My fav! Restaurant that served authentic Malaysian food. The chicken martabak is delicious and teh tarik is authentic. The staffs are friendly. The wait can be long sometimes on a busy night but definitely a place to visit if you crave for some Malay food fix. I will be back for more!

Were there early and ordered a noodle for my kid first, but it took over 20 min to arrive meanwhile there were only 2 tables arrived before us, my poor little one keep saying why so long and he's starving.

Food was generally ok, but nasi lemak which is suppose to be one of the signature isn't good, barely taste the coconut flavour in the rice, and very very fry chicken served on the side, it was a wing part with breast and deep fried for more than once or long so go figure how overcook is that. Butter chicken is flavourful, but again the chicken is way over cook/fried so it’s hard and barely taste the meat.

Juice is good, can't taste any sugar so that's a plus.

Do not expect an Aussie portion, it is truly Malaysian portion size.

What a yummy place for a feed! We tried the roti chanai, spring rolls, chicken satay, mee rebus, seafood mee goreng, nasi ayam and nasi lemak (marinated fried chicken). We enjoyed all the dishes but I have tried better nasi lemak dishes (not that it was not good). Too bad we were too full for dessert.

First time coming here for dinner & must say it was DELICIOUS!

We started off with the ROTI TELUR with onions an chilli. This was served with a side of fish curry it was super delicious and flavourful! The curry was perfect with a little spice kick at the end 😍 we wished we had more Roti because it was delicious

I had the Nasi Lemak and must say flavour was on point ❤️ the fragrance and taste was sensational! I will be back to try it with some add ons

We also ordered the Mee Rebus Johor and it was delicious ! It’s recurring but the food is delicious and overall flavoursome and generous portions and beautiful presentation!

I rated this place four stars simply because there was no sago gula Melaka by the time we were done so I will definitely be back to try more and will change my rating once I have tried my heart desired dessert ❤️

Went for the myrasa platter as we couldn’t decide what to have among the 2 of us. That gave us a taste of most things. Everything on the platter was delicious and tasted authentic. The roti canai was especially good. Friendly service too. They came and asked if we’d like more toppings for our ABC which I thought was really kind. Will definitely return to satisfy my Malaysian food cravings.

Easily the best Malaysian in Perth. Reluctant to write this as I don’t want the word to get out. Amazing roti and rendang. So much better than their competitors in a nearby suburb...

We came to this restaurant for the first time based on friend’s recommendation and we totally love the food here. We had the my rasa platter and the creamy butter chicken . Personally I really like the platter, it was a good way to try out a bit of everything of their menu. All the food was delicious and flavorsome. The only let down was the beef satay which the meat was very tough.
Service was good and affordable price. Would definitely come back again.

Small neighbourhood restaurant with very friendly service and good food. We had chicken rice, platter, and the apple salad. If you are like me who wants to try a bit of everything then definitely get the platter, tofu was crispy and beef was very tender. Apple salad was very refreshing, the sweet and sour sauce is similar to papaw salad from Thailand.

Authentic Malaysian, DELICIOUS! Came on a hot but quiet day and felt as if I was back in malaysia with the ambiance, sounds and smells. Being Johorean myself, I had to try their Mee Rebus Johor.

Although I’ve never had many Mee Rebus to compare with, this dish was great! The sauce was creamy and nutty. Although the dish had a lot more garnish that probably required, and possibly needs a little more noodles for the price, it was overall tasty and delicious. Paired with my three layered tea, the meal was perfect.

This place is a local gem. They decor is cosy and quite modern, service was good and attentive, food is better than some other Malaysian restaurants. Their roti canai has quite a bit of varieties and they do tastes excellent! My other favourite dishes are the nasi goreng kampung and char koay teow here. Have tried a few dishes and they didn’t disappoint.

Myrasa is all about taste or that's their slogan. The owner originating from KL steives to be different from the usual Malay fare with an extensive range of Malaysian drinks, a variety of roti options, even a tasting platter that includes dessert, some rice dishes, some curries and a few noodle dishes. All at affordable prices.

The thoughtful owner despite not having any laksa for my flu-some brought over some warm water for the table and served us some clear chicken soup.
The char kway teow with seafood option came at an affordable price of 15 bucks a plate with prawn crackers, some salad, tofu and prawns. Definitely tummy friendly.
The roti jalang was simple, flavorsome and tasted of home

Great service. Great value for money.

