Most people comment on how good the food is. Beyond the great taste and flavours, the price is fantastic. Individual meals for under $10 and main meals to share are mostly between $15-$20.
I love the food here. Especially going in a large group so you get to taste lots of different things. The delight yesterday was the fish with ginger. Fragrant, delicate and lots of veggies.
Going with Malaysians who know what to order also helps!
I just love all d food that has been served for us during the dinner especially the crispy prown and the taufoo was fantastic...
Food here is great, but only given 4 stars as their teh tarik and 3 layer tea are unfortunately not so great. Very diluted in flavour so hopefully this will improve in the future. But this will not stop me from returning to the restaurant
Love this little suburban restaurant and the Nasi Lemak is the best! Be sure to book.
Nice food, friendly staff. Reasonable food. Comfortable place. But waiting long time during dinner time and need more staffs.
Decent quality for for an excellent price ($98 for six persons dinner + dessert).
Pre-order barramundi with kerabu sauce was quite the showstopper and tasted niceIce kacang had good sweetness and they were generous with the fillings - also gave us durian on top when we asked for it (since they had run out of cendol).
However, tahu telur was mostly just deep fried bits with no tofu inside, char kway teow had good wok hei but not lemak/flavourful, and the bean sprouts with salted fish was bland.
Not the best food but the low price has some kind of appeal.
Good place to have family dinner or with a large group because there’s heaps of yummy dishes to order and share! I’ve been here a handful of times already and I always enjoyed my meals there. The only problem is during peak hours, it’s quite packed inside, hardly room to move and best to share a ride there as well when it’s busy.
I've been coming here for quite a while now. I've loved the food, but there's a side effect. The golden floss prawns is LOADED with oil and maked me feel a bit queasy afterwards. Beware of the salty egg fried things for the same reason. They might taste sooo good upfront, but things get pretty hairy afterwards.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Also, the three color teh here is the best in all of Perth, all other places falls to its knees.
Had been there multiple times. Experience was great all the times. I am a big fan of their black pepper chicken. Tried their seafood dish, fried rice and ginger chicken and a soup. Everything tasted really good.
Good service and staff. Average ambience. They have parking nearby.
Recommend to others to give it a try.
My favorite takeaway restaurant with plenty of delicious choice! I highly recommend their salted egg yolk chicken, their tofu-egg special and their soft shel crab! Portion is generous with good pricing as well! Fyi, somehow, malaysian dining delight branch here is cheaper than the branch in victoria park eventhough they sell exact same menu. That’s why I prefer coming here!
We went here tonight for something quick, cheap and authentic. We were very pleased we did. For $23 we got 6 samosa and 2 dishes, in snd out in 40 minutes so we weren't late to pick up jnr. We had to sit outside because the place eas jammed but thats not a big deal. In its own league, its right up there.
Quality of food is incredibly consistent and excellent. It is consistently excellent. I would recommend the nasi lemak, seafood char hor fun (literally the best in perth, has the so called "wok breath"), laksa, mamak mee goreng, salted fish fried rice, ice kacang and otak otak spring rolls(tastes like how it does in Malaysia). The only below average dish I have had is the hokkien mee (without lard as place is halal), and the various vegetable dishes on offer. Price is very reasonable, and the service is efficient. Coming here is a weekly thing for me.
Very nice small restaurant with lots of nice item. if you like Malaysian food, you would love here. staff is friendly and food is very very cheap compare to other Malaysian restaurant in Perth.
Wonderful experience always when dining here. You can tell when there is always a huge crowd. Lately they even have tour buses parked at the side, which means even more people. Nevertheless the food are always top notch. Sambal okra, salted egg yolk chicken and wat tan hor are my favourite dishes.
Great menu of Malaysian dishes! Been here a few times already with family and we've always walked away satisfied. Be sure to make a booking in advance as this place gets busy.
Been here a few times and since we got too hungry we forgot to take pictures of the food. We tried the cereal prawn which is so tasty, a must have! Tahu telor is nice but a little sweet for my liking, Kung Po beef and fried rice is okay. The salted egg chicken and ikan terbang also tasty, fried in perfection and our fail proof dishes each time we come here. You may want to book a table though as they’re quite full most of the times.
