Shhh, don't tell anyone about this place! Great cocktails, food and jazzy vibe. Staff were fantastic as well. Will be heading back soon.

Nice atmosphere, live band. Food is delicious. Cocktail was very nice. Bar tender very friendly. Better make bookings. Suitable for ladies over 35.
Erin
Great little place with awesome music, tasty tapas and a classy vibe. Wednesdays are 'endless tapas' for $49, so be sure to stop in!

Stumbled upon this little gem. We had no idea what we wanted to eat.....the tasting platter was amazing. We will definitely be back Thanks
Michael Thomas
Great bar, with an exciting and unique range of cocktails.

I love coming here for diner and live music. They have amazing food and some unique drink mixes. They change their menu seasonally. My favorite cocktail to this day is the nutella, I hope they bring it back. The staff is always so friendly and work really well in such a busy environment. In saying that, it can take a while to get a drink at the bar (but its sometimes worth the wait). If you are having a sit down meal you can order them through your waitress.

Love the decor, ambience, music here. Great place to chill out after dinner. I recommend going on weekday nights as it is less crowded and you get to pick your favourite couch and spot. The elderflower and lychee breeze was very refreshing and the champagne and strawberry martini was perfect as a dessert kind of drink. If you want something that looks fancy and social media worthy, get the laneway volcano punch!

I always thought the Laneway Lounge would be my kind of bar and I was right. A live band was playing old school RnB classics and there was a great atmosphere. Here, we had my favourite cocktail of the evening, though it was a tough call! This cocktail tastes like strawberries and cream with ketel one vodka, fresh pressed strawberries, creme de fraise, and a champagne emulsion. SO LUSH!

Perfect upscale place for drinks. Venue is styled with mismatching vintage armchairs, lounges and tables, great atmosphere. The only reason you need to come here: the COCKTAILS. They are amazing, and there is an extensive selection of gin.
Andrea Karen
Really nice place, great whiskey and gin selection, good wine and beer selection too. Amazing R&B music on Fridays and Saturdays. Live Band in the Live Music Room and DJ in the Lounge Area (perfect combo) :))

Love this place. Classy, elegant and upmarket.<br/>Their cocktails are just delicious (no wonder they won the best cocktail bar in Perth 4 year straight)!!! Their food as well is to die for. Live music and DJ combo is fantastic. A venue like no other!!!
Thomas George
Awesome venue to relax and wind down after a hard day. The staff are amazing and an awesome venue for private functions. Amazing food, music and cocktails what more can you ask for?

Absolutely love the cocktails and food at the laneway lounge 😋. A venue like no other with excellent customer service. My definite weekend spot.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Vnmaudio
The classiest venue in Perth. Amazing food, drinks and entertainment. My go to venue any day of the week. Their cocktails are a HIGHLIGHT! Keep up the good work guys.

A lovely cosy place to have a well made cocktail. The drinks are always on point except for the maple bacon one, the bacon was cold and had a film of dried up grease on it. In saying that, its the one and only cocktail I don't like. We've pretty much ordered everything on the menu and they are scrumptious. Table service is a big plus and the comfy armchairs are great! Ordered nibbles a few times and they were decent

Why a score of 1? Where do I even start... 30 minutes to get seated in a half full restaurant, menus taken away for another table before ordering while being read, being given a dish we didnt order and multiple drinks belonging to someone else, waiters incorrectly identifing dishes, being asked to pay for the meal while we were eating it... twice... and then being unable to understand what each of us was paying for, plates and cutlery being cleared while still being used and then being given someone elses dirty fork and knife when asked for it back, and then trying to clear our charcuterie board while still full of food. To top it all off they even tried to give us someone else's bar tab card, which was absolutely appalling to think someone could purchase drinks on a total strangers card. With no apologies given for terrible service, a rating of 1 is generous.

Two words: arancini balls. They're enough to get me there over and over again. ❤️ Other options are slightly hit and miss but it's a nice venue for an after work drink with extensive drinks list. Buzzing on weekends and great for small groups! I'll be back ...

So admittedly, we only indulged on a few of the "small bites"..... but like all things, good things come in small packages. Adding to the food the beverage list is very good; comprehensive without being overwhelming. The live music was fantastic and the sound level was perfectly balanced throughout the establishment. The service is prompt and friendly. For a great night out, give The Laneway a go....

