Review Hobart Deli - Perth

I love that they have a menu dedicated to each season. My fave is still their salmon benny - I think that’s autumn and their wrap with mushroom bacon and cheddar. YUM! It’s a nice place to chill and drink. There is a kiddy park across the road if you wanna sip your coffee there. Nice atmosphere too, I prefer sitting outside cause Perth has beautiful sky to look at. And I like people watching. I love their toasted banana bread. They tend to get busy as heck in the weekend, even in the early hours.

Been here a few times and love it! Great food, very nice honey chai tea and lots of options. Not to mention across from a fenced playground, bonus for parents!
Laura Forbister
Delicious food, good serving size! I got the breaky burger and a fresh juice! Super cozy atmosphere with lots of seating. Friendly staff. Love coming here!
Michael Coghlan
I have no idea how they made my breakfast wrap taste as good as it did. Highly rate. Someone else got the bacon Benny and a ham and cheese toastie. All our meals were great

Great atmosphere, nice and cosy. Open and bustling kitchen. Food came quick. Food was flavourful with a range of options for everyone. Everything was fresh and well matched. Loads of sweet and savoury options including a sugarless loaf which was divine.

Love this place. Excellent service and best coffee everytime. Had my birthday breakfast here today and friends loved and enjoyed it. My-go-to morning coffee and breakfast place with my partner who introduced me the place.

Best cheese selection in Perth! Great new spot with a fresh atmosphere!

It was my first time here. Upon walking in, I was mesmerised with the vast array of choices on offer for slices and muffins and cakes....catering for gluten free, too!! I had the oatmeal, and I have to say, for the $16 price tag, it was nothing more than a generous portion of porridge with a little bit of ruhbarb and chia seeds sprinkled on top. My pot of tea was lovely and it had a generous serve of tea leaves do flavour the water. My daughter had the poached eggs and bacon, all was lovely, you could tell they bacon was free range, the flavour was yummy. I bought a take-away lemon pistachio slice and I thought the price was a bit steep at $4.50 for quite a small slice. However it was absolutely devine !! All around a great experience and I will be back with my gluten-intolerant mother who will be so excited at the choices available to her 😀

The food is always fresh and delicious, the menu has a nice range and the coffee is decent, though not outstanding. The staff seem a bit distracted/disinterested at times, and could be friendlier. Nevertheless, it's a busy place and it is often very difficult to get a table on the weekend!

What a thoughtful selection for inspiring meals. It’s great for grabbing something for a meal or spontaneous afternoon catch up with friends.

Went last Friday for breakfast. Good service and delicious food.

Since swapping the coffee to Leftfieldcoffee Hobart Deli has become my favourite place in North Perth!
Suzie Barnes
Still one of my fave places to visit, awesome food with great service in a great quiet location. Slices and cakes are just too good to refuse!
Paul Joyce
Always a go to for top notch breaky and/or lunch. Great service, coffee and perfectly located away from busy streets with quiet, leafy surrounds. Zucchini fritas = food from the gods.
Rosi Muir
Small and friendly with good quality food every time from cakes to savoury to salad! Neighbourhood vibe is nice and opposite a little park too if you have kids.
Nicole Woyzbun
We love Hobart St Deli, the coffee is perfect, the food amazing, and the staff ever so friendly. Extra bonus is the park across the road perfect for play dates :) thanks team Hobart!

Food Order:<br/>Rosti n Chorizo<br/>Mushroom Bruschetta<br/>Ham n Cheddar Ciabatta Toastie<br/><br/>Drinks Order:<br/>Ice Mocha<br/>Vanilla Milkshake<br/><br/>Total bill: $65<br/><br/>Hero Dish: Rosti n Chorizo.<br/><br/>Final Verdict: excellent cafe located in Mt Hawthorn. Although the space is small, the staff is very friendly and the food taste delicious. Good portion sizes as well which is very important to me. I'll definitely come back again and try something new.

What Hobart Deli lacks in size is more than compensated by the excellent food.<br/>Excellent coffees and great value breakfasts.<br/>Mushroom and Spinach Bruschetta on toasted sourdough with fetta, pine nuts and salsa verde is scrumptious.<br/>The Ciabatta Toasties are really good too.<br/>

Nice little local cafe and bakery. Serves a good selection of morning fare and great coffee. Worth checking out nect time if your in the area.
Danielle Marklew
Love it when you find a spot that does consistently great food and coffee. Just wish the staff were a little friendlier, I'd be here much more often!
Janice Bryner
Went for early Sunday breakfast today to avoid the crowds. Friendly staff, well executed food (appreciated Strange Grains toast, I wish more cafes provided decent gluten free bread), nice atmosphere. Fantastic coffee - my traditional short Mac tasted like fine dark chocolate.

Hobart Deli is quite a popular brekkie spot in North Perth ☀️. The menu doesn't just offer your standard bacon & egg on toast, but so many more choices.<br/><br/>Ian opts for pork belly with chilli fried egg 🐷🌶🍳 and it is so worth it. Leathery crackling is the only thing that isn't too great, otherwise the pork is super tasty and perfectly complimented by the remarkable dressing. It's bold, zingy, has a great amount of heat and really brightens up the heavy pork.<br/><br/>My yummy zucchini and haloumi patties 🥒🧀🐟 sure don't disappoint either. They're well-seasoned, warm and crunchy, with beetroot pesto as the ideal accompaniment. Slices of smoked salmon provide a good change in texture and flavour, while the poached egg adds in a much-invited creaminess.<br/><br/>With both plates keeping us satisfied past lunch time, I guess you can say they've put deli in delicious!
Deedee
Coffee is amazing! Love that they do breakfast until 2!! So many places let me down with only serving brekky till 11- not the case here! Highly recommend the fritters- and the sour lemon cake/muffin- BEYOND yummy!!<br/>Love that it’s easy parking being tucked away in the suburbs- and a nice dog-free zone park just over the road for the kiddies.
Jason Hope
I can not fault this place, period! Consistently good coffee and a great selection of in house cakes and slices. The menu is seasonal and sources free range and organic ingredients from local producers. <br/><br/>It’s so nice to come by fairly regularly and to be remembered and greeted by staff. They’re very attentive and always accommodating and most importantly serve customers with a SMILE, no matter how busy and frantic it is.<br/><br/>I love the fresh salad choices, three different ones each day. They have a great selection of wraps and sandwiches too.<br/><br/>A fave is the Potato Rosti, poached eggs with a charred corn salsa and a side of chorizo. <br/><br/>The Zucchini and Haloumi fritter with poached eggs and smoked salmon is also amazing!<br/><br/>You also need to try their Lemon/Thyme drizzle cake! Oh my, you won’t regret it!

