Review Hadiqa - Perth

Fantastic dinner on a Friday night. Loved the ambiance and staff were super friendly and very attentive and gave good recommendations and advice on the menu. Food came out fairly fast which was great as we were hungry. Another bonus was our 2 larger and 2 smaller dishes all came out together so there was no awkward oh we have meat but no fries or vice versa. We'd definitely recommend and go back

This is my second time here, first time, amazing and a great experience, unfortunately second time like other reviews let down by wait staff. The online booking system was a breeze and worked a treat, a nice touch from the staff was I asked to be seated at the "chef's table" on the online booking. The chefs table is where you can see them cook and prepare the meals, they had a note saying reserved, so they saw the message and took the time. It was a birthday celebration and I was taking my son there who really enjoys cooking, so thought sitting there would be a good experience. The lady that seated us was great, very welcoming...unfortunately we were then waited on for food and drinks by two different male waiters. To be blunt, they were hopeless and ruined our night! We ordered the $65.00dollar per person six course meal, food was awesome, great quality and quantity, unfortunately the drinks guy did not bring us our second drinks (he barley showed up asking us if we wanted more drinks) and the food wait guy forgot our dessert. We waited 45mins for our dessert from our second last course, I remind him and he still forgot. We then went to leave and he said did we enjoy the meal, I told him he forgot....twice our desert. I don't have a picture of it to show you, as he did not not bring it to us. 5 out of 5 for everything else except for the two male waiters....ruined a special nite out.

What a fantastic place to visit. Went out on a date night with my husband for dinner and drinks. The food was absolutely amazing especially the Moroccan chicken . Tried a few cocktails and they were extra yummy . But what especially stood out for me was the service our waiter was absolutely fantastic very friendly and also provided great recommendations for food and drinks. Can't wait to visit again

Yummy food with lots of flavour and great selection of drinks. I also loved the decor and ambience of the venue. The only downside was the waitress kept approaching our table every 5 minutes (or so it seemed) to ask if we wanted food or drink. This intruded on our enjoyment of the dinner and venue.

Such a great venue! Super friendly staff that have amazing bar skills and a great range of drinks available. The venue itself has somewhere to suit everyone's tastes with inside table seating, alfresco style and rooftop seating. Relaxing décor that will let you forget you are in the city and we have never had a bad meal here. If you get a chance to go to one of their "Cocktails on the Terrace" events you should do it - great value for money and the team do a fantastic job at teaching you some bar skills.

When one has to use your phone light to be able to read the menu not a good start. Lighting poor so when the food came wasn’t easy to get a good look at what we were eating. On the whole the food was enjoyable although chicken tagine portion size was on the small side. Service was quick and friendly

I haven't eaten here but I did stop in for a couple of drinks and the staff were amazing. Drinks were excellent also, but as another reviewer said, the staff (and the beautiful décor) are so friendly and seem like they really love their jobs, it makes you want to come back.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my wife. Lamb Tagine was amazingly well cooked. So tender and delicious. Cauliflower salad was full of flavour and had a good chilli 🌶 zing which we were warned about. Jewelled Rice was good, well cooked and a great accompaniment. Had a special dessert of a “Ladies Finger” which you can see was like a baklava covered in crushed pistachios since it was our birthdays. Super sweet and yummy. Cocktails we had was the Ruby and the Turkish Delight Martini. They both tasted excellent.

The feed me menu was not worth the price we paid. Small portions for each person. I’ve had the feed me menu when they first opened two years ago and it was much larger serving. I was expecting the same but found it has reduced a lot

Food and Cocktails Amazing!<br/>Serves were quite small for the price, a $17 piece of cheese was a bit of a shock! Nonetheless every dish was tasty.<br/>Service needs polishing though.

This meal was AMAZING and if your in Perth is a must try! This is the express lunchbox with all the trimmings! You get a set main, dip, side, bread and something sweet! What a beautiful variety of dishes and flavours!<br/><br/>The venue was lovely (option of restaurant or bar) and the staff were friendly!<br/><br/>Pictured is the Marrakesh Express, inclusions were:<br/><br/>Main: Chicken, Lentil, Fenugreek<br/>Dip: Yoghurt, Pomegranate, Herb<br/>Side: Cauliflower, Tahini, Currants<br/>Bread: Pita (Soft & Crispy)<br/>Sweet: Chocolate Baklava