Great food at affordable prices. They have quite a number of good dishes; a few of our usuals:
👍 Curry Kapitan Chicken
👍 Golden Floss Prawns
👍 Sambal Brinjal /Eggplant
👍 Kerabu Fish
👍 Special Telur Tofu
👍 Nasi Lemak - sambal is delicious
👍 Sweet & Sour Soft Shell Crab
Honey Orange Chicken is usually a crowd pleaser, especially with the kids . Not a fan of their beef dishes, but there's enough of other dishes to make up for that. They do have quite a number of dishes that are based on fried foods; one of the reasons why they are delicious, so just make sure you have some simpler/plainer dishes like the Claypot Seafood Tofu to balance the meal out.
They have another branch- Penang Village Malaysian Delights, over at East Vic Park, which is also just as good.
Authentic Malaysian food. I mean this when I say it having grown up in Malaysia. This restaurant could hold it's own in Kuala Lumpur, let alone Perth. The salted egg chicken, special telur tofu and nasi lemak are definitely worth ordering. Good value with large portions. This is one of the best places in Perth if you want Malaysian food.
Only complaint is that the food can take some time when it's busy.
99.99 percent perfect except the food is too cheap then next is for the character thing hdhfhdjfjfjfjfjfjggkgkfkfndbdbfnjjjjfjfjfjfjfjfjjfjk
Best teh tarlik in perth. Nasi Lamak is very good, but just too small in serving...we always order 3 dishes to share between 2. Laksa is very good too, love the thin rice noodle they use, can't find another one in perth
It's a good place to have your standard Malaysian fare. It's fairly clean, reasonably priced, service is ok and food comes out in a reasonable time. The restaurant does get quite packed so best to book your table in advance. We have tried a few dishes, nasi lemak (delicious), fried Kuey tiaw (not bad), tofu telur (average), fried salted egg chicken dish is really yummy and our new favourite is the Fried Mee Hoon goreng! Yummm. It's not on the menu though. So you'll have to request for it. Delicious!!
This venue is always brimming with custom and it's easy to see why. The prices are very reasonable and they offer great choice. The regulars seem to order the whole fish dishes ahead, which looked the most spectacular.
Dishes vary in their quality - my tofu seafood claypot with housemade tofu was amazing whilst my friend's seafood stirfry was just meh. My partner found his tofu tower to be more looks over substance.
Tasty food and great price.
Deep fried salted egg york and chicken is a must for me. It tastes great when just served, however, it's just as nice when take away home. The chickens have skin on, which give it extra flavour and crisps.
The samba fried rice is spicy and delicious.
Clay pot seafood tofu was yummy too. The broth was good, and the deep fried tofu were delicious.
Finish off with a ice cendol is just great. Can't beat the palm sugar + coconut milk!
I love this place as i love chinese-malaysian food. They menus are great, i love their salted egg chicken and special egg tofu. All their fried rice are nice. I alsolove their three colors tea.
Our new fave place to eat. We went there around 6 PM and after read the review that there's no seats for you if you don't reserved, I didn't put a high hope if we don't get a seat. But the friendly waiter told seated us straight away so it was a good start. Ordered some food and within 10 minutes! Yes 10 minutes! Our food came out and it was delicious! We ordered sweet and sour soft shell crab, chicken with salted egg and mamak noodles. Love all of them. The portion was huge and the price was really good. We spent around $50 including 2 portions of rice, can drinks and 3 dishes. Will definitely come back and try more.
We came here previously in the past and enjoyed the meal but hasn't return as the place is fairly small and crowded. This time we came back with family. The place allows booking in advance even on their peak weekend lunch is a plus as we have baby pram. The downside was they gave us table in the middle of the restaurant which is high traffic with people passing all the time. 1pm and there are still busy with people coming to dine.