Love, love, love this place. Great atmosphere, awesome cocktail list, ĺlive music and friendly staff. Great on a weekday for a chilled out drink or a weekend to get the night started. This is definitely one of Perth's best places

Pictured: honey roasted pumpkin,  grilled courgette , semi dried tomato and Persian feta tart,  basil pesto. So for someone who is supposed to be on a budget and limit the amount of times I eat out and how much I spend, I have not been doing a very good job, particularly this month or shall I say this past week. Not only did I eat out with my family and friend (see previous posts) but I also had a social club event on Friday to attend. The social club event was organised through my work and was a 3 course meal with wine pairing. It would have costed $90 for plus ones to attend with the wine pairing or $60 for just the 3 course meal. I was really looking forward to this event and had not been to The Laneway Lounge before. It’s tucked away in an alley way or ‘laneway’ in the city. Inside, it was very fancy – with mismatched chairs and had a very vintage look to the place and chilled atmosphere. The girls and I planned to have a ‘girls night out’ and we were quite impressed. The cocktail menu is extensive with interesting choices however price wise they were a little bit more on the expensive side. We were seated in the private function room area with live music.
Mmm
Why would you serve a beer when you are going to kick people out one minute later??... The bouncer needs to learn to read the time <br/>

Lovely place to go for dinner with friends or casual drinks. We went on a Wednesday night when it was relatively quiet (compared to the packed weekends). The staff were absolutely lovely, the live music was great, and the unique range of cocktails was a highlight. We also had a very lovely dessert that looked beautiful and tasted great! Compliments to the chef! Only downfall is that it is quite pricey. Definitely worth it though!

I can't help but have a soft spot for The Laneway Lounge, the Edison light bulbs, romantic decor and jazz music completely suckered me in before I'd even seen the food or cocktail menu.<br/><br/>The food menu has all the good things; fried, cheesy, meaty, but less exceptional than the drinks list. The kitchen is open late too (hallelujah right Perth?).<br/><br/>Full review at <br/>https://dessertstomachperth.wordpress.com/2016/06/26/the-laneway-lounge/

Went on a tuesday night for a friends bday! Was really impressed with the decor and style of the place! Drinks were good! My partner really liked the eagle bay beer! We got the pork doughnuts and lamb ribs! Both very delicious! Especially the doughnuts! Price is a big high! But its the city so u have to expect it i suppose! And id def say id go again foe a special occasion!

Was recently here for a friends birthday, a good place to start our night. We were seated in the back dining area which was nice, but the live music was a little too loud and this made dinner conversation a bit difficult. We shared the lounging boards which were good (was a fan of the truffle arancini), but nothing amazing. Cocktails however were excellent, strong flavours and very tasty- would recommend the lemon meringue.
Hannah
Awesome cocktails and vibe! Delicious tapas(pork belly donuts-oh my goodness!!!) Only let down was being seated on the side of the bar where there was no one else and hard to get a waiters attention. Loads of tables left around the live music which we would preferred. But thankfully the lemon...
Cake Is My Weakness
Nice vibe, OK service, awesome cocktails, decent food and a funky interior. This is a great place to start the night. Try the lemon meringue and the maple bacon Manhattan cocktails!

It is an alright place if you're rich and want to try food that taste very different. I had the lounge board and I wasn't savory at all. Everything was smoky and sweet which didn't hit the spot for me but if you're into that then go for it. Portions are very very small and it's quite loud, the environment definitely feels rushed so it's quite hard to actually relax. I think it is more of a place to taste and leave. Some of the staff are quite friendly but for the price you pay it's they aren't really that inviting (feels like they are expecting a tip) overall this place is ok if you're not very hungry but just want to try something different.

The food is amazing ! Got the chorizo and baguette with truffle butter, prawn popcorn, ribs and highly recommend ! The strawberry and champagne martini is to die for! One of my favourite places in perth :)
Foodrinkperth
Great concept bar, extensive cocktail menu and wonderful atmosphere! Another great small bar of Perth. Live music playing but doesn't take away from the intimate atmosphere. Can recommend.
Karla & George
Really had an enjoyable date night!! Booked a table at 7.00pm which by then was already quite busy. The waiter sat us down right in front of the stage where a live act was about to start. Ordered some share plates including the chorizo, dumplings and the aranchini balls. They were all delicious particularly the chorizo which was packed full of flavour! The arancini balls were also great. Overall the share plates were able to fill us up when paired with some drinks. The atmosphere was great and buzzing. The live singer/guitarist was amazing! Only downsides would probably be the level of noise coming from the bar and the lighting as it was too dim in some parts of the restaurant. Had to communicate with the hubby through raised voices. Do not come here if you are looking for a romantic and chilled date night!
Dpizzy
Nice atmosphere good place to chill out and have a few cocktails with friends. Food is very average and drinks and food are a little pricey.
V
It's late, you're hungry, this will do but you wouldn't go specially for the food. Arancini balls are ok if a little bland but my arancini-lovin companion was happy with them, pork belly donuts (bite-size) were good but hell for your 'diet'.

