Review Chopsticks - Perth

Wenjie Wang
Heard good things about this place but we found it quite mediocre. The noodle soups we had were average, and the staffs totally forgot about our bean sprouts and mints. Because it’s my first time here I almost thought they serve pho without them.. The sour soup was just too sweet and not appetizing at all. The beef skewer was just ok.

Ordered some starter, main, drinks. Frist of all... ice coffee was just ice... really... Also as you can see from the picture, fried prawns were very oily and batters is too thick Beef dish with rice was only few pieces of beef and most of the was vegetables. Pho was alright. Service was okay Price :$$

Tried their shaking beef and it's succulent and tasty with lots of accompanying vegetables, although the amount of beef could be more for the dish. Their Pho Chopsticks is very similar to just their Special Pho in terms of taste.

Good fast service Inviting frontage and atmosphere Very popular and we were lucky to get a seat without a booking (so would recommend pre-booking) Menu layout is good as it has pics which is very helpful when there's lots to choose from. Between two we had stuffed chicken wings which were good and shared beef Pad Thai and Ha Noi style grilled fish. Fish is served on a sizzling plate on a bed of grilled leek and comes with a side of fresh vermicelli noodles, mint, fresh crisp lettuce cups and dressing. Super delicious, fresh, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Authentic and thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend and very reasonable prices. (Bar looked pretty well stocked too).

Massive portion sizes, service was good but not very friendly and the food/drinks were pretty satisfying. Pad Thai (in a Vietnamese restaurant so fair enough) wasn't the best. Needs to be salty, sweet and sour. Overall had a good time.

Had the pho and vietnamese pancake. Really generous portions and tasted delicious. We will return

Usually don't like Vietnamese food, but this restaurant exceeds all my expectations from beautifully designed interior, delicious food, sincere staff, and great presentation on plate. Would recommend to anyone.

We found this restaurant as we were looking for something that was open for dinner on Anzac day, there was no surcharge for a public holiday and actually got their 15% off special. We loved the food, I had a ginger, chilli chicken stifry and hubby had an awesome beef and pork chilli pho. The flavours were amazing with beautiful presentation! All of the other food coming out of the kitchen looked great and it was a very busy night for them but the staff were still friendly. I can't wait to return!!

The food was amazinggggggg We ordered the Xoi Chien for entreé and Bun Cha Ha Noi & Com Tam Chopsticks for the main. The taste was very unique and definitely the best vietnamese in town. The restaurant decor was very nice and the service was good too. This will be a regular place for us. Hehe

Fantastic flavours, lots of vegies, great service and huge portion sizes! I hope they get onto Uber Eats soon. Opening special: Get 20% off food in September and 10% off in October.

We had prawn salad and seafood fried noodles. All awesome! The portions looked so big, but we finished them easily because they were yummyyy. Would like to visit again soon!

The restaurant was pretty crowded when we visited on a Sat afternoon. Food was pretty good. Ordered traditional pancake for entree and it tasted weird to eat it by itself but taste so much better if it is dipped in sweet chilli. The pork pandan leaf wrap was the bomb and would definately re-order that on our next visit.

Their food are always up to the mark but the food waiting time would be vary. Some of our friends receive food when most people finish. Tried their rice, noodles (soup & dry) which are all delicious, never disappointed.

Went here on a recommendation by a Vietnamese friend. Nothing more convincing than a Vietnamese restaurant full of Vietnamese people!
We had Banh Xeo, Bun Rieu and Pho Dac Biet.
Large servings, ample ingredients and friendly service.
Flavoursome soup without overpowering the tastebuds.
Noodles were smooth and slurpy.
Packed on a Friday evening so food was a bit slow, but worth the wait.
We were too hungry so didn’t manage any photos.. next time!

Really good, have been twice and it’s the new favourite

Everything was delicious and the portions were enormous and the food was fresh and tasty . The service was friendly and quick . My new favourite Vietnamese restaurant

Love the shakey beef! This is my wife’s favourite restaurant. Fast service and quality is consistent.

My new go to restaurant. Portions are HUGE and tasty. Lots of seating and just look at that beef. It was so juicy and nicely seasoned. I'm literally salivating.
The bahnxeo was a bit disappointing and the raw beef in the pho was very cooked but other than that everything was great. The iced coffee was great too

Food was amazing , friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere 😃

Heard of this new restaurant for months now and finally had the chance to try it out. Will say that I wasn’t disappointed with what they had to offer.

The only downside for me was the parking, as there was none available on the street when I went. Ended up having to park a bit away and walked in.