So we ordered Assam fish, Fried Kwey Tiaw, Egg Ho Fun, Claypot homemade tofu, curry Laksa and Yong Chow Fried rice for 7 people. We really enjoyed the dish although I notes the flavour has changed since our previous visit.
Noticed a lot of people ordered the deep fried Barramundi (which require pre-order in advance) and deep fried egg with homemade tofu which look delish. We'll definitely come back to try their popular dish.
Came here many times when I was still at uni and just visited again for lunch after a long break. The food was just as good as always - the nasi lemak is excellent value at $9.90 with a decent chicken curry and the other dishes I've tried (sambal petai mixed vegetables, gado gado) have been very tasty, although a bit on the oily side. I can't speak for authenticity but this is my favourite of the malaysian restaurants SOR.
We went on a Sunday night and luckily we made a reservation as people were being turned away and having to wait. I was surprised that there were diners coming in at 8:30pm for dinner! We had the nasi lemak, char kway teow and ice kacang. All the dishes were delicious and great value for the portion price. There was a huge range of dishes, to either share or have individually. Not bad for a random local place.
Nice little restaurant. Been here quite a few times and always ordered something different. Food was quite good. Not exactly the best but it isn't too bad.
I ordered the laksa (takeaway), I only got 1 piece of chicken with the laksa and 2 prawns but the soup was yummy, probably not as spicy as others may prefer but I enjoyed it, for $9 who can complain? 😆
Malaysian Dining Delights doesn't hold back on the chilli, so if you don't like your food too spicy ask them not to put too much in. I have only had take away from here, but will be returning for a dine in meal.
The best type of meals are free! Mr. T's good friend celebrated their birthday by inviting a bunch of friends out for dinner. Their dinner was at Malaysian Dining Delights, so not only was I going to have a free meal, but I was going to try a restaurant I've never been to before! Double winning. I haven't heard much about this restaurant, but when we arrived I could see that I've been missing this from my life because not only was it packed, there were people lingering outside the door waiting for a table.
Call to book before you go and lovely dishes .. Curry kapitan chicken -salted egg dishes - prawn- Nadi lemak- tofu dishes and the apple plum juice are highly recommended. Oops I think I nearly mentioned all the dishes from the menu. Enjoy!
Make a dinner reservation in advance if you're planning to bring groups here. Fridays and Saturdays are extremely busy.
Love their soft shell crabs dishes and fried rice selections. Worth the money because of the serving and quality of their food. Although dishes might be spicy for some eaters.
I came here twice in a week with my husband and we really enjoyed the Tom Yum soup and fried rice (sambal belachan and veggie). They have friendly service and I strongly recommend you make reservations prior to going there because they are usually packed! I am also happy that they are halal certified! Overall this place has fantastic food!
Pleasantly nice! You can pop in for an early dinner otherwise ring them to have a table reserved for you. Salted egg chicken is must! Friendly staff.
Best to make reservations before heading down. Otherwise be prepared to wait if during peak hour dining times.
The tahur telur is like their signature dish. Virtually very appealing and tasty. Could be overly oily at times.
Their curry kapitan is always a pleaser. Nice fresh ingredients used, and most tasty when server piping hot.
Some other dishes that are nice. Kerabu sauce fish. You gotta pre order for a whole barramundi fish otherwise on a short notice you can let the waitperson know that you want kerabu sauce with fish fillet. Even with the soft shell crab it is nice. Sweet and sour from the fresh green apples. The gado gado is nice but can be inconsistent on different days. Also always sold out.
Their sambal belachan is very nice to go with the rice and dishes. They got some dishes that are nice and some misses.
Overall nice food to savour and at reasonable pricing !! Very reasonable :)
This is one of the better malaysian restaurants out there in perth. Whether you are ordering individual or shared dishes, the food quality will not disappoint you too greatly. If you are craving for dishes with immense spicy flavour, be sure to order their range of nyoya dishes. The teluk tofu is a must try dish if you like a combination of extreme sweetness and crispiness in any food, though i must first warn that it might be too sweet for your liking.
