with a pea puree, mint, courgette and green olive with micro herbs (mmm). It is on my list for next time!<br/><br/> As always, the attentive sommelier was on hand to recommend perfectly matched wines for our meals. By the way, they have this really cool way of approaching your mineral water service here (it is $10 per person - but it is bottomless and for me, I like to thoroughly cleanse my palate between courses and wines).<br/><br/>When we got to desserts, it all seemed way too inviting and hard to choose, so we went for one of each and shared them across the table - strawberry, rhubarb, sparkling Rose granita served in a wineglass: caramelised figs with a ricotta, orange and pistachio mouse served in a tuile with honey ice-cream (my favourite - the figs were divine), cheesecake with dill and lemon and chocolate fondant with vanilla ice-cream with fresh blueberries (what’s not to love). These dishes were nicely matched again with the sommelier‘s recommendation – this time from Italy.<br/><br/>Service during the meal was immaculate (and those exotic accents didn’t hurt either). <br/><br/>Would I do it again – when can I make my next booking at my new CBD favourite?
Bronte Ricupero
After eating at Print Hall, it's fair to say that this is one Perth's best. The food was delicate yet full of body and technicality. The sommelier organised a beautiful Pinot to match our main courses. I enjoyed every moment of this fine dining experience because I felt as though I was being taken care of to a personal level. Perfect place.
Fussy Pants McGee
Wow. Everything was perfect.<br/>Beautiful building, great service, amazing food and great wine list. I wouldn't change a thing.
Daniel
Pretty good- would go again. This was pretty good. For fine dining the tastes were great, service was exceptional. Only thing was the fig desert wasn't great.

Tomato with collar. I had drink and food to Print Hall and Bob's bar few times since it opened last year. In principle is a nice venue but....<br/><br/>One of the first times I have experienced the bread&tomato snack: now, a bar/restaurant like that (supposed to be one of the coolest in the CBD) should not serve 1/4 tomato on top of a slice of toasted bread. Please, have a look on any basic cooking manual how a tomato can be served, maybe sliced/chopped with oil, oregano&basil on small slices of toasted bread that you can eat like finger food...simple and nice.<br/>Hope that item is no more in the menu!<br/><br/>One month ago the door security guys asked my ID (I am 38, and I do not look 16) and also asked me 3 times if I was drunk (I was not at all, bcos I hate being drunk) then they allowed me entering the premises bcos "we like Italians" or something like that: I left after 3 mins, and went to another bar in the next building: they didn't ask ID, neither if I was drunk.<br/><br/>Few weeks ago I had dinner in the restaurant and the most efficient thing was the refilling of the water glasses: 5 person, 5 bottles of water in 2 hrs, 50$....I was about to draw!<br/>Now, I understand that selling imported bottled water is a good way to make money with minimum work but....a bit of style is required....come on!<br/><br/>Last time, I was with some friends. One of them had a black simple T-shirt, without any stupid/offensive picture or sentence on it. Well, the security guy said: U cannot enter. But, we were coming from another bar-restaurant (fine one) in the CBD were we just had dinner, and no one told us: U cannot have dinner here because u do not have a collar shirt.<br/><br/>Conclusion: I think I will not go there anymore. Thanks to God there are other nice bars and restaurants in the CBD able to properly host their guests.
The Poppets
Wow...impressive degustation.... Came here for degustation dinner on a saturday night. Decided to go with the matching wines. came not knowing what to expect and we were absolutely blown away. The flavours were fantastic and service was superb. i dont drink white wine but the wait staff showed their quality in the pairings they came up with...sherry's with entree anyone? worked a treat. have dined at all the perth restaurants this was one of the best experiences...
Michael Adonis
Only in perth. Wearing trousers and a long sleeved cashmere top, I was confronted by the goons at the front door with the line, "business collar only!! You cant come in."<br/><br/>What is ok for any other city in the world, is not ok for a pub in perth.<br/><br/>Never again - what a joke
Food Groove
Main attraction: King of Oysters. Fabulous venue for a sophisticated night out. <br/><br/>Blackberry and salted chocolate margaritas are a must try!<br/><br/>However, for me, anywhere Jerry Fraser is shucking his oysters, I'm there!<br/><br/>Looking forward to degustation in the near future.
Adrian
Brilliant!. Came here after a bad experience at the grand central park. What a stark contrast! The place is amazing inside, and we worked our way through the colonial beers which were awesome. Great service and the rooftop bar is fantastic, although it was a little windy. Can't wait to return!!
Maxthecherryman
Recommend. Impeccable service, outstanding food, enough quantity to still this hungry beast who demands a decent portion. <br/>The best selection of Grappa i've encountered in Perth to accompany an excellent espresso. My partner had a near orgasmic experience with the bitter sweet chocolate fondant. <br/>The music being a tad loud was our only minor irritant.<br/>$280 for the two of us, a couple of drinks and with generous tip. Not cheap, However value if celebrating an event of note. We were, 39th Anniversary.
Endlessmastication
The WORST meal ive had in years. Overpriced, horrible food. The presentation is beautiful but the food aweful. <br/>After being told about $10/ head water(!!) we waited 40minutes for a menu. Then another 20minutes to have our order taken. My mushrooms on toast came out....horrible mushrooms with grated bread. Main was cauliflower blue cheese gnocchi....inedible. Why would you put blue cheese with capers and sultanas. $40 for 5 gnocchi drowning in oil and buried below sultanas and capers. i left it all.yuk. Waste of money. Your better off spending your money at The Heritage, right across the path.
Thierry
Wants to be up market bar and restaurant but does not know what customer service is. Also has some strange dress code policy when you can enter in shorts and a shirt but not with a T-shirt and jeans even designer.... Seccurity is also discriminating people based on their looks....
Carmel Formato
Impeccable!. Amazing food - Barramundi was "melt in the mouth" and Chocolate Fondant the best I've had!. My friend had the Lemon Meringue Spill and that was absolutely superb too! Very hard to beat. Great service. Lovely ambience. I'll be back Print Hall. Thank you.
Anita_petrou59
Noise Bombardment. Print Hall was a very dissapointing dining experience for many reasons. Firstly there's the queue outside - very off-putting as apparently no table bookings are taken ahead of time!! (Or perhaps a deliberate ploy to give the place that pretentious, exclusive air) - Then once you enter the building you have to negotiate your way through the crowded bar to even get to the stair way up to the second floor dining area. This is a badly organised oversight . A separate entry for diners only would have been less confusing.<br/>Two of the male diners in our party were then told by the waiter that the dress code was "collars only" and that T.Shirts are not generally acceptable.<br/>The food came out in portion sizes that could not even be classified as entree serves. Yet really overpriced!<br/>However the worst aspect of the entire evening was the sheer loudness that must be endured.. The lower level bar noise filters up through the massive void in the centre and the acoustics are echoing all around which makes dinner conversation almost impossible. To make matters even worse the music is cranked up to high volume too!<br/>It was such a relief to get out of there and there is NO WAY we would ever be returning again!!
Justin
Wow. Went here for a business lunch so I didn't think I'd be focusing on the food, however - wow. Everything looked fantastic. No complaints about the taste either. Everyone loved everything. Service was impeccable. The most knowledgeable wait staff I think I've ever come across. I didn't have time to pick wine, so I asked the sommelier to bring whatever he recommended. Again wow. I kept loosing my train of thought every time I took a mouthful. A great experience all round. Maybe not so good for a business lunch because its hard to concentrate on work.

