Review Chocolateria San Churro - Northbridge - Perth

Amanda Fourie
Really great place to grab a delicious cup of coffee or hot, chocolatey drink. Or any warm beverage really. Staff are great (really friendly), the atmosphere is really great. It's a well kept place with many delicious things!

Out of all the San Churros I've tried, this one is the best so far. Good portions for the price, especially the hot chocolates (options for lactose intolerance, gluten free and vegans!). If you're in northbridge, it's worth a visit. A nice hot chocolate, coffee or something a bit food naughty šŸ°ā˜•šŸ« caters for all!

Great food and service. Although there was only one staff, he was patient and friendly. Best chocolate cake and yummy churros.

Went there last night ordered churro for 2 and 1 cappuccino and 1 long black. Churro was extremely over cooked (crispy) and the coffees was super hot. Went to refills my chocolate dip hot charged $3 which probably cost the shop less than 5 cents. Never ever go back again no matter how desperate I'm for a coffee. šŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘Ž

I went today to get a mini tutti frutti snack pack before going to work. Got charged for regular size price instead but luckily i noticed it and got my change back. The order came out and i had to rush to work so i took it only to realized that they gave me a different order. I would suggest the staffs need more training in order not to all the orders confused.

What an amazing churros. I have been almost every san churros in perth. But here are just so awesome.

I enjoyed the churros. They were super crunchy, fresh and the chocolate sauce was mind blowing. The service was quick and staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the ambience too. Had a great evening with my family at San Churros. A big thumbs up.
L L
Ice Latte was nice and cold, two young gens that served me was polite and friendly.
Entry Enquiry
I received a free freshly made sun churro doughnut with strawberries and chocolate on the side. So filling and a little bit sickening. It was in cockburn shopping centre not northridge. They didn't have to but insisted.
Kristen Lim
The service was really slow and they are so understaffed. I could see my churros ready and sitting at the counter for easily almost ten mins. The staffs were also a little confused.
Sammie
Had the standard churros which was nice but the service from one of the ladies there was terrible. Hot chocolate was also nice. If only the service was a little better.

Came here for a treat after dinner on a Wednesday night, they were relatively busy and we had to wait a while for someone to take our order. We ordered churros for two. They ended up giving us the wrong dipping sauce so we have to wait again to get it swapped. Food was decent and consistent with other stores.

Nice choclate~ sweet sweet sweet, I have to get a cup of hot choclate every time when I walking pass their store. Their famous choclate is a must try thing on my list.

Came here for my free birthday churros just now. The cafe is crowded and we waited patiently for our table. The churros was good and I ll definately recommend ordering the caramel butter dip. After having a few churros, we needed water and there wasnt any cups available so we told the waitress and she said will get some out for us. We waited for another 20min and have to ask another waitress, and for that we waited another 20min. Lousy service and food is average. Not sure if I would come back again.

The perfect little family friendly hang out! Very filling and you do not need to order much. Great variety and they are always warm and fresh.

Giving this rating based solely on the customer service here . Came in for churros after a fringe show and asked if they were still open as it was getting late - we were assured they still were and to find a table. Ordered our churros and drinks (there were 7 of us), received everything pretty quickly & were happy enough at this stage. 15 minutes later a waitress comes over and loudly (& very rudely) announces to our table ā€œweā€™re closed!ā€ (literally does not say anything else), walks off and switches off all the lights while we are still sitting! We were all pretty shocked at how rude she was but got up and left straight away. I understand every place has a closing time but a simple ā€œhey guys, just letting you know we have to close up nowā€ goes down a lot nicer & is a lot more respectful to your customers. <br/>

Sign at the entrance says ā€œplease wait to be seatedā€ so I do. I see staff walking around me and past me and paying any attention. I wait patiently. For 20 minutes. Still nothing. They (the staff) see friends who are behind me and decide to catch up right in front of me. They finish their conversation and the staff member proceeds to ignore me further and go to the kitchen. Iā€™m not mad. Just felt ignored. So I left. <br/><br/>This should really never happen.

Been going here for years and does not disappoint. Love the mango smoothie during summer and the hot and cold in winter. Churros are always good if you can't decide what dessert you want.

Decent churros! Ordered that with an iced coffee (served with ice cream). Shop was nicely decorated with paintings. Service was quick. Overall a pleasant dessert experience.

Pictures do not make any justice at all to how amazing this place is! The vibe of the place, staff and not to forget the Churros with hazelnut sauce and the cake is to die for! Bible! A MUST EAT PLACE FOR ALL CHOCOLATE LOVERS! :) <br/><br/>
Ilovebeansprouts
The churros are excellent- served warm with a crunch on the outside and a bit chewy on the inside. Even the mini churros that came with our customised sundae was cooked very well! All time favourite dips are still the dark choc or milk choc. Having said that, the churros may occasionally miss the mark, especially when they get really busy. Not a fan of their chocolate drinks or cakes as most of them are sugar overkill. Funnel cakes are nice, our next favourite after their churros, but again, only if they are cooked well with a slight outer crunch. Staff are pleasant, but service can be slow when the crowd is in.

The worst coco drink i ever had in my life!!! Its sucks taste like shit and i can drink any coco taste in the drinks ... not sure are they using the real coco... <br/>and the Spanish dip is tooooooooo weird, i would never come to this again, money wasted totally

Rained all day long, have child, have to get out of the house. The answer? Coffee and churros! <br/>Shame the staff had to battle with a leaking roof (tarp awkwardly covering the register half the front counter) but these ladies looked stressed and did the best they could given the situation. Was a cosy respite from the cold wind outside, comfy cushions, friendly staff. Not sure if they're used to having many small customers though..? Surely, it just makes sense (to me) to bring out the kids size vanilla milkshake first, not 5 minutes after the adults coffees.. and the lack of coloring-in/books/toy basket was indeed a disappointment (maybe it's just a mum expectation?) Ordered shakes (hit that sweet spot with heaps of icecream) coffee (non-descript flavour, kinda bland) and churros with choc dip and $3 extra for strawberries and sliced banana. The prices were fair bordering on inflated with some items. Churros were crispy cinnamon coated deliciousness, choc dip uber decadent and plenty for all. Great arvo tea, if they lifted their coffee game a bit it would be excellent!

Tables not cleared, ones that were<br/>cleared had not been wiped down. part of the order was not provided, when it was asked for server was adamant that it had been given and was hesitant to provide it. coffee was good, the only positive. place is understaffed.

Not nice... chocolate drink over sweet, churrros taste so so,not dusted with icing sugar and not chewy at all... Leederville's branch did it far more better.<br/>But I can tell the staffs there were great, being polite and attentive.<br/>I've been to another outlets in east Victoria park and Leederville, both were doing good.
Hannah
Worst customer service I have ever received, after been given the wrong order - I was laughed at, told I was wrong and the order was not rectified. Will never visit here again.
Ronaldo
Note to management. 7pm visiting your Northbridge cafe. Like your product, like your casual atmosphere.<br/>However you are understaffed. Two young employees run off their feet, and I mean running from table to table to keep up. They seem to be handling the pressure well. But I bet inside they are fuming. Not comfortable for us patrons. Want to relax and enjoy. Not to experience long queues, stressed staff, long delays. Needs attention. <br/><br/>
Annie
Went Saturday at 4pm. Tables and floors were filthy. Had to ask several times to have table cleaned, then she just brushed dirt onto floor. Dirty dishes everywhere. El social card not scanning, no apologies; fondant not as per menu and minimal chocolate in bowl. Not a one off, service here is poor on a regular basis. Will go out of my way to go to Hilary's where service is superb. Emailed management, was told they'd discipline staff as they knew who it would be as they don't like cleaning tables, but no offers to woo us back.
Ryan
This San Churro is not up to what I'd expect from these franchises. Leederville and Hillarys have been better. The iced salted caramel shake was not salted and I don't even consider it caramel. The Churros were not dusted with icing sugar. The ice cream was very ordinary. The strawberry and cream ice cream has chocolate chips in it - off putting, barely tasted like strawberries. Otherwise the rest was as expected.

Quality of the actual food & drink is fairly similar across all San Churro franchises but this review is more around the cafe itself. We came here on a Saturday evening at around 7pm when it was bucketing down outside. It was reasonably busy due to this but nothing extraordinary. I was craving a hot and cold (hot chocolate with a scoop of ice cream in it). The place was a mess... Every table that was vacant still had the previous customers dishes on it. Sticky & messy is the best I can describe it. Floors were filthy & the staff didn't seem to care much.