I have basically lived here for years, I love the staff, good simple and tasty food, good coffee, great vibe, nice outdoor seating, fab regular customers and just a big shout out to all the staff at Hobart deli!! you guys make it what it is .
Jasmackandherpack
Can always rely on Hobart Deli for a good coffee and extensive range of interesting food! Lines are always long in the morning due to the proximity to an enclosed park across the street, which many family's frequent with their children!
Shoey Kay
Beautifully presented and very delicious food, efficient and friendly service, great tasting coffee. It's obvious they use good quality produce and the price is well worth it. Having said that it was by no means expensive. Breakfast and a soy latte for $25 is very reasonable in Perth. Will definitely be back.

A lazy Sunday brekkie with paper. Love the relaxed vibes of this little neighbourhood café; lots of locals passing through with their furry friends. I ordered eggs and a long Mac topped up at the counter. No table number was given simply where you will sit. My coffee soon arrived without a number to locate me; it was good coffee and nice and hot. Brekkie didn’t take long either and the scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, with nice crunchy ciabatta and butter. No complaints with the food. Will give their winter menu a go when it arrives; want to try the open hot dog with bratwurst!
HollyDolly
Great place for mums to pop in and grab lifesaving coffee next to the park and their muffins are too die for. <br/>Food is a little on the pricey side but top notch quality and everything from scratch <br/>A little small at times but usually friendly customers too so it tends to work
JL
Reliably delicious food with friendly service. <br/><br/>Relaxed atmosphere across from a community park. Very accessible with easy street side parking.
Daniela Lumbaca
This morning we had breakfast here which consisted of scrambled eggs on ciabata toast (added avocado), granola, skinny cap & iced coffee. <br/>Eggs were creamy & pleasant, without the avocado plate would have been a little bare in comparison to most cafe's these days. Granola was nice & crunchy & good quality coffee. <br/>Overall quite over priced however, servings were small for what you pay & although enjoyable we could've had the same experience with a cheaper price tag. Service was also underwhelming... Unfortunately the waitress continued to bring incorrect orders to our table & continued to forget small requests (like cutlery) so we retrieved everything ourselves - not a huge deal as we're pretty patient but when you're selling things at certain prices you should certainly back it up with service to soften the blow.
More Than Nourishment
Nice local spot to go to especially if you want to pick up a treat and coffee to head across the road to the enclosed kids playground. I picked up a coffee and sweet muffin. Both were nice but nothing out of the ordinary. Great range of baked treats and rolls. Service was very efficient!
LifesGood
Great coffee and breakfast. Some amazing sweets too. Always friendly service which really makes it an all-round great experience. Thanks Hobart deli!
Anna Mcgregor
Beautiful coffee and cakes. <br/>Salads and rolls are great too.<br/>The staff are amongst what makes this place and do an amazing job working in a small space. <br/><br/>Only draw back is how cramped it gets and the price!!!
Alexcp
Knocked me up a bacon and egg sandwich to go and hit the spot ! Great service looking forward to going back for a full breakfast soon. !
Billylamb
Busy little neighbourhood café. There were no tables left outside on a beautiful Perth day so sat inside - next time would definitely try get a window or outdoor spot. The kitchen and cooking happens right in the middle of the café and there were so many sweet things to choose from. Would be a great spot for coffee and cake. We had breakfast which came out surprisingly fast for such a busy day. The zucchini and haloumi patties were delicious, the French toast a treat and the potato rosti and salmon was nice too but I think the patties were the winner out of what we ordered. Noticed some meals in the fridge, quiches etc. that you could buy and take home too. Really interesting menu and lots of gluten free options too. Would love to come back.

Hobart Deli is an excellent place to buy fresh milk, as it is walking distance from my house. The milk is at a adequate price with reasonable freshness.<br/>My dad went there for coffee once, he said it was alright.
Vegetarian
Another excellent breakfast this morning: interesting selection, good service, great coffee. Really enjoyed the cardamom orange red rice pudding, it was perfect for a hot morning. Could've done with a touch more mango, but that could be because I love it so much.
FOOD BUTT
I live locally, so pop by the Hobart deli often. I drink chai lattes and they are so delicious from here! My favourite! They also make really yum slices, especially the caramel slice. I've had hot food, and cold food here - and enjoyed both plenty of times. Props to the chef :-) The only thing I could fault really is the service can sometimes be not so great. I come by a lot, and I think it would be nice for the staff to attempt to build some sort of rapport. At times, it can also be pretty slow even when its quiet. All in all though, I still love coming in for a hot drink or some brunch!
Alex Dimov
Not much to say about this place although it's a nice, quiet located cafe however the traffic isn't that quiet. It's very popular for the local cyclist who tend to eat there around 8:30am and they come in very big groups so you'll be very lucky to find a seat after 9am.<br/><br/>The staff were really only friendly to the regulars that come in. No smiles, no greetings, just stares for the non regulars.<br/><br/>The only thing that is good about this place, quite literal, is the food. I ordered the regular - scrambled eggs which was very thick and full of flavour. It came with two toasted slices of sourdough from New Norcias Bakery, which is hands down the best for fresh and thick bread loaves. <br/><br/>Anthony Trovato order the toasted rye bread with poached eggs, smoked salmon and asparagus and said it was very filling and full of flavour. <br/><br/>The food and the coffee was the only thing that lifted the rating on this. If the service was good also, this would of definitely been a close 4.5 rating. Maybe that's just something to work on.

Continuing my search for a matcha latte I popped in here for a look. Unfortunately they had none but I was tempted by their sweets display. I left with a raspberry and chocolate brownie which apparently they are renown for, and it was indeed one of the best I've had. I also left with a jar of Postcode Honey which is produced down the road. I didn't have a look at the eat in menu however it was a lovely setting and I will be back to sample the food. Free street parking. Outdoor seating available.

Great coffee and muffins!!! Love walking in and being surprised by the sweet muffin flavours these guys throw up!!! Great place with the kids too as there is a park opposite for them to run around in. Big tick!!
CiderCraze
Recommended by a friend and I decided to give it a shot. Certainly didn't disappoint!<br/>It's really popular, packed by 11.30am. Prompt service, nothing fancy but all very substantial. Love the very moist blueberry brownie.
Nic
Worst service ever! I had downloaded this app and written this review while waiting for one coffee in an empty shop at 7.30am! It has taken 15 min to get a coffee. There are more staff than patrons.
AngMohAsian
I love this place away from the main roads. Can't believe I found it. One of the very few places that do awesome bacon without a flame grill. Coffee is also good and I love how they give you a box of cutlery a serviette with proper salt shaker and pepper grinder. Easy to park and nice library to stir your creativity for cooking.
Michelle
The staff were super friendly and helpful. The decor is quirky (and there are cards for sale). We got a latte, afghan cookie, brownie, and sausage roll (filled with spiced pork, corn, spinach, and carrot, with tomato sauce) for $20.40, and everything tasted great. I'd imagine it gets quite busy at peak times. (So maybe I shouldn't be telling more people about it...)<br/>The downside is that they don't display their prices for the food that's on display. And the prices are on the expensive side.