Their salted egg chicken and the golden floss prawn are just yum.. Comfort food at its best :) and probably the best salted egg chicken dish in Perth so far! Love it!
Amazing food !! Went with a few friends and tried a few different things..everything tasted fresh and delicious. Best curry chicken and nasi lemak. Nice cosy place, simple decor but the food speaks for itself !
We are regular and local customers for takeaway.... Never fails in consistency....great value prices.... It's always packed with customers ..... The food is always superb...what more can you ask?
Come at the right time, good food. Wrong timing, food no good. The foods are fantastic, Please come to this place at the right time during non peak hours otherwise your food will be hastily cooked. We ordered salted egg prawn during peak hour however the shells were on and the coating and taste was just outside the prawn's shell. Normally if they have time, the prawns will be peeled so that we can enjoy the flavours of the inside being coated with salted egg. If you received the salted egg prawn with the shells still on...it is just pointless of ordering.
Surprisingly good...! Deserves a try!. We have been avoiding this restaurant based on the bad reviews until our Malaysian origin neighbour suggested us to try this out. Went here on Friday 5th Sept.
To our surprise, we were delighted to dine here and appreciate the food served to us.
It is not very fine dining type, but it is typical low budget family friendly restaurant.
We were served by a lovely waitress who was cheerful and courteous.
We ordered the following:
Fish paste spring rolls - New taste, average 5/10
Nasi Lemak Capitan - delicious nyonya succulent chicken and flavoursome curry with rice, egg & sambal sauce 8/10
Yong Chow fried rice - Pretty average fried rice with seafood 5/10
Sambal Belacan with Okra, Eggplant & Petai - Pretty delicious given that we love eggplant & okra. The petai beans were alright (ate them first time) and the waitress said Petai beans were good for kidney!
This dish deserved 8/10.
Also had jasmine tea and drink with Rose syrup, ice crushed with milk & strawberry jelly which was below average.
Overall $40 for 2 people
Our belly was full of rice and curry and we did not suffer from any side effects later.
Hence we will return again.
Overall 7/10.
Recommendation: Give it a try, it is not a rip off! :)
Edit 3/8/2017: Visited this place again. The capitan nasi lemak has now become special nasi lemak which still has same taste and is delicious. Also tried their tom yum soup which was okay. Staff were helpful, smiling and courteous to kids.
Ignore the bad reviews and just give it a try!
A friend has invited us to this nyonya restaurant last week. I would normally read the reviews of the restaurant before going and I was in shocked of the bad reviews. I am glad I did give it a try. The food was yum! Closest to what I have been craving for especially the Nyonya Kapitan Chicken, Salted Egg Chicken and Golden Floss Prawns.
Out of curiosity from the previous reviews regarding the services from a 'tomboy' waitress, I started to ask my friend whether she is still working there and they said they have not seen such person. Maybe she is no longer serving there. The service was reasonable when I went in and it wasn't rude at all.
I must say it is not a place for 'long' dinner as it is a small size restaurant, everyone wants to have good food, so it is always good to be kind enough to let others have your table when you have finished your dinner instead of just sitting there to chit-chat. The waiter did not rush us out at all ( there were 10 of us)
I will definitely go back for Nasi Lemak next time because there is nyonya kapitan chicken in it:)
Thank you for serving us good authentic Malaysian nyonya food. Love this place:)
Btw, the restaurant is also a 'halal' restaurant:)
Malaysia boleh!. ... except for lost aeroplanes. Char Kway Teow is the best carb dish. The preserved/pickled plum in apple juice is out of this world. I like the cendol in palm sugar & shaved ice dessert but it's an acquired taste ...
Awesome. One of my favourite places to dine, have been several times, very cheap for perth, usually ends up being about $15 a person. Service is adequate, i guess you get what you pay for. Very tasty meals as well, very authentic Malaysian cuisine. My favourite dishes include salted egg chicken, sambal brinjal and the nonya chicken/beef curry mmmmm tasty. Highly recommended.
Been there a several times, the service has improved alot as i realised they have new team of waiter/ waitres.Food is good, authentic and reasonably priced. Recommends salted egg chicken, golden floss prawn and penang char kuey teow!!!