Always a good default for sweets after a meal. I love their Spanish hot chocolate - it's rich, chocolatey and a good winter warmer. I reckon their churros are still one of the better ones in Perth because it's always consistent and I like the amount of crispy. This branch is always busy on a weekend so be prepared to wait. Their chocolate however is nothing too special, there's other chocolate cafes that are better.
Foodie In Paradise
This place has always been a good hang out place with friends after dinner. We came here last weekend night and it was busy as usual. <br/>We get seated fairly quickly and our dessert came promptly after there were ordered. I like how there always introduce more dessert toward their menu. <br/>We decided to try out the churros with the new choc- hazelnut dip. The churros were great as usual but the dip was a disappointment. I think the dip suppose to be more like a melted chocolate but our hazelnut dip was very hard, felt like they should have added some melted chocolate into it. <br/>My classic Spanish was rich and thick in texture as usual but my friend ordered the sugar free classic Spanish which turned out to be very watery and diluted. <br/>
LittleAsianGirl
This place a great for hang outs with friends. I always come here for the churros. The coffee isn't that great. The other hot drinks are really sweet for me.
Zee
The churros are TOO GOOD. Definitely recommend coming here if you have a sweet tooth. You get a choice of sauce as well for the churros and they're all super good.
Carol
Visit it about week ago.. Before that it was my favourite dessert place ever, but last visit makes me question about it.. Service was ok, just some of the products were missing and when tried to tell them no-one could of understand what we're saying.. But I guess mistakes happens right?
Rhirhilovesfood
My favourite San churros to visit when with a group of friends. Nice and friendly staff! I love purchasing macaroons for takeaway, a bit pricey, but delicious!
Annie Nguyen
Always busy, but staff are nice. The desserts and drinks never take too long to be served even when it's packed and I always leave happy and satisfied.
Bite Into It
This place is constantly busy, the service they provide is excellent. Staff are organised and v. friendly. <br/>I ordered the funnel cake and was only able to eat 1/4 of it as it was super sweet!
MF
I really love San Churro<br/>Especially the mocha - so good<br/>The churros are yummy too<br/>Pay at the counter<br/>Service is good here too
Tensai
The foods actually come out pretty quickly although the quality isn't really there. <br/><br/>However, drinks on the other hand... Is unacceptably slow. The latte we ordered took 35 min to get to the table when everyone has finished their foods n just waiting for their drinks. <br/><br/>Terrible place I will never come back again!
Kudokun
My favorite dessert place in WA! Friendly staffs with big sitting area allowing people to hangout, chitchats with an awesome cup of chocolate and churros of course! Never got bored with San Churro as every few months they always renew their menu bringing in new items! <br/>The latest addition to their menu (as of May 2016) is the $12.95 creme brulle with ice cream and 3 mini churros which I personally think is a good bargain! The creme brulle is super delicious (perfect crispiness on the outside and yummy creamy on the inside).<br/>They remove hot and cold though, although you can still ask for it - it's basically hot chocolate + $1.50 ice cream.. Probably slightly more expensive, but who cares, hot and cold is awesome!<br/>
Renato
Bustling and vibrant on a cold Saturday night, San churro was just the right thing after dinner. Great Churros and hot chocolate and the macarons were tasty too (but I've had much better).
Ines
Long time since I last went to a San churro place. Needless to say I haven't been disappointed. Hot chocolates are still incredibly tasty and well presented, they have extended their range of food as well so if you like sugar or chocolate this would definitely be the place for you ! I recommend the thick hot chocolate (not the one on display in my pic), however for some reason the people working there are quite rude and take a away the flavor of you savoring your treats in an enthusiastic environment. .
Emma
So I was basically wandering around to find a decent dessert place... And we found it! If you're a dessertaholic this is the place for you!! I had the milk chocolate drink with cream, easily the best hot chocolate I have ever had the delight. I also had the cream Catalan with cinnamon sprinkled churros and vanilla ice cream, Ooft it was delicious! The cream was fluffy with a burnt toffee crisp. Delicious! The only thing is the service could be a bit happier!

Have had the banana caramel cup a few times but this has got to be the worse San churros here in northbridge.. I won't say much about the staff as you can imagine what I would say.. Have a guess.. You know if you've been there. They don't know how to make anything.. The banana cup is usually beautiful and creamy with thick caramel. We got it with so much cream on top. Then the whole thing was runny and looked like there was milk in there. It's never been this bad unless it's a new way they make it. I wasn't going to say anything but I had to. They made us another one and it was worse.. Got our drink orders wrong too and while I got up three different people bought wrong drinks to our table.. Sad..
Martyna
Terrible service at the counter. Very unhelpful when we werent unable reedem the double your churros offer, we were told to email the head office even though the offer expires today. Ruined birthday surpise for a friend, wont be coming back here again

The death by chocolate cake slices are so much smaller than they used to be. I don't even get sick after a slice šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ Also, when I get a sundae the icecream is usually quite melted :(
MJ3000
Awful. Half an hour to be served and that was after having to ask to be served, coffee was bitter, chocolate was stale, table was wobbly, another 20 minutes in line to pay. Had walked out initially. Regret the decision to go back. Never again.
DianaW
Loved the wall art on the outside. This was what actually attracted me inside! No only kidding! Of course I cannot walk past anything to do with chocolate-who could!! This time it was the churros though. What sugary heaven these little delights are!

On the 3rd day, while walking back to Miss Maud Hotel after dining at Taj Mahal, as suggested by the friends, a comfort stop at this chocolate/dessert haven. Packed with customer the inside dining area, lucky we were for the just vacated empty table at the pavement. Menu came and two friends didn't mind standing in the long queue to order and they returned within 15 minutes with the items each opted for.
George
Always a safe bet going here <br/>It's yummy and is pretty filling <br/>Price isn't too bad<br/>Would recommend just sticking to the churros for bang for buck
Perth Foodaholic
Perth doesnā€™t have a great deal of dessert places that are open until late so itā€™s great that we have San Churros. Particularly Ā if we want something sweet other than ice cream. This place has all the naughty things in life: deep fried, sugar and chocolate. Goodbye diet. If you get a fresh batch of Churros generously covered in cinnamon sugar then itā€™s awesome. Ā Dip it into some chocolate (white, milk or dark) or dulche leche to take it to the next level. Itā€™s a ā€˜once in a while treatā€™ place. The strawberry bioche is delicious too ā€“ fresh strawberries, chocolate brownies and custard. Very rich desserts.

Being the greedy piggies that we areā€¦straight after our mega pig out at The Standard Bar, Htet, Miss Eat A Lot, The Food Forager and I ventured to San Churros to claim Miss Eat A Lotā€™s free birthday churros. If you sign up for San Churroā€™s mailing list youā€™ll be gifted a free churros for two (valued at $14.95) on your birthday! My birthday is just around the corner so I guess Iā€™ll be eating churros again very soon
Wulan Sucipto
Just like the one in Subiaco, they have a similar chic outlet as a standard of the franchise i think. Service is friendly. And again it's an option for a cuppa after dinner/lunch.
Kermit
Headed to this place to get my chocolate fix. It's always on the busy side here. I've tired so many of their desserts but always keep on coming back to their classic, churros and milk hot chocolate. Love the smell of freshly cooked churro. Hot chocolate is always rich and lush. It's like a love affair, you know it's bad- but keep coming back. Service is pretty good.

San Churros has always been a Northbridge night out staple. I was keen to try thr new funnel cake that they are advertising. Simply divine. A bit dry, and could benefit from a bit more chocolate sauce it was certainly very delicious. Although, I cant justify spending that much on a dessert that wasnt perfect again. Back to churros it is.
Michelle WA
After going over my order 3 times they still got it wrong so we were left with no food for some of our party. FFS it's not busy if the staff understanding of the English language was better perhaps they would not stuff up so much
Annette Evans
When I visit San Churro it's usually to have a hot chocolate after a meal out. Last night however my pal Scotty and I decided to lash out and have the churros with sauce ( only because we had an Entertainment book voucher with a buy one. get one free offer).<br/><br/>I've never been that enthused over the churros here - there are much better versions being offered around town these days, but it was cheap and it filled our need for something sweet after dinner. We ordered the caramel and the milk chocolate sauce so we could sample both. Sauces were fine, and the churros weren't bad. We know they are pretty much mass produced and designed to get the crowds in and out quickly, but we don't come here expecting 5 star dining.Ā <br/><br/>I had a peppermint tea and Scotty had a flat white. I love their hot chocolates but couldn't manage that on top of the churros. All in all, it was quick and cheap.
LittleGirlBigFood
The hot chocolate here is to die for. The Azteca with whipped cream is my nemesis. Everything here is yummy but yes the hot choc is the best!
LifestyleByLily
I freaked out a little after seeing a cockroach run up the wall which tainted my opinion but we moved table and still had our our ice cream and chocolate cake.