APPLE DAILY LOVE. Stunning. My friend and i walked in late one thursday evening and had a fab dinner at The Apple Daily. Service was amazing. Started with a cheeky cocktail, a few tapas and a carafe of wine. TReally enjoyed the sticky ribs!<br/>Will def be coming back again soon.

Best oysters in my life!. It is expensiveeeeeeee but the food is delicious, I love oysters and Print Hall served clean, very fresh plump oysters- a must! The wine list is also very extensive so be prepared for some education.
Chris
Surreal! Has Perth grown up?. Went there by chance as a party of 4. Did fresh oysters and were so good, repeated (which would normally mess up any kitchen) and it was seamless. Waiter outdid himself producing my requested wasabi as if he'd had reserved just for me all along. Waiter was PERFECT! Waitstaff was fluid and timely. Main course and deserts were HEAVEN! Was accidentally poured wrong wine and before I had chance to notice, Sommelier came up with abject apology and a Superior bottle of champs. Poured one for me and the other lady who was also champs "So that madam should not enjoy alone" with his complements, and then as quickly withdrew. Geeze, even when they make a tiny mistake, it becomes a golden moment! The food was perfectly executed, beautifully served and the experience made me wonder (after all of my years abroad) why, oh why has it taken so long for this level to have reached Perth. I don't care what you charge, I will be back, and as often as my bank account allows.

Nice food, shame about the face. Including the words 'Fine Dining' in your restaurant name feels pretentious to me. But that is exactly what 'Print Hall Fine Dining' is. And makes no excuses for it.<br/><br/>We were served by the skinniest girl I have ever seen. Bobble head on a skeletal frame. There were a number of them. They would gather twittering near the kitchen when our meals were ready, preparing themselves for the clumsily choreographed dance of coordinated meal serve. One, two, three, plonk. Awkward.<br/><br/>But, the food was outstanding. A mushroom entree with incredible earthiness, milky, melty veal and contrasting crispy sweetbreads. Yeah.

I went there with a girlfriend for a catchup sesh the other day, and thought we did give this place a try. Omg! outstanding! food was great!! service was extremely extremely excellent!!! the waitress/waitor are always there when you need something and they talk to you and explain each dish as it comes; so you know exactly what you are eating/ drinking. one of best apple martini I have had in Perth, so that's good hahaha. nice place as well. Just everything was perfect!!

