Review Malaysian Dining Delights - Perth

Steph T
The place is busy as always so make sure to book beforehand. We were a party of 5 and ordered their nasi lemak, kerabu fish and salted egg chicken. The portions were quite reasonable so the 3 dishes were enough for all of us. We especially enjoyed the chicken curry in the nasi lemak, very tender and flavourful. The kerabu fish and salted egg chicken were normal.
Denise (Dee)
The food is ok. I really don't don't understand why it's so busy tho as there's heaps of other malaysian restaurants that r similar or better tasting. Maybe cos it's quite spacious.
Fiona Yee (Tiggi)
This place is so busy on a Saturday night. We were there 6:30pm, table reserved, it was already full house. Best to book one to two weeks in advance. The staff can be so busy they don’t take calls during dinner trade. I used WhatsApp chat to book the table. Good was great and good value. Definitely will be a place to dine again for my next outing. Fast service. Clean washrooms.
Natasha Tjandra
We ordered the Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab and it was really tasty! Quite busy restaurant and would recommend to make a reservation.
Martin Chung
Wonderful service and food, has a great amount of different foods which are all worth trying. Good presentation of all the food, great to visit with family, friends and even by yourself. Big variety of food.
Niran Wick
Nice restaurant with some authentic food and flavours. Can get a little pricey and over crowded at times
The HoneymoonLusters
One of our favourite Malaysian restaurants, we normally takeaway from them fairly often. The food is authentic, full of flavour and comforting for when we miss Malaysia. These guys moved from their Manning location to Parkwood. Their new restaurant is renovated and has more seating available. Malaysian Dining Delight is popular, so it’s best to always make a booking in advance. We arrived at the restaurant at 11.45am on a Saturday without a reservation. They were fully booked for lunch…however, the staff member at the counter was nice enough to fit us in since we were able to finish our food fast :) .

Added photos of fried ocean fish with sauce, fried prawns with butter, fried 4 seasons vege with sambal and fried broccoli with mushrooms.(2021-08) Unbelievable! The cost was very reasonable for 6 good and tasty dishes, and good enough for 8 persons. We ordered the two beef dishes with special 'medium rare' for both fried beef and curry beef, and they were excellent. No corkage fee for BYO wine. Good service, cosy aircon, and free car parking bays. Booking a day in advance is highly recommended for either lunch or dinner so that there will be no disappointment. Go for it mate! Cheers! (2021-07)

The service is ridiculous we waited an hour before any food came out the fried chicken taste worst than KFC in malaysia these dishes take 5 to 10 mins to cook max get more organised or pick up the pace im suprised you guys still have customers with the rate of service.
Eva Tam
Ordered seafood kueh teow with egg sauce to take away... noodle not even 1/3 of round takeaway container..!!! Ridiculous..!! Apparently that is normal qty after i called to give feedback.... normal qty maybe for a mouse...
Darren Woulfe
Great prices. Good selection. Food came out very quick seeing the place was packed. Will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Most people comment on how good the food is. Beyond the great taste and flavours, the price is fantastic. Individual meals for under $10 and main meals to share are mostly between $15-$20.

I love the food here. Especially going in a large group so you get to taste lots of different things. The delight yesterday was the fish with ginger. Fragrant, delicate and lots of veggies. Going with Malaysians who know what to order also helps!
Sanjana Ghani
I love all the dishes I had so far. The tastes are amazing. Specially their Salted chicken fried rice & Assam Gulai King Prawn are one of the bests.
Mazni Mazz
I just love all d food that has been served for us during the dinner especially the crispy prown and the taufoo was fantastic...

Great food. I eat out most days and I come often but sometimes I just can't get a table! oh well better luck another day!!

I will never step back in to this restaurant anymore. I had the worst customer service in history. The waitress name Chee, not only she was rude to me, but she in turn yelled me back in Mandarin: " I should not had take your plates then if I knew you will going to complain against me." What kind of attitude is that for her to be in a customer oriented service? She was not only rude at the start, she was being discriminated against me just because I'm Asian and provides better service to Caucasian customers at that time. Why bother going into a restaurant whom their waitress have no respect for their customers especially regular customers like me? I would rate 0 star for their appalling customer service!! Seriously, with your shitty waitress, you should never be in a hospitality industry at the first place!

Stepped foot in this restaurant for the first time ever only to have my experience be such a bad one. I went up to the counter as I wanted to order take away. I was in the queue behind a lady who was already paying. After she had paid I went next and mentioned that I wanted to place an order. The guy manning the cashier saw another person behind me who was waiting to pay. He then asked if he could serve him first. I should have said no but somehow I didn't want to create a fuss and said ok. Thanks for letting me know that money is more important than customers to your business. Disappointed and may probably not return.

Need to improved in the kitchen take away tahu telor only and steam rice 25-30 min wait? The place not event busy.
Adeline Yip
Not friendly at all. Went for lunch today and was being told that it is fully book and not serving anymore 😠
Angela Wong
Made a booking but still had to wait 20 mins! Food not bad but should cut down on msg!
Ke Ching Tseng
Cheap and delicious 👍
Ray Wong
Bad experience
Foodiemaniac
Food here is great, but only given 4 stars as their teh tarik and 3 layer tea are unfortunately not so great. Very diluted in flavour so hopefully this will improve in the future. But this will not stop me from returning to the restaurant

Love this little suburban restaurant and the Nasi Lemak is the best! Be sure to book.
Julie
Nice food, friendly staff. Reasonable food. Comfortable place. But waiting long time during dinner time and need more staffs.