Perfect for this rainy weather! <br/>Our experience here was great. The place wasn't packed at all. It had a great atmosphere to the restaurant and was very clean and warm. Had a comfy spot in the corner on the bench lounge. The service was very friendly and quick. Our order came out altogether. One of the better San Churros we've dined at. Got our chocolate overload on! My favourite to order here is a Madrid Mocha and Chocolate Volcano cake. #DeathByChocolate for sure! šŸ‘

Worst San Churro restaurant in Perth by far! Staff are far more focused on getting you in and out of the restaurant as quick as possible rather than giving you an experience. This San Churro is also very stingy for example with there portion size they love to skimp on your dessert where ever they can! Also inconvenient to the customer they have a $10 minimum and my purchase was $9.95 you would think the 5 cents would not matter but no back to being stingy they want to charge 50 cent processing fee or make you purchase something else! Worst service and experience always at this San Churro!
Dale & Hannah
Always a great place to end your night after dinner in Northbridge. Though some of the desserts can be almost sickeningly sweet, it definitely satisfies that chocolate craving, and it's ok to indulge every now and then I guess.<br/><br/>I ordered the banana caramel cup and a chocolate covered strawberry thinking that having some fruit would make me feel less guilty (hah). The strawberry was surprisingly perfect, I expected it to be a little bit tart but it was nice and juicy. The banana caramel cup was the perfect combination of textures and flavours. Crunchy, soft, chewy. I'd get it again.<br/><br/>Dale ordered a salted caramel macaroon which was good, as macaroons usually are. His peanut butter melt hot chocolate was sickeningly sweet.<br/><br/>Service seemed a little bit hectic though.
Freya
When I walked in a worker who was concentrating on something else asked me "dine-in or takeaway?" I said "dine-in". She then said to pick wherever and so I did. I then noticed shortly after that she was seating subsequent people and giving them menus. I sat there for about 10 mins trying to get her attention. I got nothing, so I walked out. All other San Churros I've been to the menus are on the table and you pick your own seat and order at the counter. This was different, but did not work. Felt very unwelcome.
Frederick Wong
Food is always served so quickly, the amount of times I have been here whether it be a busy night or not, the quality of service is always impeccable. Quality of food is always amazing too! A nice place to come to with just your partner or with a group of friends to enjoy getting fat together :'D
Kirsty7
Ordered the fruit fondue & 2 hot drinks. Churros tasted like they had been cooked in old over used oil. Melted chocolate was cold. Fruit must have been cut up yesterday or the day before & stored in the fridge. Hot drinks arrived after we finished our fondue & 10 minutes before our movie was due to start I asked for some cold water to enable me to mix to skull my hot drink down and was directed to the self service water across the room. I didnt pay these prices to get no service. Plenty of cafes and dessert places around Northbridge so we wont be back.
Jazmine Hope-Scuderi
Attentive staff and quick service. Love the winter menu selection! I stuck with my favourite, strawberry bizcocho cup, and my partner enjoyed a berry & pomegranate smoothie.
Emz
Nicely made fresh churros best to savor when hot. But their chocolate drinks are a bit too heavy for my liking. And I must say they are not that strong on coffees too. <br/><br/>I enjoy going off peak days and hours. Nice decor as all San churros have.
Leah
Coffee was ok. Hot chocolate mess too sweet for me. Churros were not as good as I remember. Ehh. The Carmel sauce looked really strange like it had been squeezed out of a tube
Michelle
It's often very busy, and on a Friday or Saturday night you can be waiting a long time for takeaway. The staff are usually relatively friendly. The food and drinks are good; the same as all the other San Churros outlets. If you get a seat by the window, it's a good place for people-watching, if you're not too engrossed in your food or company.
ScottyH
Rubbish coffee - screaming children everywhere - not enough staff to cope for a Sunday night. <br/><br/>Churros were fine and the Mint Hot chocolate was good (incredibly rich). <br/><br/>Few more staff and better/more suited seating for family's would have helped immensely.
Lamb Pickles
Service is top notch here at times but I can understand during busy hours. The hot chocolate drinks are getting less chocolately or less "Spanish" - not that it is authentic, it's just that it isn't consistent for each time I have popped by there. And please, don't be stingy with marshmellows. Churros is good but the palova mess? So damn dry.
T
The best place to indulge. Love the churros. I think I could drink that white chocolate dipping sauce! I also like the iced chocolate.<br/>When I tried the cold hot chocolate I found it was pretty much a chocolate yogo in a cup and though it wasn't bad I probably wouldn't waste my money on that again.<br/>There are so many more things I must try! Can't wait to return.
Sakonata
The chocolate Vacano were really nice but the worst lemon lce tea ever!!!!!

This sanchurros is seriously lacking in service go freo instead. This san churros is seriously a shame for all the other branches. Vic park and freo are much more hospitable, note to owner train your staff not to treat their customers like fools as if we dont know how to read a menu Or have never been to other san churros in perth.<br/><br/>Also note that san churros north bridge is probably the stingiest in terms of portions when compared to the vic park and freo branches
Justin_4482
Worst San churro in perth. When ever we go to North bridge San churro, the service is always so bad, they never give you a good serving size for what you pay and they try to always allocate where they want you to sit not where you would like to sit! Think they need to change their tune as when they get some competition they have no chance!
Food 2 Run
Good churro bad service waited ages

Disgusting toilets. Went to this store yesterday to have some churros after Fringe festival show with my 4 year old. Churros were scrummy, but the toilets were appalling....smelly, toilet paper all over floor, sinks needed a scrub and awful drain smell. Will never go there again.
Traceymccosh
Needs a lesson in Customer service!. We went to San churros tonight after a movie and the service was terrible! Firstly we tried to sit on a couch and were told the area was closed as it was already cleaned. Wiping down tables after a customer uses them is hardly difficult. So we moved and one of us attempted to use the bathroom facilities and were told they were closed for the night and to use one across the street- there were still at least 40 people in the restaurant. <br/><br/>The staff on the floor were rude from the moment we walked in. Instead of good evening first comment was "How many people?", we felt unwelcome even though it was still open for another hour. <br/><br/>The worst part was at the end instead of the staff coming and telling the tables they were closing shortly they simply turned the lights off!!<br/><br/>It is not a place I would recommended or visit again.

Terrible experience !!!!! Food were not fresh and stale. Extremely disappointed with the food tonight. We order the Classic Fondue For Two and two items on the plate were really off. The brownie was so stale it was rock hard. I asked the waitress and she said it was from the freezer and she will warm it up for us. It was the same rock hard after she attempt to heat it up. At the end they have the decency to replace it with a new one. Then the pretzels were so stale it was soft and not crunchy at all. The quality of the food definitely not worth the price we have to pay.

Apalling service. My friend ordered a salted caramel milkshake that although came out fast, tasted like pure salt. Im quite lenient on taste, but this one was straight out unacceptable. So we tried asking a waitress if we could exchange it for another one and she said she'd talk to the manager. Never came back to give us an answer. Kept avoiding our table and walking away when we tried to ask again. We waited for a good 10 minutes before we asked for the manager. Manager explained that the drinks are prepackaged and no one has ever complained which shocked me. However the manager was polite and friendly. Ive always enjoyed the food at san churros but this experience may stop me from ever coming back.

Wake after funeral. 18 churros and 6 dip sauces for 20 troopers just come from a funeral. Every one low in sugar after mourning. Good sugar boost for $39.95. Really love the back room which allows 20 people to celebrate passing of a good person with chocolate. Groovy samba music for dancing.