Just moved into the area so this has become my local as it is on my way to work. They make a delicious mocha. I also tried one of their savoury muffins, which was super bland. I still need to try their sweet stuff, which looks great.<br/>Edit: their raw balls (cocoa, cranberries, coconut, maple syrup) are delicious! They also make a really good short macchiato.
Dean Brownless
Over rated, rude, and overpriced. I was not greeted by any member of staff, i was not told about ordering at the counter nor was i told I had to add my own chocolate to my tiny coffee to make it a mocha. The staff were rude and cold. Terrible customer service!!! The mocha situation was a joke. I pay almost $5 for a mocha and im expected to make it myself? This maybe a "quirky" idea by the owner but it does not work. The small glass was half full and i was expected to add in the chocolate granules. When I asked the girl what it was all about she offered to give me more milk as I was shocked at how small the amount was in the glass. My wife got a latte and it was in the same small glass as mine. Basically, a rip off over rated joint, that prides itself on being all organic. Get your customer service and pricing strategies right first and foremost and it would be an amazing!
Wine And Dine Me
Great breakfast & coffee!

This morning's Hobart Deli Bircher was probably the best I've ever tasted. Subbed out the honey for a splash of Maple Syrup and wow. Taste sensation! :0)<br/>Cheers gang!

This pleasant cafe, is one of those rare gems dropped into a nice suburb area and is back up with great food, friendly staff at a typical price for Perth.
Luckeypennie
Good muffin, burnt coffee!. I ordered a skinny flat white which was relatively burnt and complained and then recieved a coffee even further burnt. Will not be coming back
Viabledreamer
Love it!!!. I adore this little cafe! Apart from the great decor, the buzzing park across the road and the super friendly staff.. They provide amazing food, coffee and juices. They do get quite busy on the weekends and as it is a small cafe it can get crowded but this.is.normal. To the people complaining about waiting time, come on - if its busy, you may obviously have to wait, alternatively you may simply have to go somewhere else if you don't like weekend morning crowds! And the peeps who imply bad service, say WHAT!? - I don't personally know anyone who works there, yet every time I am served by a different staff member they are nothing but kind and accommodating.. All done with a smile (even if it is really busy). The girl with long blonde hair, I cant remember her name, is absolutely amazing; kudos!! Love this place, I'll be back for my caffeine fix tomorrow ;)
Kim
Don't bother if you want service.. I live nearby and have been going to this cafe frequently and am always disappointed by the poor manner of the staff. I can accept the very average watery coffee because it is convenient for me near the park. I just can't get past the miserable staff. This weekend my change was near thrown into my hand without a word said in the exchange. Your cafe isn't that good you can dish out this rude attitude.
Mrs_ox_qtn
Quirky neighbourhood cafe, absolutely love it. Good coffee, food and friendly people. A must for weekend brunch!
Samiransari
Terrible service. rude staff. The staff are so rude, (why work in hospitality when you hate serving customers?) and you have to wait a long time for a coffee
David
Terrible Service. Walked in today for brunch and was completely ignored.. After a few minutes of having waiters walk around us, oblivious to the fact we wanted a table, we were told by the miserable looking women behind the counter that there was a 40 min wait for food. Hobart Deli, pick up your game..

