Overall a nice hotel restaurant with quality food and service. It was a late Saturday night with just a few table of customer. We had a pumpkin soup to start and it was one of the best pumpkin soup we had. Silky smooth and rich in flavour, with a hint of spices. Although the butter come with the bread was melted in the package, we asked the waiter to change straight away. It's a open kitchen, the chef immediately alerted that he put the butter bowl near the warm serving bench so he took the bowl away to elsewhere. The barramundi is pan fried perfectly with crispy skin, seasoning well too. The beef brisket is not the best part of cut to me as it's too meaty, not much tendon and fat. As a result it was a bit dry and chewy.
Diana. We were staying at Mantra on Hay & were fortunate enough to have the buffet breakfast included. I have to say it was one of the better buffets we have had mainly due to the food being hot. Also there was a great sweet collection, just loved the fact they included friands. Oh & their smoothies were great also the bircher muslei
Gorgeous tasting food that is presented extremely well. A relaxed atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff which is surprisingly hard to find! Definitely on my favourite restaurant list now. Highly recommended
Thumbs Up. We dined here last Saturday and I thoroughly enjoyed my Salmon with Zucchini "noodle" , Potato Croquette in a pool of fish or seafood stock. For some, the salmon might be considered overcooked by I like my salmon well-done, with crispy skin. My partner had the Rabbit Orechiette and liked it too. For dessert we had the profiterole...nice and generous! 4 profiteroles for $9 and doused with chocolate sauce.
I would certainly return! Friendly service too.
Went for lunch. When for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Ordered sat talking, staff came to offer apology re time take (hadn't been that long) 5 mins later staff offered complimentary drink for each dinner due to "long wait". Food arrived 10 mins later. All good.
Tortilla. Loads of healthy options. Was pleasantly surprised at the gluten free options available. Had the tortilla for lunch. Great service, will return.
Best Panini in Town. Yummy and delicious food. Staff is excellent and always smiling. Good food and value for money
Amazing. We went for drinks on friday. They had really good deals on drinks from 5-7. Would definately reccommend for after work drinks or catch up.
A little pricy for the size of the meals. I had duck which was very nice though a small portion on a large plate. I did like that I could choose a side that I wanted. The prawns for the starter were very good to taste though lacked finish / presentation on a small tile with no garnish or life. The service was good, a friendly waitress who knew the menu well helped us and our cocktails were great. Over all I would come back as the food tasted good, though would like to see better value for the meal portions.
Good food, great service. We visited this place on Easter Saturday and we booked Good Friday after plans were screwed up. When we booked the staff requested our email address and forwarded their menu.
On arrival as a group of 12 including 2 children and a wheelchair the staff allowed up enough time to browse the menu for drinks before returning to take our orders and didn't hover.
Once orders were taken it was a fair wait for the food but this allowed everyone's meal to arrive at the same time and allowed us all to pass judgement on our choices.
The serves are generous and all arrived hot.
Crisp pork belly & scallops on aubergine puree, English spinach & quince aioli 35
Salt water barramundi with aromatic spices on green zucchini spaghetti & romesco sauce 36
Roast spatchcock with lemon & thyme on a tomato, zucchini & eggplant compote 35
Porcini mushroom & toasted pinenut risotto finished with mascarpone cream & truffle oil 35
Tasmanian salmon on crushed minted peas, salmon caviar & hollandaise sauce 36
Much discussion was had concerning the combinations of the dishes and the one that surprised everyone was the salmon with crushed mint peas. It worked very well and opened the palate to different flavours with the freshness of the mint and slight saltiness of the caviar.
Everyone involved agreed that this was a restaurant we could happily return and enjoy a leisurely meal.