Hit and Miss!. This place is a hit and miss from what I've experienced with my last few visits. Once we were there when it wasn't busy and service was good. But last couple Thursdays, we went there twice in one evening and experienced totally different service. First visit when the place wasn't busy early evening, service was attentive, order came within 10 mins and quality of our desserts and beverages were good. Second visit on the same evening about past 10pm, we weren't greeted by host who pretended that she didn't see us so we sat ourselves down. Other wait staff didn't even come to our table so we had to go over and asked for menu. Waited another 10 mins and no one came to take order but other customers who came later than us got taken their order first. We were pretty much invisible! We asked where is the toilet and was told that toilet was closed so we had to go over the public toilet opposite building instead. Waited another 10 mins and finally got wait staff attention and asked if she could take our order. Our order came late and was served in an abrupt manner while the churros tasted fat and oily, different than the first time. It's a shame as I do like their menu range but no matter how great the products are if the service is crap...that will effect me from coming back again!

Quick service, delicious churros. Visited San Churros Northbridge for the first time last week. For a Friday evening, it was quite busy however, service was quick. We ordered and our churros arrived within 10 minutes, and the quality of the churros was great. Will be back!

San Churros in Northbridge is always nice. I tried some of my mums sugar free Classic Spanish hot chocolate, you might want to take that off the menu because it was sweater than the normal Classic Spanish and no where near as rich and creamy. Their new Chocolate Volcano is delicious. Sorry another negative, if you need to use their toilets try to hold off, they're disgusting. Also we ate outside near the toilets, I do not recommend that - horrible smell. Other than those things the service is great and the sweets are delish.
Tttt
A bit overpriced for the churros. Drinks are a little too thick too. But I guess if you love chocolate a lot it's fine.
Roses And Tulips
Best place for hot chocolate. Fantastic hot chocolate!!We had the mint hot chocolate, the grand hot chocolate with marshmallows and the grand hot chocolate topped with chocolate biscuit...yummy..thick and rich..the churros were not bad. Really busy on a friday night.
Steve
Service is average and payment system is ridiculous. We had to join a long check-out line to pay. There were about 12 people ahead of me. I have never experienced anything like it and no one in the line could believe it either. I'm sorry but having just one person taking payments for a high turnover place of that size is simply taking advantage of your customers. Drinks were ok but there were only 2 of us and my wife got hers about 5 mins after mine. We are not going back.
CharlieB
Excellent service every time. The staff are always attentive and very friendly Especially Jessi and the owner! ^^

Recommended. Chocolateria San Churro's Northbridge has an amazing location, across the road from the City of Perth Parking (CPP) pedestrian entry/exit and next to a park, and offers many seating locations (standard tables, cozy wall seats and outdoor seating). I recommend buying a macaroon with your next visit.

Banana Chocolate Sundae. Get in and get one. Awesome. I do like their Mango Tango's as well. It can get crowded in here, we have been a few times. You'll be okay... go in...

Chocolate Heaven!. I took the kids here when we were on holidays over the Easter break and I have to say it was such a great place. As a chocolate lover this is a dream cafe for me and I'd highly recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth!

Great coffee and hot chocolate. Like the friendly service I get when I grab a coffee or hot chocolate while in Northbridge. their chocolate pieces are a great gift or a real nice treat if you have a sweet tooth.

Yuuuummm. Wow never heard of this outlet but what a great find. Perfect chocolate drinks cakes and churros. A very popular place had a little wait but well worth it. Will need to do some more exercise if you go too often. Definitely a great find.

Tasty. Love to indulge myself with a Spanish chocolate when my waistline can permit it. Reliable quality and decadent. Staff are generally friendly and the environment is pleasant can definitely recommend anyone who has a sweet tooth.Love to indulge myself with a spanish chocolate when my waistline can permit it. What started off as a perfect ending to a busy week ended up being rather disappointed. My friend and I have been planning to come here for awhile now when we arrived we were seated promptly service was fast efficient friendly helpful the food was fabtastic we were enjoying ourselves so much! We went up to pay and asked if we could split the bill n the Asian lady serving us just barked out "no can't do it!" My friend went to ask something else and the lady serving us just starts shaking her head at us... My friend was like u haven't even heard me out! N she said I know what u were going to say! And no u can't pay for individual items! Next time u should ask for seperate bills!!! " my friend then said we didn't know we were supposed to ask... Last time we came here we were offered! This lady refused to apologise to us! N kept arguing back n forth with my friend saying no next time u ask! Excuse me but we both work in hospitality and I have never spoken to a customer like that! Ur supposed to listen to the customer and apologise for the inconvenience! We are reasonable! We wouldn't mind being told in a polite way that it's not possible! No need for rudeness! I will be calling tomorrow to make a formal complaint!
Lillyslifestyle
Bad service. It is amazing how bad service can turn your day upside down, and how it can make a declious chocolate covered churro to taste like crap. I am always up for sweets but after my 2 times here, this is my "No go" list. Will not come here again even if my friends want me to.
Evelyn
Delicious~. The price is expensive but worth the taste. The waiting line is long, had to wait 30 minutes for my turn, busy day. I'd go back when it isn't so occupied.
Chelsea Yang
Have a coffee instead!. I don't like their chocolate - prefer any of the other chocolate places in Melb/Syd (esp Brunetti's!), but had a long macchiato today and it was so good!

Best San Churro ever! Muahhhh!
Nicholas Lim
This place is unacceptable in the way they treat their customers. Come here to play games of musical chairs if a bigger group of people walk in and they feel the need to maximise profit at the expense of customer service.
Felyzel
Usually a nice place to come to, to chill and relax with some chocolate indulging. But we ordered the new fondu and were disappointed with the fact that the fondu was cold and not given the chance to even reheat. Would recommend this place as long as you don't order the fondu expecting 'theobrama-style' fondu.

A huge thank you to all the staffs in San churros northbridge for delivering exceptional good service. What a night it has been when a couple of my friends and I were catching up in northbridge over dinner when we realise we were being stalked by a guy. Without thinking much we just went in to San churros thinking we could get rid of him but mannnnn this dude is persistent. We spoke to one of the waitresses there and she was a little shocked herself but at the same time reassured us that we will be fine. ( I swear she's the most happy go lucky waitress ever. Always so smiley and keep us updated on the situation. Wonder if she ever has a bad day in her life lol) Anyway, long story short , the manager call the cops and escorted us to the car. I was really amazed with the remarkable service we're getting. Worthy of referral and good reviews. Thank you and will definitely be back!

Love this place! They have the best staff there and the manager Fred is also amazing!!!! :) <br/><br/>We (group of 4 girls) were having a really bad night, being stalked by some random person and came in San churros because we knew it was a safe place to hide and we were right! The staff were all so nice to us and made sure the stalker was kept outside! The cops were called because the stalker didnt want to leave and the manager, Fred, was so nice and walked us to our car even though the shop was busy! <br/><br/>Again, a big thank you to the staff! You guys are great! This is the place to go to if you are looking for a nice spot to chill, have some yummy churros, and be served by some great people :)
Monks
Never a bad coffee from this place. Thanks guys keep up the good work!

Sweet Teeth Beware. This place is a diets worst nightmare, a pms'ers best friend. lol...<br/><br/>I love the sugar fix I get here... Its so hard to resist just buying one thing but I always regret ordering my staple "Hot and Cold" AND a sweet dish too (even if I share it)... My three favourites are:<br/><br/>Hot and Cold - a delicous thick, almost custard like consistency hot chocolate with a scoop of white ice cream. The ice cream really makes this drink amazing! Without it, its just not the same!<br/><br/>Banana Caramel Cup - A glass cup filled with sliced bananas, caramel, mini churros, milk chocolate and cream. Delicious bursts of everything yummy!<br/><br/>Churros - It should be illegal to order these without a pot of caramel and milk chocolate.<br/><br/>This place is always packed but the service is generally pretty quick and the staff are on to it! Feels quite crammed in though and loud when the room is full of people. But if your after chocolately goodness the sardine can feeling you get disappears once the plate OR cup of heaven arrives at your table!