One way to describe the feeling for this venue: Ripped Off<br/><br/>Booked a group (80 people) at $90 a head (3 hrs package deal)<br/>No main contact person during the night.Quality of most of the food was poor.  Deep-fried asparagus?  Dry as bones duck sliders on cheap nasty Macdonalds bread?  Grossly overcooked pork...mince?  The truffle arancini and oysters wrapped in salmon were serviceable<br/>Bouncer/door guard was more interested in depriving people at our event of drinks, rather than stopping nonmembers entry.<br/>The waitresses (of which our group was severely understaffed, 2 for 80 people) were belligerent and rude, and started talking in non-English when they didn't want to serve you<br/>Clear breaches of RSA licencing, including poor stock of non-alcoholic beverages (it was advertised there would be juices and soft drink -  this was treated as yet another inconvenience by the staff.<br/><br/>Positive notes: the pre-night contact for the event (Andre) was helpful and accommodating, to the point it is embarrassing how bad quality the waitresses for the event were. <br/><br/>So, hold your group's event at Laneway if you want to be ripped-off, underfed, and treated like dirt.

Fantastic vibe with great food to match, simple tapas with a slight twist and take on some. Overall an enjoyable experience as a whole. That's something that some bars lack in, i will be returning.

MOST INEXPERIENCE BAR MANAGER. Which tells me the bar it self does not give two shits about its customer service. With the bar manager coming out and accusing my partner of swearing at her bar staff is absolute ludicrous. As a bar Manager she has cameras to look. At no time did my partner swear at her staff!. She came out already accusing and making assumptions of the situation which shows she is inexperienced at running a bar, in a society where customer service is so important. Accusing my partner of actions that never happened in front of everyone, is defaming his name, which we had several witnesses that saw what he did. Your bar staff are inexperienced and will always be inexperienced if they cannot handle this situation. It's embarrassing to actually write a post about the in futile situation you put us in. I would normally leave this and not give a crap. Your bar manager to come out and accuse my partner for a situation she didn't even bother investigating. I hope from this post people understand how your bar looks like before they even walk in. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH A DIME.
Serena M
Fantastic vibe, with mismatched chairs and couches making a funky intimate setting. Absolutely amazing drinks list - cocktails and a huge range of crafted gin and tonics.

Saturday night out at Laneway Lounge, shared the entree platter with 2 others. Good value and tasty food, although avoid if you are trying to reduce fried food intake! Decided next time we would order favourite bites instead as we left quite a lot uneaten. Nice cocktails, nice vibe, good service.

Went here for dinner tonight. Great funky atmosphere... Lighting is great, live Jazz band was excellent, the service was brilliant, and the food was excellent for taste. I took half a point off because the desserts are far too small. For $18.00... I personally wouldn't bother again. They looked fantastic, tasted great except they are just way too small. I took another half point off because after we had such a small dessert we thought we would have a coffee. "Sorry we don't do coffee's" hmmm, great atmosphere, great service, great lighting, great food... Nothing on the plate for dessert, and no coffees. I gave this place a 4, I just don't think I'll be back. If someone reports decent desserts in the future I could be persuaded. I really did like the jazz band atmosphere.
Lorraine Michelle
Love this place. Laid back but still keeps the touch of royalty. Plus the food is yuuuuum! The only downside maybe is the quantity although quality is goood. Keep it coming. :)

Visited for Saturday dinner. I really like the setting and live music. I like the creative food which makes me want to go back. The down side was $38 for a meat plate which was very small but just avoid this and you will enjoy.

This place is tucked away at a laneway, fitting to its name perfectly. Dimly light for pub ambience. They do have a live band playing as well.<br/><br/>Nicely decorated. Unique coffee<br/>Tables.<br/><br/>The prices are a little above average. But they got a cool collection of cocktails. Tried one that is served in a tea pot and tea cups. Great option to share. I had brightened up ten pictures so that readers can see clearer. They served tapas food. Chicken Popcorns are nice.<br/><br/>Good alternative for a new place to check out in Perth.

Nice place to hang.. the bubblegum cocktail was really nice and unique :) worth a try! Tried their chocolate parfait desserts, apart from that beautiful green tea ice cream, everything else was just okay :( their lamb dish was really good and falls off the bone.. Really tasty :)

So it would appear that The Laneway Lounge has come along and answered all of my jazz club prayers in one fell swoop. Everything from the décor to the music and the incredible food and drinks just screams pure class and I’m honestly rather stuck when trying to fault it in any way. I suppose my main problem with it is that I’m now going to find it very difficult going anywhere else when I head in to town for a night out. Oh, what a terrible fate!
LittleGirlBigFood
Yum yum yum. Great drinks and great cocktails! We enjoyed nibbles a cocktails on a cold Friday evening. There is no longer the spicy watermelon margarita which made me sad.