Great Service & Food. Venue looks great, and is a fantastic addition to Brookfield Place. It was extremely busy on a Friday night, which is to be expected given the pull from the after-work crowd. We arrived at 6.30 and there was a huge line of people waiting to enter the premises. This was a bit confusing. We weren't sure whether we had to wait in the huge line of party-goers to get our booking ticked off, but I asked the bouncer and he politely explained that those who had bookings for dinner could go straight through. We were taken past the queue (not without dagger looks from those in the line) and escorted to the restaurant. It's a bit strange that there isn't a separate entrance/exit for diners as it does make things a bit awkward.<br/><br/>The venue is loud and buzzing, but we made our way over to the restaurant which is located at the back of the venue. The restaurant itself is lovely and cordoned off from the beer hall by a curtain, which does not counter-act the noise from outside much. Regardless, the ambiance was still cosy and intimate and the decor was nice.<br/><br/>The service was absolutely world class. Our waiter Louis was exceptional and couldn't do enough for us. In fact, all the restaurant staff were excellent. Helpful, attentive and knowledgeable the whole way through. <br/><br/>The food was brilliant and well executed. Yes, the portions are small, but if you order an entree, mains (with a side to share) and dessert, it does leave you feeling satisfied. I don't need huge portions when I am enjoying good-quality food because I don't rush to finish it, but that's just me. Some people may be put off by the fact that the food comes out in small portions and for the price, I can see why some people might complain.<br/><br/>Food was amazing, service was outstanding, venue is lovely (especially if you venture to the main bar after dinner). The restaurant should be separate however. Overall, a great night made enjoyable by faultless food and top notch service. I will be back.

Lots to like but some HUGE fails. Really great food, friendly service, excellent sommelier, all totally let down by the racket from the beer hall, having to venture from the relative safety and class of the restaurant to go to the bathroom which also services the beer hall, and then having to literally push through wall to wall pissheads to get out at the end of our meal. (Interestingly at the start of the evening we were escorted in from outside, through the crowd and to our table. After we'd paid the bill it was fend for yourself.) <br/>That just doesn't add up when the bill is close to $200/head. If Print Hall get themselves a dedicated entrance and bathroom I'd love to return, otherwise it's just revolting and there are plenty more pleasant places to spend an evening.

Birthday Dinner. Booked a table for two on a Wednesday night to celebrate the missus' birthday. <br/><br/>Service was great, it wasn't too "in your face" but was still very attentive. <br/><br/>Loved the Entree, ordered the Roasted Pidgeon Breast and Seared King Prawns. <br/><br/>The mains were a bit small and probably left us wanting a bit more. <br/><br/>Still enjoyed the experience and would still go again in the future

Great staff. Loved the atmosphere and the staff!! food portions were tiny though...

Outstanding Service!! When .... Outstanding Service!!<br/>When we arrived we were offered drinks and were told Still or Sparkling Mineral water was served unlimited for $10 per person for the evening - <br/>Food Tasty but main portion sizes just not acceptable for the price! We paid $62. For Wagyu Beef that barely qualified as an entree size ! Sides were tasty but again too small . While I expect fine dining to be smaller portions the Print Hall have gone way to small -
Yvonne
Too noisy. The food was excellent. No complaints at all. Service was good however we could not understand her accent at all.<br/>However, if you want a quiet intimate dinner, forget it. I have never eaten anywhere so noisy. You could barely talk to the person next to you never mind a table of 6. <br/>It's such shame, whilst loved the food would not go there again.

Outstanding service, amazing food, we had the degustation and every course was delicious and timed to perfection. Will definitely return, bar staff were also very knowledgeable regarding the wine, just a fantastic night!

Fabulous. Had read all the reviews so my friend and I decided we must try it. Food and service did not disappoint ! Sure the prices are up there but the food was fabulous and the wait staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and how the dishes were prepared. Jerry's Bar a great addition. We had oysters to start and as usual Jerry's oysters cannot be faulted. These were from SA and were fresh and very tasty.<br/>Thoroughly recommended.

Print Hall. Gorgeous fit out, excellent, professional staff and food match, finished off with a drink on the rooftop bar, perfect night!!!!
Nedlands Diner
Great dining experience. I had a fantastic lunch at Print Hall today. The food was prepared perfectly & wait staff were spot on.<br/>It certainly wasn't a cheap meal but if you want a fine dining experience I would definitely recommend giving it a go.<br/>Very extensive wine list and a good choice of wine by the glass also.

Fabulous food and service. Had a wonderful meal last night at the fabulous Print Hall. Service was outstanding, Somellier's wine recommendation was fantastic and the <br/>food was tops!! Well worth going

Thumbs up. Had lunch here with the family - we were really impressed with the ambience, food and service. Gives the other similarly new "usual suspects" (heritage, trustee etc) on the Terrace a run for their money !! Nice touch having Jerry the Shucker, shucking oysters.

Not for a catchup. Good food. <br/>Service: they cancelled my booking despite confirming the day before. was pregnant, and asked what was OK for pregnant women to eat on the menu and told by waitress everything despite chocolate fondant/mousse on menu which has risk of undercooked egg. She didn't even bother to check with chef. Many of the wait staff were very young/foreign, it was difficult to be sure if they really understood some requests. <br/>They did check regularly if we were happy though. <br/>Atmosphere: Hip, trendy. Very loud as right next to bar so if you want decent conversation then this is not the place.<br/>Would I be back? Probably not

Great meal. I had the seared king prawnsto start off with. Oh my yum. This was followed by the tenderloin which was beautiful. The only minor disappointment was the desert but that is a small quibble. I am no wine expert but I was assured that the wine list was vast and impressive and the sommelier added some colour to the night.