Laksa 6/10
Char Kway Teow 5/10
ABC 6/10

Love that they used the thin bee hoon, absorbs the laksa curry well. Laksa on its own is ok. Good portion and good value for $9.00

CKT used to be better, today’s tasted a little under seasoned and dry.

ABC is my favourite amongst today’s dishes served.

Service was very good and attentive.

Ordered some nyonya kuih, Onde Onde. They are made by Litte Nyonya Kitchen. It was really bad. Super thick skin/ dough and next to nothing of filling / palm sugar inside. They also used dry desiccated coconut to coat the onde onde. Not pleasant at all.
N.lam
Food is good but the service is poor. I do understand that this restaurant is very busy but when the staff say your order should be ready in 25mins and you give them them 45mins and you still wait- not great.
Also when you don't tell your customer that you have run out of something until the last minute and need to substitute- poor service.
When you have a dish on a menu that you don't actually make anymore (gado- gado)- pointless.

I won't be returning
Graceyyyyy
It took them over 80 minutes to get takeaway order ready for pickup. They initially said waiting time was 25 minutes. Extremely disorganised.

Decent quality for for an excellent price ($98 for six persons dinner + dessert).

Pre-order barramundi with kerabu sauce was quite the showstopper and tasted niceIce kacang had good sweetness and they were generous with the fillings - also gave us durian on top when we asked for it (since they had run out of cendol).

However, tahu telur was mostly just deep fried bits with no tofu inside, char kway teow had good wok hei but not lemak/flavourful, and the bean sprouts with salted fish was bland.

Not the best food but the low price has some kind of appeal.
DforDee
Good place to have family dinner or with a large group because there’s heaps of yummy dishes to order and share! I’ve been here a handful of times already and I always enjoyed my meals there. The only problem is during peak hours, it’s quite packed inside, hardly room to move and best to share a ride there as well when it’s busy.
ELF
Took 45mins for our lunch to start arriving. 3rd time this is happening. Ordered 2 serves of fried keuh tiao (just arrived)and 1 nasi lemak. No sign of nasi lemak as I finish typing this review. Not recommended for working people as wait times are longer than a typical lunch hour.

I've been coming here for quite a while now. I've loved the food, but there's a side effect. The golden floss prawns is LOADED with oil and maked me feel a bit queasy afterwards. Beware of the salty egg fried things for the same reason. They might taste sooo good upfront, but things get pretty hairy afterwards.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Also, the three color teh here is the best in all of Perth, all other places falls to its knees.
Neethu Royce
Had been there multiple times. Experience was great all the times. I am a big fan of their black pepper chicken. Tried their seafood dish, fried rice and ginger chicken and a soup. Everything tasted really good.
Good service and staff. Average ambience. They have parking nearby.
Recommend to others to give it a try.
Kudokun
My favorite takeaway restaurant with plenty of delicious choice! I highly recommend their salted egg yolk chicken, their tofu-egg special and their soft shel crab! Portion is generous with good pricing as well! Fyi, somehow, malaysian dining delight branch here is cheaper than the branch in victoria park eventhough they sell exact same menu. That’s why I prefer coming here!

We went here tonight for something quick, cheap and authentic. We were very pleased we did. For $23 we got 6 samosa and 2 dishes, in snd out in 40 minutes so we weren't late to pick up jnr. We had to sit outside because the place eas jammed but thats not a big deal. In its own league, its right up there.

A nice cheap simple Asian eat. If 1MDB was smarter they should invest in food.

It was cheap and good food . It’s not Michelin standard but at least your wallet won’t feel lightly

I normally get the seafood clay pot , the special fried egg and tofu, salted egg yolk chicken and Assam fish . Curry kapitan is also one of the more unique dish

They are also famous for their fried kuay Teow .

If you happen to be around Bentley . This could be a place to try
Shadykiller_9
Quality of food is incredibly consistent and excellent. It is consistently excellent. I would recommend the nasi lemak, seafood char hor fun (literally the best in perth, has the so called "wok breath"), laksa, mamak mee goreng, salted fish fried rice, ice kacang and otak otak spring rolls(tastes like how it does in Malaysia). The only below average dish I have had is the hokkien mee (without lard as place is halal), and the various vegetable dishes on offer. Price is very reasonable, and the service is efficient. Coming here is a weekly thing for me.
Chathura Limal
Very nice small restaurant with lots of nice item. if you like Malaysian food, you would love here. staff is friendly and food is very very cheap compare to other Malaysian restaurant in Perth.
Sara
Went to this restaurant and one of the staff, Karen is so rude. She got my takeaway order wrong, did not apologise & throw the wrong order on the table behind the counter with long face before she changed the order. Guys, I wouldn't know what she might be doing with my food sneakily. The food is ok but not worth coming back. #malaysiandiningdelights
Eunice
Wonderful experience always when dining here. You can tell when there is always a huge crowd. Lately they even have tour buses parked at the side, which means even more people. Nevertheless the food are always top notch. Sambal okra, salted egg yolk chicken and wat tan hor are my favourite dishes.
Treesaregreen
Great menu of Malaysian dishes! Been here a few times already with family and we've always walked away satisfied. Be sure to make a booking in advance as this place gets busy.
Finleyhimawan
Been here a few times and since we got too hungry we forgot to take pictures of the food. We tried the cereal prawn which is so tasty, a must have! Tahu telor is nice but a little sweet for my liking, Kung Po beef and fried rice is okay. The salted egg chicken and ikan terbang also tasty, fried in perfection and our fail proof dishes each time we come here. You may want to book a table though as they’re quite full most of the times.
Kath
My colleagues and I have frequented this place for years due to being close to work and it's cheap. Food is ok but nothing to rave about. We've never really had any issues until last night. We ordered as usual.. over the phone then went and picked it up. We ordered mee goring with no seafood and the chicken lemak. We brought it back to the office and discovered what we had been given was mee goring full of seafood and fried tofu. I wasn't overly fussed about the seafood and picked it out. My colleague on the other hand called the restaurant and was told it would not be replaced as we had already left the restaurant. Then he was told a blatant lie that fried tofu had been ordered and repeated when placing the order over the phone. We got a receipt but didn't even look at it. Our mistake clearly. Hence Malaysian Delights you have now lost 12 customers. There are way too many competitive restaurants in the area so maybe customer service should be a priority.
Ilovebeansprouts
Great food at affordable prices. They have quite a number of good dishes; a few of our usuals:

👍 Curry Kapitan Chicken
👍 Golden Floss Prawns
👍 Sambal Brinjal /Eggplant
👍 Kerabu Fish
👍 Special Telur Tofu
👍 Nasi Lemak - sambal is delicious
👍 Sweet & Sour Soft Shell Crab

Honey Orange Chicken is usually a crowd pleaser, especially with the kids . Not a fan of their beef dishes, but there's enough of other dishes to make up for that. They do have quite a number of dishes that are based on fried foods; one of the reasons why they are delicious, so just make sure you have some simpler/plainer dishes like the Claypot Seafood Tofu to balance the meal out.

They have another branch- Penang Village Malaysian Delights, over at East Vic Park, which is also just as good.

Authentic Malaysian food. I mean this when I say it having grown up in Malaysia. This restaurant could hold it's own in Kuala Lumpur, let alone Perth. The salted egg chicken, special telur tofu and nasi lemak are definitely worth ordering. Good value with large portions. This is one of the best places in Perth if you want Malaysian food.

Only complaint is that the food can take some time when it's busy.

Umut Özkalfa
I've heard very good comments about this restaurant. And I believe that most of those comments were because of its cheap. But if you experience Perth and do good search, you can find cheap restaurants with good customer service and delicious food selection.

99.99 percent perfect except the food is too cheap then next is for the character thing hdhfhdjfjfjfjfjfjggkgkfkfndbdbfnjjjjfjfjfjfjfjfjjfjk

Best teh tarlik in perth. Nasi Lamak is very good, but just too small in serving...we always order 3 dishes to share between 2. Laksa is very good too, love the thin rice noodle they use, can't find another one in perth
Surena Farrell
Always a crap place for takeaway. Every time it would be a 30min wait no matter if it is crowded or not. I come here like once a YEAR because their wait times are a HUGE DETERRENT!!!
Michael TJ
My family used to come very often but now I can see they are losing their game, waiting time is always more than 20 minutes during rush hour.

And worst happened tonight where I ordered take away worths $55 and paid for it, was advised it will take 20 minutes and I said yes thats fine.

After waiting for more than 30 minutes outside, I went to check my order and apparently they lost my order and asked me to wait another 5 minutes to cook my order.

You need to pick up your game before am coming back here unfortunately

It's a good place to have your standard Malaysian fare. It's fairly clean, reasonably priced, service is ok and food comes out in a reasonable time. The restaurant does get quite packed so best to book your table in advance. We have tried a few dishes, nasi lemak (delicious), fried Kuey tiaw (not bad), tofu telur (average), fried salted egg chicken dish is really yummy and our new favourite is the Fried Mee Hoon goreng! Yummm. It's not on the menu though. So you'll have to request for it. Delicious!!

This venue is always brimming with custom and it's easy to see why. The prices are very reasonable and they offer great choice. The regulars seem to order the whole fish dishes ahead, which looked the most spectacular.

Dishes vary in their quality - my tofu seafood claypot with housemade tofu was amazing whilst my friend's seafood stirfry was just meh. My partner found his tofu tower to be more looks over substance.
Chris
Tasty food and great price.

Deep fried salted egg york and chicken is a must for me. It tastes great when just served, however, it's just as nice when take away home. The chickens have skin on, which give it extra flavour and crisps.

The samba fried rice is spicy and delicious.

Clay pot seafood tofu was yummy too. The broth was good, and the deep fried tofu were delicious.