Tasty bagel. Came down for the first time this morning and found it very enjoyable. I ordered the bagel with tomato, Fetta, avocado and rocket, very nice and filling. Coffee and juice were also nice. I'm sure I will be back because the rest of the menu looked delicious.
Lila Tan
Couldn't believe $28.20 for a big breakfast & a normal coffee!!! Too costly people! And to make matters worse I had to sit in a draughty cold place; ok it's winter but I like to go to a cosy cafe, and at those prices they have a damn nerve in my opinion!
Deanne
Very Cute!. Great little place nestled in North Perth. I had a wonderful deconstructed hot chocolate!
Louise Forbes
Great little place. The food is delish, the staff are sooo friendly and its a great location. Only complaint would be that coffees take ages to arrive.
Foodie
My favourite. I have been going to Hobart Deli for about 2 years now & I have NEVER been disappointed. The staff are lovely, the coffees are one of the best in Perth & the food is delicious. I will keep going back & have told lots of my friends about it who are now hooked on this wonderful place.
StarQ
I liked Hobart Deli - went there today with a friend for breakfast, food was tasty and came out reasonably fast, as did our coffees (although my coffee was a little burnt). I had the scrambled eggs on toast with a side of tomatoes & it was really tasty.
Cass Cheeseman
Worth the wait. First time there for breakfast this morning. We did wait a LONG time for our breaky but drinks and coffees came out almost instantly. We were in no hurry so it didn't really matter. All four breakfasts were worth the wait. You can definitely tell everything is organic as the flavours were amazing. Coffees not as strong as I usually like but I would return in a heartbeat. And it was EASY to park! Attempted Picollos initially but the parking was a nightmare!<br/>Great service too!! A long wait but worth it even with two small children!
Jay
Waited an hour for poached eggs and a porridge
Monique
Coffees are super slow- WAH! Not cool :( came 10 minutes after my breakfast! Peach parfait was awesome though :)
Emma
NO KIDS MENU. When you're in a plum spot, across from a very busy, fully fenced in park that is a favourite with mums from south to north-why wouldn't you accommodate for that crowd. Although it's cute, with nice coffee etc I feel that they are truly missing the mark when refusing to "cater for kids"! <br/>I mean it's marketing 101 right??!? The customers are there for you but you aren't making the most of it. <br/>Don't think I'll be back & I definitely won't be recommending it anymore. Such a shame as there is not too many options in Perth.
Emma
Great coffee, relaxed environment and fridge/lunch items are tasty. Have heard good reviews of the breakfast menu (weekends until 2pm), must try soon!
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Menu selection is short, but very sweet with many gluten free and vegetarian options. All eggs and meat products are free range - even the bacon! Since I'm still dieting I stayed away from the carb loaded naughty-ness and tried the GF Pumpkin Hash with Smoked Salmon, Kale Ricotta, Mixed Leaves & Poached Egg ($19.50). It was amazingly delicious. The pumpkin hash was almost like a potato cake, but way more flavoursome, egg was cooked perfectly (goo city) and I even enjoyed the kale ricotta.<br/><br/>V's Wholemeal Toasted Bagel with Avocado, Tomato and Feta ($15) disappeared from his plate quickly. He was impressed!<br/><br/>The coffee was rich and well balanced. Even the Long Black went down nicely. If you're looking for a cold treat though, the Dream Juice - pineapple, orange and coconut water tasted like a virgin margarita ($6). Yum!
Vicki
Foodie galore. Went to this little gem for breakfast. Best breakfast around. Went the next day for lunch. Salads ver fresh and healthy. Service great. Coffee is excellent. Tip though....too much ice in the iced coffee.
Coffeequeen
LOVE this place! Had never been before and had the best experience here! I'm a barista and the coffee was delicious. Girl with short blonde curly hair served us and she was just lovely! Had some banana bread and the tortilla, both were delicious! Love that they sell awesome cards too. Cheers for the 1pm 'breaky' guys!
JK
I must be made of glass as all the staff looked through me as I stood there waiting to order. I was the only one standing there til a lady came along and was attended too. They were not full of people and not sure if they thought I was waiting for a coffee order but no one even asked if I was waiting or if they could help. Most of them looked busy trying to look busy. Cannot even comment on the food or coffee cause I left...
Aishah534
Cheesed Off. This is the second time I've been to this deli. I really wanted to like it because of the decor and the 'cool' vibe it gives off. I've now had the zucchini and halloumi pattie of which there was NO halloumi , some leaves and a tiny poached egg. <br/><br/>For the price, not at all worth it.
Kayla Bajars
Nice Coffee. I come back here often. I really love how it is in a quiet spot. The breakfast is delicious and the coffee is outstanding. Some staff maybe could have been a bit friendlier.
Amy
My family and I came to Hobart on Sunday morning, an extremely disappointing visit. We had been there a few times before, today we were able to quickly get a table thinking that we would served in 'normal' time. However, after receiving our drinks 10 minutes after ordering it took over an hour for our food to arrive. This is absolutely ridiculous service and would never expect to wait over 60 minutes, especially at a cafe. They did offer us a free coffee to compensate, however, wen your egg comes out not runny and soft after waiting that long, I'm not very happy. Don't think I will making it back any time soon.
Meat-cat
Blandwhich. Great coffee and great atmosphere, we ordered the manwhich, it was a little disappointing. For the price, two pieces of bread filled with only bacon, super thick toast and a side of relish was bland and unfulfilling. great little spot though!
EmmaP
Won't be going back. They got our order totally wrong, as well as the table next to us, and then when we sent it back to get the correct meal the same guy actually brought it back out twice to 'check' that we were sure we didn't want it because it was more expensive than what we'd actually ordered. <br/><br/>The freshly squeezed watermelon and strawberry juice was quite obviously straight out of a bottle and in a smallish glass was a joke for nearly $7. The coffee was okay but the accompanying brownie should have been gold-plated for over $5.<br/><br/>Might be good for mummies just wanting an overpriced coffee with the park just over the road but unless you enjoy paying through the nose for things you didn't actually order I'd go somewhere else. <br/><br/>Overall a disappointing experience.
Evelyn Coral
Used to be a favourite however service seems to be declining on my last few visits. Food takes a long time, a lot of mix-ups and meals arriving to tables with long gaps between the people dining together.
Sarah
Delayed ambivalence. I've decided to delay my reviews so they're not affected by immediate negative reactions induced by extreme hunger due to delayed service or post prandial highs from a gloriously full tummy.<br/><br/>So three weeks later I'm still ambivalent about this eatery. It wasn't terrible by any means, but I wouldn't go back in a hurry. But in all honesty, it's not my local.<br/> <br/>Our table of four waited a loooong time for our meals and coffee. We saw other tables arrive, eat, drink and leave. <br/><br/>Breaky was a good size, beetroot relish delicious, zucchini and haloumi fritters disappointing on account of a total absence of haloumi, and haloumi is not a cheese you easily miss given its delicious saltiness and rubbery/squeaky texture.<br/><br/>Scrambled egg portion small given the extra $4 I paid for the option of an egg other than poached (the ongoing bane of my first world breakfast problems).<br/><br/>It's ok. Nice venue, friendly polite staff.
Michelle Hiding
Forever reliable. Have been here on any occasions. ALWAYS good. Thank you Hobart Street, I'm always happy to drive that little further to visit you!!
Bridget
I have been visiting Hobart Deli every weekend for over a year now and a weekend doesn't feel complete without it. Great coffee which makes drinking espressos easy, amazingly delicious food, full playground breakfast recommended. Service can be a bit slow at times but the friendly staff more than make up for this. Lovely location across from a park, always full of young family's, cyclists and cute dogs. I highly recommend everyone else ignoring negativity and giving it a go.
Wes Elliott
Regularly visit here for brunch. I like the fact the brunch menu extends late. <br/><br/>Coffee a little expensive. But food and service good. Fave meal is the French Toast with berries and lemon curd.
Secret Diner
Waiting waiting waiting..... I was waiting for coffee for almost 30 minutes. No idea if they lost my order or what....There were many ppl working there but they didn't seem to be productive enough. One of the girls apologised but that was it. I should be given this very average coffee for free. Shame....
Foodlove
Nothing wow!. I've heard so many good things about this place and especially that coffee is amazing. First of all its still $4.5 like everywhere else in Perth and didn't wow me at all. Very very average....and also it takes ages for it to be made!
Delish Stylish
Hmmm. Maybe the food looks great but the service is shocking. Takes ages to be served even though there are seven staff in the kitchen and on the floor!<br/>Will not be back!
The Crone
A rip off!. $14.90 for a salad in a take away container that was mainly parsley and bits of cauliflower and raw beans.
Carla
Overpriced and the wait on coffees has totally put me off. I now bring takeaway coffee from elsewhere to the park across the road now.
KitCat
I loved it, great breakfast choices, the zucchini haloumi fritters that came with the full huge vegetarian meal were just divine at $21 it was well worth the cost. Coffee was good, staff were friendly, atmosphere was buzzing, rave review all round.
Marg Anne
Coffees take way too long and my order has been wrong both times I've been there. But it is a cute cafe across from a nice park.
Micko247
Fantastic at judging what they can do with quality while realising they can't do it all, and happy to promote suppliers of the rest. <br/>One of the real selling points is clearly the buzzing park across the road - single Dad's should make a move!<br/>But it was the signature Pear, Pistachio and Chocolate loaf that sold me - certainly knowing that I can order a 5x espresso without the waiter thinking I might need a prescription doesn't hurt.
Smack
First Impressions. Has a nice feel in a cute local suburb of mount hawthorn/north perth.<br/><br/>Expensive coffee and very average blend. Medium bodied which lacks freshness, palate slightly acidic with some indications of rancid beans. Abesent crema.<br/><br/>Plenty of old ducks having a chat and catch up which is quite soothing once they are seated and not having a gabber at the counter. <br/><br/>Suggestions - new beans, slightly lower prices and you'll be firing!
Han
Slow and rude! Waited over .... Slow and rude!<br/>Waited over 20 mins for 2 takeaway coffees. When I asked what was going on they said I was next . I was not next so I asked again and they realised my order was on the floor. No apology at all, finally got my coffee and they weren't even that great
Em
We went here after avoiding it for over a year, after hearing the snotty service and ridiculous pricing had changed. We were mistaken! $17 for a basic blt bagel? Was only about 3 people in the cafe yet they still forgot our coffees, which were average at very best. An employee and friend decided to forgo normal health regulations and smoke at the table next to us outside. the only saving grace is the small playground across the road. Mums in need of a quick coffee fix on a playdate must keep this place in business, nothing else would.
Mason Truong
Nice atmosphere and good food. Has a very rustic and warm summery feel to it being here for brunch! Would definitely recommend it to any brunch people out there!
Lucky Bags
Good Chai!. I was driving through the area and thought I'd see what had become of the corner deli that used to inhabit this place. I fondly remember going there as a kid after school to buy lollies and ice-creams. The place looks much different now and was quite busy for a Monday morning.<br/><br/>I ordered a chai and a raspberry/choc brownie and I'm glad I did. My chai was hot, creamy and sweet. Just the way I like it! Too often, I receive chai's that are room temperature and go cold the minute you get back to the car. This chai was perfect. I'm not sure whether their baked goods are made in-house, but my brownie was rich and delicious, and probably not the most nutritious breakfast snack going, which of course means that it was super tasty.

