Great staff, great food. Huge menu. Will defs be back š absolutely loved the bruschetta and the pasta was super creamy and delicious and the staff modified the pasta to make it vegetarian š± which I thought was very nice of them
Iāve come to this restaurant countless times but have only just started this account so unfortunately I can post what I got on Saturday(I normally get the pasta dishes which are amazing) what I got was like always amazing. Definitely recommend this place to anyone that goes to freo
Went here yesterday as a last minute booking as my friend found a Groupon deal for lunch. We had an entree of bruschetta. Which was great! Tasted like it was made using garlic bread as the base which I loved. I had the delicious lamb shanks! Probably the best lamb shanks Iāve ever had.. massive serving with amazing flavour. Not to mention, the fantastic service. I was struggling to finish the main after having the bruschetta and was offered to take it home takeaway. I often feel like a hassle asking so it was great that the waiter knew and made the offer when asking how our meal was. Will definitely be back š
I purchased a voucher from Living social but somehow there was an issue for Sunday bookings. I made a phone call to the restaurant and Anjel kindly helped sorted the issue.
We arrived at around 1pm and the restaurant was quiet, though I donāt understand why. The food and service were excellent!
We shared the bruschetta and arancini for entree. The bruschetta was loaded with the topping and the arancini was nicely flavored, although a bit too crispy for my liking.
For mains, we ordered and shared scaloppini, chicken parmi, lamb shanks, chilli mussels Large and pulled pork panini.
IMHO, the parmi, shanks and mussels were just excellent and well flavored. Better than some Italian restaurants weāve been to. Lamb were off the bone, sauce was tasty. Chicken was crispy and chili mussels sauce was flavorsome.
Pulled pork panini and scaloppini were just ok... Pulled pork needs a bit more sauce and scaloppini meat needs to been seasoned more first.
Overall, a very nice Italian restaurant with quality food and friendly staff. One negative was just if they could turn on the AC as the day was quite hot and we kept sweating while eating.
Oh wow, the burger from here hit the spot! And great value with chips on the side. I ordered through UberEATS and it was delivered super quickly and everything was piping hot. Yum!
Had breakfast here with my wife. She got the special - mushroom bruschetta. I got the big breakfast. We were both very impressed with our food. For me, every element was perfect and delicious - crispy bacon, chunky bread, perfect runny poached eggs, nice spicy relish. Even the tomato and mushroom were packed full of flavour. Coffees were on point too.
Service was outstanding - super friendly, quick and attentive.
Will definitely be coming back!
Best breaky! Went there this morning and couldnāt fault a thing! Service was great - very friendly waiter and the coffee and food was spectacular! Definitely worth a visit!
Thanks for lovely breaky Cafe D Freo š
An unexpected gem!! We came here after the Capri was full and really enjoyed it! Entree platter was large and full of tasty little treats. Mains of lamb ravioli and prawn linguine were fresh and tasty!!! BYO and friendly service make this a must return.
We ate their last night with friends, I must say it was a wonderful experience. I had the prawn linguine, sensational. The shared tasting plate for starters was also very nice. All and I mean all of the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend eating here.
Family mid week night out. Firstly, we were greeted by a friendly and efficient waitress, she explained the menu well, and what the house specialties were (house made pasta).
We ordered some share entrees:
Arachini balls were ok, a bit dry, but passable. The prawn dish with a lemon and butter sauce was very good, and well complimented by the fresh crusty bread. The tasting plate of arachini, Italian sausage, grilled eggplant & zucchini, olives and toasted bread was ok, but was a bit dry - it needed a dip or olive oil to wet the plate.
Mains of pork pappardelle, lamb ravioli (large pasta), seafood marinara were all good, but the portions were far too big, leaving a fair bit of leftovers. The veal masala was a let down, just too sweet.
Desserts of tiramisu, and cookies and cream cake were good.
Overall it was good value for money, efficient and byo.
Well situated in Fremantle (not far from Fremantle Market). Can be a bit tricky to find parking when it's busy but it's pretty expected in Freo anyways.
Food is fantastic. We are blown away by the lamb shanks. It's soft, really tasty with the whipped potatoes. I will highly recommend it.
We also have chilli mussels which to our slight disappointment some of them are not overly fresh (doesn't taste well). However I thought the overall food experience & the service provided are really good.
Hence I like to overlook the "mussel" taste issue & still rate it 5 stars. Will definitely revisit them for other of their food & will refine the ratings if needed. š

Family friendly food at a family friendly price.
I went past this place too many times before I came here finally for dinner. It looked too tacky and awkward for my liking, but I am running out of Fremantle eateries to try.
To my surprise on a Friday night it was fairly full up up market sorts and most other tables were booked. The space presents a bit empty however a bit like a good court, but maybe thatās its charm? The food is hearty and a little home style which I really like, prices reasonable and service very friendly.
I had the chicken Parma with side of spaghetti bog, my GF had the salmon salad. Wine list also well chosen. I had the house red and I came back for 3. Worth a visit.
Note to the owner: I thought the name sucked so I avoided, it doesnāt do the place any justice. Itās better than the name says. The food is Italian - I didnāt even know that! A nice traditional Italian name would be a good idea - we just lost la porchetta near millennium so you are ripe to take its spot.
Not enough staff Friday night, two lovely girls trying their heart out, made mistakes and were obviously run off their feet. Need 1 - 2 more, to bring a more relaxed service atmosphere at least.
Again, music is king! Think about adding some.
Sunday breakfast.
Not overly busy however we waited 1 hour for our food. I didnt mind as it gave us time to chat however not everyone in my group felt the same way.
One thing we could all agree on though ws the food, it was superb.
The service was pleasant, the waitress did not keep coming to us but one came when she needed to. The knowledge of the food by the waitress and the chief is really good any questions we ask and they knew the answer. The most important is that the food was top notch it was delicious, and there are more options on the menu that I will need to try. The atmosphere is cosy and comfortable, with the benches and chair.
I was really wowed from the moment we were attended at this cafe, it has classic pub vibes, but it's also classy. The service is great and personal, and the dishes are very generous in portion and flavour. I was amazed at the duck and waffle dish, such perfect textures and flavors which go very well combined, it's a must-try at this place. The place is spacious and good for groups, I definitely want to return for lunch to try some authentic Italian food.
My partner bought a breakfast voucher from one of those online deal merchants for this venue, $19 breakfast for two with coffee. My expectations were fairly low, and I'm pleased to say I was blown away! The food was outstanding, the staff attentive, polite, and friendly. Above all absolutely outstanding value. We will return to see if their dinner offer is just as good, with expectations being a lot higher after our first visit. The only down side I can mention is that the restaurant was more or less empty, I think there may have been only one other table when we arrived at 8.30am on a Saturday morning. A few more people came to dine while we were there, but not many. I think this could be accounted to it being a new venue. Not much atmosphere, which was fine over breakfast, but if we were having dinner and wine it would have been a little sad.
Three of us dined here on a Thursday night and we couldn't have been happier with everything. The seafood platter was amazing, the home made spaghetti bologna was generous and very tasty and we shared a mixed entree. Such big serves that a doggy bag was required. We will definitely be back. Keen to give the breakfast menu a go too.
Visited Cafe d Freo on a Groupon voucher and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Food selection is enormous as are the servings and the flavour took us right back to Venice. House wine was lovely and crisp and the service was second to none. When things arrive at your table before you ask for them you know you are in good hands. Thoroughly recommend and we will return!!!!