Finish off with a ice cendol is just great. Can't beat the palm sugar + coconut milk!
LazyPotato
Food went from awesome to average. Their assam fish was delicious when we first dined here, but now it's just watery and tastless. :( Service was..well.. Let's just say that no one likes to wait an hour with a hungry tummy for their food arrive...
Wulan Sucipto
I love this place as i love chinese-malaysian food. They menus are great, i love their salted egg chicken and special egg tofu. All their fried rice are nice. I alsolove their three colors tea.
Monmon
Our new fave place to eat. We went there around 6 PM and after read the review that there's no seats for you if you don't reserved, I didn't put a high hope if we don't get a seat. But the friendly waiter told seated us straight away so it was a good start. Ordered some food and within 10 minutes! Yes 10 minutes! Our food came out and it was delicious! We ordered sweet and sour soft shell crab, chicken with salted egg and mamak noodles. Love all of them. The portion was huge and the price was really good. We spent around $50 including 2 portions of rice, can drinks and 3 dishes. Will definitely come back and try more.
Mish_mash
This place use to be good. It's still very busy during the night time and you need to make a booking to be able to get a seat. However when you make a booking still expect to wait around for 15mins for others to leave. The staff here are pretty useless. They have no initiative and really don't care. Food quality is also declining from the last visit. Still people will go because of the early days when it was good.
Dewi
Absolutely terrible service. Came in for dinner however there were no tables available which was fine meaning we had to do a takeaway. After waiting 15 minutes to order they told us it would take 25 minutes for the food, came back after 30 minutes however the food was not yet ready. We asked how much longer and they went back to the kitchen and came back with a reply of 'we don't know..' I said 'what do you mean? I'd like to know when I would be able to pick up my order.' They unconvincingly replied with 'maybe about 30 minutes.' In opinion it should take more than 20 minutes for food regardless of how busy it is and it if does take longer the customer should be made aware of the wait period. The waitress were very unhelpful and rude. Not happy.
ABCSoup
They always ask you to pick up your takeaway 30 mins after calling them, but it's never on time. Come in 30 minutes later, you still have to wait for 10-15 mins, I had even waited an extra 45 mins. No apology is given and they even rush you to pay first. Service is bad and downright rude sometimes.
Foodie_addictee
We came here previously in the past and enjoyed the meal but hasn't return as the place is fairly small and crowded. This time we came back with family. The place allows booking in advance even on their peak weekend lunch is a plus as we have baby pram. The downside was they gave us table in the middle of the restaurant which is high traffic with people passing all the time. 1pm and there are still busy with people coming to dine.
So we ordered Assam fish, Fried Kwey Tiaw, Egg Ho Fun, Claypot homemade tofu, curry Laksa and Yong Chow Fried rice for 7 people. We really enjoyed the dish although I notes the flavour has changed since our previous visit.
Noticed a lot of people ordered the deep fried Barramundi (which require pre-order in advance) and deep fried egg with homemade tofu which look delish. We'll definitely come back to try their popular dish.
Eatout
Came here on a Friday night, was Hopi they have the usual item one the menu. Nasi lemak not available, curry kapitan with chicken not available, roti not available. Ordered spring roll for entre, came out cold obviously pre made and sitting on the counter for a long period of time or either frozen not cooked properly.
William
Happy Waiting Days, it is very bad service. We know is buzy days. We called for 3 foods to take a way and they said only 30 minutes waiting. That 30 minutes turn out to be 90minutes or 1 1/2 hours waiting. We are waiting outside, cold and hungry. They should said will be about an hour or more. We can just cancel and went for another restaurant. Your greediness cost this rating. 5 for food but 0 for services tonight. Thanks for the waiting time.
CafeCruiser
Came here many times when I was still at uni and just visited again for lunch after a long break. The food was just as good as always - the nasi lemak is excellent value at $9.90 with a decent chicken curry and the other dishes I've tried (sambal petai mixed vegetables, gado gado) have been very tasty, although a bit on the oily side. I can't speak for authenticity but this is my favourite of the malaysian restaurants SOR.
More Than Nourishment
We went on a Sunday night and luckily we made a reservation as people were being turned away and having to wait. I was surprised that there were diners coming in at 8:30pm for dinner! We had the nasi lemak, char kway teow and ice kacang. All the dishes were delicious and great value for the portion price. There was a huge range of dishes, to either share or have individually. Not bad for a random local place.
Zee
Nice little restaurant. Been here quite a few times and always ordered something different. Food was quite good. Not exactly the best but it isn't too bad.
Nikki.V
I ordered the laksa (takeaway), I only got 1 piece of chicken with the laksa and 2 prawns but the soup was yummy, probably not as spicy as others may prefer but I enjoyed it, for $9 who can complain? 😆
Le Grand Chef
Malaysian Dining Delights doesn't hold back on the chilli, so if you don't like your food too spicy ask them not to put too much in. I have only had take away from here, but will be returning for a dine in meal.
Lyv To Eat
The best type of meals are free! Mr. T's good friend celebrated their birthday by inviting a bunch of friends out for dinner. Their dinner was at Malaysian Dining Delights, so not only was I going to have a free meal, but I was going to try a restaurant I've never been to before! Double winning. I haven't heard much about this restaurant, but when we arrived I could see that I've been missing this from my life because not only was it packed, there were people lingering outside the door waiting for a table.
Eat Live & B Happy
Authentic food quality and nice presentation. Worth every trip but must book a table way in advance else one will be disappointed either by the wait there or the time slots left. The fried Penang kway teow was really good, Nasi Lemak was also pleasant but small portion, the Assam fish portion not worth a try cos' it's too concentrated and the portion is small with little ingredients. Will love to try the other popular dishes though. Saw many orders of their fried items.

Nice clean place. Polite staff too.
Peanutbutt
Call to book before you go and lovely dishes .. Curry kapitan chicken -salted egg dishes - prawn- Nadi lemak- tofu dishes and the apple plum juice are highly recommended. Oops I think I nearly mentioned all the dishes from the menu. Enjoy!
Anjo Alfon
Make a dinner reservation in advance if you're planning to bring groups here. Fridays and Saturdays are extremely busy.