A sweet tooth's sactuary... There are no words to describe San Churro's..except the word, heaven! I particularly love this establishment in Northbridge as it is located next to my favorite restaurant (Outback Jacks) and what perfect way to end the evening than to get a hot chocolate and churro's night cap before heading off home. My favourite beverage has to be the couverture milk chocolate, it is simply amazing! It tastes like pure melted chocolate, very filling I must say! And what better accompaniment then the churros for two with milk chocolate dipping sauce! The churro's are crunchy and sweet with that amazing cinnamon sugar dusting. The service is always great at the Northbridge location, and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for my food, and no more than 5 minutes when Im ordering take-away. San Churro's is always packed out so the staff are always on their toes and rushing around everywhere to try and give the customers great service, but always seem to have time to give me a smile. That's great service. Will definitely be coming to this San Churro's for many many years to come :)
Mike
I have been here in the late night. The desserts are awesome but quite slow

A positive experience. Not being a fan of sweets or crowds, San Churro Northbridge would seem like the last place I'd decide to catch up with a friend with on a late Tuesday evening. However with many competing cafƩs stopping service at 9pm, our choices were limited, and it turned out to be a positive experience after all.<br/><br/>We were greeted kindly and only two tables in the entire cafƩ were unoccupied when we arrived. The place was buzzing as it usually does on the instances I've walked by. The coffee was reasonable and the 11pm closing time was appreciated, allowing us to continue chatting and linger on when nearby competitors were long closed.<br/><br/>The best part was the service that we received on the night in particular. Though all staff that we encountered were quite pleasant, the two girls working the tables were especially welcoming. This was a pleasant surprise as I have received less than average service at other San Churro branches. Therefore overall though not entirely a great fan of sweets I would certainly return based on above factors.
Sonia
We are still waiting on our order after 25 minutes, all we ordered were three cold drinks and there is only one other table occupied in the whole restaurant. The girl who seated us had no sense of urgency and the people who ordered take away have got their orders first (since its takeaway) however they came in 15 mins after us and the store is pretty much empty. A smile from the servers would be nice. Needs some improving.
The Non Existent Diet
Delicious!. Iā€™ve been to this chocolate establishment more times that I can count and what I always love about it is that San Churros (no matter what suburb your in) always open late ā€“ perfect for that freezing cold night that beckons for a hot chocolate fix. After a weekday dinner, my friend and I decide to go there for dessert. The first thing you notice about this San Churros is that it is always packed to the brim with people. Its always loud and bustling, to the point of being invasive, but I suppose that is due to its central location. <br/><br/>One thing I like about the Northbridge San Churros is the table service it provides. Our table is served after a 5 minute wait (which was surprisingly quick considering how chock-a-block the place was). We order a skim milk hot chocolate and a fruit fondue that come out relatively quickly. <br/><br/>The fruit fondue comes out with a bunch of serviettes (good for the clumsy folk) stashed in the fondue set and two prongs. I go for the dark chocolate fondue and it comes served with 6 pieces of the ever reliable churros (a tad bigger than kid size) which are always fried to a golden crispiness and are dusted with a generous amount of icing sugar. The fruits include generous amounts of just ripe strawberry, banana and pineapple. The freshness of the fruit complimented well with the richness of the chocolate and the crunchy, deep-fried goodness of the churros. My only complaint was that there wasnā€™t enough chocolate fondue ā€“ I think the fondue bowl was just less than a third filled up, which was also observed by my friend.<br/><br/>I love how San Churros is always updating their menu according to seasonal changes ā€“ I think its added at least 8 new menu items within the past 6 months. An improvement from the same standard dishes they were providing throughout the first couple of years it has existed in Perth. The quality of their churros is always fantastic and the service was pretty speedy too. One of my favourite dessert places. <br/><br/>Eight and a Half out of Ten Chocolate Churro Fondues.