Yummy food!! The rye bagel with rocket avo tomato feta and some yummy oil is delish! Coffee is pretty average, I find it bitter and watery with bubbly froth, still go back for the food!

Had poached eggs with toast and a coffee. Lovely ciabatta bread, nice eggs and alright coffee. The cabinet was full of delicious looking goodies too. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the place had a good vibe when I arrived, but the big influx of kids and prams changed the ambience quite a bit.

Disappointed Customer. Today I took my grand-daughter to Hobart Street Deli for lunch after the park, which we often do, I was told by the guy(which I think was the Manager) at the counter that I could not have a piece of smoked salmon for my grand-daughter which we always have received in the past.<br/> I asked what there was for a 3 year old to eat and the answer I got was "WE DO NOT CATER FOR KIDS” <br/>If that is the case I will never go back there again. I can’t understand as the park is full of kids across the road and they have always been so accommodating when it came to kids<br/>I am so disappointed - As I owed a very succesful cafe for 18 years and was always accomodating when it came to the customer. They are paying!!!<br/> Hope you do something about it.

The mushroom ragout was fantastic, a must for mushroom fans. Overall was excellent, go there!

Slow! I just popped in for a takeaway coffee - with baby, bag and blanket in arms. It was 25 minutes from the time I entered the store until I left with my coffee and there was only one couple ahead of me in the line. Ridiculous! I have never seen staff work slower, they weren't even apologetic about it. Will give it a miss next time.

Very family friendly with a nice park across the road. Favorite dish is the French toast with bacon. <br/>Absolutely love this place!

Muffins!. I really don't want to write a review because I don't want anyone else to discover this secret, but I feel that the friendly folk @ Hobart St Deli deserve some thanks for the FABULOUS vegetarian muffins that they produce each day.<br/>Unlike muffins just about everywhere else, Hobart St's version is full of REAL, tasty, CHUNKS of various vegetables – and the vegetable content varies daily so one never gets bored. <br/>Seriously the best muffins ever.<br/>Don't tell anyone.

Tasty Coffee. A weekly regular for me, nice coffee and cakes, a bit sick of seeing the chef's plumber's crack though :( service and food is always nice though

I love Hobart Deli! It's the perfect place for a substantial and delicious breakfast and awesome for lunch. I had a beautiful toasted seeded roll with roasted pumping and it was outstanding. It's easy food with excellent ingredients. And they also make a mean macchiato!!! Fab fab place!!

I live just down the street so I have been here numerous times and the food is always great. It is great to have a quirky little cafe in your local neighborhood that is reasonably priced! I most certainly recommend. :)

Beautiful Food. As soon as you walk into this funky little cafe located within walking distance of scarborough beach road in north perth you are greeted with friendly faces genuinly wanting to help and give great service. The food menu has recently changed to include this dish which has in house cured salmon that tasted amazing, beautiful soft poached egg. The female chef that was in the kitchen was flat out busy but didn't looked stressed and was pumping the food out and it all looked amazing. The coffee was great as well and I enjoyed the whole experience alot and will definately be coming back.

Ok for breakfast but lunch is boring.Way too try hard and over priced.

Great find. When a friend invited me to breakfast here I was a bit dubious after finding out where it was and reading some of the reviews!! Neednt have worried. The service was excellent and breakfast well cooked. Visited a few days later to try out the lunch time dishes - and now I am hooked! Some of the best (and most unusual) salads in town with great cooked dishes to put with them. Salmon tart to die for the last time we popped in. And that choc and fruit slice they make in house is so yummy. Biggest problem here is what to choose and not putting on too much weight!!!! Enjoy

This place is so average- I live a couple of doors away and the only time I set foot in here is if I'm too hungover to crawl anywhere else.
Tessa
Awesomesauce. Great place! Nice vibe, friendly staff, and good gluten free options. I didn't check out whether they have a gluten free toaster, but they do have a couple of dishes apart from the gluten free toast options. Not cheap, but not overpriced either. Totally try the potato cakes with beetroot pesto!

Mmmm iced chocolates!. I grew up around this area. I used to walk to the playground opposite the previous deli, and I would buy lollies and icecreams from the deli if I had any money. It's sad not seeing the old deli there anymore, but Hobart Deli is a nice replacement. <br/><br/>I went for a walk around the area and heard about this deli, so my siblings and I decided to have a drink. The place was full of young families and prams, considering there's a playground opposite the deli, which would make parking a bit difficult here. Luckily, I live a short stroll to the deli, so parking won't be an issue for me. <br/><br/>Aside from that, we ordered iced chocolates, which were so delicious. I love the straws the serve them with, which you can buy apparently. They sell gifts and books as well, which is great. Their decor is good to look at, and fits well.<br/><br/>I've wanted to go back and try their menu, but it doesn't look like a big menu and looks quite expensive. Still, I wouldn't mind trying it. It's a cute little local cafe, which I think there should be more around Perth.