Love their soft shell crabs dishes and fried rice selections. Worth the money because of the serving and quality of their food. Although dishes might be spicy for some eaters.
Inayah Babgei
I came here twice in a week with my husband and we really enjoyed the Tom Yum soup and fried rice (sambal belachan and veggie). They have friendly service and I strongly recommend you make reservations prior to going there because they are usually packed! I am also happy that they are halal certified! Overall this place has fantastic food!
Aaron Yap
I had Nasi Lemak & Teh Tarik for lunch yesterday. Wasn't crowded at 1pm but seats were half filled.Overall food standard was decent but not fantastic. If you are looking for a quick Malaysian meal (in, order, consume and out), this is the place.Service was reasonable. Teh Tarik was a bit too sweet for my tasteWill be coming back to try other quick lunch meals!
Trick T
Pleasantly nice! You can pop in for an early dinner otherwise ring them to have a table reserved for you. Salted egg chicken is must! Friendly staff.
Emz
Best to make reservations before heading down. Otherwise be prepared to wait if during peak hour dining times.

The tahur telur is like their signature dish. Virtually very appealing and tasty. Could be overly oily at times.

Their curry kapitan is always a pleaser. Nice fresh ingredients used, and most tasty when server piping hot.

Some other dishes that are nice. Kerabu sauce fish. You gotta pre order for a whole barramundi fish otherwise on a short notice you can let the waitperson know that you want kerabu sauce with fish fillet. Even with the soft shell crab it is nice. Sweet and sour from the fresh green apples. The gado gado is nice but can be inconsistent on different days. Also always sold out.

Their sambal belachan is very nice to go with the rice and dishes. They got some dishes that are nice and some misses.

Overall nice food to savour and at reasonable pricing !! Very reasonable :)
Food Food
This is one of the better malaysian restaurants out there in perth. Whether you are ordering individual or shared dishes, the food quality will not disappoint you too greatly. If you are craving for dishes with immense spicy flavour, be sure to order their range of nyoya dishes. The teluk tofu is a must try dish if you like a combination of extreme sweetness and crispiness in any food, though i must first warn that it might be too sweet for your liking.
Sugarbutterflour
Their salted egg chicken and the golden floss prawn are just yum.. Comfort food at its best :) and probably the best salted egg chicken dish in Perth so far! Love it!
Namrata Makhijani
Amazing food !! Went with a few friends and tried a few different things..everything tasted fresh and delicious. Best curry chicken and nasi lemak. Nice cosy place, simple decor but the food speaks for itself !
Da Puppie
Been here 3 times but won't be a forth. Food was good but I believe a restaurant is judged by both it's food and service.
Booked for 5:30pm.. got there on the dot and shown to a table that was hooked up with another family.. while there were other empty table around.
Order and our last dish took 25 min to come out; which at that time was 6:10. Then the waiter told us 'I don't meant to be rude but we have this table booked for a 6:30pm - do you mind if you finish up your meal by then'.
Was tempted to tell the waiter to just let us eat in peace since they were the one who took so long to cook our food.. but since was with family, I didn't.
Very disappointed.. really put a me off enjoying the meal.

We are regular and local customers for takeaway.... Never fails in consistency....great value prices.... It's always packed with customers ..... The food is always superb...what more can you ask?
Dining Queen
We go here as a family every possible occasion. Food here is always consistent and delicious. The best dishes on the menu are golden floss prawns, kung po beef, sambal fish and lemon tea, milo dinasaur and lychee tea! Service could be better but food always comes out quickly. You must give it a try!
Jer
Take Away Rip Off. Came by to take away dinner today. I ordered a Penang Char Kuay Teow and asked for it to be 1.5 times. Picked up my take away, got home and saw one regular and one small container both half full. Even with the small container combined with the regular one, the regular container wasn't even full. Pretty bad guys. Maybe relook at the take away portion? Cheers
Kyanite.eirian
Great food at a decent price. We went here yesterday for lunch, on a friend's recommendation. The restaurant looked a bit like a hole-in-the-wall restaurant on the outside, and was very neat on the inside. Service was prompt and friendly, probably because there weren't many people there- but that doesn't mean the food wasn't good! On the contrary, it's probably the best Malaysian food we've ever had in Perth.

We ordered the sambal fish (my favourite) - the fish was lovely and tender and smooth, perfectly spicy and slightly crisp on the outside-, the sweet and sour chicken which was really nice but a bit too tough for my liking, the sizzling black pepper beef which was wonderfully peppery, and the nyonya kapitan chicken which can only be described as amaaaaazing. My brother's Three Layer Tea was good, too.

Each dish cost less than $14, a real bargain compared to some places, especially with the quality and serving size. There was also little to no MSG added into our food. We actually weren't thirsty at all when we walked out of the restaurant!

Will definitely recommend to others.
Uncle Wong
Come at the right time, good food. Wrong timing, food no good. The foods are fantastic, Please come to this place at the right time during non peak hours otherwise your food will be hastily cooked. We ordered salted egg prawn during peak hour however the shells were on and the coating and taste was just outside the prawn's shell. Normally if they have time, the prawns will be peeled so that we can enjoy the flavours of the inside being coated with salted egg. If you received the salted egg prawn with the shells still on...it is just pointless of ordering.
Jacquiehossen13
Decent price, good food. I get takeaway from here regularly and the food is always great. Generous servings and decent prices. I'd recommend the nasi lemak!

Surprisingly good...! Deserves a try!. We have been avoiding this restaurant based on the bad reviews until our Malaysian origin neighbour suggested us to try this out. Went here on Friday 5th Sept.