Good, authentic Malaysian food.
Excellent food! Most authentic Malaysian cuisine in Perth that I have tasted. Price is reasonable too. They're usually packed so it might be wise to book.
Nasi lemak was really tasty but kitchen service is slow!
Didn't have any issues with service. If ur going to an Asian suburban restaurant don't expect silver spoon service. But do expect some great food!! Can't wait to go back, generous serving of king prawns, great salted egg chicken (even though I don't like salted egg)!! Great flavours and range of authentic dishes
We went here on a Wednesday night and the hubby had a Penang char kuey teow and I had the tofu clay pot with some rice, staff were friendly and food was yummy, no complaints! Will be back. It's a simple restaurant, don't expect the glitz! But treat good :)
Best Malaysian Cuisine so far!. Staffs are attentive! They cared about their food and services. Great food and value for money. I have been there for many times and has not disappointed me yet!
DO go there and try!
This place is excellent for food lovers who don't mind surroundings which are frankly a bit grubby. The salted egg chicken had amazing mouth feel. I'm not sure what service was like previously but on my visit it was efficient, albeit lacked charm. If you want good Malaysian food, with all the subtleties of authentic straits/ Nyonya cuisine, then this is the place for you; many of the dishes here are simply unmatched in Perth.
This is as close to Malaysian food overseas as you can get! Super fast
Loving it!. I came here once with a friend in the mood for a good laksa and she told its the best! i was not dissapointed!! since then i have lost count of the times ive been there! i have brought my family, friends several times! we have tried many things of the menu from noodle dishes, chicken curry, spring rolls, fried banana with condensed milk and grated cheese. For the people that are having something negative to say you get what you pay for...I'd rather spend $20 here and know that the food will be delicious and good sized instead of double somewhere else n still not be satisfied.
Always have wonderful lunch n dinner in Malaysian Delight. Friendly staff, quick service, good food n reasonable price are the most important points. Mostly coming on weekend. Even busy the quality is still good.Having golden floss prawn which is really delicious tasty yummy, salted egg chicken is outstanding, anchovies fried rice quite nice, mamak mee goreng is cheap n tasty, laksa is incredible spicy n delicious, beansprout salted fish is nice, need more salted fish though.Howeer the drink are just so so,nothing special but still fine.Wanna come back n tell friends to go there
Good addition for Bentley area!. Went there and tried nasi lemak and char kwe tiao.. not bad really! in fact the nasi lemak was good and reasonably priced! will be back for sure
Authentic and very tasty food. Portions were substantial and price is incredibly reasonable! Would definitely be back- very approachable bunch of staff too. All in all great exp
Very good roti prata & Assam fish. Will definitely come back.
Still the same. Came here last Thursday with my two other friends. We ordered Curry Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Char Kuay Teow. All tasted beautiful. You can taste the wok hei in their Char Kuay Teow. I guess they must have fried it under a strong flame as normally done in Malaysia. It's the first time I tried nasi lemak and Curry Laksa. The nasi lemak has the usual condiment plus chicken curry. I would prefer more sambal and might ask for extra sambal. The Laksa is nice too. I'm not a great fan of curry laksa as I prefer the Penang Asam laksa version. All the meal are reasonably price. The last time I was there was early last year. Happy to see their Char Kuay Teow tasted the same and also their service is much better.
-----26 Jul, 2012-----
Delish!. My friends and I went to this cafe today by accident but it was a nice accident. We ordered Nasi Goreng Sambal Belacan, Seafood Car Hor Fun and Char Kuay Teow. The Nasi Goreng was nice and spicy, the Char Kuay Teow has the right amount of beans sprout and seafood and the most important thing is the 'wok hei' smell and taste. The Seafood Car Hor Fun was quiet ok but I prefer it to be less eggy. Overall the food were very satisfying and it was not too expensive. Will definitely go there again in the future....
Visit the place after hearing good reviews from friends. We had a big group of 4 adults and 3 kids. Thankfully this was not one of those sardine tin styled place where minimum space and maximum customers are fitted.