A diamond in the rough.. Friday night 6.3.15 I was socialising at The Laneway Lounge drinking water and with no intention of eating.<br/><br/>However, I was approached by a most polite staff member (quite a tall man) who prompted me to look at the Laneway's menu and after listening to my wants –something not too heavy with protein and salad- guided me to the "Something Small" section of the menu.<br/>I chose the Sticky pork belly with chorizo, hen's egg, spinach and sweet smoked paprika for $18. It arrived in good time on a board which complemented the wooden tall table I was standing at with friends. <br/>I did sit down on the high stools to eat. Luckily I did as I was nearly swooning at the taste experience. The pork was smoky and tender and complemented by egg just right, chorizo not too strong, beautifully fresh salad and a dressing that was delicately tart, sweet and flavoursome marrying everything together effortlessly.<br/><br/>Afterwards, I sent my compliments back to the chef via the same staff member who introduced me to this delight. Later in the evening, when visiting the ladies' room, I passed the kitchen (unlike the food, it was very basic and stark) and couldn't help going in to directly compliment the chef and assistants. <br/><br/>The chef deserves the highest commendation.

More dollars than sense. Great looking venue but they just haven't pulled it off. We went in for a drink and possibly food but gave up. We were taken to our seats, given menus and after 10 minutes of sitting there, we assumed we order at the bar. On our way up we were told it was indeed table service. Considering the staff outnumbered patrons 3 to 1, I would have expected greater service. Our drinks were empty but no one asked if we wanted another so we had to go to the bar and ask for the bill. This place is a great example of Perth service that has become renown throughout Australia.
Yum Yum
Great atmosphere and big cocktail list. Food wise though I would not recommend this place. Pork belly was neither crunchy on the top nor moist in the middle.
Jules
Service was great, but food was awful. First time back, and 6 months ago I remember the food fondly. Really disappointed.
Penny
A very cool little bar, but without pretentious staff. Beautiful decor. Very decent menu and quite an extensive drinks list. Have visited here twice, both times about 5pm Sunday, it's very classy, but still has a friendly feel.

The cocktails were beautiful- top quality. However I was disappointed with the tiny portion sizes. Ordering under the 'something bigger' menu I expected a main size meal but it was more an entree size meal (rabbit and mushrooms). I told the waitress who said she would inform the chef but there was no response. I left hungry.

Gorgeous little entry to the most magical bar.... Loved the vibe and live music and the staff were extremely accomodating (even though we couldn't get a table for dinner). Will definitely book in for dinner soon!

3/4 bulbs in the bathroom were out. Had to ask a second waitstaff for the bill after the first told me 'she was busy'. Waited >30 mins to settle the bill.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Popped in with a friend for a quick bite on a Friday night before some shopping.<br/>They squeezed us in - I think we got the last table available towards the back of the bar.<br/>Extensive cocktail list. I had the lipstick martini which was cute.<br/>We shared popcorn chicken & duck sliders which were amazing. Also ordered doughnut pork belly which we didn't really enjoy.<br/>Had a live band playing very close to us which made it hard to chat - would have been better closer to the entrance but we were only really there for an hour.<br/>Will definately come back
Juliet
Fantastic. Awesome cocktails and food with a wonderful ambiance. Love the decor. Great for after work drinks or a dinner with friends. Make sure you book. Good live music. Definitely worth a visit. Try the double cooked pork belly and the popcorn prawns.

Lovely venue, customer service?. I really like the laneway lounge, they have nice jazz and great cocktails (they're expensive but I like to think they subsidise entry with their prices).<br/><br/>We visited last night to see a particular jazz band and ordered cocktails. One of us was driving and ordered a glass of rosé. It was the last glass in the bottle and it had gone bad. When my friend mentioned this to the waitress the waitress responded with "if it's fine you still have to pay for it" - before she'd even tried it. She then poured herself a taste... And then asked her colleague over to have a taste... And then they both went to the front bar I presume to consult somebody else and give them a taste. <br/><br/>She then came back with "it's fine, you'll have to drink it" and refused to do anything about it. It wasn't fine, several of us had tried it by that stage and we unanimously agreed that it had turned. Either that or the rosé being served by the Laneway Lounge was vinegar. Needless to say my friend was left offended and the glass was left untouched. Poor form Laneway Lounge, that's not customer service.
Megan Bothamley
Came here for a night of jazz with friends, ordered the Rose. It arrived and did not taste right at all! Everyone had a sip and everyone agreed. However when I asked for a replacement the staff tried it and pulled faces, but I was denied a replacement. Apparently it was how it was meant to taste!? Very bad customer service, leaving very unhappy.