After a beautiful day of catching up on my old residense northbridge and Vic park ( now a east perth gal) I could not of asked for a better ending..most amazing hot chochie I have gad in a long time..amazing customer service and the dipping chocolate is DEVINE.
Tiffany
Late night out. Dropped by for a late night snack last week after co-hosting an event nearby with my uni mates. Churros fresh and yummy as always. Tried the smoothie for the first time and it was good.
Kirsty Wroot
Chocolate McDonald's. I have been to the San churros in subiaco and it was quite good, I love chocolateso I have given the one in northbridge three attempts but it seems, basically, like an over priced fast food establishment. The only reaso. They have so many returning customers is that there is a gap in the market for dessert restaurants in Perth. We have been twice and had out food brought over longer than ten minutes before our drinks which is not good. Timing is basic when the majority of food is clearly frozen or ore prepared. We have had to ask every time to have the table wiped , and the first time a girl actually used someone's old tissue to wipe the table not a clean cloth. What sort of place is this? Theywere rude when we asked on our last visit to have everything come to the table at once, saying ' we will try' to be honest churros for one and two milkshakes does not seem that difficult to time to me. The staff are minimum effort and I will not be going back.
Benjamin Johnson
Been here a few times, dessert is always good, but the service is always poor (incredibly slow) even on a non busy day. I don't know if they are always under staffed or they just don't look around the restaurant to see if anyone is there! I return as the food is worth the wait!
Coffee101
Too much expectation?. I've been to this San Churros a few times, service is great. Coffee however, I believe needs a bit more improvement. There has been plenty of times when I order a soy latte and receive half a glass of milk and the other half of froth. I mean froth is good, for a capp. When I order a latte, I expect less froth than a capp. Due to the bad experience with the coffee there, I usually stick to Green Tea or an affogato whenever I go now. Other than that, it is located at a convienient place, and the service is consistent. Try the strawberry bizcocho, they're to die for!
Katta
Bad service, complete lack of interest in patrons comfort. The first time I went in with friends I was chased thru the store by staff as I headed to the toilet by a screeching staff member demanding my table number. Who then opened the toilet door to the cubical I was in before I could snib it with my skirts up still screeching demanding I tell her my table number.<br/>Last night I was unwittingly talked into going back with friends, the store toilets were locked for the whole 2 hours we were there. We were told we had to go across the road in the sleating rain to the car park toilets "but don't worry" the staff member told me "they're very clean for public toilets." All 12 members of our party were forced across the road when ever we felt the need to relieve ourselves. <br/>The macaroons are stale and just taste like sugar. The hot chocs leave little to be desired. I will be going to koko black from now on.
NKJessy
Terrible. You can hardly taste the cinnamon sugar on the churros. To make matters worse there was a cat screaming supposedly singing. <br/>Fremantle shop is much better
Lee
Coffee. Great place to visit for late night coffee/after dinner indulgent treat :) Food and coffee is always yummy and the place always seems busy. My only bad comment would be that it can get very crammed inside and the seating is arranged that you can feel squashed up to the table next to yours. Not the place to go if you want some privacy :) Also, service could be improved on at times! Bit of a hit and miss with this.
Chewie
Not bad. I went here last month....not very happy with the service. usual no smiles and attitude like im bothering them. i think the nicer i act the worse service i get..really! apart from that nice mocca and food. but bad service is really annoying!
Macfish Notes
Like the idea of this whole franchise but I wish they had the two Spanish churro options on offer ā€” the thin, knotted one and the long, thick one sometimes filled with caramel or chocolate ā€” both really decadent.
Terrine De Lapin
Like the coffee at San Churro. The beans have a more robust flavour which I'm told is apparently how the Spanish like it but its nice to be different.
Darren
Mixed. Overall, I like this place. The majority of my visits have been pleasant.<br/>There has been one instance where I wasn't happy with the service.<br/>I went in and ordered a sundae to share; the waitress asked if we would like to add strawberries to it, to which we agreed.<br/>When we got the bill, we were a little surprised to see a $3 charge for basically 2 strawberries added to the mix, especially when the waitress made no mention of the charge, and the menu above the counter had no indication of this.<br/>Not that I minded the cost, more the lack of transparency.<br/>Like the Subiaco branch, this place suffers from a chronic lack of space if you choose to stay inside. Out the back is better.
Mystery Diner
Relatively new & packed!. Went there on a Friday night around 8pm and the place was quite packed. We didnt wait long to be seated and the waitress was polite & quick to take order. I had the hazzlenut hot chic which was tasted great in the first few sips, then get too sweet after that. The seats/tables are quite close to each other so you cant really have any private conversation. I had previously tried the churos there as well but was not impressed. We then have queued up to pay. I do find this system quite odd and prefer to pay when order. Service was good though.
Luc
I've been to nearly all the San Churros in Perth now, and this is by far the worst of them -which hurts me to say, as the others (especially Fremantle) are great-. Had the Banana Sunday; consisting of a tiny scoop of ice cream that had majority melted by the time it arrived at the table, maybe a tea spoon of chocolate drizzled on it and a bit of banana. <br/>Also had a Choco Loco Milkshake; that was thin and tasted like it was watered down from the tap, it was barely cold which makes me question if there was any ice cream in it to begin with.<br/>The service was almost nonexistent as we seated ourselves, and then when they took the order it was rude and abrupt.
Cactus
Went with a friend for the first time. Ordered strawberries and chocolate, tiramisu, cold hot chocolate and truffles. Needless to say we were struggling to eat it all. Awesome cold hot choc, it was like drinking chocolate soup! Setting was clean and service was polite.
Alina Alexandra
Amazing food!. This is by far my favourite place to hang out - food is outstanding and super yummy, service is great and the atmosphere is fantastic. I'm a regular!!!
Simon
I would say tonight the portions are a good 40 % less than the last time I was here a month ago!!!, very disappointing, I am trying to get far here
Quintessential
The name says it all; San Churro is only good for their chocolate and churros. Had their San Churro Sundae and it was horrible! For a dessert lover, that was the worst sundae I ever had in my life.
Laura
By far the worst customer service out of any San Churro! The waitresses had no idea what was going on and the staff were beyond rude!
Perthluckystar
Busy little place on a Friday night! Went with a group of friends and were seated out back as the inside was packed. It was nice to start off, then they cranked up the music and we couldn't hear each other talk, which was disappointing. The coffee and churros were very nice however. I had a flat white with churros for one, being minus my partner for the night. The coffee was well made, not too strong or bitter, with well steamed milk and a nice crema. My churros were a bit cool by the time they came, but they were crispy outside and soft and delicious inside. But at least mine came promptly! My friends had almost finished their coffees when they realized they never got their churros. In summary, love the food, but I'd suggest avoiding peak time visits.
Jenna Pike
White hot chocolate is to die for!!!
Lulupepas
Great place. Love the desserts and the atmosphere! The waitresses are fantastic too! The place is conveniently situated across the carpark and the chocolateria is the biggest in perth. A great place to go in Northbridge!
Hardrockcafe
Had a hot milk chocolate 2 months ago, and it tasted like a hot choc should. Went there tonight and the hot "milk" chocolate was all milk and the texture was very diluted with no chocolate texture. The colour looked discoloured from too much milk. Told the waitress it was not right, then she told me I may have wanted the Spanish choc?!? She took the drink away and I'm assuming she added more chocolate into it?!? Really inconsistent drinks...... Disappointed!
KittyCat
Favourite Haunt. Been to this place so many times and it never disappoints. I always come here, even though the Hillary's one is closer by half. It's that much better. Many brownie points for service, since the staff are always friendly and the food comes out promptly, even when it's busy.<br/><br/>Onto the food:<br/>I'm not a big fan of the spanish hot chocolate so I can't comment on those coz I've never tried one, but the coffee here is really, really good. You even get an orgasmic choccie to go with it :)<br/><br/>If you're an ice-cream addict like me then you really need to try their sundaes. THEY ARE AMAZING.<br/><br/>Churros always come out warm and crispy. Can't go wrong.
Jackielyc
Best San Churro's I've been too. Awesome service, awesome food and awesome free tastings on the way in :)
Mandy
Unpleasant. I went there a couple of times. The first time was probably a week or two after their grand opening (the boss was around). The staff was very attentive and recommended us the cold hot chocolate. We enjoyed that very much. We visited again a few mths later. Everything has changed..when we walked in, we were like invisible..took us a while to be seated...(boss wasn't ard anymore, and not many customers at that time!) We wanted to order sth, couple of staff walked passed us, didn't ask wat we would like to order...we needed to raise our voice and call them out...wat the....=.=''' fine, I thought they were probably too 'busy'...so kinda ignored their attitude..<br/>I ordered a cup of hot choc..MAN! It's burnt burnt burnt! SO BAD! I had a sip and that's it! I couldn't take it anymore..it's so bitter! seriously I don't understand why this shop can get 80%++....
Phoebs
This is the only place, among all the restaurants and cafe, that REFUSE to serve free water. My boyfriend was just asking for a glass of tape water, and to our amazement that the only way you can drink water in this place, is to buy it in bottle. I'm not even sure if that's league. They first told me there's no tape, that's clearly a lie as I could see it from where I was sitting. Then the manager came out, told me tape water is not good for me, so they don't serve it. Thanks doctor! I think that's my decision you make not yours! And what about water filters! I will never ever go to this place again . I can tolerate slow service, orders being messed up, and noisy surroundings. But I value my right of having drinking water without having to pay for it, thank you very much. I certainly wouldn't let these profit hungry money chasers take it away . There're plenty of San churros around if I want the hot chocolate. Plenty lovely quiet place I can go to hang out.
Angelsentosa
Best hot chocolate!. Very thick and rich. best drink in winter time..
Jae N
Have been there lots of times and slowly working my way through their dessert menu! Standouts so far are the lime brƻlƩe tart and the strawberry bizcocho! :D
Jake Oh
Great place to hang out and hide from the cold.. San Churro Northbridge has always been a favorite amongst friends. The service was great and the food came surprisingly fast even when the cafe was packed to the max. Tried out the Choc Banana Sundae for the first time, LOVED it. Gonna go back for more choco indulgence soon haha!
Mikey Nguyen
Best Churros. Best churros in Perth. Great place to chill with friends and enjoy some tasty chocolaty desert. Always happy to stop by after a night out. Missing out if you have not tried this place yet.
MCHill
Never Again. Went in last night for churros after dinner, when out churros arrived we found glass in one of the dipping sauces. We took it back and showed the waiter and then sat at our table waiting for someone to come over and apologise or acknowledge it. No one came over and when we went to leave and pay for the coffee I let the cashier know that there was glass in the dipping sauce and he seemed very confused as to why I bought that to his attention and we still had to pay for it.
Annaliese Hutchison
Was not very busy at 10.30pm, took four requests for water & most had finished food by then. Food came out in dribs & drabs over 20mins despite all ordering together. Churros were cold & chocolate barely melted. Very disappointing.
Ashleigh Byrne
Has a nice atmosphere to it, everyone's happy and chatting to each other. Feels kind of fancy the way the waiters take your order; gives it that expensive feel, but the actual cost isn't too harsh on your wallet.
Sound
Great service. The service was pretty good considering at the time I went with friends it was hectic and they were very VERY under staffed with only 3 wait staff, including barista, that seemed to be working, the waiter was very friendly and prompt, we received our drinks and food quickly as well, we were very happy. It was just unfortunate that they were under staffed, the experience would have been a bit better.
LittleMiss
Nothing special but good hangout place for families. Average tiramisu cake, hit n miss service but nice interior. One thing is that female toilets are incredibly disgusting and totally ruined my impression of the place as I went to the bathroom before getting dessert. I don't know how they let it get that way but I'd get H&S checks on that...
Alexielle
Tiny slice of cheesecake. I am so disappointed with the size of the cheesecake. I went there 2 weeks ago and it was fine. I had a decent portion of cheesecake for the price I paid. Today, I came by to have a cheesecake take away and discovered at home that there was no plastic spoon nor napkin and ... What a surprise when I opened the big box to see a tiny slice of cheesecake! I expected a slice that would at least fill the box not a slice which was 1/6 of the box!! I can't tell how disappointed I was. <br/><br/>I will never go to the Northbridge store anymore.
Setiawan25
Awesome dessert place. One of the best place to visit if you guys in northbridge. the chocolate is very yum and second to none. its real spanish chocolate...dont go anywhere else. the staff are great and helpful, the shop is designed well too...will definitely come back again..
Believeinyourself
Great Spanish hot chocolate and this is open late every night! However their cakes aren't the best and also Koko Black offers much better selection of truffles and cakes
Leanne Pollard
Service perfect ,coffee even more perfect. Love this place for coffee, lunch . always fresh. always good coffee. always good service.