Food Poisoning - 06/11/19 (Table booked under Anu)<br/><br/>I am writing to let you know that the food we were served (we believe it was the raw salmon) has given all 4 of us terrible food poisoning.<br/><br/>I have friends who have come over from the UK, your restaurant was our first pick to take them too after several great dining experiences. <br/><br/>However, on this occasion the food we were served has caused us all to become extremely ill. Our plans for the last two days have been ruined. Tickets for days out, accomodation etc all lost. <br/><br/>All in all visiting your restaurant has ruined my friends trip, I haven’t seen them for years and they came all the way from the UK at a high cost.<br/><br/>We are still all very ill today. At the very least I request a full refund for the meal. <br/><br/>I hope you take an in-depth look at your kitchen and make some corrective actions so this does not happen to others in the future. <br/><br/>Regards,<br/><br/>John Poole

Horrid service and was charged $8 to have bread accompany the dips I ordered. Flavours of the foods not balanced. Would not recommend.

Absolutely shocking. Table of 6 waited 20 minutes for our bottle of wine. The place was half full it’s a Friday night. We Complained and the waitress said if we’d keep complaining they would cut us off. They’ll be closed within a year. Be warned. Terrible attitude and service. They didn’t even care we were leaving.

Returned to Hadiqa during the week to take advantage of these sunny Spring days – up on the rooftop there, part of the Hibernian Place development, is just the place to enjoy such weather, climbing the stairs to an oasis of greenery – plants galore – in a long, slender space. One end is under roof, the other open aired – although with shutters opening and closing as the weather dictates.

We had the chefs choice Diffa option. Every plate was delicious. They were happy to cater the menu to our dietary requirements. Staff were really helpful and friendly. The ice tea was wonderful. Beautiful decor.

Came here for team dinner. Service is good.<br/>The seats are too high and not comfortable to sit.<br/><br/>The food is ok. For entre, bread with dips. Followed by my spicy prawn dish which is tasty. And a side dish of grilled cauliflower with harissa.<br/><br/>Overall quite tasty.

I went to the bar for a drink with friends. The service was very friendly, informative and accommodating. The bar area itself is beautiful, inviting and botanical meets middle eastern. My cocktail (Turkish delight) was delicious, and my friend enjoyed her espresso martini.

Dined here on Saturday night with a group of twelve people - so had to get the set menu. The good was actually good, unfortunately the serving sizes were absolutely tiny - when we complained to the waitress she acknowledged that it was a known issue for large groups. <br/><br/>We started off with bread and dip - probably two small pieces each. Mains included chicken, lamb, broccoli, cous cous and cauliflower - one bowl of each between twelve people. This meant one small price of lamb and we had to cut the already small pieces of chicken in half. The cauliflower cams put already as one half - which we had to split between twelve. <br/><br/><br/>Absolutely disappointing. We will never be returning and will advise others not to go if you’re hungry.

This place has a really aesthetically pleasing set up. I wasn't thrilled with the seating for this venue, the seats are two low and being ditched on a tiny wall table in a walk way as a new "hip" way of sitting really made me feel like I didn't want to be there. They did move us to a bar table and that was much better, however, at this point I found this food tasty but not really what i expected from this middle eastern food. It was a very western take on it which i thought made me feel a bit confused about the purpose of going to eat this cuisine. The set menu share meal wasn't very nice and i just found the food to be average.

Nice place with good interiors and vibe to hangout over a drink. However, the food was very ordinary - we were left unimpressed with both the chicken kebab (chewy bread) and the lamb shish (not as soft as it should be) we ordered.

When I phoned Hadiqa for a reservation I asked if could bring a 24yo bottle of red wine from my cellar because we had special visitors to Perth, and said I would be happy to pay corkage. The young lady replied that she would have to ask the manager, came back and said that was okay but "We would have to charge you a corkage fee of $20", which I accepted. When I checked the bill at the end of the meal corkage had been charged at $80, ie $20 per person!! I complained to the floor manager who tried to explain that the high per person corkage fee was a condition for such a nice bottle of wine. I argued that I was not disputing their BYO conditions, but that their employee had wrongly advised it as simply $20, and that it was their responsibility for the extra $60, not mine. And it was not like we hadn't contributed towards their alcohol profitability; we also bought a $95 bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne to start with. In fact, including a couple of martinis, the combined alcohol cost was exactly 50% of the total $400 bill! Legally, they've made an error by insisting on charging for advertising misleading information and have refused to admit it. That's not acceptable.