To our surprise, we were delighted to dine here and appreciate the food served to us.

It is not very fine dining type, but it is typical low budget family friendly restaurant.

We were served by a lovely waitress who was cheerful and courteous.

We ordered the following:

Fish paste spring rolls - New taste, average 5/10

Nasi Lemak Capitan - delicious nyonya succulent chicken and flavoursome curry with rice, egg & sambal sauce 8/10

Yong Chow fried rice - Pretty average fried rice with seafood 5/10

Sambal Belacan with Okra, Eggplant & Petai - Pretty delicious given that we love eggplant & okra. The petai beans were alright (ate them first time) and the waitress said Petai beans were good for kidney!

This dish deserved 8/10.

Also had jasmine tea and drink with Rose syrup, ice crushed with milk & strawberry jelly which was below average.

Overall $40 for 2 people

Our belly was full of rice and curry and we did not suffer from any side effects later.

Hence we will return again.

Overall 7/10.

Recommendation: Give it a try, it is not a rip off! :)

Edit 3/8/2017: Visited this place again. The capitan nasi lemak has now become special nasi lemak which still has same taste and is delicious. Also tried their tom yum soup which was okay. Staff were helpful, smiling and courteous to kids.

Ignore the bad reviews and just give it a try!

A friend has invited us to this nyonya restaurant last week. I would normally read the reviews of the restaurant before going and I was in shocked of the bad reviews. I am glad I did give it a try. The food was yum! Closest to what I have been craving for especially the Nyonya Kapitan Chicken, Salted Egg Chicken and Golden Floss Prawns.

Out of curiosity from the previous reviews regarding the services from a 'tomboy' waitress, I started to ask my friend whether she is still working there and they said they have not seen such person. Maybe she is no longer serving there. The service was reasonable when I went in and it wasn't rude at all.

I must say it is not a place for 'long' dinner as it is a small size restaurant, everyone wants to have good food, so it is always good to be kind enough to let others have your table when you have finished your dinner instead of just sitting there to chit-chat. The waiter did not rush us out at all ( there were 10 of us)

I will definitely go back for Nasi Lemak next time because there is nyonya kapitan chicken in it:)

Thank you for serving us good authentic Malaysian nyonya food. Love this place:)

Btw, the restaurant is also a 'halal' restaurant:)

Wonderful food but unfortunately service was atrocious... Unbelievably arrogant!!!

No evening delights here!. I was looking forward to dining here as it was recommended by a work colleague. However, the service and food is just horrible. The food is greasy flavourless mush and is served with attitude. Never again!

Poor and Rude Service.... The restaurant staff was very rude. We had a table of 9, with a bill inexcess of $140. They refuse to take our order for deserts and insist we leave, all because they wanted to use our table for other customers.

We will never go there again. They are more interested in money $$$ than they are in serving their customers.

Mostly deep fried food. Ordered 3 dishes which 2 were deep fried. Was very greasy and couldn't finish it. The deep fried tofu tower only had a few pieces of tofu, don't know what the rest of it is made out of but it is very oily!

Malaysia boleh!. ... except for lost aeroplanes. Char Kway Teow is the best carb dish. The preserved/pickled plum in apple juice is out of this world. I like the cendol in palm sugar & shaved ice dessert but it's an acquired taste ...

Recommended. Good food, well priced with most pleasant service.

Awesome. One of my favourite places to dine, have been several times, very cheap for perth, usually ends up being about $15 a person. Service is adequate, i guess you get what you pay for. Very tasty meals as well, very authentic Malaysian cuisine. My favourite dishes include salted egg chicken, sambal brinjal and the nonya chicken/beef curry mmmmm tasty. Highly recommended.

Been there a several times, the service has improved alot as i realised they have new team of waiter/ waitres.Food is good, authentic and reasonably priced. Recommends salted egg chicken, golden floss prawn and penang char kuey teow!!!
VKee
Good, authentic Malaysian food.

Waitperson's attitude is super duper RUDE!! And i've been waiting for 40 minutes for my food to be out. Even the table sitting next to me has their food out when they came in 20 mins later than me..
Tttt
Excellent food! Most authentic Malaysian cuisine in Perth that I have tasted. Price is reasonable too. They're usually packed so it might be wise to book.

Waited 1 hour for 2 dishes .. Don't come if you are very hungry or don't mind waiting

Food is good ,service is absolutely terrible. I think im not the first person who complained about their customer service.Won't be coming back anymore..

Nasi lemak was really tasty but kitchen service is slow!

End up walking out the restaurant because the people work there is so rude!!!!!

Food was average and unacceptable below standard customer service.

The waitress with short really should learn some manner and change her attitude. Not the first time having such rude service here, come here again because of the food is good, so beared her many times. She really need to change her way to serve, otherwise gonna lose customers eventually

Tasty food but a bit hit and miss. Char Kway Teow was very good, Hokkien Char was alright. Gado gado was a little strange - the sauce was too thick and usually the tofu is a large piece that is fried then cut up, this one was small pieces that were fried. More potato than tofu. Reasonable meal, inexpensive. We came for a casual family dinner. Not a first date place if you want to impress. Service was a little slow, and they brought the food out before bringing cutlery. But one doesn't expect great service in these places :-)

Didn't have any issues with service. If ur going to an Asian suburban restaurant don't expect silver spoon service. But do expect some great food!! Can't wait to go back, generous serving of king prawns, great salted egg chicken (even though I don't like salted egg)!! Great flavours and range of authentic dishes

I have never seen that RUDE waitress in my life but the food was awesome!!!!. I have been to that Malaysian restaurant many time but i thought they will get rid of that waitress. But it was shocking to see that they still got that (Short hair/Tomboy/very rude/wearing glasses) waitress. They got the best Malaysian food in Perth but the service is real bad. It will be hard for them to get their customer back if they still got her in service.I have been with some of other friends but no one likes that waitress either..Its all about the waitresses they have got but i will still come back because the FOOD IS INCREDIBLE!!
Dizzyme
The food are nice and the price is reasonable but it takes a long time to have the good served. If you are really hungry, maybe skip this place.