The menu was fairly priced for the food. Char Kway Teow was nice, heaps of bean sprouts and not too oily! Fish ball noodle soup was nice and tasty. Kapitan chicken looked ok but didn't taste it so cannot comment. Otak Otak spring rolls were a bit disappointed as it was frozen and not freshly handmade as I was expecting.
The desserts were to die for with their ABC (air batu campur), the 3 layer tea etc. Unfortunately due to restrictions on my sugar levels or perhaps because we had 3 kids there and tanking them up on sugar is not a good idea, we gave dessert a skip, almost. We relented and ordered the pisang goreng (fried banana) in cheese. Again, another disappointment. There was not enough condensed milk and too much cheese.
The best bit is with 5 mains, a starter and a dessert, it came to a total of $60. That for me is well and truly a budget meal. Am willing to overlook the slight disappointments and have already targeted a few other dishes to eliminate in the near future.
Very Authentic Food. We went here in a large group thinking it was still Sunny's (which has moved next door) and was plesantly surprised with the food. Our top picks were the Penang Char Keoy Teow and Prawn Noodle soup. Other good dishes included Pineapple Fried rice, salted egg chicken and Nasi Lemak (although Sunny's next door still does one of the best in Perth - fried chicken style Nasi Lemak). The only dish that didn't hit the mark was the Curry Laksa, which didn't pass our group's authentic flavours mark. Overall a great new place for those that like great malaysian food at reasonable prices.
Absolutely Delicious!. We decided to try this place after hearing from a couple of our friends how reasonably priced it was for what you got. We went during dinner time and ordered the assam fish fillet, nyonya kapitan curry beef & salted egg chicken with a serve of coconut rice each. They were absolutely delicious! :) We licked our plates clean and left very satisfied. I've also heard that the nasi lemak and the seafood wat tan hor are pretty good too! We will DEFINITELY be back :) *NEW FAVOURITE PLACE*
The place is busy as always so make sure to book beforehand.
We were a party of 5 and ordered their nasi lemak, kerabu fish and salted egg chicken.
The portions were quite reasonable so the 3 dishes were enough for all of us. We especially enjoyed the chicken curry in the nasi lemak, very tender and flavourful. The kerabu fish and salted egg chicken were normal.
This place is so busy on a Saturday night. We were there 6:30pm, table reserved, it was already full house. Best to book one to two weeks in advance. The staff can be so busy they don’t take calls during dinner trade. I used WhatsApp chat to book the table. Good was great and good value. Definitely will be a place to dine again for my next outing. Fast service. Clean washrooms.
We ordered the Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab and it was really tasty! Quite busy restaurant and would recommend to make a reservation.
Wonderful service and food, has a great amount of different foods which are all worth trying. Good presentation of all the food, great to visit with family, friends and even by yourself. Big variety of food.
Nice restaurant with some authentic food and flavours.
Can get a little pricey and over crowded at times
One of our favourite Malaysian restaurants, we normally takeaway from them fairly often. The food is authentic, full of flavour and comforting for when we miss Malaysia. These guys moved from their Manning location to Parkwood. Their new restaurant is renovated and has more seating available. Malaysian Dining Delight is popular, so it’s best to always make a booking in advance. We arrived at the restaurant at 11.45am on a Saturday without a reservation. They were fully booked for lunch…however, the staff member at the counter was nice enough to fit us in since we were able to finish our food fast :) .
Added photos of fried ocean fish with sauce, fried prawns with butter, fried 4 seasons vege with sambal and fried broccoli with mushrooms.(2021-08)
Unbelievable! The cost was very reasonable for 6 good and tasty dishes, and good enough for 8 persons. We ordered the two beef dishes with special 'medium rare' for both fried beef and curry beef, and they were excellent. No corkage fee for BYO wine. Good service, cosy aircon, and free car parking bays. Booking a day in advance is highly recommended for either lunch or dinner so that there will be no disappointment. Go for it mate! Cheers!