From there, things only went up. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, they even shared their personal favourites which helped choosing the meal much easier. Once the meal came out I was in love. The chicken had a lovely grilled flavour to it whilst the rice was soft and springy. Have no complaints of the food at all.

Tasty Viet restaurant. This bbq pork of this combo is juicy and delicious! Reasonable price, casual dinning place and good service. Highly recommended!

I was very disappointed with my experience at Vietchopsticks.
I spent a few hours looking on line to selected an authentic tasting Vietnamese restaurant my foodie friends and I could luncheon at for my birthday.
I read the reviews and it ticked a few boxes including being a great space and nice staff which was correct but the food oh my, what a disappointment, what happened Vietchopsticks? Someone wrote a dish tasted like the one they ate in Saigon???
Combining that with the pretty pictures on the menu I though it was worth a try, although Ive always been weary of pretty pictures and I can say the dishes I was served didn't look much like the pictures (the meat portions were much much smaller) and had very little flavour.
The flavour in the food and its preparation was incredibly ordinary to me, it was good clean food but it reminded me of my first attempts at cooking Asian food, soggy noodles, dry tasteless meat, indistinguishable vegetable flavours...
Giving them the benefit of the doubt we ordered 4 dishes in total hoping each one would give us an Authentic Vietnamese food experience but after the fourth dish I could not convince my friends to stay, they were disappointed I was disappointed.
We normally eat for 2-3 hours for a birthday lunch and we had lots of money to spend but unfortunately they didn't have the goods on the day, we would of happily given them our money they were nice people.
We ended up going around the corner to another restaurant we all new well and ordered several more dishes to go with our wine and finish of the day...

Delicious Vietnamese food. Love the fresh spring rolls here. Big servings for reasonable price. Stewed beef brisket was good as well. Quick efficient service.
Ian
Good Vietnamese food. Staff are friendly helpful and responsive. I had the Broken rice special and it tasted very good with a nice presentation. The ice coffee was good but needs to be stronger. My sister had the Bun Bo Hue. She said it was one of the better ones she had.

Great looking venue and friendly customer service 🙌🏻 The food we ordered was delicious, nothing wrong at all, although I’ve had the same food for cheaper elsewhere. Weirdly love the cutlery here! Can pay by card (with a surcharge) & no split bill. 🛑

Lovely surroundings in a little paradise off Newcastle. Excellent food and service with enormous servings. Next time, no entree!!! Will definitely be back for more

Went out with a friend to have lunch at chopsticks Vietnam restaurant. We both thought the potions in here were huge and we couldn’t finish it. The foods were fresh and delicious

I ordered the BunCha and it tasted exactly like the one I had on Saigon. Everything was fresh and the portion was massive (no complaints there). Great service and the food didn’t take too long to come out. Will def def be returning!

As usual, I have asked for bean sprouts on the side of main dish ordered then very shortly it was served on the small dish with a piece of lemon and leafs that doesn't look fresh. That was total fine until I found there was food scraps that someone spitted out on that side dish. It was a very aweful experience.
Even the staff wasn't kind enough as she did take the dish away without having any words of sorry for the mistake. When paying for the lunch, the cashier didn't even mention about their mistake even though she already knew that thing happened to me.
Of course, the payment was successful. Thanks very much.

Worst experience ever.
Casual Dining
After being regulars of another Vietnamese restaurant in Northbridge we decided to give this one a try. We had the Pho Bo, Prawn Omelette, Bun Bo Hue, Shaking Beef, Rice paper Rolls and Deep Fried Spring Rolls which were all very, very good. The avocado milkshakes however were a bit disappointing and lacked avocado. Probably something to do with the price of them in the shops at the moment? Bill came to well under $100 which was great, especially considering how much the four of us ate! Will definitely be back next Sunday night!
Perth Critic
We had the rare beef pho, broken rice, durian and jack fruit smoothies. All very tasty, except jackfruit smoothie tastes a bit like flavouring only, no actual jackfruit added. Will return to try their extensive menu and service was good.

Never disappointed coming here, we've been a regular and keep finding out new awesome dishes.
Lemongrasss chicken is a favourite, shaking beef is great, Vietnamese pancake is yummy!
Their portion is huge! So satisfied with the food.
They also serve quite nice coffee - complimentary during lunch time.

Love this place, for a mid week "let's eat out" dinner.
Loads of variety, great flavours, generous servings and very reasonable prices.
Caters as well to groups as to individuals.
BYO with modest corkage.
What more could you ask for?

I went through a period where I came here every week or two. Each time I've gone the food has been consistent and the staff very helpful. Very spacious and would recommend.