Having heard a lot about Hadiqa, I must admit I expected to be wowed. Yes it was yum, but it wasn’t the big hoo-ha I kept hearing about. Fabulous for sharing with friends and very rich yummy platters. Reasonable price point for the quality. Slightly annoying location and although we were told we would have to leave by 6pm (which was ok), by about 5.40pm the waiters started shuffling us out.
S/T/L/R Night
An oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Perth with interesting good value Middle Eastern food, good coffee and friendly service. Top class.

Went in today for a quick lunch. On arrival the place was lovely and the gentleman who sat us at our table was really nice. I ordered the Marrakesh Express which was presented beautifully but the flavour was average. Everything would have been enhanced with a touch of seasoning, and my lamb was under cooked. All would have been forgiven if it wasn't for the rude waitress who made the experience feel like we were inconveniencing her.

Thursday oysters & bubbles = divine. Such a nice spot in Hibernian place. Staff were a little unfriendly but warned up slightly after we were really really really nice to them

We had lunch with the convention team. Most ordered the Moroccan express lunch box for$25. It had a chicken kebab in lower box. Upper box had the cauliflower salad, lady finger dessert and bread for dips. I shared the chicken fire & beef fire dish. Beef melts in the mouth tagine. It was pleasant & we had the complementary ginger tea. Worth visiting with friends or business associates. <br/>Morrrrrocccannn delicious.

Booked a table for my birthday dinner with two other couples. The chefs menu is absolutely value for money. More food than we could manage! Limited wine list and service was average.

I was very excited when we ordered.<br/>We ordered their “Diffa” which was like a degustation.<br/>We got a bread basket with 3 dips. The egg plant dip was very bad, didnt taste like eggplant at all,the other two were ok.<br/>Then we got halloumi which wasnt good either. The orange stuff on it was so off and didnt mix at all.<br/>We got fried cauliflower next which wasnt good either.<br/>Then we got rice and Moroccan chicken, they were better than the rest but again nothing special.<br/>Even our dessert wasnt exciting, it was just a very hard baklava. <br/>Drinks and service were good.<br/>Probably would not go back anytime soon .

Holy yum! Hubby and I enjoyed a rare date night here on Friday night. We decided to go with the chefs choice and we were not disappointed. Our lovely wait staff Shannon was super helpful and knew the menu well. Very generous serves and very reasonably priced. $160 for 2 cocktails, the chefs special which came with 4 different courses plus we ordered an extra because we just couldn’t go without trying the prawns! <br/>My favourite was a side dish of pickled figs and also the fried haloumi... omg melt in your mouth delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

I love middle eastern food and lunch at Hadiqa was up the standard. The Marrakesh Express was great value and very tasty. Will be back for more!

Consistency is key to me giving great reviews. <br/><br/>Certainly my first visit to Hadiqa was impressive - knowledgeable service, a twist on a traditional food theme and thoughtfully put together setting.<br/><br/>So impressed was I that I took friends for a second visit - only to find inexperienced staff, flavourless bites and a lack of ambience.<br/><br/>Such is the fickle nature of dining in Perth at present. However, I am heading back soon for the “best of three” opportunity, and will update accordingly.

Ordinary, simply ordinary, and a bit over priced, spent $1k for dinner for 7 people and left hungry, ordinary.<br/><br/>Meals lacked interest and service was Perth top dollar bottom service ratio.

Such delicious food with great flavours, yummy cocktails and a cool ambience. Highly recommend if you want somewhere a little more trendy, there is also a bar if you don’t want formal dining

What an awesome experience! We had dinner on a Friday night and the place was buzzing. Our food was delicious, as was our drinks. The highlight of our night was the roasted cauliflower, which was so tasty and perfect to pair with our lamb tagine. We just wished the place was less pretentious, though the location was trendy but music speakers were blaring over us and it was very hard to talk to each other.
Food_Glorious_Food
Arrived with high hopes at Hadiqa being a big fan of middle eastern inspired food and promises of a funky, sophisticated bar setting to eat it in. We were greeted and seated on one of the low narrow wall benches overlooking the courtyard which was ok for myself but a bit awkward for my partner who is quite tall. We ordered the pita bread (the basket it was served in was not lined with anything and felt a bit grimy - not the most hygienic thing), haloumi was next which was served with a a rather odd tasting orange chutney. The lamb kebab was good (and filling), and in comparison the lamb almond fig “fire” was a bit sickly, heavy and sweet. The two worst dishes were the cauliflower (soggy and absolutely drowned in tahini - the flavour was completely off), and the potato garlic feta - a bowl of chips heavily coated with spices and crumbled feta, we actually looked at each other in disbelief when these came out (the flavour combo did NOT work, these were awful). Ordered the chocolate baklava out of curiosity and was left disappointed ending the night on a low. The place itself has a great vibe and ambience, staff were very hard to pin down for service even though there were a lot rushing past. Food just wasn’t on par - would come back for drinks but not for a meal.