WORST WORST waitress and waiter ever!!!!. The WORST service experience I ever had in Perth Restaurant. No smile, no greeting and some more showing their "TIRED, SICK, STRESS" face!
Not to mention about the way how they take order, how they react when you ask for extra stuff.
Sorry only talking about the short hair lady and one guy/lady "NOT SURE" with glasses.
The only waitress with smiling face is the long hair girl.
Food was good and cheap but definitely not going back!
I don't mind to pay a few bucks more to get better service.

Food are nicely present however they take timesss to show up on your table. Decided to walk-in, try my luck see if any table available as they only advertised a mobile number which doesn't get answer when I tried to ring. We were there for 2 hours, hardly see the waitress smile. And they do charge for take away container when you can't finish the food.
J
WORST WAITRESS EVER!. Never will i return or recommend anyone to dine in here. So what your food is above average? Hell of an attitude of the waitress who's working there.
Flick
Not coming back EVER. Went here three times as mates wanted to eat here. Service was very slow for those three times. The third time we went there, we walked out without having any food served after waited for 30 minutes. No apology from the waitress. Nothing special about the food, just average. I guess the reason people coming back is because of the cheap price. I certainly don't mind paying more money elsewhere for much better food and service.

Good Value but Nothing Spectacular. There is certainly a place in the dining scene in Perth for this casual restaurant, offering good value, generous portions and ok quality/tasting Malaysian cuisine. There are too many restaurants out there charging like a wounded bull with no quality. So that is a thumbs up for this place.

That being said, I cannot attest to it's authenticity of the food at this place, although it tries. The much raved-about Nasi Lemak is an average version (coconut rice taste plain, curry chicken ok but nothing to shout about, sambal average.....), Penang Char Kway Teow was a little gluggy without much wok-breath, mee goreng was alright.

The service was abrupt and even a little bit rude/arrogant. The seating was not good. We were cramped on the same long table with other diners and the other group was right next to me without any space in between. Very uncomfortable especially if the guy a few inches from you is talking louding and/or hacking away. yuck.

At the end of the day, it offers pocket-friendly meals. I might give it another go if I feel like driving to Bentley but I would be ordering some other items on the menu.

I visited this place on very high recommendations.

Rudest waitress i have ever seem in my life, right there at malaysia dining delight. Made me wanna puke.

We went here on a Wednesday night and the hubby had a Penang char kuey teow and I had the tofu clay pot with some rice, staff were friendly and food was yummy, no complaints! Will be back. It's a simple restaurant, don't expect the glitz! But treat good :)

Best Malaysian Cuisine so far!. Staffs are attentive! They cared about their food and services. Great food and value for money. I have been there for many times and has not disappointed me yet!

DO go there and try!
Eatwithhendri
Try its mamak mee goreng. authentic and tasty. Dont bother their petai sambal, lack of flavour. Nasi lemak sambal was very good similar with those oldtown or paparich.

This place is excellent for food lovers who don't mind surroundings which are frankly a bit grubby. The salted egg chicken had amazing mouth feel. I'm not sure what service was like previously but on my visit it was efficient, albeit lacked charm. If you want good Malaysian food, with all the subtleties of authentic straits/ Nyonya cuisine, then this is the place for you; many of the dishes here are simply unmatched in Perth.

Good food & greats service. Went on sunday 17/03/13 for dinner, a group of 7. Ordered several different dishes. Loved the chicken kapitan curry, it was really yummy and favourite for the night. Enjoyed the beef chilli something with greens, it was nice & hot but the sweet chicken we had was helping cool the heat/hot from the beef. I also loved the cereal prawns, tofu tower, chicken laksa & friend rice. All dishes were really yummy.
This is my new favourite Malay spot and would certainly recommend it. The place is small but food is delicious.

Waiters very rude. Food just average, some actually not good at all taste plain like the omlette very plain. Salted egg prawn taste weird with the prawn head and shell its just not good, fried rice with balacan was ok. Banana fritter with cheese and condensed milk its just banana fritter with cheese sprinkle on top. There was no condensed milk except oil that running to bottom of plate. Its small restaurant with lots of table so very crowded. Unpleasant.
Steve
This is as close to Malaysian food overseas as you can get! Super fast

Loving it!. I came here once with a friend in the mood for a good laksa and she told its the best! i was not dissapointed!! since then i have lost count of the times ive been there! i have brought my family, friends several times! we have tried many things of the menu from noodle dishes, chicken curry, spring rolls, fried banana with condensed milk and grated cheese. For the people that are having something negative to say you get what you pay for...I'd rather spend $20 here and know that the food will be delicious and good sized instead of double somewhere else n still not be satisfied.

