For the absolute best of Perth we absolutely love Kailis Bros Leederville for buying by far the best quality fish in Perth and their restaurant is excellent top class amazing flavors that saviche and fresh oysters are a must !! the only part of the meal I can never understand is the dessert - after you excellent plates and perfect wine list. I would love some fresh sorbet!
Great food excellent service the oysters and lobster were to die for the only restaurant in Perth I’ve never had a bad meal in 🙂🙂🙂
Fresh and high-quality seafood – you get what you pay for. Good selection of seafood prepared in different styles (both european and asian) and executed well.
Come here on the regular and always get the squid salad as it is absolutely amazing and perfect size for lunch.
I really liked their service, the staff were very nice, the lady taking our order offered a kids pasta to my younger daughter as they didn’t have pasta on the menu and my daughter really wanted that. We started with the crispy squid which was very good and the noodle salad was quite refreshing, then we had half lobster and barramundi with white sauce, both of the dishes were really good as well

You know the seafood will always be fresh at Kailis Brothers restaurant in Leederville, sitting right alongside their justifiably famous fish market where a huge array of freshly caught seafood is on display. The restaurant itself is a large, light, airy space with comfortable furniture and attentive waiters.
Kailis’ in Leederville has long been a favourite of mine - I’ve enjoyed many wonderful times there!! I have a plethora of happy memories related to it, from the comforting decadence of the chowder after hospital visits, to celebrating the completion of a degree with oysters and bubbles, and, yes, purchasing seafood at 7am for Christmas lunch! I live in Melbourne these days, but every trip home to Perth involves a visit to Kailis’. 😊
My visit yesterday was even better than usual.
First to the food - the taramasalata was delicious, the oysters were plump and juicy, every bit of seafood on Chef Kosta’s plate was cooked to perfection, and the salad was exquisite in its simplicity, yet had us fighting over who would get to finish the last morsels of flavour. This feast was complemented by selections from the Gin Library (I highly recommend the Gin Roku!) and a crisp Pinot Gris.
I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the great vibe of the place is one of the reasons I love it! Yesterday’s visit was no different, all the staff were great, but the meal was made an absolute joy by one particular waitress, Lavinia. 😊 I honestly can’t praise her enough - she is an absolute superstar! 🌟 She provided the kind of service that should be shown as an exemplar to every person working in hospitality, in fact it’s a shame she can’t be cloned! 😊 Above and beyond in every aspect.
Anyone that offers to add fresh strawberries to my ice cream with topping* for the ‘conservation of dignity’, and then checks in to make sure I was feeling suitably sophisticated earns top marks for repartee in my books!!! Thank you Lavinia for being brilliant, and shout outs go to the entire team at Kailis’ for consistent excellence.
*yes, I ordered dessert from the kids’ menu. Don’t judge me, it was delicious! 😎
Kailis is not your average fish and chips bar so be prepared to pay more but their food is definitely more refined and memorable. The fish was fresh and chunky with the ideal layer of crisp batter. The salt and pepper calamari was a little bland although nicely presented.
Our favourite Uber Eats order! Very reasonably priced fish and chips, that are never oily and always generously portioned. Sometimes the fish is over cooked, but mostly it is fresh and tasty. The house made tartare sauce is a favourite, and the Greek salad is huge and makes for the perfect side dish.

What can one say. We dined there earlier this Monday Evening.
Food Excellent, Service Excellent.
Garlic Prawns, Fish with an excellent salad & Crayfish to die for & then topped off with Ice Cream with Honey Pop Corn.
The attention provided to us by the tall waiter in the blue shirt was to be commended.
10/10 for the food - fresh and delicious.
9/10 for service- dash and friendly.
-1/10 for the fish market service 😡. Very rude and unhelpful.
First dinner for the new year. Service is good and food is fresh. Not too busy compared to Christmas Eve. Been a loyal diner at Kailis for > 10 years. Seafood is delicious and Kailis never fails to impress with their dishes. Waitress is friendly and the duty manager is helpful when one dish came out undercooked.
Can’t say much about about the fish market - staff were rude and unhelpful. I was told , “...What do you want?...” and “...You have to speak louder!...”. I’m sure a simple “How can I help you?”, will do. Such hospitality is just not acceptable. Again, can’t fault the freshness of their seafood.
Will come again, maybe not through the seafood market the next time. 👍
Went to Kailis on 16/12/2017 for dinner with my brother and sister in-law.
Ambiance - was surprised at how lovely it was inside (not sure what I was expecting, but my brother had said ‘let’s have fish & chips’, so I think I was expecting a super casual place). ✅✅✅
Service - we were seen to fairly quickly and and wait staff were friendly. We ordered a few starters to share, and got our order mixed up, bringing out 3 dozen oysters kilpatrick, however were quick to rectify the order! (Otherwise that’s about $150 on starters!)✅✅
Food - everything was delicious, I had to trout with fennel and orange salad. Which made my taste buds water! We were not sure about getting dessert, but asked to see the menu. Our wait staff brought a selection with view and explained what each one was... so clearly we ordered some!!! We got two to share. ✅✅✅
Value for money - 💰 ✅✅