As locals, we are often at this place. Love the breakfast wrap as well as the gluten free options. In saying that the staff are a little disinterested or more interested in other things that are going on. I also don't like that this cafe seems to be a parking lot for prams! Soccer mum hang out. In saying that we keep returning and will continue to do so.

I love this place the food the coffee and the service has always been great :)

Best scrambled eggs in Perth! Yummy muffins and homemade goodies always on counter to tempt you. Love!

Too Much Attitude. Stopped by for a coffee just before 7am this morning. The young guy behind the counter asked me to wait for the barista to finish moving a box across the room. When she was happy with the new position of said box she snapped at the young guy for not pushing the right button for the order (by the way, they charge you an extra 30c for a take away coffee because $4.20 is already eating into the profit margin). I sat outside and waited outside until something resembling a milkshake arrived at my table. I must have a had a stunded look on my face as she commented on why my face looked like someone had shoved a lemon down my throat. After explaining the I ordered a "traditional" (Perth for normal) long macchiato. "Why didn't you ask for a traditional"?... "I did"..."mmmm". In the time it took to walk back inside and garrote the already long suffering staff member, make a new coffee and return to my table I was ready to get the hell out of dodge.

Great Quirky Local Cafe. I was really surprised to read the negative reviews for Hobart Deli. I go there a lot and I've always been taken care of by the friendly staff. One time my eggs were slightly overdone and they where more than happy to redo them for me. The cakes are divine and the food is fresh.<br/><br/>I do think that the meals are overpriced for what you can get elsewhere so I tend to only go for the cheapest eggs on toast option.<br/><br/>They also sell great cards, gifts and books which is an added bonus.<br/><br/>Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it.
Yumm
Cute place. Cute place, cute vibe, staff always try their hardest to accommodate requests (there are some snobby people that go there..). The eggplant fritters are amazing, and the coffee is hot. Muffins- apple and cinnamon like you've never had it before, melting in my mouth.
Pk
Like someone else said, not all that, get over yourselves.. Nice location, coffee was ok. Terrible service from the owner (?); I'm making assumptions here but please, whoever was at the till taking orders, smile, say hello, look your customer in the eye (instead of who's walking in the door), say thank you (instead of watching who's walking out your door) and make their experience at your cafe a pleasant one enough for them to want to come back and spend their money and keep you in business. Couldn't get out quick enough.
Shark Lasers
Nice food, miserable service. The food is delicious, and the coffee is nice but lukewarm (it's also slow to come out). I have an issue with the uncovered food on the counter, which unfortunately seems like a rising trend in hipster cafes like this. <br/><br/>But what gets me the most is the miserable staff. Honestly, there are enough jobs in WA right now that if you don't want to work in a cafe, you don't have to. Cheer up or get out sad-sack Hobart Deli staff, friendly customer services is important!
JayLo
Not worth a visit. This place looks nice enough however looks can be deceiving.<br/>On entering the cafe, staff were rude and not interested, constantly eating behind the counter and ignoring the three of us standing at the counter.<br/>Eventually we were served, they only took half our order down and we paid not realising this. Then when we had told them they hadn't taken the second half of the order they huffed and puffed under their breath and then charged us once again for what they forgot to the first time. <br/>When we then received our food, all the orders were wrong and the staff then complained about having to change it to the right order.<br/>To top it off the coffee came out about 10 mins later and also wasn't fantastic.<br/>Terrible service considering there were three customers in the cafe and about 6 staff behind the counter.<br/>Never returning here again, and it is such a shame as my office is located just around the corner and all I want is to be able to take my clients out for good coffee!!!
Natalie Tierney
Good. The breakfast menu has a lot to offer, however I found myself a little bit disappointed that they didn't just have eggs and bacon with toast. Instead, you can get eggs with a side of bacon - costing you $17.00, as the sides are $4.50 each. So, I opted for the breakfast wrap ($15.90), which came with fried eggs, bacon, fried tomatoes, pecorino, and greens. A ended up getting a pineapple and ginger muffin. Both were really nice. The muffin was moist and the flavour of the ginger and pineapple was not too overbearing. My breakfast wrap was crispy on the outside and tasty in the middle - just what you want in a breakfast wrap. <br/><br/>My main gripe was that the coffee took a bit long, as it came to the table after our food. However, the taste of the coffee definitely made up for the wait. They use crema beans and the barista certainly knew what she was doing. <br/><br/>Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this café and will return soon.

Good coffee and cake but too many noisy screaming kids. Thought I was in a child care centre.
Sammy
Outstanding barista, I like my soy coffee HOT, which so few places get right, and these guys were spot on. lovely relaxed atmosphere and delicious and unique food.

Had a really adverage coffee here. It's a shame as it's a really great space.

Good coffee. Not Epic level, but certainly a cut above most.
Foodfan
Very disappointing & overpriced food. We were super excited to try this new cafe in our neighbourhood but were sadly disappointed. The coffee was overly bitter. The muesli was far too sweet as it had honey poured all over it. The smoked salmon, poached egg & corn bread dish was terrible and extremely overpriced. With one egg (overcooked), a tiny piece of salmon and corn bread that was so sugary it was like a piece of cake we left with an empty pocket and empty stomach. The menu looked fantastic and so did the cakes on the counter so it was such a shame that the food didn't deliver.
Seoulcitykitty
A bice place for coffee and lunch, but I didn't quite understand why there was a table blocking my access to the display fridge (reducing me the having to peer at the food from an angle and squint to read signs). Great relaxed vibe.
Sam
Great location. Waited with excited bated breath for this cafe to open as we live 1 minute walk away - how disappointed...unfriendly sulky staff, way to over priced for a local cafe!<br/>Not impressed with book showing male jocks and a hole in the crouch area at kids hight level was asked about why there was hole in the pants for hours after.<br/>Dared asked for a poached egg 5 minutes after breakfast was due to finish as was told no, explained my son was on a very special diet and could not eat any of the salads/pre cooked meals or other stuff and staff just looked at me blankly and said no - what could have been wonderful is NOT - never again
North Perth
Walked down there for breakfast this morning. Amazing food, great service and dog friendly! Great to have this cute little deli in my neighborhood, I will be back!
The Sneaky Pigeon
Twice in four days. This delightful little cafe has served me so well I've already been three times since discovering it a couple of weeks ago. Please try their homemade cornbread which comes with asparagus, smoked salmon and dill cream that has a lovely lime tang. It is SO good! Their Mushroom ragu is also delicious. I love the chick behind the counter with the thick rimmed glasses and even thicker Italian accent. She makes the dining experience that much more enjoyably authentic.