Great vibe - even on a Monday night. I took an interstate colleague along to the ground floor bar of the Print Hall on a Monday evening. It was a perfect spot for a casual chat and if you're not overly hungry but want some nice nibbles, this is a great place. <br/><br/>In fact, as other reviewers have said: this place (along with it's neighbours at Brookfield Plaza) raises the bar considerably. Whilst we did not have the full meal experience, I will be hurrying back. The decor was spot on and magnified the classic architecture. The service was simple and friendly and there was a great selection of beers on tap. We ordered some bar snacks: a dish calls "nuts 'n stuff" or similar; which was nice but devoid of nuts (unless I misread the menu), consisting of sausage, squid, parsley and some other, well, stuff! A bowl of chips was raised above the ordinary by a cute little bottle of aioli. However, the piece de resistance were the Mullet Toasties! Thankfully we ordered a serve each and they rapidly became my favourite bar snack for some time. Beatifully rolled toasties that took me back to the sardines on toast of my youth and even served in sardine tins! Fantastic! <br/><br/>To all the naysayers of the Perth culinary revolution - this is getting serious. Melbourne watch out!
Pasta Please
Best steaks!! Pricey, but relative to Perth prices for the quality, i was happy to pay. My t bone and a serve of the mash potato was a dream. Thr lemon spill dessert was delish!

Fantastic but not on a Friday night. Print Hall has raised the standard again in Perth city. The food was wonderful - we could not fault anything. The room is a beautiful mix of old and new. Service was also of a hgh standard. However it is expensive which you don't mind if everything comes together on the night - and we will not return on a Friday night. We had to push our way through a big queue at the door, and then squeeze our way to the back of the bar to get to the restaurant and gave up on trying to have a pre dinner drink at the bar. The restaurant is a little sanctuary but the toilets were not a pretty sight on this night. Girls vomiting and glasses all over the floor - OK if you are just there for drinks but a bit off when you are spending so much on a wonderful dinner. Definately will be back but not on a Friday night.
Dean Strautins
The bar manager is out of order by kicking people out for no reason that I or my friends could identify.
Philly Foodie
Philly Foodie. Its simple really SENSATIONAL!!!. Dined last night with clients & this sets a new benchmark & raises the bar for Perth. I had the oysters which were amazing, followed by the duck which was even more amazing. It's not cheap, but then it should not be for the quality & freshness of the food. Just an absolute treat. One of the best restaurants I have ever dined at & coming from Melbourne this would be a stand out there as well. Special occasion, this is the place.

Much room for improvement. Beautiful settings, but not impressed with the service / or food.<br/>Will give it a try another time and find out what all the fuss is about. Great location though.

Fantastic. - we'll be back..... Great night all round with group of friends. Amazing atmosphere amongst the whole complex, faultless, seamless service, accompanied with beautiful, mouth watering food and impressive wine suggestions to match our meals. A fantastic night - we can't wait to return!

20th Wedding Anniversary Dinner. Hubby and I booked a table for 2 on a Wednesday night. Nice reception, service friendly + genuine, good vibe. The renovations here are stunning! <br/>We enjoyed mushrooms on toast (so meaty tasting) and the pork pie as entrees - nothing to fault! Both had duck as mains with a sharp green salad. Beautiful flavours and presentation. Dessert...Quince for the lady and the lemon dish for the man. Again very pretty and so yum. I like indulgence and this The Print Hall did very well. Loved the evening...and not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Recommend for a romantic dinner and a great night out in a delightful setting.

Beautiful venue, food was simply divine and the service was perfect, a lot of attention to detail. Overall a fantastic dining experience and my family and I will definetly be back soon!

Excellent service, food and restaurant. Pork pie is superb and Trout was mouth watering.
Mmmm
Lack Lustre. Without the basics you have but nothing.... Such a shame to have had such a disappointing experience at this new Perth establishment. <br/>After being seated we waited 20 minutes (and several expectant looks) before we were spoken to. Water glasses filled and a drink on the way we were feeling a little better.<br/>Waiter presented us with food menu and took our orders rather promptly, which was a relief.<br/>With our entrees making it to the table in great haste we should have been content, however no-one had brought us the wine list. I asked the waiter on delivery of our entree if i could please see the wine list. The sommelier was sent over. <br/>I was incredibly insulted by the fact that instead of allowing myself and guests to read the wine list to make our choices the sommelier did not even let the wine list leave his hands instead making two recommendations for me to choose from, although joking about the size of the wine list... not that I had a chance to see it. <br/>Entrees were fine.... after rushing these out we were left waiting for our mains, which were also fine.<br/>Dessert was not so great. I ordered the fondant but when I cut into it, it was dry with absolutely no gooey wet centre - the final disappointment.<br/>I would have been a little more understanding of excessive wait time if it had been busy, but simple errors in order of service and basic errors in execution in the kitchen just can not be excused.

Food and wine was fabulous and the staff very attentive. The only thing we found was that it was so noisy it was hard to have a conversation around the dining table.

