Review Took Bae Kee - Perth

Xin Liang
Good and friendly restaurant, owner is Korean, so the food very genuine. Just the portion is a bit small. We had army stew and thought it’s one of those big and for 3-4 pax, however, comes up only a small one.
Stephanie Tan
would say that price is a bit high for the portion but food overall is 👍. sometimes the restaurant can get a bit noisy and loud. seafood pancake is very fluffy and crunchy but the other dishes can be a bit oily. staff are very kind and friendly :)
TheNZLILY
Love the ginseng chicken soup which is $22.00; wonderful soup and chicken is too good to enjoy. Small restaurants with very clean and tidy setting.
Maisie Lim
Authentic Korean food. Wife variety of stews and bibimbap. Have visited this place for many years and food quality has remained consistently good.
Jeremy Chia
A decent Korean restaurant. I'd definitely recommend it. I like their pancakes
Sean Morrison
Absolute favourite in the city Kimchi pancake is a must. The new location is roughly twice the size of the original restaurant. As others have said the menu hasn't changed, you can however order a beer now which is really nice.

Ordered spicy beef soup and spicy squid hot plate dish. I prefer the spicy squid better than the spicy beef soup mainly because it is has more favour than just being spicy. I will like the dishes more if they are a little sweeter since that's what I'm accustomed to when I eat Korean food. Still finished the dishes as they're okay. Will be looking to try other dishes instead.

We ordered two dishes, tolsot bibimbat and pork kimchi soup. Bibimbat is okay, they used thin cut frozen beef, nothing special, and the sesame oil on rice is bit too much, kind of make the rice soggy and oily . Kimchi soup come with side dishes. I love the marinated potato, and sweet bean. But Kimchi pork soup is seriously disgusting. The "not fresh" pork smell is strong, and the soup is so greasy. The oil from the soup is the actual grease melt from pork fat and skin with HAIR, and some unknown pork parts like pork ear as shown as picture. We came here because of the google review, but it doesn't seem to be on par with my expectations... Not sure if i ordered the "no go" dishes or went to "no go" restaurant...

Had to wait outside for a table but that’s usually a good sign. The food was absolutely delicious and received the tick of approval from my boyfriend has eaten lots of korean (in Korea). The service was also very good and the food is cheap!
Taekyun Kim
Cheap and bad. I will never visit again. Fish soup was made from canned fish, so very cheap but bad. Dumpling was cold. I guess they use just microwave, not steaming or boiling. Many sold out menus, side menus was better than main menus.
Sharondefoodie
Visited this place by chance because they close late on a Friday night. Small simple shop, low prices, delicious food. Definitely recommend giving it a go.

Just cannot get enough of this place, it’s authentic, value for money and most importantly, delicious! Staff are always helpful and polite and their mackerel soup always leaves me wanting more!

This is an institution for Korean food places in Perth, which I have frequented for more than a decade. It's still a cramped little restaurant that probably seats about 20-24 people and not much has changed in years.

Decor aside, it's very good and straightforward home-style Korean cooking (and chef happy to oblige if you request extra spicy) at reasonable prices. Their spicy soups are always highly recommended and sizzling spicy [pork|beef|seafood|squid|fish].
This restaurant is very close to the hotel I stayed in. The location is fantastic. I really love the kimchi pancake. Very tasty and the price is very good. Worth trying anyway

This is our favourite Korean place, my husband and I have been going there for years, consistently great taste and always very friendly service :). Our favourite dishes are the pork and kimchi pancake, sizzling spicy fish fillets, and sizzling soy pork spare ribs - strongly recommended!
JuYeethejoey
We ordered the ginseng chicken that is served in a claypot. It was boiling hot and smelled really good. Its a whole chicken with glutinious rice stuffed in it. It also comes with a few side dish but not steamed rice. Kimchi pancake is a must to order.