Went for dinner with family, and got greeted with poor service, food was mediocre, staff definitely needs more training with seating allocation and reservation

Lunch. Ordered Gado Gado and Penang Fried Ho Fun Noodles for lunch. The vegie tofu salad was bad, prawn crackers on top were not crispy and the oil was not fresh. The noodles were not much better as could taste non-fleshy prawns. Even the dishes we went for dinner were not very impressive and most were deep fried with Malaysian sauces. Won't go back.

I love it! The eggplant, the asam fish, the nestum prawns, highly recommended to those who miss Malaysian food. Keep up the amazing job, keep the standards high but keep the pricings reasonable :)

Good addition for Bentley area!. Went there and tried nasi lemak and char kwe tiao.. not bad really! in fact the nasi lemak was good and reasonably priced! will be back for sure

Still the same. Came here last Thursday with my two other friends. We ordered Curry Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Char Kuay Teow. All tasted beautiful. You can taste the wok hei in their Char Kuay Teow. I guess they must have fried it under a strong flame as normally done in Malaysia. It's the first time I tried nasi lemak and Curry Laksa. The nasi lemak has the usual condiment plus chicken curry. I would prefer more sambal and might ask for extra sambal. The Laksa is nice too. I'm not a great fan of curry laksa as I prefer the Penang Asam laksa version. All the meal are reasonably price. The last time I was there was early last year. Happy to see their Char Kuay Teow tasted the same and also their service is much better.

-----26 Jul, 2012-----

Delish!. My friends and I went to this cafe today by accident but it was a nice accident. We ordered Nasi Goreng Sambal Belacan, Seafood Car Hor Fun and Char Kuay Teow. The Nasi Goreng was nice and spicy, the Char Kuay Teow has the right amount of beans sprout and seafood and the most important thing is the 'wok hei' smell and taste. The Seafood Car Hor Fun was quiet ok but I prefer it to be less eggy. Overall the food were very satisfying and it was not too expensive. Will definitely go there again in the future....

Visit the place after hearing good reviews from friends. We had a big group of 4 adults and 3 kids. Thankfully this was not one of those sardine tin styled place where minimum space and maximum customers are fitted.

The menu was fairly priced for the food. Char Kway Teow was nice, heaps of bean sprouts and not too oily! Fish ball noodle soup was nice and tasty. Kapitan chicken looked ok but didn't taste it so cannot comment. Otak Otak spring rolls were a bit disappointed as it was frozen and not freshly handmade as I was expecting.

The desserts were to die for with their ABC (air batu campur), the 3 layer tea etc. Unfortunately due to restrictions on my sugar levels or perhaps because we had 3 kids there and tanking them up on sugar is not a good idea, we gave dessert a skip, almost. We relented and ordered the pisang goreng (fried banana) in cheese. Again, another disappointment. There was not enough condensed milk and too much cheese.

The best bit is with 5 mains, a starter and a dessert, it came to a total of $60. That for me is well and truly a budget meal. Am willing to overlook the slight disappointments and have already targeted a few other dishes to eliminate in the near future.

Very Authentic Food. We went here in a large group thinking it was still Sunny's (which has moved next door) and was plesantly surprised with the food. Our top picks were the Penang Char Keoy Teow and Prawn Noodle soup. Other good dishes included Pineapple Fried rice, salted egg chicken and Nasi Lemak (although Sunny's next door still does one of the best in Perth - fried chicken style Nasi Lemak). The only dish that didn't hit the mark was the Curry Laksa, which didn't pass our group's authentic flavours mark. Overall a great new place for those that like great malaysian food at reasonable prices.

Absolutely Delicious!. We decided to try this place after hearing from a couple of our friends how reasonably priced it was for what you got. We went during dinner time and ordered the assam fish fillet, nyonya kapitan curry beef & salted egg chicken with a serve of coconut rice each. They were absolutely delicious! :) We licked our plates clean and left very satisfied. I've also heard that the nasi lemak and the seafood wat tan hor are pretty good too! We will DEFINITELY be back :) *NEW FAVOURITE PLACE*

Authentic Malaysian Cuisine. We were privileged to be invited to the official opening of this excellent authentic restaurant. Found the food to be excellent and would recommend this restaurant for those who are seeking authentic flavours in Malaysian cuisine.

Dishes that I would recommend includes the assam fish, the taufu telur, deep fried chicken in salted eggs.

The restaurant offer a wide selections of Malaysian delicacies, desserts and beverages. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to go out with friends or family. It is too loud for a romantic couples night but for a relaxed, social evening its great.

Malaysian Dining Delights has always been a suburban favorite of mine for Asian hawker cuisine. Located on Manning Road in Bentley, it offers delicious and reasonably priced dishes, with ample parking space which is always convenient. My favorites are the Penang Char Kway Teow and the Hokkien Char. On this occasion, my family and I ordered from the main dishes section of the menu to try something different. We had the following: Nyonya Kapitan Chicken ($13.90) – authentic curry kapitan sauce with chicken and potatoes. The curry sauce was yummy and went well with the steamed rice. Generous amount of chicken pieces too! Golden Floss Prawn ($18.90) – deep fried crispy butter prawn with egg floss and cereal. One of my favorites, the prawns were coated well, very crunchy and tasty! Braised Broccoli with Mushroom ($9.90) – the broccoli and mushroom were cooked in oyster sauce fried with generous amount of garlic. Assam Petai Mixed Vegetables ($9.90) – stir fried okra, petai, onion, bringal w
