This is our go to restaurant as my mum likes the place. The roast duck and eggplant dish are must try dishes. Only issue is the restaurant is very small and not the most comfortable place to eat. Just make sure you book as they are very busy especially on weekends. Prams are definitely best left in cars as there will not be any space for it.
Been coming here for a few years and it’s been consistently pretty good for a local restaurant. Really good roast meats and chicken. Food portion is very generous too and good value.
After hearing recommendations from a mate and decent reviews, decided to try Eureka for takeaway dinner. Ordered prawn crackers, string beans in sambal sauce with chicken mince, vegetable fried rice and fried kwai teow.
All dishes were well packed, delicious and filled us up. The kwai teow was nice and had a good smoky flavour just like in penang. The chicken was succulent and wel cooked. Did not get any acid reflux and thus felt they did not use any MSG!
No credit card surcharge either. Were very hungry hence forgot to take photos.
Looks like this will be our new local takeaway.
Overall 4 stars for quick service, good food and reasonable prices.
The must order dish is roast duck, three shredded eggplant and the steam chicken! The best in town!
The roast duck skin is so crispy and the meat are flavorful and tender!
The batter of the eggplant is so nice and crispy and the eggplant will melted in your mouth. Everyone ate this dish will thought this is fish if they didn’t know before hand!
Steam chicken is just cooked nice! Soft and tender!
Mmmm yum. Love this place. Some great authentic Cantonese style dishes. Ignore the atmosphere, you’re here for the food. Service is quick and friendly too!
There are a few dishes you have to preorder but definitely worth doing so. We have had the roast duck and the fish before, very tasty.
This time we got the fragrant chicken (fried whole chicken) - super tender and tasty, came with a great sweet dipping sauce. Also got the steamed chicken which was slippery, silky and delicious. I would’ve preferred more sesame oil in the dressing but was still tasty. Other dishes were sizzling tofu with mince meat, pretty standard dish but a good rendition. Loved the large pieces of egg in there too, they aren’t stingy! The other dish was “golden squid”, essentially salted egg yolk fried squid. Very good, not over cooked and tender, the batter was fantastic. The last dish was Mongolian beef, wasn’t my favourite as it was a little too sweet and there wasn’t much beef in it, but the beef in there was tender as well.
Definitely a great place to come, we drove 30 mins to eat here but it beats many a suburban westernised Chinese restaurant hands down.
We had a takeaway tonight and didn't receive exactly what we ordered, however the food was very tasty, the portions extremely generous. The place was also full with a queue along the street for a table. The best chinese takeaway we have had in perth to date. Look forward to eating our leftovers 😋
Its our favourite chinese restaurant. Well, their restaurant is quite old, dark, and small. Their service is just ok too. But their food is awesome. We don't have to drive to northbridge for good chinese food.
In case if you read this restaurant review just to check out which menu is good, here's our favourite and could be our default menu:
- roast duck (need to pre-order)
- steam chicken
- golden prawn (taste better than any restaurant in northbridge, IMHO)
- crispy beef
- sizzling tofu
- deep fried whole fish with ginger soy sauce (a bit pricey. good for celebration)
Their other menus are good. You can book the table, in case if you would like to dine in on weekend,
As said by others it's not the best look from the outside but I decided to grab some takeaway as I have moved in close to the restaurant. Not bad at all, am going to consider this my new last minute take away go to.
The noodles especially are tasty so would recommend a good old new goreng.
Big portion! Delicious! Especially the roast duck and signature fish (you have to pre book, if not you wont get any). It is only a tiny restaurant but the food is one of the best in Perth. Definitely Will come back again!
Another Sunday, another dinner with my partner’s family. This time, they decided to venture to Eureka Chinese Restaurant in Canning. Now this is a restaurant that from the outside does not look like much. In fact, I probably would have driven past it oblivious and not known that there was a hidden gem there. But luckily for me, I went with people who are experts in this area. The roast duck here is really good and probably one of the better ones in Perth, definitely Top 5. The duck had a lovely crispy skin and was very meaty and not fatty. We also ordered the pork belly and yam claypot which was so delicious. The pork belly was lovely and tender, the sauce was flavoursome and well seasoned, and the yam was soft but had a nice texture to it. A small and humble restaurant. Would recommend checking this place out, especially for the roast duck!
A hidden gem serving the best roast duck. It’s a must try and incredibly tender, crispy skin and flavourful meat. No need to go to Good Fortune, this is the real deal.
This is a small Chinese restaurant in the Wilson suburb. I had their takeaway for dinner. Flavour wise, some were delicious and some were just ok. Their fried salted duck egg eggplant was just so delicious. The second worth mentioning was their Mapo tofu. Service was friendly and quick.
Chef Jay was from Shanghai and chef Ray was from Hong Kong. Both of them have continued to maintain the food quality that the previous chief chef had provided. Kudo to both of them. And again we enjoyed the food here. We ordered eggplant with three shredded sauces, garlic Kai-Lan, and sizzling Japanese tofu. The food was flavourful and delicious. I will re-visit this restaurant. Cheers! (2021-11)
Just had the best roast duck in Perth
Definitely will go back again
Wow! We had the best roast duck, chicken and vegetable dishes. Simply delicious! Restaurant is small and you need to book.
One of the best Chinese restrauants I have tried here. My favourites are the claypot glass noodles with prawns, hot plate tofu, sweet and sour pork, roast duck and chicken and salted egg eggplant. Food comes out at a relatively fast pace as well. Only down side is that the place is very small so large groups may have to book before coming in. Overall very good!!
The roast duck here was very good, and the rest of the dishes were enjoyable as well. Good value and good food.
Our favourite Chinese takeaway tucked in the burbs. Delicious food and great service at an amazing price!