Divine. Degustation on Monday the 29th of October.<br/>Food was superb, every course was delicious. My personal favourite was the white rocks veal. The cheese selection was incredible and very tasty.<br/><br/>Drinks list is absolutely amazing. The sommelier did an amazing job recommending wines. Will definitely be back again

Awesome bar staff!!!. Had a couple of impromptu drinks here with a friend who had wanted to try this place out!<br/><br/>Its across from Bar Lafayette, so as I said in that review you will have to walk around Brookfield place to find it!<br/><br/>If you are thinking that it's going to look like a print hall you will be sadly mistaken lol it has lots and LOTS of plants which gives it an earthy feeling! It was about 9ish when we went here and it was PACKED on a Thursday night! <br/><br/>This place is quite pricey, for a bottle of wine you're looking at paying $60. HOWEVER, this was my favourite thing about the place, when I asked to have a tasting (seeing as I didn't want to pay $60 for a crap bottle of red!) the bar staff were happy to oblige! They did not only recommend a bottle but let me try 3 others! Theres nothing worse than going to a bar/restaurant and feeling like you can't turn the bottle away because you didn't like it!<br/><br/>The tapas portions were delicious aswell!!<br/><br/>Would DEFINITELY recommend this place BUT be aware that you will be spending a pretty penny here!

Fantastic dining experience. Food was elegant and sophisticated, waitstaff very knowledgable about their food and wine and especially being able to match these perfectly. Will definitely return.

Oooh delish!. This place is swanky, ceiling to floor glass, fantastic service. The complimentary bread rolls were delicious with whipped butter- we couldn't say no when we were offered seconds. I ordered the gnocchi with white asparagus and nastursium flowers- wow the flavours were amazing- elegant and sophisticated but all worked so well together.. and the gnocchi melted in my mouth- highly recommended!

I enjoyed the dego here for lunch and the chefs here actually care about their food. Flavour, finesse and balance are thought of well instead of sacrificing one attribute for another. In the st George's tce stretch of eateries that are springing up,I'd say this would be the next place to grow and to start dining at. The items that got me were the cold smoked, but sous-vide cooked ocean trout that carries the intended flavour and precise temperature of the fillet, causing it to sing on your palate with the aid of a marinated and flash fried trout skin and pumpernickel used as garnish.<br/>Don't like fish? There's always the White rocks veal dish comprising of the corned cheek(fork-tender and umami rich) with roasted fillet and crumbed sweetbreads with nasturtiums to give it that neat peppery kick.<br/>Do give the print hall a try.

Great food , service ? Unfortunately A great meal spoilt by extremely slow service and some unwanted attitude by some of the staff , not all though, maybe try it again in a few months when the bumps are ironed out
Jay Martin
Amazing decor, but bar staff running around trying to work out how to make cocktails, top prices (as you'd expect). Has novelty factor right now - and worth a look. Curious to see if its still popular in six months!
Roy
Absolutely rubbish! They block off one half of the bar and cause the other side to cram in. Another typical Perth bar trying to be exclusive. What a joke! Wake up... People are sick of this treatment.

Haysey. Travelled over from Melbourne for business and popped in with a mate for some lunch and beers, fantastic! Loved the fitout and the options.<br/>Great steaks and Gerry's famous oysters were beautiful.<br/>Great beer garden on the roof too.<br/>Setting the benchmark for Perth.Well worth a visit.

Great Venue. Excellent taste in decor<br/>Excellent conversion of an old building<br/>Excellent service which will only get better<br/>and no Mullet on the menu. Big thumbs up

Without a Doubt The Best in The West!. Myself & my wife were lucky enough to dine at the Print Hall last night (Saturday) for our anniversary. The first thing that we noticed that differentiates this place from any other restaurant in Perth is the quality of service & ambience. We had a quiet drink the bar before being seated in the Dining Room. <br/>For entree I ordered 1/2 dozen oysters & my wife the "Mushrooms on Toast". The oysters were excellent however the mushrooms were UNBELIEVABLE. One of, if not the best entree dish we've ever eaten.<br/>For mains I ordered the special Grain Fed Rib Eye Fillet with Smoked Bone Marrow, Shallot & Parsley Caper Salad & my wife the Duck Cassoulet with Confit Cromesqui, Pork Sausage & White Bean. I asked the wait staff to recommend a wine to match with my steak which was perfect. The steak was probably the best I've eaten & my wife raved about the duck. Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer to have dessert, which was probably a blessing as my wife would've ordered 1 of everything.<br/>The Print Hall is without doubt the BEST restaurant we've ever had the pleasure of dining at in Perth. Complimenting the quality of the meal & wines, the service, especially the attention to detail was the best we've experienced. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. We'll definitely be back!

We came in after checking out al the new bars on St George's Terrace and Print Hall was near the end. After checking out the drinks menu we asked the bar staff of they did a cheese plate. Enter Aaron. Amazing. He let us try a few samples from the purpose built cheese cabinet and matched a wine perfectly. Great fit out and great vibe. We'll be back.

Amazing!. Definitely worth a visit! The place is amazing!

Wow. Headed out to the grand opening of Print Hall last night located in the new BHP Biliton complex. I still have to pinch myself thatin Perth - wow what an exciting place Perth is becoming :)<br/><br/>The owners of Print Hall I understand to be from Melbourne and the service and quality of food was amazing. For entree we shared the scallops and the pork pie which although delicious, I thought was quite pricey for a sliver to share between four. For mains we had the lamb with crisp brain, veal with carrot, sirloin with bone marrow and smoked ocean trout which was divine and my personal fave. The mains were reasonably priced as you got value for money for the quality and attention to detail (compared to the average food you usually get for $5-10 less). Dessert of Mille Feuille with honey icecream was a little disappointing as didn't get the wow factor.<br/><br/>Overall it was a great experience - you should definitely check it out!