So much variety here, one of the “prettier” Vietnamese restaurants in Perth. Lovely atmosphere and great food! Such a big menu selection of entrees and mains! Not just your usual pho and rice dishes you get at every other Vietnamese restaurant.

Highly NOT recommended! Had the worst dinning experience at this place. The food is average, however the manager's attitude was really bad. The waitress told us soft drinks were included in the lunch, when we went to pay for the bill, my two friends were charged for the soft drinks, however at the time when we ordered it, the waitress didn't tell us it was not included in the lunch. The manager refused to deduct the drinks from the bill even when the waitress admitted it her mistake, when I told the manager our dinning experience wasn't the best, her reply was "That's ok, everyone gets treated the same!" I asked for tax invoice, she told me the till is broken which was same excuse they had last time when I dinned there, with an accounting background, naturally I questioned how would they correctly report their revenue and pay the right amount of tax if they don't print receipts to customers, her reply was "That's OK!"If they are treating a returning customer in such way, I don't know how would they treat tourists or first time dinners. I hope people who visit Perth won't have a bad impression about Perth after visiting this restaurant.

UNHYGIENIC AND RUDE SERVICE!
DOES NOT DESERVE THE 1 STAR. I came here with my family for dinner and there was a tiny pebble in one of the dishes which my partner bit into. Asked the waitress to tell the chef and she came out saying it was rock sugar. Asked her to show us the pebble again and the waitress said they already threw it away. Asked her to bring rock sugar out to compare and show her the difference between rock candy and pebble and she said she's not sure and walked away. No apologies and didn't offer us any resolution. Shit service and not hygenic. Definitely will not be back ever again. DISGUSTED.

We were actually thinking of dim sum and had no idea the place had changed to Vietnamese. We decided to give it a go anyway. First impression is it's clean, tables weren't jammed up against each other and staff smiled...unlike most Asian restaurants! We ordered a pork noodle soup and broken rice, both were tasty but maybe not as strong flavoured as tra vinh. Still decent place, good for catching up with people and they had a few large tables too.

Love the location and the place itself. Very spacious and good ambience. As we have a toddler with pram so this place is excellent.
Not only the space but food is very good too! We ordered combination beef hofun soup and crispy chicken fried rice. Both are yum!! And the portion is giant! I was stunned when they placed the dish in front of me. It’s literally like the bowl and plate we use to share for a table of 10. Anyway, happy tummy. Will be back again.

We came here for lunch today and left very full and happy with our choice. We ordered fried rice which was delicious and crunchy. The pho and wonton soup were both flavoursome. The highlight was the rare beef salad. Packed full of goodness and flavour. Free coffee was offered (extra $1 for Vietnamese coffee) plus 10% off the bill as they’re still newly opened.
Will definitely be back!

First of all, the restaurant is very well decorated. All of the dishes, bowls, and chopsticks are very special and the chef impressed us with very beautiful dishes not only by display but the taste.

I ordered some fried rice and the rice is crunchy and delicious! The stir fried kailang is nice and well cook as well. The most impressive dish I need to go here and express my feeling is salted egg scallop! The cover of the scallop is so so yummy and the crispy noodle makes it even more special 🤤! My family also tried some sticky rice with duck and crazy chicken wings ! They are both amazing and I will definitely come back.

It is great to have discount and we were really happy !

Food was amazingly fresh and didn’t take long to come out. All very tasty food. Bonus free coffee to have or takeaway with a meal. And the tea pot kept getting refilled. Friendly staff, nice decor.
Will definitely come back!

Only criticisms- the shredded coconut squid rings were not rings at all and the coconut flavour was largely lacking. What was served was tasty but just disappointing. And whilst it didn’t actually affect or bother us- the meals came out in a funny order, some mains before entrees.
What an awesome place. While we haven’t tried the pho, we had other main dishes. The scallops were stunning as was the fried quail. The jellyfish is delightfully fresh and flavourful. The banh xeo (I think i spelled it right...) was beautiful - big serving and big flavours. Everything was super well balanced, and tasted awesome.

Service is friendly and helpful. Will be back soon! Good eats!
One Tonne Experience
People love pho, that’s why there is totalling nothing wrong when a new Vietnamese restaurant pops up.

Had a quickie here for lunch with a colleague and tried their Special Pho Chopsticks , a bit costly at $14 that has the beef stir fired with ginger and herb. I was happy overall, broth was sweet and tasty, beef with juicy and tender. Honestly have had better broths elsewhere.

Better than most places but if they want to compete with the likes of Tra Vinh, probably a bit bit more work required to compare it’s value.