Ambience: bright, well lighted. Furniture not cluttered. Wash room on 1st floor via lift. Strictly no alcohol environment.
Cleanliness: clean place
Service: very friendly staff and excellent service.
Taste/variety: we tried satay, tahu sumbat , roti chennai, mee rebus, Rojak, Nasi lemak with extra side dishes rendang sotong, prawns, chicken & beef. Tahu sumbat, roti chennai with eggs and onions, and satay were delicious. Mee rebus Johor and rojak was a little too sweet. Nasi lemak was too pricey, not enough coconut milk lemak and lack pandan fragrance. Sambal sotong n prawns were delicious. We had chendol and it was yummy.

Pretty good local neighbourhood option. Really good service and tasty curries and noodles. Their fried chicken is pretty dry and make sure you specify you want dark meat when ordering the chicken rice otherwise you get a bland dry piece of white meat.

Nice ambience, excellent attentive service and outstanding Malaysian dishes with a Johor touch.
Lovely delicate flavours.  Everything about My Rasa is positive and it is not expensive. These people know how to run a restaurant. I would go back anytime. Highly recommended.

Visited again for evening meal. Superb food once again. Uncomfortable metal chairs give it a 4.9 this time around.

Finally made it here. Always a little weary that local restaurants won't last long, case in point, the French cafe that previously occupied the same space.
Arrived spot on twelve, by twelve twenty it was packed.
Been craving good nasi gorang for a while now, found what I wanted.
Satay sticks were a bit of a miss. Deserts, awesome.
Great service. Will return.

My Rasa, in food context literally translates to "my taste". The family owned restaurant, originated from Malaysia, is set to spread local delicacies in Perth. Roti, nasi lemak, laksa and satay just to name a few. I've personally been to this restaurant countless time and what I like about this place is that they never disappoint. Sure the guy may have asked me "Is this your first time here" every time I pay the bill but flavours and authenticity goes a long way in this humble abode. Another plus point is that once seated, they serve you a side of peanuts to munch on. Oh and just a little advice, if you're not a chili junkie, politely decline the request of having the stir fried noodles spicy. They are very generous with cili padi (bird's eye chili) and I almost killed my throat and tummy!

Their nasi lemak was delicious and so does the Chicken Rice. The mee rebus not to my liking. A bit too sweet for me. I know mee rebus should be sweet but unfortunately for my tastebud it was too sweet. Love their coconut crush. The owner and staffs are always friendly. A bit upmarket than your normal Malaysian restaurant.

Hubby's been wanting to try My Rasa for a while and we finally went there for lunch today. Venue was spacious and clean, a kids friendly restaurant. Owner(?) who I was talking to came from Ipoh, very friendly, so did other staffs. Food were outstanding and authentic Malaysian. I used to live in Malaysia for a while so I know. Roti Canai was soft and crispy, really good. It came with Dahl and Sambal. I loved the sambal and asked for more. Beef Murtabak got generous amount of meat and came with curry sauce and pickle, yumm. Teh Tarik wasn't too sweet, just nice. Last we had Pandan Pancakes. When it arrives, I was stunned for a while. They gave us 5 pancakes, very generous! Palm Sugar Syrup although sweet was perfect to compliment the pancakes. On top of pancakes there was a big blob of ice cream, oh my. Happy to find My Rasa. We'll go back there again for sure when Malaysian food craving kicking in!