What An Amazing Venue !!!. I was Very impressed By the level of attention and quality for a place that has only opened one day, The Food was absolutely Sublime, we Had the Trout and The Duck Cassoulet and THe Rib Eye Fillet the Lamb It was just So Good that even had to come back for dinner on the same day !!! <br/>It is not Cheap but i have to say, for this level of food quality and service, it is very well priced. Many Venues and restaurant in perth do not even have half the level of Print hall and they end up costing you as much if not more !!!<br/>We were taken care for the wine by the head Sommelier himself Daniel, the way it would introduce you to wine and explain you how it would match with your food was just almost poetic. And the experience we lived were just amazing ! Then the Restaurant Manager and the waitresses were also very well mannered and polite, The word SERVICE has been reset to Perth by Print Hall to my point of view and i am part of hospitality so i am very critical and this place scored an easy 18 out of 20 for me !!!

The bar at Print Hall is one of the most notable in Perth -originally the reception counters that once took the public notices to be posted in the West Australian , when this building housed the newspaper, printing presses and all. Restored, re-jigged, whatever it is a most spectacular bar. Of course the whole redevelopment is spectacular, and the dining room behind the bar area houses one of the best restaurants in town. Last week we were meeting others at the Apple Daily for dinner so stopped downstairs for a drink, being as always a little early. There is good seating outside the bar on the terrace, but it was full so we were happy to go in and perch at one of the high tables inside. Although we weren’t looking for food we had a look at the menu – it serves upmarket bar snacks – oysters, buttermilk fried chicken, garlic prawns, cold cuts, brisket burger and beer battered snapper among the choices; plus a couple of desserts that sounded pretty good – peanut butter sundae and New York style cheesecake. The drinks list at Print Hall is one of the best going around – winner of Good Food Guide’s Wine List of the Year for 2015 it has a stunning range of wines from all over the globe and also has a large selection of top notch wines by the glass. A couple of glasses of  very dry pale French rosé later we were on our way upstairs to have a sensational Asian meal, but vowing to get back to Print Hall soon, to visit the dining room and report back on the food turned out there. The whole Brookfield Place development has breathed new life into Perth and Print Hall is the epicentre of it all – great place. -->

I’d been meaning to eat at this place in the new-ish bar and dining precinct of Brookfield Place for quite some time now but had never been able to secure a booking. So I was thrilled when a friend told me she had managed to secure us a table at the very reasonable time of 7pm. On a Friday night no less...

Having won Restaurant and Wine List of the Year in the 2015 Good Food Guide, Alissa and I had very high expectations for our meal at Print Hall - as well as slight concern that the restaurant would be more about style that true substance due to the grandeur of it surrounds. Thankfully, the Print Hall Dining Room delivered on all fronts for a truly memorable and delicious dining experience. Service was of an international high standard - being as good as what Alissa and I experienced at the then 3 Michelin starred Caprice in Hong Kong as well as Cutler & Co and Vue de Monde in Melbourne, with one of the best wine lists I've had to pleasure of choosing from. The food of Print Hall's head chef Shane Watson was thoroughly well executed as well, and while there is an inevitable ebb and flow to a degustation there was not a single bad dish throughout the service. Being a lot more classically driven than avant-garde modernist restaurants like Restaurant Amusé and Attica, Print Hall's dishes were perhaps less memorable from that standpoint, but when a restaurant is accomplished enough to turn Iceberg Lettuce of all things into a dish you want to just keep eating, its hard to argue that Print Hall is not one of Perth's best.
What Can I Bake?
To celebrate Becoming the WA Finalist for  The Noosa International Food and Wine Show ILVE Presents Australia's Best Home Cook , my Hubby and I were invited to Print Hall for the media launch the next day along with Jim Berardo and Greg O'Brien, the co-founders of the Festival and a few of the sponsors. Print Hall has been on my list for so long I was excited to try Executive Chef Shane Watsons amazing food. We headed to the function room on the 2nd floor and it didn't take me long to spot the menu and folded in the napkins. Duck Liver Parfait was my Hubby's first course. Generous mounds of lovely smooth and rich parfait topped with salted plum, cherry and a smear of Geraldton wax on the side. My first course was the vegetarian option; New Season Vegetables which was lovely steamed asparagus and yellow squash, savoury soya milk and a big roasted malt wafer! I love asparagus and the fresh dill paired with the other elements perfectly! For mains I had the Pan Roasted Barramundi that was topped with Coorong Pippis, courgette and dill. The skin was lovely and crispy and the Barra cooked to perfection. David Blackmore's Wagyu Beef Bavette was a cracker of a dish! My husband loved the cut of beef which they cooked perfectly medium-rare and it was accompanied with leek, roasted pepper, cornichons, beef tendon and a rich jus. The beef tendon was soft; almost jelly like with a light meaty flavour, quite hard to describe. The desserts we chose were Sweet Chaos with sweet parfait, honeycomb, mandarin and lavender and The Bittersweet Chocolate Tart which was lovely dark chocolate ganache snaked across the plate adorned with caramel almonds, crumbled caramel popcorn and ice cream. Both desserts were delicious.