The laneway lounge is exactly what you might expect- in a lane. The painted carpet leading to the entrance is a glimpse of the fun to follow. <br/>We arrived at 18:00 to secure enough seating for the seven if us, as they didn't take bookings. After grabbing some delightfully styled pews we soaked up the upmarket grand ol south styled decor and fired off a cocktail order. <br/><br/>The menu is expansive and caters for all tastes, with the likes of Maple bacon Mahattans, Glenmorangie scotch, punch and a tropical wonder served in a tiki mug. We certainly tried all that was liquid on this fine evening in the quest to determine the best liquor, with my favorite being the Manhattan. The deft hand at work here shows maturity and restraint, with all cocktails being well received.<br/><br/>Like the drinks menu the food isn't to sheed away from either, with all the small bites you could ask for. God dang it those polenta chips and dipping sauce are crunchy on the outer with a velvety smooth inner, and were ordered a few times! The one item that didn't quite hit the mark was the donut pork belly. The sweetness from the maple syrup overpowered the pork, and really required some saltiness to balance the dish.<br/><br/>The decor even gets it's own little mention here. The styling is right on cue, with even the finite detail attended too. The studded high backs with stag print are a master stroke, with magic continuing in the bathroom. The trough like basin compliments the theme found throughout. Oh, and where do I buy those light bulbs!!<br/><br/>The table service was attentive and efficient. The crew that looked after us were right on the money, without a worry in the world. A scantly clad bunch took the booth next to us which drew away some of the service, but the service manager certainly went put of his way to even it out :)<br/><br/>Overall a stunning 6 hours was spent in the Laneway, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Make sure you get in very early if you want a seat though, and prepare yourself for a stunning night.<br/><br/>Food 8/10 service 9/10 decor 10/10<br/>Drinks 9.5/10

Pretensious. If you are showy, this is your place.. I have been there twice. The first time on a Sunday night to see a great jazz singer, Juliana Areias. The main area was nearly empty, I remember noticing the ostentatious decoration but I stayed at jazz bar at the back, which is just fine. Despite the bad arrangement of the tables which is not set up towards the stage (they should learn with Ellington Jazz club) and the difficulty to make orders, everything else was fine. The second time I went it was a Saturday night for a friend's birthday celebration. This time I stayed at the main room in the reserved area. Summary of the experience: <br/>- The place is extremely noisy, it is really hard to chat. <br/>- The cocktails list is impressive but very pricey, everything over $20. All the cocktails are full of tricks: "smoke", cream on top, bizarre glasses. If you order cocktails to take pictures and show off on facebook, you are going to be spoiled for choice.<br/>- You are not allowed to stand-up on the reserved area. Even if you are not disturbing absolutely anyone. You have to squeeze in and share seats, pretend you can listen to your friends and have a sore butt.<br/>- I ordered a dessert: a chocolate fondant with hazelnut icecream. It never came. I reordered it. The cake was disgusting, it tasted like egg. The icecream was delicious but it was only a quarter of a scoop, the most expensive quarter of a scoop icecream in my life: $18.<br/>- The waiters come every 3 minutes to check if we want a drink or to bring a drink that we haven't ordered. Annoying.<br/>- The music: no good, no fun (they should learn with Durty Nelly's, the irish pub)<br/>- The place was full of flashy people.<br/>If you have low self-esteem and need to show off go to this place, you are going to spend a lot of money and have no fun. The people there didn't seem to care.
Jucamy946
Get ready to wait and yell. Waited 45 minutes for a drink last night that never came. Had to re-order my drink. <br/><br/>They kept bringing drinks to our table that were not for us. <br/><br/>The food was cold when it arrived. <br/><br/>Extremely loud, the music in the other room was overpowering. <br/><br/>Great on a quiet night, otherwise be ready to wait and yell.
Koala Koala
Jazz. Enjoyed drinks and the jazz ambience. Downside is that it's quite noisy and so small.
Mrs Foodie
Sorry nothing positive to say.<br/><br/>Place is loud<br/>Orders are mixed up because understaffed on weekends<br/>Very expensive for what you get <br/>Staff are rude.<br/><br/>Lots of other good places to go in the city.

This place rocks!!!. Went there to watch a jazz band play on a Wednesday night. <br/><br/>The food was great, we had the truffle toasties and pizza bites to start followed by the creamy gnocchi with mushroom and asparagus. <br/><br/>Drinks, service, and band were also top notch.
Nicole Clayton
Really great place with good atmosphere and quick food service for a busy Friday night. Food was amazing and the pork belly donuts are to die for. Would definitly go back again.
Food Me Dude
Give it a miss.. Very, very ordinary last Friday night in this place. Ridiculously overpriced drinks, rude staff members, a barman who managed to dump a full cocktail shaker over the front of the bar and soaked a jacket only bought that day - no offer to pay for a dry clean. Never again.
Kelly
Amazing. Just went in for a quick beer before a dinner reservation the other night. Our waiter was lovely and helpful and very professional. A rare occurrence in Perth unfortunately. This fact alone, we will be back! Thanks Laneway.
Neensy13
Way Overpriced!!. No complaints about the decor or service but very disappointing to discover the same bottle of wine I paid $68 for was only $19.95 in a very reputable boutique wine shop. Lucky there are lots of bars to choose from in the CBD. Serious overpricing!