With out a doubt the best coffee in WA Star coffee maker (barista) is Jessica
Paul
Inconsistent. Sometimes its great..others quite bland. One day cappucino comes with chocolate flakes and the next...none. still the location is good and the staff freindly

San Churro!!!!!!!!!!!. This is a great place for you and your friends/loved ones. It was my first time and the food/beverages tasted like heaven. i would never get tired of the food and the drinks served here. This place has great customer service, friendly staff, mouth-watering food and drinks that melt your tongues. I would recommend anyone with a liking to the chocolate taste. I would give this store 5 STARS rating<br/><br/>:DDD

U gotta luv the San Churros in Northbridge!!!! It's soo good!!!! The staff r great & its so chilled back:)
Maurice Albertson
Great place!! Has a wonderful atmosphere, staff are friendly, coffee is good, churros, chocolate and cake are amazing! Love chilling out at this place, lots of space not squishy like the other San churros places. Two thumbs up plus an erection.
Dru
Be Careful With Comments!. Be careful when making comments about this place. I was there yesterday and couldn't buy a piece of cake as their eftpos minimum is $10 and the slice of cake was $9. <br/><br/>I posted on their Facebook page and got a barrage of responses from their employees, family and friends. Rude as! <br/><br/>And now I've started getting personal friend requests from them at my Facebook page. All very weird! Stalker much??<br/><br/>See photo for the responses so far...

Chocolate and Churros. Great place to go on a Friday night with friends. The churros and white hot chocolate were delicious. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Would definitely go back again.

SAN CHURROS NORTHBRIDGE. It is a good place to hang out with friends and havin a late talk, since this place is comfortable. I had the banana milk chocolate last time and it was very good and tasty. Hazelnut hot chocolate was my favourite too. After all, it is a good place to chill and spend your time with friend or family
Whinger
Awesome. This place is totally awesome!<br/><br/>Do know why there are so many freakin HATERS out there!!! I can't believe people are so harsh! People think they have a clue when it comes to running a business. Humans work at these places... and humans make mistakes at times... especially when its so busy!!!<br/><br/>The best drinks is by far the hot and cold. That is all.
Hees
Burn coffee. Juz dining in at San Churro northbridge... Coffee that been served was burn.. Horrible taste.. never wan to let the asian guy make my coffee anymore... LOL
Stuart Harrison
Worked a Treat. Dropped into San Churro's after watching a movie on Sunday night. The place was abuzz - very busy. We were greeted with a smile, seated, order taken and served promptly. Our chocolate fondue selection for two was delicious, the coffees were superb and the staff friendly and very efficient. If you fancy a treat, they work a treat! A great finish to the day.

Not so good. Late Friday night. Had the ice cream and caramel. The waitress couldn't care less. Set the ice cream just beyond my reach on the table. And the dish itself was insipid at best. Notice the 2 women at the table next to me had their coffee drinks replaced twice. But it's Perth, and they'll make all the money they want whether there's good service or not.
Jellybelly
Fantastic service, great food. I don't know what all the negative reviews are about!! staff are so friendly, food came very quickly, service was top notch and both choc and coffee was to die for. this is by far the best san churros in WA, it's spacious, well fitted, love the back part (great for chilling out).<br/><br/>so totally coming back.
Lisa Fini
Excellent Service. Coffee was fine. Churros ok ( only other time I have had it was at Movida which is in its own class), however the waiter who served us was fantastic. Would go again just for the service.
Hazel Wilson
Chocolate Delight. Ice cream sundae is the bomb! Best Ice cream ever! Add a passionfruit cheesecake with white chocolate dip and everything is complete!
Geoff Parnell
Dissapointing. Have been a fan of San Churro but the first visit to the Nothbridge resturant was very, very dissapointing. Staff did not know what they were doing and were disinterested.<br/>WQuality of the food was poor. Deserts were luke warm. Not good for a cold desert.<br/>Would recomend the Subiaco or Fremantle franchise stores if you want to have a good churro with good service as this one is well below standard and not worth wasting your money at.
Daryl Mather
Fantastic, great idea and great Churros.
Justin
As a chocoholic to chocolate,i give my thumbs up to San churro! The staff are awesome and friendly and i love the churros very much.
Foodie123
Tik tok tik tok.... The great service was let down by the waiting time for my order felt like forever becuase it was forever. waited over an hour for my food.
Brad Anon
Worst San Churros I've ever been to. I was almost pinching myself in store because I could not believe such poor customer service existed in reality. It's not hard.. Be polite and take the order. Sort yourselves out guys.
Audrey
Not worth it! COMPOUND CHOCOLATE!. Heard lots of great things about it so was looking forward to coming. It was very disappointing. Very overpriced and average quality. Some Friendly staff, but some not particularly friendly.<br/>My white chocolate, passion fruit cake was alright, but not worth the purchase.<br/>The signature churros were tasteless and the chocolate dip was COMPOUND! The churros were very oily and fast food like and I have no desire to return.
Chrystal Chee
Worst service ever. A girlfriend and I went for a coffee last Wednesday evening. Our order was incorrectly taken and after receiving the wrong drink, our waitress disappeared only to return 15 minutes later to inform us that "because the drink had already been made, we weren't able to change it."<br/><br/>We explained that we hadn't ordered that item to begin with and off she went again for another 20 mins. Finally, we gave up waiting and went to the counter to pay for my coffee alone and explained the situation. We were rudely asked "when did we try to change the order?" to which we responded that we didn't, we only wanted what we ordered initially! An extremely rude barista was called over, demanded the $4.50 for my coffee with no apology for the mistake whatsoever and stormed off. <br/><br/>It is unbelievable that service this bad still exists, especially to patrons who are not being especially demanding or rude and it's a pity for the franchise as the service at the other San Churro's I've been to have been fine. I won't be back to the Northbridge one.

Good value, surprised at the bad reviews. I'm always a fan of San Churro, and while the charging for water at the Northbridge outlet is very irritating (they claim it's something about water quality, pfft) and they're often very busy, their drinks and churros are as reliably good as any of their other outlets. I go to this one all the time and never have any reason to complain.

Off milk? All I know is my partner spent that whole night in the bathroom after having an iced coffee from this place. <br/><br/>When I walked into this establishment I was greeted by a very rude waitress, when we made our order she had such bad English I was unable to confirm the order to her, so I just nodded away. <br/><br/>I ordered a parfait (it came in a tall glass - the online menu it's supposed to be a dessert! In a bowl!!! Looking like an ice cream parfait! NOT A MILKSHAKE!) We ordered some mixed churros fondue plate. The churros were not up to standard. Under cooked is how I would describe them. And when they brought the drinks to the table they just chucked them on the table not telling us what it was, leaving the 7 of us playing guessing games! Even my parfait was considered a drink... <br/><br/>I have been to the Subiaco and Leederville San Churros. Their service is so much better, I don't recommend going to the northbridge one unless its a last resort.

Poor food and worse service. Churros were cold and stale, hazelnut dipping sauce was still hard (not heated at all). Waitress had suggested we also have strawberries which we agreed to and then she forgot them. When we queried these she said she had left them off the order so we couldn't have them anymore and the guy at the counter must have been smoking something cause he couldn't care less when we complained. I will never go back!

Mixed feelings. Likes: <br/><br/>Great food and drinks as always. I ordered the Choc Marquise cake and it was delicious!<br/>There are a lot of tables and lounges and room to move!!<br/><br/>Dislikes:<br/><br/>The staff were not "urgent" enough. There were dirty tables and they made mistakes with our orders.<br/><br/>Overall:<br/><br/>I enjoyed my overall experience at San Churros Northbridge. I just think that the staff have some room for improvement.

Great chill out place. Hence this place has only been there for 2-3 months i think it's great, I love the food, drinks especially churros and the devine atmosphere. I think we should give the people a break there if you didn't notice, it's unbelievably busy there and I'm sure the service will definitely improve because I've already seen improvement. Everyone should be treated equally, if your looking for some serious dose of professionalism give it a few more months i mean it hasn't even being half a year and this place is being so damn harshly criticised
Pris
They charge you for water. I find it ridiculous to get charged for water at a chocolate bar where your customers pay a lot for designer chocolate products that makes them thirsty. <br/><br/>Other branches don't do this (?) correct me if I'm wrong. But then I'll be heading to other branches instead.

Good service, delicious food, this is a great place to eat before going out on a saturday night. Great atmosphere and friend stuff, had a great time.
Love San Churro
Highly recommended! The biggest San Churro in Perth with table service!!! The staff are friendly and great!!The ambience in courtyard is fantastic! Bring your friends and family!! And the churros... Yummm!! Need i say more???