Taste of Perth 2014 To say I was excited for the final few days of the Eat Drink Perth festival was a gross understatement. The first Saturday of my May month was dedicated to the Taste of Perth, using the Silver Crown tickets that I had purchased a few months before the date. Silver Crown tickets were only available for pre-sale through Ticketek, including entry fee and 30 Crowns (1 Crown = 1 Dollar). Welcome to the Taste of Perth 2014! I had scouted through multiple food blogs during the day (thanks Chomp Chomp , Breakfast Confidential ,  Food Endeavours of the Blue Apocalypse and The Food Pornographer ) for tricks and tips of the trade for the event. I also had a long hard look through the Taste of Perth Menu Card, which included a map, a list of the food stalls available, the different events running throughout the day and a menu (surprisingly enough, sarcasm inclusive). A few of the many tables, seats and tents out that evening! I can get pretty OCD and that particular day was no

I was interested in trying out Print Hall Bar and Dining Room for its 4 course dinner ($110). They also have a degustation option for $150. Located on the ground floor, people can enjoy drinks in the narrow outdoor area and people-watch. The long bar inside looks impressive with the use of lots of back-lighting which highlights the glint off glasses, beverage bottles and green plants on the shelves. On th

When you sign up for a meal that will cost $110 per person (food only), expectations are high. You expect a special atmosphere, exceptional service and of course, exquisite food. The Dining Room is on the ground floor of the beautiful Print Hall complex. Unlike the other dining areas in Newspaper House, bookings are available and are a great way to skip the line on Friday nights. The restaurant reflects the look of the building – classic chairs, beautiful glassware, wooden floorboards and tones of muted grey. The service is top notch – think de-crumbing service, re-folded and replaced white fabric napkins whenever dropped waywardly on the floor (me, constantly!) and our glasses never more than two sips from full. We started off our meal with the always delicious oysters – we chose our favourites from South Australia; before our four course meal. We had the rabbit and foie gras terrine, the organic slow cooked egg, the roasted pigeon breast, the king praw
The Fine Dining Club
Print Hall provided a complete dining experience for our first club review. A great dining experience starts at the very onset when you first pick up the phone and make that all exhilarating booking. Sometimes this can be an extremely daunting task especially of late when most restaurants seem to be imposing the 2 hour sitting “statute”. Thankfully, this was not the case with Print Hall as we were able to dine at our own leisure.

Hi everyone, I went to Print Hall Fine Dining a few Friday’s ago with some girlfriends from high school. We had been eyeing off Print Hall for the past few months and once everyone was back in the state and free we settled on a night to meet up and check it out. We chose to book into the Fine Dining restaurant as it was the only restaurant in Print Hall which took bookings and from the line that was present at 6:30pm we were very happy to have made a booking. There was a slight mix-up with my booking and it seemed to have gotten lost, however the staff at the restaurant were more than happy to find room for us and made sure that it was no problem at all. This was the only hick-up in our dinner and by the end of our meal it was a long forgotten one. Once seated we were offered water and the wine menu, which I was left in charge of. After flicking through the wine menu and finding that I had hit the jackpot of wine-heaven for Perth. After browsing the wine list for a few minutes the Somm

The bar menu is quite small food-wise but it does have a good selection of tap and bottled beers as well as an impressive wine list. The restaurant has a much wider selection of food, including a degustation menu, but given it was a mid-week lunch, we didn't have the time. Most of the bar food seemed to be tapas style and given we were all quite hungry we all went for the steak sandwich. I was quite surprised when it came out as it was closer to steak on toast than a “Steak Sandwich”, nevertheless it was delicious. Good quality steak cooked a perfect medium and the addition of beetroot made the whole thing taste great. It would be good to have a small description for certain menu items letting patrons know exactly what they’re ordering, but for $17 it wasn’t bad value at all given the quality of ingredients and how good it tasted.<br/>

Part of the Brookfield Place complex in the city, the Print Hall comprises of several bars and restaurant in the old West Australian newspaper building. The roof top bar is an ode to Australia’s larrikin former Prime Minister, Bob Hawke. Bob’s Bar is popular with young hip city dressers. The wine list was average, the service was good, the large ottomans, wooden outdoor furniture and roof top shrubs are nice. Love that part of the roof can close to keep the rain or cold out. It’s a slick city space that charges Perth city prices.<br/>

Print Hall's freshly shucked Coffin Bay oysters come served with a wedge of lemon and a small container of mignonette dressing with champagne and shallots. I'm salivating before I even get a taste!

Great debate saw us go for the Smoked Ocean Trout with crackled pumpernickel, lemon yoghurt, oyster and pickled shallot, $41. Also, the White Asparagus, gnocchi, goat’s cheese, salsify, artichoke, nasturtium, $39. This dish was beautiful. An artistically plated harmony of subtle flavours and melty textures. I'd order this again. The size and presentation of mains are promotive of a three-course meal. If you have an appetite I suggest two courses or getting some sides.

The chef recommended the veal be cooked medium well but I didn’t listen and asked for medium. I don’t know why I like blood but I do. The beautifully designed dish was a feast for the eyes and the stomach. One of the favourite components of the dish was the sweetbreads. We had no idea what it was till our plates were polished off and we could ask the waitress. The answer was a gland from the calf stomach.

The jar of crème caramel embodied all the rich honey flavours of Lochen Ora whisky leaving subtle lingering hints of spice of the palate. The chocolate cigar wasn’t gluten free however I was told it had very distinct smoky tobacco flavours and was an acquired taste that not all enjoyed. I cannot deny it makes me happy to know my gluten free component was the best part!