WE LIKE IT. What a refreshing change to the normal great food and service.<br/>We have found our new breakfast place.
Charlotte Courtenay
Great coffee, happy staff, constantly varying lunches of which I recommend all the salads the crispy pastry chicken pie, and for breakfast their panini toast is fresh and beautiful and my boyfriend is a fan of the bacon and eggs
Rosie Marks
Still undecided as to whether I like this place or not. Our first visit last wk was great, lovely vibe and friendly staff behind the counter. The coffee (as most have written) was a little bitter and the muffin we ordered was left in the oven a bit too long so the bottom was burnt (not very tasty!) on our second and third visit the coffee was ok but the gentleman that appears to be the owner is not the warmest person around. Also the staff need to agree on prices one day the coffee is $4 and the next day we were told the same coffee was $4.50!
Lala
Improve the service. The location is perfect and great for the locals who can walk there for coffee and food. The coffee is average and overpriced and breakfast is bland. The service really needs to improve, especially from the owner !<br/>Sayers and Cantina are still the favourites.

Best local find!. Having just bought in North Perth, I took a shortcut one day and noticed a little cafe... thought it would be a good close-by place to grab a coffee in the mornings (I am usually about closeness when needing the caffeine fix in the mornings!) <br/><br/>On visiting the Deli I was pleasantly surprised.. what a lovely, cosy little place. Nice seating outside in the sun and great for people watching - or more like dog-watching as we were left feeling inadequate by not owning a dog... Few tables and seats inside where it feels busy but relaxed as everyone quietly chats, reads the paper, sips a coffee or all three in perfect harmony. <br/><br/>Food was very comforting - not exciting or sexy but just what you want. I chose the bagel with delicious fetta, loaded with avocado, drizzled with lemon juice - just perfect. I could not ask for a better meal to start my day. My partner had as breakfast wrap - again delicious but more just what he wanted... He loves the old breakfast wrap and when combined with his favourite condiment(chutney that was served on the side) left him smiling contently. <br/><br/>We strolled home very happy with satisfied stomachs and planning our next breakfast there again soon.... Just need to find a dog to really fit in!

I want to like it but ... I really want to like this place quite simply because I use the park across the road heaps with my little one. But ... the coffee is consistently disappointing unfortunately. I've tried to request it weaker, full cream milk etc but still way too bitter tasting for me. My last visit I asked if they have hi lo and the lady said 'no only full cream or skim' and I said I've leave having a coffee. Other places I've asked have offered to mix full cream and skim. Admittedly I am fussy with my coffee but when you're paying high prices I do have high expectations. Their savoury muffins are a great size and consistently delicious. I haven't sampled any of the other foods quite simply because of the price. On saying this the place is always busy.

Hobart St Deli in Hobart St. Man of the house and I had lunch on a hot Friday. Avoided wobbly table next to door and sat at window seat - nice view of interior.<br/>Both chose Curried Egg Sandwiches on Brown bread with seeds. Delicious flavours, particularly with feta cheese. No cake today but have previously had Orange Almond Cake - not as great as Fez in Mt Lawley (the cake) but still a good taste. Coffee is good and buzzy atmosphere - many ladies "who lunch". This is our local cafe as we are Mt Hawthorn residents.

Nice atmosphere, poor everything else.. The atmosphere in this place is amazing. Who ever designed this shop knew what they are doing and their target demographic. Their was even a man painting a canvas in there! Kudos to you! <br/><br/>Then again.... their are some things that need a little work. When I asked the front of house staff what was a good feed, she was unable to tell me and just offered bacon and eggs. The food I eventually chose looked nice enough and tasted ok, but cost way more than it was worth. Quality ingredients are awesome, but if I wanted to pay restaurant prices, I would have gone to a restaurant.<br/><br/>The coffee I asked for was an espresso shot followed by a flat white after my meal. The espresso was very much over extracted (it filled the entire espresso cup) and hence tasted like burnt ash. From what I can gather the blend may be just very bitter, but the beans where obviously out of date. The flat white was much better and tasted fine, so maybe something just got confused down the line with my espresso.

You need to work out who you are, Hobart Deli. Located across the road from a very busy and popular fenced park, this neighbourhood eatery in a quiet back street of north Perth / Mount Hawthorn is a god send. right??<br/><br/>Well... Kinda. <br/><br/>But.. You kind of get the feeling they wish the mummy clientele would order take away and stay in the park.<br/><br/>The place is a contradiction in terms. Full of tonka trucks, children's books and other childish accouterments, this place screams out "we cater for children". Except that it doesn't.<br/><br/>The children's menu does not exist. Of you ask for simple cheese and tomato sandwich, at first you'll get told not possible, then a grudging yes, and after all that it may be on dark rye bread and take an eon to arrive by which time your little darling has trashed the joint, pissed off the snooty clientele and run onto the road to be flattened by an SUV.<br/><br/>So it's..... Ok. But stick to take away if you have normal children. And lower your expectations. It's not all that, despite what it thinks of itself.

Love the decor and the location. It reminds me of my old local back in Melbourne. The coffee is a bit hit and miss and they only serve one size fir takeaway coffees. I really really miss the granola with poached pears. I only got to have it twice before it wad taken off the menu, which is such a shame as it was one of my fave Perth food experiences after moving here 12 months ago. The savoury muffins are delish. The staff are very friendly with the exception of one man who seems a bit rushed sometimes. If it wasn't so pricey I'd go more often... But currently I go there 2 to 3 times a week either to eat or for takeaways.

Yep!. DEElicious caramelised onion tart, good coffee. really cool interior. will go again
Congratulations
Congrats. Am a regular at Hobart deli and bring friends and family alike. Food always perfect and fresh, fantastic different breakfast menu. Congratulations.

Tasteless and overpriced. Our meals were very average and bland not to mention overpriced, coffee tasted like dishwater will not be back!

GOOD COFFEE AND NICE VIBE. Sitting in the Hobart Deli, glimpsing the big perth sky from the windon and overlooking the neighborhood park, one finds a quintisential perth cafe. unitilising an old corner milk bar, Hobart Deli has done something every suburb should do...especially local places like Dianella that have nothing. the coffee is VERY good, the place is organised in a fun and friendly manner, and only if the prices were more reasonable, we'd move in! $18 for a little cereal and coffee. In any case, i can afford it and will be back. thank you.
Matt
Breakast and coffee was fairly good, waitress was friendly, but the older gentleman running the place really needs to get his head out of his behind. His not going to last long with that attitude. Especially given the location.
Spanna The Breakfast Snob
Willing to give this cute cafe another go but I wouldn't rush back. The breakfast bagels with fetta and avocado were good; however the homemade granola was disappointing. Advertised as coming with seasonal fruits (note plural), it came with poached pears which were very average and one very small strawberry. Very disappointing when the fruits in WA are so good at the moment. I do recommend the iced chai, a good addition to the menu.
Schtef
Mixed experience. The place seems to be more about fitting that "trendy" vibe rather than the food. <br/>Loved the decor and vibe and the coffee's not bad but the food was pretty average and definitely way overpriced. Service could also be friendlier as service is what makes the corner cafe special. I prefer TXTshots for friendly coffee or West End Deli for good cafe food anyday.
G&#039;day Pat
Great coffee. I like this place - great coffee and food - funky decor and location. Staff sometimes friendly, Ive seen them at times busy with their individual tasks and ignoring the customer waiting to be served if not at least greeted. Sometimes staff are welcoming and chatty where as other times they present as snooty. A great place but remember customer service is all about the little things - acknowledge customers as they enter your store, if u r busy, acknowledge to the customer that u c them, as the customer leaves thank them. Having said this some of the staff are on the money.<br/>Great Crema coffee