Horrible service and food was disgusting. It's a shame because the place has a great feel and atmosphere but the staff let it down.. Very disappointed!

Dave Chappelle After party. Went to this bar no one has heard of before, after the Dave Chapelle show got there there was no line and was ignored after friends got in found staff was not interested in us getting in very disappointing for a first imprecation sory but just another small back water bar that is apparently full not spending my money here will go to one of Perths other bars sory mate lift ya game

Late night event. When to this bar after a comedy show found the Manager blew of many polite customers just wanting to come in with other friends and spend money very disappointing for a bar which isn't that well known , unfortunately its just very typical of a small time Perth bar not ever going here again !
PerthAussieGuy
At last I had my chance to visit this venue. It was a Friday night and I almost left it too late to get a seat without booking (when we left there was a queue !). Fortunately the lovely staff found a good spot :) . I was only there for a quick bite and a drink and to get a feel for the place. The (beef) parmigiana burger was more than I could manage and the fatty chips were...well...fat !<br/>Great place to drink, nibble and shout at your friends (a little noisy for regular talk - but, hey, what do you expect from a popular bar?).<br/>When I am not driving I would love to sample some of the awesome cocktails I kept seeing being brought out to the tables (I swear one was in a teapot!!)
Chris Brien
Amazing ambience and atmosphere during the live dining lounge. The cocktails were lovely and the fondant was delicious.

Love this place! Went for the first time on Saturday night. Great entertainment, fab service, wide selection of drinks & the food is delicious. Will definietly be going back.

EARL GREY & MANDARIN SOUR. The Earl Grey and Mandarin Sour - amazing cocktail. Have never had anything like it before, try it!!!

Dining room or nightclub?!. We came here on the 20th December hoping to have some great food and listen to jazz. We have been once before and we loved it so we were hoping for the same experience! My oh my this place has gone downhill! We booked a table in the dining room. We got there and the "jazz" that was playing was more r'n'b but that didn't bother us. What did bother us was when we were eating our dinner, the bouncer at the door to the dining room was letting a lot of drunk people in. People started dancing and bumping us while we were trying to eat. The waiter commented 'Are you enjoying the nightclub?!'.. Over the course of 1 hour everyone got drunker and drunker, tables were being knocked over, champagne was spilt in my hair and on my trousers, people screaming and falling into us. This is not appropriate for when you are eating a meal. We had to leave before the act ended as we just couldn't take the atmosphere anymore. I complained to the waiter as we paid our bill and asked if its now always like this.. He shrugged and said 'I guess so'. Until this place goes back to being a DINING ROOM we will not be back. Such a shame!
Renee
Felt very mistreated. Security are over the top. Constantly being told what u can and can't do. Over priced drinks. Will never go again. Can't even see or hear the band.

I arrived very hungry on Friday evening with some work colleagues. I asked a waitress if she could tell me what the gluten free menu options were, she couldn't but said she would find out. Half an hour later I flagged down the same waitress who said she couldn't find anyone that knew but said that the chips were gluten free. I ordered and paid for 2 portions ($18!), so I could share with the group, and then waited and waited and waited. One portion finally turned up so I highlighted to the waiter that I had ordered two, I didn't see him again. Over next 20 minutes asked various staff members the whereabouts of my second portion of chips, none of them ever returned to advise me or bring my chips. Finally flagged down a manager looking guy who told me the kitchen was now closed and I wouldn't be getting any chips. At this point I had politely shared the first portion with the group and was still very hungry. I was then told that they couldn't refund any money but I could have a drink instead! Terrible service, words can't really describe how bad the staff are. I will not be setting foot in there again.

We came here for first time for a pre dinner cocktail and loved what we saw. Cocktails were great and bar staff engaging and helpful. Love the live music. We walked in and heard a man on the piano singing it had to be you. Love this song! Finally a place in perth where you can dine with this sort of live music. Only thing missing is s dance floor for a slow dance in between courses. Spewing we had dinner plans elsewhere. But we will be back and settle in for the night

Went last night, absolutely gorgeous bar. The two cocktails I had were a little slow to come out, but they we're the nicest cocktails I've had in ages. Sat in the dining area for a meal, service was excellent ,music was great. Main meals just ok. Would highly recommend this place for drinks and nibbles, will be going back.

Simply superb. Rocked up on Friday evening without a booking and after a short wait we were let in. We mentioned it was a special occasion and the staff really looked after us. A table near the stage was found for us and the musicians were great. Add the beautiful food, cocktails and attentive service and a superb night was had.<br/>Will absolutely be back with friends for another night out.