Nice food & nice place. The price reasonable. They serve authentic Korean dish. My parents like it much. The taste is good. Not too spicy. Suitable for the young and old
Lily
Went in for an early dinner, though food came out quite slow it was of good quality and fantastic for such a cheap price. Really enjoyed this meal 🍴
Foodie In Paradise
Been here multiple times and food always good and cheap. We normally go to the other branch due to their location. Service is friendly and efficient. Great cheap eat place within the CBD.
Onebiteatatime
I have been here 4 times now and the food has been consistently flavourful! Food was also served very promptly.
Would've gave it 5 stars if more vegetarian options were available!
DforDee
Great place for Korean food. We didn’t order anything spicy as the kids were with us. We had the seafood vegetable pancake (yum), marinated beef (yum) and soy chicken (yum)! Very happy with the food, kiddies approve! And I really hope they can do outdoor seating next time as that would be so much better for mums/dads coming with Prams.
Lamb Pickles
One of my favourite places to eat fish roe soup, soondae guk and soybean stew! Have been visiting here since I've first arrived in WA - I remember the sweet taste of those beans and their other delicious banchan.
Eric Mu
Love this place, AUTHENTIC Korean food provided. Tasty food, good service, convenient location and reasonable price. Make sure you come early before dinner time, otherwise you have to wait outside for a table.
Ilovebeansprouts
Great pancakes here- crispy sides and delicious. The simmering soups are heart-warming and flavourful, and sizzling BBQ dishes are done well. Love the Sizzling Sweet & Spicy Baby Octopus and Squid Tubes in particular; the chilli spice really kick up the flavour factor. Bibimbaps are alright, but not a fan of their Sweet Potato Noodles or Rice Cake dishes. Overall, a great place for simple Korean food. Service is good and food is very well-priced
Lphpurple
Pretty good food. First day here and find this small Korean restaurant. The pancake is good. The price is good. Love the place. Have lunch there and definitely will go there again for dinner
Lady X
One of my favourite places for Korean food in Perth! This small place gets pretty packed during peak hours. Had the seafood and vegetable pancake which was really crispy and not too oily. Also enjoyed the spicy squid and pork stir fry and chicken yukgaejang! Overall you can get affordable and yummy food at this place
Sumobunny
Went there for lunch today, and I was disappointed with what I ordered. I had Beef sweet potato noodles (Japchae), which tasted very soupy and portion was really small. It was not worth the price at all.
LittleAsianGirl
Love love love soondubu jigae as well as the kimchi jigae. Their stews never disappoint me. The kimchi pancake is delicious. Crunchy on the sides and matching well with the salty dipping sauce. Always a pleasure to come back to dine here.

Worth a wander through the CBD to this great little Korean place. It's a few streets and a skip over from the CBD buzz. It can get busy and it's a tiny place, so get in early. Dishes are incredibly cheap and the sizzling octopus was a notable favourite. The chilli japchae was surprisingly mild and lacking in the sweet and salty soy kick. We have been here a few times and rarely spend more than $40 for 2, sampling mains and entrees.
Luisa
Delicious, reasonably priced and authentic Korean food! The pancakes are amazing! I also had one of their pork soup for dinner which came with rice and other side dishes. Yum! It is a small reaturant, so either get there early, or you might have to wait for a bit.
Diana A
Weirdly although it appears to be apart of a chain the food at the other outlet is much better. Im unsure how this can be the case but alas it is true. I think the difference is they actually bbq your meat in the other place where as at ths joint it looked different - as though it had been fried rather then bbqed so in future I will stick to the other place.

Today was a very hot day in Perth and I was waling around the CDB area when I decided to look for something to eat. I just had a large cup of juice so I wasn't looking for a big meal, just a light 'snack'.

I came across this restaurant as I was walking around and came for some toppoki. The place itself was not very big and it was packed during lunchtime. The service was very good, though. Immediately upon entering, a staff directed me to a seat and ordering was also easy.

I only had the mild spicy toppoki with the seasonal vegetables, and I quite like it. It was kind of too spicy for me, but I can't really take spicy food so I think most people will find it not too spicy. The rice cakes were nice and chewy and the sauce was also good at first, before the heat got to me. I also found the portion to be quite generous as there are quite a lot of rice cakes, enough for one to two people if you're sharing and ordering other dishes.

I was in quite a hurry so I didn't notice that we could add extra toppings so I plan on adding them next time. The only thing I found to be missing is that there are no options for a cheese topping. I don't know if we can add cheese or not but I really enjoy cheese on my toppoki.

Overall, seeing the crowd during lunchtime, I'd say the food is okay and also reasonably priced. I'd like to come back and try more of the food here!
Casey
I had dinner here in Australia Day and it was great! The price is fantastic all of this plus two soft drinks for $36.00 I recommend a visit.
Mr Robot
Upon entering this seemingly subtle Korean restaurant, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and shown our seats. There was a large variety of Korean cuisine for selection, however I opted for Bibimbap to satisfy my cravings. The food arrived in a reasonable time frame, not too quickly nor did it take too long and came with a fair amount of side dishes. The bibimbap tasted authentic, flavoursome and tasty with a generous amount of chilli sauce applied. All in all, I definitely recommend this place for a bite!
Ze Meddler
Fantastic, authentic Korean. TBG has been around for a while. Most of the menu items are authentic Korean stir fries and soups, with a few of the other usual things you would find at a Korean restaurant.