The service was impeccable, and it will definitely be a place I would love to take John back for him to experience. Thank you girls for celebrating another birthday with me. We get to do it again soon for Mei’s birthday.

My charcoal chicken looked superb and there was plenty of chicken on the plate, served on a bed of small kipfler potatoes, red peppers and red cabbage. Dollops of fresh chimichurri and a lemon wedge also accompanied the dish. The chicken was meaty and juicy to eat, and combined with a squeeze of lemon and some of the chimichurri, the meal became addictively delicious.

I’m in my second year of food blogging and still get surprised when people like my Facebook page  or leave a comment on a post, let alone receiving invites to openings or events. One of my recent invitations was to the opening of Print Hall, the new four-storey food and wine precinct within Brookfield Place, which opens officially to the public this Tuesday the 25th of September 2012. The Colonial Leisure Group, a Port Melbourne-based company that owns The Royal, The Raffles and the Colonial Brewing Company in Margaret River, was the company behind the restoration of the old Newspaper House. It would have been a massive project of restoring a heritage-listed site (I know a bit about this since my recent obsession with Grand Designs!) and then turning it into a landmark bar and restaurant venue over four levels. The view of the bar from the first floor balcony When A and I walked in, I was shocked at the enormous hall we entered. I had researched the venue beforehand, but wasn’t prepare

Our final course was a signature dish from Print Hall, their “Whisky and Cigars” – Lochan Ora, Cocoa Nib with Vasse Felix Cane Cut Semillon. Felt a little bit Mad Men pretending to puff on a cigar and quaff a whisky. Loved the presentation.

I’m a big fan of Brookfield Place. I think it’s an entirely brilliant addition to St George’s Terrace and has seen the opening of some very impressive restaurants. One of the more impressive eateries is the four storied Print Hall.      Print Hall, Perth’s first multi level dining and bar precinct, opened in the spring of 2012. The venue pays homage to its heritage-listed history, the old Newspaper House on St Georges Terrace. The venue boasts four levels of culinary and refined drinking options for every moment spearheaded by established chef and Print Hall’s Director of Food, David Coomer along with Head Sommelier, Daniel Wegener.   Designed by Projects of Imagination, key aspects of the historical building have been utilised including the internal atrium. Almost unfolding like a book, each level becomes a chapter, representative of the building’s printing origins creating a unique experience for everyone. So in the basement there is Small Print (brilliant coffee), on the ground floo

Once home to The West Australian newspapers, the iconic heritage listed newspaper house has been transformed to a beautiful four level bar and restaurant. As we entered Print Hall we were welcomed by the beautifully lit up open plan bar, which has as its feature a vertical wall of luscious pot plants...Print Hall opens to the public 25 September.

The Print Hall is part of the 4 level restaurant located in the Brookfield Place development and takes it’s name from the old headquarters of the daily newspaper, The West Australian. The basement / lane-way houses Small Print Bakery & Roastery – a casual cafe serving coffee, baguettes and sandwiches; Print Hall on the ground floor

A smallish rectangular room (which fills and become loud quite quickly), starched napkins, the City's most attentive waiters and sommeliers and the most extraordinary wine list. . . The food menu is a single page, four choices for each of the four course with complementary amuse, bread and petit four. Everything I tried was wonderful. Clever, precise and beautiful. . . the smoky salsify (unpictured) was my favourite. The most impressive document though was the wine list. 96 pages of obsessive detail and compulsive buying. They have pages devoted to particular producers (Giaconda for instance), vintages (1990) and the selection moves from the accessible to seriously geeky and impossible to find (and afford). They list the 1966 Jayer Echezeaux for instance ($11000). http://feeds.feedburner.com/WinoSapien Click here for the original context

The house made sauces and dressings included horseradish, cocktail sauce and mignonette. I guess bibs don't really match with the dress code of the place, but they would've come in handy as we twisted heads, cracked claws and plucked and sucked meat from tails.

The service is rather fantastic, even though they are run off their feet and are so new at it too. The dining experience was pleasant, with a lovely waitress, so softly spoken, with recommendations of her own when asked, who topped up our drinks, scrapped our table after our mains to rid of crumbs. The ambiance is chilled, relaxed and although there are many in suits it's not just for the business people. It's sophisticated, elegant without the pretentious-ness..

Anyway, let’s count the positives, shall we? And there’s quite a few of them. There’s the impeccable service. There’s the beautiful, well executed food from the interesting menu. It’s also pretty good value for fine dining in Perth (mains are around the $40 to $50 mark). Plus it’s inside an iconic building. What more could we ask for.

Smoked Ocean Trout (10 Crowns). The Smoked Ocean Trout came with a lemon yoghurt sauce topped with some pickled shallot. It was the least favorite dish for the table but I actually didn’t mind it. The Trout tasted fresh!

Print Hall is a dining complex built in an old newspaper house behind The Western Australian newspaper. Print Hall is made up of a large (and quite popular) bar on the ground level, a casual eatery downstairs and a rooftop terrace. The main dining room is on the same level of the bar, and is actually quite small in comparison. The large bar and my pricey AUS$25 vodka martini. Sticker Shock Drinks Despite the bar filled with after-work types, most people were drinking beer. And I wasn’t surprised when I checked