Good music, terrible service!. Went to Laneway on a Thursday night for a celebration dinner with a friend. We were seated in the dining room with the live music. The young band were very good and we enjoyed their selection of music.<br/><br/>We started with a cocktail each. I had the volcano punch, which looked amazing and tasted nice, but I was almost scared to drink given it was smoking! Unfortunately the waiter zipped off with my glass when it was nowhere near empty, and that was about as enthusiastic as the service got that evening.<br/><br/>After finally managing to flag someone down to order food, we ordered a few of the 'love bites' and smaller plates to share. The bread with garlic butter was surprisingly delicious, and the sliders were good but very lacking in meat.<br/><br/>The only waiter serving the room spent the night actively ignoring us. After eventually trying literally waving him over, we managed to order some more drinks and dessert off one of the waitresses who had just delivered food to another table.<br/><br/>On the bright side, dessert was amazing. We shared the custard tart which was very rich and creamy. <br/><br/>All in all, I would probably go back, because it is a pretty cool place. Might stick to cocktails though; the food was not worth the lengthy wait!

Sounds Good. Hope to drop in very soon, the range of Cocktails looks amazing and obviously a lot of thought has gone into the place "Cocktail's & Laughter indeed!"

100 people leave, 3 go in. This place blows

Very loud atmosphere. Putting too much emphasis on looks and not on both atmosphere and service.

Fantastic. What a cool find. None of the pretense of the Ellington, which is such a nice blessing. Cool music and amazing staff. It is a pricey place, but it's perfect if you're wanting to indulge because they make you feel very special. I love the lounge area, and the Earl Grey cocktail is just sublime. Like the food, but the range is small. This is a great place for a few drinks, a date night or a birthday hang out. Love it!

Yes.. No.. Maybe?. I don't think I will be returning... Maybe in 6 or so months when they have 'settled' into their location. <br/>Recently went here with a group of 8-10 people and found the service was not at all up to scratch. Upon entering, I was told to order for our table at the bar, I was then told that we had table service... we placed our first order and for the rest of the evening we had to find our waitress to order more. <br/>Food was lovely and came out very promptly. Drinks were different and fun. We ordered a mocktail and were charged full price (as if it were a cocktail), we also ordered a drink and asked for minimum alcohol - they could have told us the drink we had ordered was basically pure alcohol... oops!<br/>Looking forward to going back once the staff are more accustomed to venue and DEFINITELY looking forward to going back to try out the jazz lounge.

Loved it, beautiful interior. We ordered dessert. Omg the custard tart was sensational - it was deconstructed which I wasn't expecting but the best dessert I've ever had. Must try it.

Lounging in the laneway. A hidden gem tucked in a laneway off Murray Street opposite Shaftos Lane, The Laneway Lounge offers classic Jazz era Cocktails complimented with other creations by Grant Collins (Ku De Ta & W Hotel Bali, W Seoul, The White Hart & Zeta Bar in Sydney). All this accompanied with vocal jazz and a decor to match.<br/><br/>The back bar will also feature one of the largest Gin and Bourbon selections in Australia in the near future. Celebrity chef Danny Russo has designed the menu on offer. Having tried some of those offerings I would have to say maybe a few things have yet to be ironed out. The overall feel and ambiance is quite classy though.<br/><br/>The crispy chicken wings whilst crispy were pretty dry. Having said that the Spiced Lamb Ribs were quite delightful. Service was exceptional as with most of Perth's newest offerings on the bar scene. It seems to be table service which is most welcome. The cocktails are all presented beautifully but don't seemed to always hit the heights imagined. With so much on offer though I don't think it will be hard to find a favourite or two.<br/><br/>This place already seems to be a hit with the after work crowd. If you haven't been here pop in for a drink or even reserve a table for a dining experience with some friends!

Terrible Service, Over Cooked Steak. Service was awful. Considering how egger the new manager seems. We were left at the door, for quite some time, before anyone had a clue. Plus we had a booking. They mixed our tables up right off the bat and we had to wait for another. Waiting waiting...Finally sat us. <br/><br/>Waiting waiting...Oh yes we would like to have something to drink. 2 glasses of wine took over 20min (no joke) to get to our table. It the 20 min mark I decided to grab the hostess, as she was the only employee available at the time, and ask her what was taking so long. <br/><br/>Server finally came back and said there was an error with the machines, and took our drink orders again. He was not a pleasant fella at all. Not one smile all night, not a thank you. <br/><br/>Ordered their $39.00 steak, asked for it med rare. Over cooked. Such a shame to do that to a beautiful cut of meat. <br/><br/><br/>On a side note...<br/>LADIES...The toilets do not have bench tops for our bags and purses. so you will have to put them on the ground while powdering your noses.

Great place to head to for drinks and bites. Drinks menu, extensive and features a lineup of interesting mixes and presentation is top class. Live music gets pretty loud and but acts are good. I wouldn't recommend dinner here- noisy/ pricey/busy.