The soups are probably the best, especially the spicy ones. Took Bae Gi Bulgogi is always a good takeaway option when you're lazy to cook and I think they have some cold dishes for the upcoming warmer weather too. Order anything and it'll be delicious. We come here almost weekly in winter. Frickin' good eats!
Kudokun
Small and cosy! Came here with my colleague Tracey as she loved Took Bae Kee so much! I have to agree as this small place actually has big flavour! You have to come earlier though to guarantee a sit. Price is not too bad with relatively decent portion, and rice, and side dishes (3-4 small plates at no further cost!). So it is actually quiet worth it.

Flavor wise is also decent and authentic korean. I like their rice cake (tokpoki), bbq beef, and the fried noodle that is packed with prawns, tofu, fish cake and many more (it is spicy but really refreshing). Staff is polite too and the food come in quiet quick so idea for office lunch.
More Than Nourishment
This place is small so get in early. We arrived just before 12pm (they open at 11:30am) and got one of the last table left. Between the three of us, we got the seafood pancake, rice cakes in spicy pepper sauce, sweet and spicy squid tubes and spicy pork. The food came out very quickly and fresh. I especially liked the pancake which was crispy on the edges and the pork which was so tender. The serving sizes were generous given the cheap price (we were very full). This may be our new go to plan for Korean. Will definitely be back!
Shawn
Our favourite Korean restaurant in Perth. Love their bulgogi, octopus dishes. Also love the seafood pancake. We keep coming back here as the price is reasonable and the food is good.
Dolba
Chose to head here for their Clay Pot dishes and we clearly bought more than we bargained for.

My mate's Clay Pot came out with the contents still boiling for several minutes. The theatre was as welcome as the rest of the dish, bursting with flavour and the meat falling apart.

Their BBQ dishes are equally awesome as are the steamed and fried dumplings.

I found their pancakes to have too much onion but then it might've just been the one we chose.

Prices are borderline insane. Insanely cheap that is.

Do yourself a flavour.
Amy Lu
Excellent quality and good value Korean food. I always order a sizzling plate or a spicy soup and the standard of food is always consistent. The portions, although not generous, aren't skimpy. Small place with few tables, so it can get busy.
Vicky Happy Girl
Simple Korean food, tasty. Service is very warm.
Eat in gets 4 small free snack dishes. Takeaway only gets one.
Next door to the Seasons of Perth hotel. Convenient
Dee Dee
Food was good and it comes with steam rice and side dishes. I ordered thinly sliced beef and enjoyed it very much. Becareful when you order spicy though - their spicy is really spicy.
Williespants
There's two of these restaurants within 5mins walk, but this one seems to taste better. Very small, so get there earlier to have a chance. Ordered a variety of items - thick rice cake with red pepper sauce, pork bond spicy soup with veg, kimchi pancake, assorted side dishes, handmade noodle in black bean sauce and sizzling bbq beef short ribs in soy marinade. Generally the flavours were good, well marinated, and quality quite decent for casual dining.
Oliviamoo
great service. But the rice hotpot is not really cooked well (no flavour and the bottom is not hot enough to get rice crust). We ordered another beef soup which is bit over spicy for a Sichuan girl. The chill totally covered the flavor of beef.
Anna K
Was introduced to this place by my best friend when we couldn't decide what to eat. Wasn't expecting much and was a little worried when he started ordering pretty much everything on the menu as prior experience with Korean bbq meant the meal would be really expensive. Thought that we might have to stay behind to do the dishes lol. Food came out reasonably fast, was super delicious, and the price was so much cheaper than I expected! We were both bloated by the end of the meal, but boy was it fantastic. The staff are really friendly as well!
El
Cheap, quick and variety describe this place well. Sizzling Rice Cakes and Pan Fried Dumplings were delicious. Chicken Stew was rather bland and boring for me, but I admit it's not something I am used to and I was told it's a popular traditional home cooked dish. The Cold Soba Noodles were also kind of bland unless you mixed in some of the spicy sauce, but they had a good texture.
It's a tiny and popular place, so either go during the week or get in super early.
Courtzi123
DELICIOUS.