Welcome to Hadiqa, a new middle restaurant in the new Westin Hotel in Perrh CBD! I had a great experience dining at Hadiqa, from the moment I enter, I was already amazed by the new, beautiful, artisticly designed restaurant! The restaurant is spacious with plenty sittings (many different type of sittings too from normal chair, high chair, sofas, etc). The staffs are ultra friendly and polite.<br/><br/>We ordered All the kebab haha, yes there were 3 types: eggplant, chicken and lamb and we ordered all 3. Each kebab is cut into 4 so we can share them. My favorite is the Lamb, followed by the eggplant. The lamb kebab is very delicious with juicy meat and perfect blend of herbs. <br/><br/>We also ordered the cauliflower salad which is really good. I am not into vegie, but this is amazing. It taste so different, and the cauliflower is coted coted with herba and sauce making it so good.<br/><br/>Finally we ordered the haloumi which is also good but I found the sauce rather bitter so I end ip eating the haloumi without. Overall I really enjoy eating at Hadiqa and would definitely come back again!

Table for three on a Saturday night. It is loud, particularly with a function happening in an adjacent function area, so not a place for intimate conversations! Food was plentiful and pleasant enough - three dips and pita bread, prawn “Fire”, “potato “salad (chips in a Greek style with feta), lamb kebab wrapped in pita and a chicken dish with lentils. Dessert was 3 types of delicacies - orange almond cake, a white chocolate and chocolate baklava. We did not like the benches with the low table but no other choice was offered for three people - uncomfortable and people too far apart. Nice enough evening but probably wouldn’t come again - sorry.

Have visited this place twice prior, once purely for the bar and another a dinner for two. We didn’t find the food mind blowing but it was ok enough to come back with a group of 7 friends, 2 of whom were considering having their wedding here. <br/><br/>From the moment we arrived we were simply an annoyance. The disgruntled, emotionless woman who ‘greeted us’ told our table was “over there” to the 25 minute wait before we could even order drinks. And we had to get up and ask the supervisor, Amy, if we could place an order. Her response was “that guy looks after your section” and walked off. And no, they weren’t busy. Empty tables either side of us, possibly 4 other occupied tables in total and we counted 9 staff not attending to any of them. There was 1 guy and a curly haired waitress who were great and seemed to be doing everything. <br/><br/>Amy swanned around pointing out things for her underlings to do without acknowledging the existence of a single customer. We asked to speak to the manager. The general manager himself came over. Not a damn was given. No apology, no immediate action, no follow up. <br/><br/>The food is average. The staff were WAY below average. This group (The Flour Factory, Varnish etc) should stick to bars as they just don’t have the knack for restaurants. <br/><br/>And employ a management team who care about customers. <br/><br/>And the Hadiqa wedding plans have definitely been cancelled.

I will start off by asking, why? Why is the staff trained to dissuade customers from ordering more food? <br/><br/>There were 7 of us, and I wanted to order two bread baskets to share (some of which were a bit stale); got talked out of it. We wanted to get the haloumi, but waitress said its not great for sharing, said I shouldn’t order it. The wait times were too long in between getting our bread, then one kebab, then mains.<br/><br/>The ‘Potato, garlic, feta’ is actually just fries sprinkled with feta crumbs and spice powder. 😑<br/> The dishes are expensive - as what you get is miniscule for the price. 28 bucks for a measly 4 or maybe 5 tiny pieces of lamb. We ordered all four of the ‘Fire’ mains, the prawn was probably most worth it, and the cheapest!<br/><br/>7 of us were seated on a tiny, low table where we spent most of the meal hunched over. <br/><br/>The only “rooftop” we got to experience was a sliding window slightly opened, maybe large enough to stick one’s head through. It was so stuffy and uncomfortable inside, last thing you’d expect from a rooftop bar. <br/><br/>We left disappointed, hungry and for the most part, conned and duped. Won’t be back. <br/>