At the corner of Welwyn and Bradshaw Crescent in Manning is the latest new restaurant serving Malaysian food. With the number of such establishments opening in Perth, this bodes well for fans of this style of cooking as well as nostalgic migrants or students (close proximity to Curtin University) alike, as they are genuinely spoilt for choice now. My older readers will remember a time where there were almost no such places in Perth in the 1990s if you had a craving for Roti Canai or Nasi Lemak. Our first dining in experience was right after work on a Friday and we were met by a nice waiter who promptly showed us to our seats, brought us our menus, a jug of cold water and a bowl of peanuts. This might worry some readers who may be allergic (why would you even temp fate by eating Malaysian food?) so I suggest you make mention of this before you sit down. This restaurant serves all types of food based on peanuts so you have been warned. Decor is clean, simple and neat with sufficient cooling in a warm day. Our dinner order consisted of a Roti Telur, a Mee Rebus and Teh Tarik to wash it all down. The Teh Tarik and Roti Telur were okay but not great. I prefer the Teh to be a little stronger and the Roti dough a little sweeter but the dhal was simply stupendous. Unfortunately, my wife's Mee Rebus took 15 minutes to arrive after my Roti and again this is an area that restaurants must learn to manage in terms of customer expectations. Communicate that it will take longer at the time of ordering and this then gives the customer options to go ahead or choose something that perhaps could be cooked quicker based on how hungry they are. If the kitchen is falling behind, then tell your customers and apologise. Communication can help to solve unhappiness among customers such as a hungry wife staring at her husband's food while it slowly got colder and colder (I gave up waiting and ate once it was past the ten minute mark). The Mee Rebus when it finally arrived was appreciated by my hungry wife who actually commented that the sauce was authentic and the different types of taufu (tofu) were a very nice touch to add different flavours to the dish. Our next trip was for breakfast and this time our orders arrived at the same time and included a huge serving of home cooked Nasi Lemak and Ayam Panggang. Note the sambal belachan and ikan bilis were just perfect here. Spicy and great crunch respectively. The large serving of rice made up for the fact that the Nasi is not as fragrant or "lemak" (fat) as their direct competitor but it still retains its authenticity. Chicken was not hot enough for my liking. Now the Mee Rojak was just awesome with its balanced taste of the cut vegetables, noodles and peanut sauce really bringing back some nostalgic flavours! Teh Tarik was okay but the freshly fried $2.50 large spring rolls and curry puffs (choice of chicken, beef or sardine) hot out of the oven were undeniably calling out for us to buy and try for afternoon tea and it was just perfect. Verdict? The food is above average overall and price is what you would expect eating out in Perth these days. With two visits under our belt, we certainly think this place is worth a visit. If the kitchen can deliver orders together in a timely manner, communicate delays quickly to customers, then MyRasa could be very good. #perthfoodreview

Great little cafe tucked in suburbia with tasty authentic Malaysian food and heaps of free parking available. I recommend the rendang nasi lemak for the fragrant coconut rice, rich rendang and the tasty nasi lemak chili. For those of you who are craving a faithful three layer tea, this one comes with real gula melaka. The roti chanai/prata is crispy yet still has that great stretchy texture, served with dhal and sambal. I'm so glad I've finally found somewhere in Perth and close to home to fix my prata withdrawals!

I was delighted to be invited to the beautiful My Rasa in South Perth. The invitation was extended by fellow food blogger Diary of Ange who had dined here before and recommended a blogger brunch at this beautiful location. The venue itself used to be a French inspired restaurant which closed and was revamped to become My Rasa. My Rasa is a Malaysian restaurant that opened on Christmas day to serve the hungry people of Perth and has been booming ever since. Having tasted so many dishes in this restaurant, I can understand why it was so busy on the particular Saturday morning we arrived.

Fresh, authentic Malaysian food packed with flavour and spice! I'm no Asian food expert but really loved all the dishes we tried! Beef Rendang was melt in your mouth and the flavour was intense, rich and so good! Chicken Rice was lovely and every element held its own. Roti Bread was homemade and fresh, loved it. This place has the most complex, flavourful, aromatic beef rendang ever. And the nasi lemak sambal is amazing. The staff were very friendly and attentive and they even gave us a free dessert to try (probably because I couldn't stop raving about everything). The only negative is that the pandan pancakes tasted weirdly chemical-y, it was really off-putting. Probably too much green food colouring? But that doesn't overshadow everything else. Definitely coming back here to try the breakfast food.

Argh. Step away for a while and lost the review. Grrr... ...

Ok, will try my best again.

Went to this place on a Sunday after having a hankering for Malaysian food based on friends recommendation. Hmm, so we rocked up (party of 8) at 1100. Restaurant has only three tables filled, good thing or bad thing?

Browsing through the menu, I had some misgivings as they had a mixture or Malaysian/Asian food and Western/Caucasian food. For me, whenever a restaurant attempts to do two totally different styles, it usually ends up with disastrous results.

Thankful, the rest of the group had a hankering for Malaysian food so we all chose from that menu except for one who dared to brave and try the Caucasian menu.