I ordered the kimchi soup two nights in a row with my partner. I've eaten at a lot of Korean restaurants and this one has to be in the top 3. The friendliness of the staff and richness of the kimchi soup is simply divine. The meals also take between 10-15minutes to prepare depending on how busy they are :)
Reynaldo
Tried miso stir fried seafood which came with generous side dishes and rice for $13 only. It was good and tasty. The only thing i do not like from the place is the seating arrangement. Feel a bit cramped seated
Evonne
Best haemul pajeon in Perth ! Super crunchy!! Priced well for all your favourites, pajeon is $8. Popular, so gets busy and full quickly. Went at 1130 and was fairly empty, but quickly filled over the next 15 min.

All time favourite! Friendly staffs and good service. Love most of their dishes - ginseng chicken soup, bulgogi dishes, kimchi jigae, seafood pancake and bibimbap etc. Only drawback is there's usually a line during dinner time. Highly recommended!
Monmon
Besides of the small place, this restaurant is my fave place for korean in the city. But today we just realised the food is not that spicy anymore. We ordered chilli pork and squid, toboki and cold kimchi noodle soup, their special soup for summer which wasn't really good for our opinion.. But the chilli pork and squid was the champion. The squid was just perfect and not rubbery.. But if you like spicy food, better order to be more spicy.

For the first time in the 17 years I've lived in Perth I planned to join in the craze of Boxing Day Sales. Mr. T and I arrived in the city by 9am and we were pumped, moving from store to store and buying things we never knew we needed at the speed of light. By 11 we were both exhausted and hangry. I knew exactly what I wanted for lunch, bibimbap! And, I knew exactly where I wanted to go, Took Bae Kee! As if by fate, it turned out on boxing day took bae kee opened earlier, which meant we didn't have to wait a minute longer to enjoy our delicious Korean food.
Jellyphine
One of my to-go places for a quick and tasty korean cuisine for a weeknight dinner. I almost always order the dumplings soup in a hot stone bowl and always love the small side dishes that come with my meal.
Cherikstony
This is our favourite Korean restaurant in Perth. We aim to go here at least once every two weeks for their delicious beef soup and pancakes! The taste is definitely authentic, and portions are quite good, I normally cannot finish a whole of soup by myself. The service is nice too! Definitely on my recommendation list to all the Korean food lovers out there!
Foodie R.
the best beef bone soup i have ever had. YUM.... perfect for winter. other than that, Kimchee pancake is a korean dish that i will order every time. Restaurant is very tiny, so can't really go with a big group of friends.
Basosapi
Love this place. Place was small and cozy and busy during lunch time. But always managed to get a place before the peak hour and service always good :) love the spicy beef soup. Always ordered those when I come. Might be very spicy to some people though.

Update: went there again. Took some pic of the soup and had kimchi pancake too. Good food as always

Great hot pot and really helpful staff, would go back again every night if I could for dinner! Will be back to try other dishes. Thanks to the helpful staff

YUM YUM YUM!!!!!!! 맛있어요!!. Best Korean restaurant in Perth! Loved everything, especially the teoppokki with spicy sauce, beef bulgogi japchae, kimchi jeon and squid pork bulgogi! 감사합니다!
Lindanho1204
Yum!. Best korean food in the city! I always go here
Joanna Lindsay
Wrong address. I'm pretty sure this restaurant is actually on Pier St. Yes, it's awesome :)

It's right next to a Korean grocery store from memory.

I am a Korean and I can tell you. This is the best Korean restaurant in Perth

The price is ok but it is kid meal.

Keep coming back for more.. Great food at great prices. Been here many times. Love the side dishes as well.

Cheap food that is consistently good; a true rarity in Perth.

Hello!. Does this place still exist?
Seems to be a kebab shop!

Delicious!!. By far, the best Korean restaurant in Perth in my opinion!! Tasty and authentic !!