Terrible service. Boring food. Tacky decor. Don't bother.. We were really looking forward to a night out for dinner and drinks at the Laneway Lounge. But our excitement quickly turned to disappointment when upon requesting a change of seating from the lounge area to a table or bench to eat dinner at (of which there were plenty vacant on a Thursday night), the manager rolled his eyes at us (how dare we ask to move!), and told us 'maybe later'. Our waitress suggested that while we wait for a table to eat dinner at, we order some 'bites', so we ordered the arancini and the popcorn prawns. Once we received these average deep fried "tastes like KFC" bites, all service to our table ceased. We weren't served or even spoken to again for the next 2 hours. In a state of complete disbelief, we finished a rather nice bottle of Spanish red, and left hungry and bored. Upon paying our bill, our waitress spoke to us for the second time commenting "too bad we couldn't get you a table". <br/><br/>As well as terrible service and average food, the venue lacks aesthetic and atmosphere. Other than the lighting feature, the rest of the decor is cheap and tacky, especially the plasma screen tv and uncomfortable 'made in China' armchairs in the lounge area. Will be telling everyone I know to avoid the Laneway Lounge.

Great atmosphere and lovely drinks! Just what perth beeds, live chilled music. Bites were delicious but main meals were awful and over priced. Pork belly was unbelieveably dry and lamb was all fat and no substance. I think this has potential, however needs a few months to figure everything out.

Bad services!!! Foods wasn't that great. Over price!!! Won't recommend to my friends

The service was not just slow, but rude as well. I would suggest staff training on friendly customer service and efficiency. I would love to be able to comment on the cocktails but we left after waiting 25 to get served and watching as others who had just rocked up to the bar got served before us.

Three girlfriends and I headed here on Thursday night after dinner at Jamie's. Such a good find! Awesome little atmosphere, amazing decor, loved the little booths (Bali style) and great service. Wine wasn't badly priced (Its about time some people just accepted Perth is expensive!) and the live music was a really lovely addition. Will return
Zoo
Love the food and live music!<br/>It is better to go any other day than Friday I though as the wait is too long.
Cass
25 minutes wait to enter the bar? 25 minutes wait for a drink? Investigated upon arrival about bookings and numbers? Definitely not my ideal Friday night out...
Mary Mac
Booked in advance, arrived on time, directed to the live music dining area, then pointedly ignored. 10minutes in the doorway, a brief word after chasing down the head waiter to which we got just a minute, and off to somewhere with excellent service, Tiger lil's. No<br/> idea on the food, not sure they deign to actually serve you@Laneway Lounge,!

Love the interior. The drinks are divine. I literally want to try everything on the menu. Favorite so far is the Earl Grey drink.
Elf
Expensive, over priced wine and food. So called wine expert has no idea about wine other than what margin he can make. Avoid like the Black Plague.
Huge Perthonality
Soooooo good. I went here the other night with a few friends for a drink and a snack and we were blown away. the decor, the set up, the entertainment, the service and THE FOOD! We ordered literally everything on the tapas bar and it was all sensational, the BEST arancini balls ive ever tasted. Not a very extensive wine list but we still managed to find a very nice bottle which we sipped on whilst listening to the pianist bust out Elton John classics, we were then escorted to one of the little booths where we ordered the cheese platter whch was absolutely delicious. The only down side is that it closes at midnight which is ridiculous for a mid city bar on a Saturday night but hey that is Perth for you..

Special Spot. Nice hang out place. Food and drinks were fast. Standard price. Presentation on drinks is very thoughtful, food quality was good. Everything i ordered was nice. will love to come back for another visit.<br/><br/>Recommend: <br/>-Bubble Gum Sour <br/>-Earl Grey & Mandarin Sour<br/>-Lipstick Martini<br/>-Arancini w truffle & parmesan

Promising!. Great little place, we dined at the stage area with soothing voice of the pianist complementing his own music. Service was efficient ; it was quiet tonight. <br/><br/>Food and drinks are good too, yes pricey but cocktails are the same price elsewhere. We had lamb ribs, arancini, fat chips, chorizo -all which were nice but pork belly dish was a bit dry though all above average. <br/><br/>Ambience is ok. Lights are a bit dim for dining. <br/><br/>Still , a promising place. Great addition to the city!

Excellent new bar. I had the pleasure of visiting this new bar for a couple of drinks and tapas with my wife on the 27/07/2013. The service was fantastic albeit it was quiet when we arrived. The food quality of the tapas was excellent. The sizes and the number of pieces for each of the meals perfectly reflected tapas servings. I definitely recommend the arancini balls with truffle and Parmesan. The cocktails were also unique and flavorsome. One thing that I was pleased to hear is their kitchen is open until around 11:30 which suits me for the late night dinner after work. Will definitely be coming back.