I had the misfortune of dining at this cafe this evening. When we walked in, I asked if we could sit outside. We were told no in an abrupt manner by thw waitress, who said this area was reserved for the night time only. Given the beautiful weather we are blessed with in Perth, I thought this a huge shame. We sat down and ordered the churros for two with extra strawberries and two coffees. Our bill was handed to us before we received our food, which I found strange. When our order arrived, we were given 6 quarter pieces of strawberries charged at the price of $3. Now I know restaurants have to make a profit, but $3 for one and a half strawberries in total seemed a bit much. While we were eating, a waitress walled around with chocolates on a tray. "Goody" I thought, always happy at the prospect of free chocolate. I couldn't quite understand what she was saying due to her English being so bad, but as I reached for one, saying thank you, she snapped at me that they were two dollars fifty each. She continued to interrupt our conversation twice further, trying to sell us food like a street hawker. When another waitress walked past I asked for some tap water and was told that they don't have it at the cafe. The table next to us sat down and the waitress was again like a street hawker, telling them to order chocolate covered strawberries. When the girl looked undecided she said "I show you" and ran back with one saying "two dollar fifity. How many you want? Only two dollar fifity, very cheap" When we stood up to leave, two waitresses hovered around us and practically escorted us to the till, presumably to ensure we were actually going to pay. Apparently we were at the wrong end of the till because we got snapped at "other side" Don't waste your time or money going here, go to the one in subiaco instead. I would rather go without than go here again and I will be writing a letter of complaint to the company

I'd go back.. Went there tonight and had the most gorgeous chocolate and hazelnut triangle cake with melted choc dipping sauce. It was absolutely faultless. However they forgot our coffee and I thought the coffee was a bit weak. Staff were very friendly and appologetic, but annoying to have the cake 10mins before the coffee. The cake was so good that I would go back and with dessert that good, I can put up with them forgetting coffee!

Not that great. Kudos for being one of the few cafes open late on week nights however the food is not so great. I ordered a tasting plate for two; the salty caramel popcorn was stuck together, the pretzels were stale and the brownies were pretty average to say the least.<br/><br/>The drinks were OK, the chocolate and banana shake was really tasty and the service staff were attentive. This seems to be hit and miss depending on how busy the cafe is.

Hit N Miss. Disappointed with San Churro in general. Brownies and Bizchurco taste suspisciously like bland Betty Croker packet mix..... :-(

Nice place for a late night chocolate hit. Likes: Heaps of seating including a little courtyard area at the back. <br/>Friendly prompt service<br/>Banana lambada chocolate shake was delish<br/>Being one of the few cafes in Perth open late at night<br/>Dislikes: Not as cosy and warm as some of the other san churro cafes, however it had so much more seating and later opening hours that I would probably come here before I ventured out to the leederville store
KD
Hilariously bad service. I go here quite often and the service is always pretty poor, but it never really bothers me as the food is great.<br/>I assume the staff are all new and that is why they forget orders/ take the wrong order / take forever to serve you / contradict themselves / incorrectly correct the pronunciation of spanish menu items etc.<br/><br/>It adds to the experience though right?

The best coffee and hot chocolate in town. Hit melody up for a great latte.

There was a mistake in our order - we order churros for two with milk chocolate but received one milk and one dark dipping pot - but this was happily rectified immediately. Apart from this small error, the service was friendly and attentive. I was also very happy that they were open at 1am, so we were able to enjoy a treat with friends after seeing a show at The Court.

Worst hot choc! I've been here 4 times now as I live in the area and am a Couveture milk hot choc fan. Every time it's been off-tasting, twice my order has been mistaken. Pick up your game!!
Food Auditor
Undecided.... You want to like it for the chocolate delights, but then again you want to dislike because of the people who walk through the door (especially on a Friday night). We went in on a Friday night during opening week, and the service was muddled. I ordered a hazelnut shake (it was devine), except when it arrived it was in a takeaway cup. Also, there is only one register, so be warned you might have to wait in line for a while and some people cut in. All in all, the food/drinks are good, but the location may not be the greatest.

Fantastic. What a great night. We had dinner at Valentino which was pretty special, then decided to try something new and spent 3 hours talking and drinking the best chocolate ever. Northbridge has got it together.
Josh
Worst San Churro in Perth. Poor service, cold "hot" chocolates, mistaken orders 3/3 visits, drive to subi San Churro instead
Kelly
Good food but rather poor service even on a quiet night.

Who can say no to chocolate? Certainly not me! We were strolling around Northbridge when I gave into my chocolate cravingā€¦. If you are a chocoholic like me, this is the perfect place!

Low in blood sugar. Need energy ...Try the 18 churros sand 6 dipping sauce for $39.95 ...The hot chocolate and chocolate milk shakes pepped everyone up.

Each time I visit I like to peruse the menu and dream about the food coma on which I am about to embark, but I always end up choosing the same dish because I know it never fails me.

The Chocolateria is in an amazing location in Perth ā€“ right in the heart of Northbridge ā€“ corner of James and Lake Street. And it is right next to the Northbridge Piazza, the grassy square where they show bean bag movies during summer (and winter).

With my first experiences of San Churros, they were very hit and miss. At times they are heaven on a stick, other times they really need to change the oil, and sometimes they just need to change the fryer. As in like, the person doing the frying. (Not that I am a good fryer at all!) so just to be sure, I'm not being all stuck up or assume any (if any) superior cooking skillz.<br/><br/>
Queen Of Bad Timing
Decadence. That's all I can think when I make reference to the phenomenally delicious offerings that come forth from Chocolateria San Churro. And why wouldn't I think such a thing. This chain of dessert bars is one that has been sprung forth on the premise of Spanish roots and chocolate appreciation. It's offerings are rich and warm and coat your heart silkily while appealing to your soul.Ā  When you go to San Churros (as the locals affectionately refer to it), you're engulfed by greed if you're anything like me. I am literally unable to decide when I scan the extensive menu before me; my eyes bugging wide while I excitedly stare down the display cases nearby that are loaded up with macarons, truffles and all other types of chocolate goods.Ā  On this occasion, Jeremy and I have been stuffing our faces nearby at La Cholita and have decided to walk off our poochy bellies, only to be drawn in to the warm glow of this giant version of the other San Churros in Perth. We obviously left feeling

I need to give you a word of warning before you commence reading this post. If you are even just half the chocoholic that I am, some of the following images may cause a rapid heart rate, salivation and excitement.

The cold chocolate was rich, creamy and chocolatey, and it had a big scoop of white-chocolate ice cream plopped on top.

New to the San Churros and part of the 2013 Summer Menu is the Chocolate Fudge Sundae, the ultimate 1990ā€²s dessert when at the time in Perth the only dessert cafes Ā around was Baskin Robbins and Gelares! We certainly areĀ spoiltĀ here in Perth, just look at all the yummy choices! Ā  Northbridge San Churros is right next door to the popularĀ  Northbridge Piazza in the heart of the nightlife district, it is a big cafe with a lively atmosphere to match, an alternative setting to the cosy and intimate Subiaco store. Open to 1:00 am on the weekends makes this a an ideal place to stop by after dinner, a theatre show or movie. Ā  Ā  The Chocolate Fudge Sundae was served in a tall glass and filled with layers of cold creamy vanilla ice cream, real chocolate sauce, whipped cream and diced peanuts. It is a classical dessert that always pleases and a befitting choiceĀ to share between two, that is if you can share! Ā  Of course, no visit to San Churros is complete without having the sugar powdered twiste

After an especially lovely evening at El Compa in Northbridge, B and I decided to make a quick stop at the Northbridge outlet of Chocolateria San Churros. This was the first outlet that offered table service, which was a lovely aspect of this outlet. We sat down at the last available table in the very busy store and it wasnā€™t long before we were greeted by a waitress. We ordered a hot chocolate to share as well as a serving of churros. We were once again impressed with the hot chocolate and churros and left with a very satisfied smile on our faces.

Lovely Spanish doughnuts, although, tasted a bit different to what I remember them. Nonetheless, they went down nicely with all the delicious chocolate sauce. A bit pricey at $7.95 though, is the perfect serving size. A chocolate loverā€™s dream! Just watch out that you donā€™t spill any chocolate sauce over yourself.

...we were served the ultimate in San Churro, the Spanish Hot chocolate, full of flavor, thick, rich and unmercifully wicked. I think I experienced ā€˜death by chocolateā€™ in its full sense that night!