9 out of 10 !!
Munchk1n
Average food for price paid. Definitely not the best Korean food in town. Kimchi pancake was too doughy and a little undercooked. Sizzling BBQ spicy pork was tasteless (although we did request very mild)...very small quantity of thinly sliced pork camouflaged with mostly carrots and onion. Sorry, won't be back again!
Palateofcritique
Great little Korean joint... This place had some decent authentic Korean cuisine. The restaurant is small and is almost always full but the food and service was impeccable.
Will definitely return.. :-)
Jojostar
The best samgyetang !
Jolene Ho
A must-go!. I've been here 3 times already. the staff are nice, small restaurant, they get busy during lunch and dinner, especially. you would have to 'Q' at least 15mins to get a table if they're packed inside. i absolutely love their Ginseng Chicken soup. Tender, with ginseng stuffed into the chicken. Yes, it is a whole chicken. the ginseng taste is NOT strong at all, so not to worry. If you love kimchee, try their Kimchee Soup, love how its so sour and spicy. mains are mostly $11-18. they have NEW TRADING HOURS. they're opened from Tues-Sun, 1130hr-2000hr. CLOSED on Mondays. (:

Fantastic !!. What more can I say : )

Like this place! Have been there for quite a few times, and really there's nothing to complain about. Staff are nice and love all the food, prices are also reasonable. Favorite korean resto so far!
Mameshiba
Korean ftw. Great food, service and funny sugary drinks. Try the pancake and bbq pork, they're delish!
Craig Rowe
So consistent!. My Korean partner and I go to this place all the time as it is just so consistently good and value for money. Sure, it isn't some fancy place trying to win you over with an expensive fit out but I can categorically say that for the price you pay, the food is just bloody good! My favourite thing about Took Begi is that every dish is authentic and tastes good. Must have tried every dish on the menu now and yet to be disappointed. Like all Korean food, it is not for the folks who can't handle chilli...but if you do, try the chilli tofu soup....amazing taste and very healthy. Highly recommend
Esther Ng
Best service I EVER had in a Korean restaurant, staff are always so nice and accommodating! kimchi pancake here has changed a little, used to be better but still gd!
John Lee
In reply to Schtef... Its not msg, its miso paste or miso chilli paste. Its all natural . I can never understand ppl like u. I mean, y cant u ask them to redo ur food, rather than kept eating the over *msg* food? They dont know ur taste , u dont like it, just ask for a replacement !
Marijana Znidarec Dell'Arciprete
Awesome food, great service and very reasonably priced. The pork and veg dumpling and spicy beef bulgogghi were delicious! Was a liitle hard to find...just off hays st in smaller side street opposite kings hotel, has a red lit sign at night.
Andy
Yummy Korean food. The food here is very tasty . I like the fried dumplings stuffed with glassy noodle . U should def try the spicy cold noodle . U must also try the pan cake as well
Koala Koala
Cosy, tucked away discovery that generates a 'street' feel that is quite endearing. Food cooked with the sure touch and confidence only native to a Korean . 6/10
Pris
Great!. Cramped dining area but the best place to be during winter. Soups and noodles are great here. For me, pancakes here are much better than eg. pancakes served at Cori Anna and Tong 86.

Service is efficient too. Note: its hard to get a table during peak hours and its cash only (as I recall from memory)
Schtef
Tasty but full of MSG. I've been here a few times but each time I come and eat, I can tell the food is loaded with MSG.
Last time I had the Al Tang (fish egg soup) which was delicious, but we all know why! I wish restaurants would stop pumping their food full of MSG and rely on natural flavours instead.
Linda
The spicy sizzling chicken/squid and their kimchi is the best out of all! yummmm
'Jupiter Xent
My all time favorite Korean restaurant that serves authentic Korean food. Loves the side dishes but noticed the portion on bulgogi dishes have shrunk over the years.
Mr Fussy
Kimchee addict. I have been here so many times it's not funny. I thnk this is my No.1 favourite Perth restaurant.

If you like Korean food, this is the place for you - if you can get a table.

It's a tiny, cramped little place - you will find it by looking for the big crowd milling around outside - they're the people waiting for a table.

Order a pancake, these are fantastic. I'm also a big fan of the spicy bulgogee (but a word of warning this is very hot)

It's also a great place for lunch - bibimbap is a wonderful, healthy lunch.
Js0n1
Another quality cheap eat. This is another nice little hidden gem, tucked away on the corner of murray and hay st, yet busy all days of the week... and that's really saying something. The food is fantastic.. I just wish I could try more of the offerings in one sitting. Best of all.. you can walk in the korean grocery next door and also the IGA and grab one of the korean ice creams for dessert.
Eve Lin
My fave korean place!. The best korean place in perth with reasonably-priced dishes and friendly service. Absolute must-trys are the pancakes (kimchi/seafood) and a chicken-in-herbal soup dish (can't rem the exact name). You can even eat the chicken bones in the latter for extra calcium cos they have been boiled so long they are soft and edible haha.. My friend loves the bibimbak- she has it every single time she's there so it shld be quite gd too. There was a killer spicy dish though, think it's called the spicy kimchi soup or something similar. Very spicy but oh so good! Go early else you might hafta wait outside for damn long.
Kouheikato19
No good. Quality of food is average.