Top light lunches; brekkie not so flash. Lunches are great: highlights were original, flavoursome, refreshing salads and beautiful homemade pies. The choice of cakes & muffins is good. The hot chocolate is quality: velvety milk and chocolatey (a feat as so many are so weak and aneimic in flavour). Breakfast was a downer for us: poached eggs were cold and the toast was hardly toasted. Our friends enjoyed theirs though (scrambled eggs on rye).
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Hobart Deli looks pretty standard from the outside (besides the fantastic wall art on the side wall), but inside is another story. Comfy colourful cushioned chairs, shelves crammed with books and toy dump trucks feature as an art installation above the entrance. And the food…

On a relaxed Wednesday morning we made our way over the suburban hub that is Hobart Deli in North Perth. This cute little corner store is opposite a park and there was a stream of mothers and children between the cafe and the park. The inside of the cafe is that homely, quirky, child friendly sort that is pleasing to mothers and their children and the breakfast loving foodies who always seem to find themselves at places just like this.

Service was pretty standard. The cafe was busy, but it was hard to place a smile on anyone who really worked there that day. As boisterous as the customers were in Hobart Deli, the staff appeared to lack energy. The food came out at a good time though, which was a positive. I wasn’t particularly blown away by Hobart Deli’s food, but again it could be a case of choosing the right things and dining at the right time. The food is presented neatly and had decent flavours, but there wasn’t any real wow factor for me. Nevertheless, we left relatively full and made it a point to perhaps dine there in the future, sampling some different items for the next visit.

Decided to be abit adventurous with the bff in town and headed down to Hobart Deli on weekday morning. Parking is not too difficult and yet another lovely cafe nestled in suburbia. Truly the essence of Perth thus far. Family friendly and across from the kids park. Making sure you don't miss them! Not as spacious as Coode Street but still ample space to cater a nice weekend crowd including outside seats for amazing weather days. I like the decor on this, reminds me of The Block and their creativity. Open-concept kitchen is anot that pretty but has a charm about its own. Loving this mural outside so much! I ordered the veggo brekkie with a side of beetroot pesto. It was huge of course but healthy. It is nothing difficult to do but amazing in the morning for all that freshness. Love the little patty but wished it wasnt so burnt. The beetroot pesto is amazing! So worth ordering. it is refreshing and light and so healthy!

This was actually my first time at Hobart Deli. I find myself continually surprised by these random corner cafes in the suburbs. Hobart Deli was packed to the rafters on this Monday public holiday. I ordered the full vegetarian, which didn’t sound as fun as the full playground (the title for the meat-eaters option). I’m not vegetarian but I like vegetarian options at brunch.

Mum’s salad was also lovely. The potatos were baked with skin on and just lovely with greens with a light dressing.

Nevertheless, Hobart Deli was definitely a pleasant surprise. When A and I entered, we both mentioned how busy this little café was. There was a line of people ordering at the counter that seemed to be never ending. The guy behind the counter seemed a bit flustered by this but overall the wait-staff seemed to manage. It seems Hobart Deli is a very popular venue on weekdays â€" I couldn’t imagine it on the weekend! The venue is really quaint. It’s set in suburbia with a fenced park across the road. The café itself is an eclectic mix of things and there is a lot going on inside. There is a lovely display of baked goo

Hobart Deli is ensconced in a suburban pocket of North Perth across the road from a popular leafy fenced park, frequented by many a yummy-mummy mothers group. Nabbing a rock-star street-park out the front of the old neighbourhood deli, which has been converted into a funky local cafe, we bypassed the outside seating (good if you are a canine crazy) and stepped inside. The small yet bustling interior (with its roaring tak

I really enjoyed my breakfast. The runny centre of the egg was a delicious addition to the potato fritters. I did enjoy the fritters, especially with some of the beetroot pesto, but they were incredibly filling, particularly given the generous serve of haloumi throughout.
Thekitchencrusader
They have decent coffee and do the simple stuff really well, their big breakfast (called bratwurst playground) is reportedly tasty, though I've never had it. The french toast with coconut and marscarpone was pretty good...
Adrian
All the other elements in the meal helped give this dish a satisfying "full breakfast" feel, but with Hobart Deli's gourmet twist - the tomatoes were roasted, the mushrooms cooked ragu style, and a mildly seasoned potato rosti making the dish filled with great flavours for breakfast. At $24.90 though, the price might be a little steep for some.
The Breakfast Confidential
I suggested we check Hobart Deli. Located on a text book "North Perth" pretty tree lined street, this little gem . Offering a seasonal menu full of interesting choices, Hobart Deli is making an effort with produce where many don't. They even use freshly picked herbs from their own garden! There was a good variation of sweet and savoury as well as plenty for those who prefer to forgo meat. The prices peak at $24.90 for the "Full Playground" - bacon, herbed mushrooms, roast tomato, poached eggs, wilted spinach and a pork and fennel sausage. The vegetarian option ($21.90) replaces the sausage and bacon with a flavoursome zucchini and haloumi pattie.

Hobart Deli's Nathan Nairn does away with the usual array of boring breakfast menu items (here's looking at you Mr. Bacon and Mrs. Eggs), and replaces these with fresh and seasonal European inspired menu items. The December menu at my time of visit included dishes such as the 3 egg free range omelette with crab and dill , a homemade cornbread with smoked salmon , poached asparagus with lime and dill cream , and caramelised pineapple and raspberry trifle with yoghurt, coconut, and toasted pecans . Accompanying me for breakfast are King Baz and Jo. For myself I order an Open hot dog on rye with Elmar's bratwurst, caramelised onions, roast tomato + horseradish ( $18.90 ) and a long machiatto . King Baz orders a Breakfast wrap with bacon, fried eggs, fresh greens, roast tomato + pecorino ( $15.90 ) and a long machiatto. Jo orders the breakfast wrap too but no coffee. Orders are made at the counter, on a pay first, seat second basis. Firstly, the open hot dog. Here a