So this is what we had and the reviews of it

Roti Tissue x 2 - This is like roti prata only done very thinly like a tissue hence it's name. If done properly, it will be light and crispy and very delicate. Myrasa got it right. It is then drizzled with condensed milk. Both the Little Boss and my friend's younger daughter absolutely took to demolish it literally.

Mee Rebus x 2 - Yellow noodles in sweet potato gravy. A easy dish to make, a hard dish to perfect. Sweet potatoes needs to be mashed and blended in a fine puree with no fibers. Again, Myrasa got it right. This dish is also served with boiled egg, tofu and bee sprouts. Myrasa added their touch to it by adding in sliced beef. Mee Rebus is usually served as a vegetarian dish (Yes, I know. To some vegetarians, eggs do not constitute a vegetarian diet. But I am a carnivore, so if there is no meat, it is a vegetarian dish). I would say that this dish is the most authentic mee rebus we have ever had in Perth as the Big Boss, our friend's wife and our friend's grandmother all approved of it and declared it worthy of ordering another right there and then. This speaks volume from a collection worth of over 75 years of cooking experience.

Nasi lemak with fried chicken x 2 - Dish that consist of rice cooked in coconut milk, served with peanuts and anchovies, sliced cucumber and the ever essential chili sambal. What makes or breaks a nasi lemak is the amount of coconut milk used in cooking the rice. Most places that I have tried put in the coconut milk sparingly so you do not get the fragrance or the taste but just a tease. Myrasa cooks it like you are a family member, copious amounts of coconut milk but not overpowering. As soon as the dish is served, you can literally smell the coconut milk and taste it with each spoonful of rice. The other aspect of nasi lemak is the chili sambal. You can never have enough. Again, other places will give you the serve size of a 50 cent coin and you have to portion it out as you go. Myrasa again treats you like a family member and gives you a good amount (about a 5 dollar note folded in half). I had enough chili sambal for each spoonful of rice. So yes, this definitely gets my tick of approval.

Spaghetti Aligo Olio - Spaghetti done al dente in olive oil. I don't think there is enough olive oil in the dish. Again, Myrasa added their touch to this dish. For me, Aligo Olio is all about tasting the olive oil and garlic and smelling the aroma of the two. Myrasa however made it spicy which did not sit very well with my friend's older daughter as she does not take spicy food.

Teh tarik - Basically it's called pulled tea. This drink is usually served very sweet and even when I ordered mine to have reduced sugar, I still felt it was too sweet. Diabetics beware or just take more insulin if you have a craving for it.

So the food is wonderful, the taste is authentic (for the Malaysian aspect at least) and there is no wait time for getting a table. However there is a but... ... coming.

But be aware that the prices are a bit steep. For our group of 8, the total bill came up to about $175. Yes, this is something more along the lines of a dinner or a good serving of yum cha.

So what does this mean to me? I do totally agree that at this moment, I have not found a better place than Myrasa for Malaysian food but taking the prices into account, I will say that this is not a place that I will visit on a weekly/fortnightly basis but rather when I have an intense hankering for Malaysian food that I will will be fulfilled by Myrasa.

Authentic Malaysian cuisine. Reasonably large portions at a fair price. Friendly host and hostess. Well-spoken young wait staff, full of energy. Sober ambience. Swift service without major delay. Tables are rather small, so it will get crowded with drinks and dishes. Clean toilets on the first floor, which are accessible by lift. Sufficient parking behind the restaurant. We had a good gastronomic Sunday evening at this restaurant and will surely visit again.

Nice ambiance with lots of light through the floor to ceiling windows. The service was friendly but i wish we could order at the table even foor breakfast. The food was authentic Malay which is nice as its semes to be run by a Malay family. The noodle portion size for my Me Rebus could have been larger as i had to order a side order of rice to finish the gravy. Thr juices were fresh and we would go back.

Traditional Malay food in a clean bright environment. An upmarket version of Anything La Corner in east Vic Park - but not a lot more expensive. Very reasonably priced, tasty and as I said traditional. Ironically the only dish that we all agreed was not up to scratch was a Malay staple - chicken and beef satays. I forgot to mention - yes it's halal of course but I took a bottle of red only to find out that they do not have a BYO licence so it stayed in the bag :( Had a reasonable kopi-c kosong instead