However, the service level is poor. The restaurant is so small and I was told to wait outside the restaurant when I order the take away food. What kind of restaurant ask their customer to wait outside when it rains outside.

Very poor manner.
Tinkerbell
Very authentic Korean dishes. It is approved and recommended by all of my Korean friends :). Staff was very friendly and service was quick. Food was really really good. The restaurant is rather small in size and seat capacity, therefore the turn down was waiting in line to get in. It varied from 30 mins up to an hour waiting. Well if you are lucky you can get straight in but that didnt seem to apply to me many times i went there. It sure worths the wait.
JR24
The best Korean iv ever tryed in Perth! Every time I go, I can never really finish my dish cuz it's too spicy, but that's the fun in Korean food! Always crowded, very good service, and great food.
Otiskunn
Excellent service with a very authentic Korean food. Try Bulgoghi (Korean BBQ) if you don't like spicy food. Try Jaeyuk bbokum (spicy pork) if you like spicy food. Try soondoobu (spicy bean curd pot) if you are semi vegeterian. Every dish comes with authentic vegetable dishes and you can always ask for more of side dishes for free.
Eatlikeme
What's Korean for very good??. Well this has been one of my fave lil place. This place never dissapoint.. the service from the girls are great.
Food is yummy and love the condiments they serve prior your food coming out. I recommend the bibimbap and the spicy beef/ seafood soup.. trust me they are not as hot as it looks and the dumplings are fabulous!
Terrine De Lapin
You never knew there were so many Koreans working in the CBD until you came here...but it's a good sign that the food will be good!
Hungryagainperth
Whenever I get Korean cravings, I like to satisfy myself in the maximum possible way. The best way is to go all out and make a hole in your wallet by splurging on Korean BBQ buffet, a surefire way to refill and overfill the hole in your stomach. But at times when you feel a little fat, or feel a little poor, there are other delicious cheaper means to please. So once you learn to tame your innate animalistic instinct to opt for the endless meat buffet meal, you will start to appreciate the other relatively animal-friendly side of Korean cuisine. It took me a while, but I eventually got there. Assorted Side Dishes The thing I love about eating Korean is the generosity of it all. Your meals are always paired with little endless side dishes that you can keep asking to be refilled, without getting rejected. Where else could you get that luxury? The assortment of side dishes goes by a rotational variety, with this particular visit bringing dishes of soft marinated bean sprouts, crisp pickled

Likes: sweet potato noodles with an awesome texture, interesting menu; Value for money: decent
Megz Murali
...their Kimchi soup is to die for! Sour and spicy at the same time, it is the best thing to have on a chilly day. Also good is the stone pot delicacies.
Joey
For those who are planning a visit, do try their spicy fish roe soup (Al Tang), though it is really quite spicy, and their cold-wheat noodle.
Jojo
Although it's a small place, they put a lot of effort into the small details on the spoon which was quite interesting. It just makes you feel that they are very hygienic; which is good.
Cook.eat.carouse.
I was expecting a slapdash food from a place like Took Be Gi. The inside of the restaurant is quite small. Its entrance is tucked away around the corner of Hay St, at Pier St. For a reasonably priced korean food, they dished out a reasonable variety of banchan. I loved them all, the sweet lotus root with a sprinkling of sesame seeds, the cool beansprouts, the salty crackly nori, and the spicy kimchi. Yukgaejang - $11 Their yukgaejang was tasty and satisfying. No beef chunks in sight, just beef strips. Plenty of bean sprouts, spring onions and bracken. I am somewhat disappointed of the lack of potato noodle, though. It clearly said in the menu that there should be potato noodle in this dish.

If you ask a Korean who has spent a bit of time in Perth, chances are that Took Bae Kee will be on their list of Korean restaurants they recommend. Situated on the east side of Perth near some other Korean establishments (next to a small Korean grocer and

This particular one; Took Bae Kee 1 (Took Begi) does good dishes at student friendly prices and when they have two restaurants a block from each other (the one I went to is number 1 and is the original one - duh!) and there is always a huge line here for dinner (exception of Monday nights), you know you are in good hands.
Mei
I don’t think I’ve had a bad dish here and after countless visits, that’s really something. If you love Korean food, no doubt you’ve already been here. If you haven’t fallen in love with banchan, bulgogi and bibimbap, come here and find a new love.