We have been here a few times now, and each time they haven’t disappointed. Absolutely delicious food served here. We had the eggplant kebab with harissa and honey; green couscous salad with zucchini and lemon; beetroot salad with chestnut and tahini; olives with harissa; chicken with lentil and fenugreek; cauliflower salad with ras el hanout and yoghurt; pita bread (soft and crispy) with fava sweet onion sesame dip, eggplant capsicum almond dip, and yoghurt pomegranate herb dip; pork with saffron and bee pollen; and potato garlic and feta salad. <br/><br/>The dips were just delicious and complimented the pita breads perfectly. The eggplant kebab is also one of my favourites. Love the spices they used in the potato salad. Definitely coming back. Also recommend booking if you can because it does get quite busy!

We dined at hadiqa tonight with a bunch of friends.....we went there with high expectations but were greatly disappointed with the whole experience. Firstly we waited 10 mins till someone gave us attention.... two waitstaff passed by us, saw us waiting but did not acknowledge us at all. <br/>We read the menu and decided to go for the “Diffa” which is described to be a FEAST and is suppose to take you on a journey to the Middle East. We informed them that 2 of us out of the 11 people do not eat seafood.... she said in that case the chef will have to make the whole table no seafood..... we said since the rest of us on the table loved seafood..... we will make it a table of all seafood ( and the two of non seafood eaters would adjust)<br/>We received only bread & dips and hallouimi balls for entree .... as mentioned it was going to be a feast .... but bread and dips is far from a feastly meal.... the mains come out ......to Our disappointment mostly all vegetarian.... hardly any meat..... we made it clear that we are happy to receive the prawns for the entire table..... but we did not receive any at all. <br/>The meals were hardly sufficient and left us hungry for meat. When we asked the waitress is that it ? or are there prawns or other food still coming..... ? <br/>we were informed that they only give us the freshest dishes .....as if to say the prawns were not fresh so they that’s the reason they didn’t serve them to us. <br/>My question is why were we not informed this at the time of ordering <br/>or <br/>why should we pay full price for meals that was far from a FEAST. Wrongly advertised <br/>Dessert was dry baklavas and tiny orange blossom cake. You can get far better middle eastern food in Perth for half the price and better service <br/>Also the straws that we received in our drinks were paper and actually became soggy in the drinks. <br/>Total waste of time and money.

Keen to check this place out. Very disappointed with the outcome. This place is geared for under 30’s as very embarrassed when kicked out at 9:00pm. Food ok, service ok but vibe not suited to good friends sharing time at one venue. Had to move on to Treasury to finish our night. Ignore desserts btw as ordinary. Just a young people’s bar. Won’t go back.

Chicken and lamb were great, as were the trio of breads. Dips were pleasant but not mind blowing. Ordered the “potato, garlic and feta SALAD” but were dumbfounded when we were served a bowl of CHIPS?! Nevertheless, service was attentive and ambience was great.

Food was ok. Lamb dish was yummy, perhaps a little rare. Green cous cous with zucchini side dish was excellent. Fava dip needed a hit of something, it was too bland. Good service. Met friends there for a catch up. Wrong place!!<br/>Noisy noisy noisy! Inane head banging music.

Hadiqa is a rooftop bar with a lovely relaxing space serving Middle Eastern cuisine. Situated next door to Huxtaburger in Hiberian Place, next door to the new Westin Hotel, this is a nice offering to East Perth and is a ~10 minute walk from the Murray St mall area.<br/><br/>I ordered the Marakesh Express which is a meal for one with variety. Preaented in a wooden box which the wait staff disassemble to reveal more food after removing the two wooden draws on top, the food looks colourful and inviting.<br/><br/>In the first drawer is delicious fried and lightly spiced bowl of cauliflower, and a jar of a feta, yoghurt, olive oil and pomegranate dip. In the next draw are deep fried Pita chips to enjoy with the delicious creamy and cheesy dip, plus, baklava for dessert.<br/><br/>In the main box is a well filled wrap with succulent chicken and a capsicum harissa mix with fried chips which oozes soft potato on each bite.<br/><br/>The baklava is excellent, light crispy layers of pastry, a light but not overly sweet syrup, crunchy nuts, just the way I like my baklava.<br/><br/>A very tasty medley of items and so filling a meal you won't leave hungry. Totally stuffed and satisfied. If only I could take a nap in the warm sun!<br/>
