Review Haweli Indian Restaurant - Perth

Briz
Firstly, I am a food lover not a critic and love/enjoy what I eat. I also do not write many reviews especially the bad ones as it may affect someone's business (especially small businesses). Having said all that, I cannot stop myself writing a review for this restaurant. I have posted some pictures which speak for themselves concerning the quality of food and ingredients used. As I had been to the restaurant myself to pick my food so I will not even comment on the hygiene standard of the kitchen/restaurant (It was substandard). Some quick points: 1. Okay if anyone has ever tried a good mint chutney, please look at the horrible coloring used in the attached pic. It was so horrible that it landed straight in the bin. 2. Now comes the Tandoori Chicken (see pic). Half cooked and horrible color used again. Legend has it that the chef has some love for the colors. Did you see my wife's hands after merely touching the chicken. The colour lasted for 2 days trust me. 3. Manchurian was awful. 4. When reached home, found that the naans were missing. Called the restaurant and the staff (lady) said "SORRY sir, next time if you visit, we will give you complimentary naans". Matter ended here. I had to cook rice :( 5. Cut the matter shot, 90% of the food landed in the bin and 10% in our stomach, which gives all of us stomachache next day. It was surely very unhealthy to eat and unpleasant to look at. I wanted to convey this personally to the owners. however, i had a flight to catch the next day overseas. I now feel light after taking this worst experience off my chest Sorry if I have sounded rude. Not going to any Haveli in Perth ever. Please do something about your standards. Do not just feed anything to people. Thank you. A very disappointed customer. P.S. The date of my takeaway was 6 September 2018. Time: 9:30 PM

I have been here twice in person and ordered twice for takeaway meals too, so what I'm writing is my experience with their food for over the past two years. Ambience: Quite noisy, however, I like that you can see their chefs from outside which is a plus point. Cleanliness standard needs to raise quite high. Flies were present on both occasions on my visit there. Food: I found they use lot of food colouring from all reviews, not sure if it's true. Their food is too spicy even if you tell them medium you get extra hot, so order accordingly. Staff: Well mannered, but not well trained. My order got stuffed up on one occasion, got oily/sticky paratha instead of rotis. Can't get my name right twice. Always on rush to hang up the phone on you while ordering over the phone. Price: Reasonable for the portion size and in-line with other comparable restaurants around the Wanneroo.

I've been going here for years, like 5 years and I'm a bit embarrassed that I haven't reviewed such a wonderful place as yet. The staff are super amazing and friendly. The food is ALWAYS consistent and scrumptious. For both my partner and I, this is like easy but filling food. No dramas always in getting the food, usually about a 15 minute wait as every meal is prepared to order and it's proven with you being able to choose whatever you'd like off the huge menu even when it comes to the lunch specials. Thank you Haweli Wanneroo team esp Danes & the chef for maintaining your kind service, great food and reasonable prices. My fav is the mutter paneer dish, trying the veg jalfrezi right now 😊

Usually I do not post reviews, but 3.9 stars is very misleading I had a very bad experiencing with the my takeaway order. 1. Ordered mild lamb sang - it was actually very hot 2. Ordered the Signature dish Octopus curry and on the menu it said Octopus was from Seychelles - It was actually the frozen baby octopus from Asia. 3. Ordered Fish Masala - I could not see the fish in the dish. Thin pieces of fish covered with thick layer of batter I am a very disappointed with the meal considering the price I paid for the dishes.

Had a birthday party at Haweli. It included two children, one 5 year old and the other 16 months. Both kids were able to eat the extremely good food. Asked for mild and it come out perfect. It was flavoursome and plenty of it. Staff were very pleasant and the open kitchen added to a great experience. They also do a great lunch deal, $12 for a curry, rice and a bottle of drink. This restaurant is an asset to Wanneroo.

Indian food is spicy. Not sweet. If we ask for mild I don't understand why the tikka masala is sweet. If it's mild it should be no hot. Simple as it is. Please don't add sugar. Still don't understand I got sweet chicken tikka masala last time when I order for a medium. Feels like a dessert. Service is excellent. One thing please don't add colour. It was in my fingers for 2 days.
Aksh Ajvalia
The food is quite great. Speed of delivery is satisfactory. Many vegetarian options. However, I noticed that they put in a lot of food colouring. My fingers literally go yellow for a few days if i eat from here.

Awesome Food, good value, very fast and friendly. I had a few of their lunch specials ( curry rice and drink for $10 ) A little light on the meat but the flavor, spice and heat of the sauce was fantastic. Will defiantly be back.

Amazing Indian food! I’ve been here many times both to dine in and take away. They’re a little on the pricey side, but it’s worth it! They’ve got a few different options that you don’t get at other Indian restaurants. The vegetable platter is really good. The service is very friendly, but the wait times are a bit longer than expected but, again, it’s worth the wait!

If you like creaminess, this fantastic DAL MAKHANI may be right the ticket for you! It is a rich, spiced stew of whole black lentils (urad dal) and rajma beans👌, traditionally cooked in Punjab region of Northern India.I NEVER FORGET TO JAZZ IT UP WITH rotis and garlic butter naans… SO YUMMY.<br/><br/>For us, NAAN-obsessed …<br/><br/>Crispy, garlic fragrant NAAN with these soft, almost sponge-like texture and charred, crispy edges is one of my favourite add ups to an Indian lunch 🤤👌<br/>Naan originates from northern India, where it's a central part of the cuisine in areas like Punjab and Kashmir. It is not so popular in the rest of India, as many could think. It's actually the chapati or the roti that is more prevalent throughout India. <br/>Naan cooking is quite different from usual bread making. It is made of flour, yeast, baking powder, milk and yoghurt.<br/>The secret of a GOOD NAAN is YOGHURT, which makes it really soft. Milk instead provides for these lovely charred crispy edges.texture. <br/>The other secret is to stretch the dough (almost like Italian pizzaioli manage their pizza dough with their hands)m so that it gets an airy and stretchy texture.<br/><br/>I may love to go into the details of naan cooking etc but I still do not feel like cooking it myself. It is still a prohibited zone for me..

One of the best Indian restaurants in Perth and great for local takeaway. The butter chicken is amazing and their Lamb Kohlapuri is friggen hot! Even for a chilli-buff like myself it was pretty intense. Worth a try for sure.

Haweli has some pretty decent food, I really like the garlic naan bread. All the other dishes are stock standard Indian food. For me, not as good as Chullah but still a good spot.

We go to Haweli very often, almost every week. The service is excellent, friendly staff, and definitely the best curry (butter chicken) I've ever had. Highly recommended.
Stephen Garrett
Over an hour there and we were still waiting for our entrées to come out. Seeing so many others get there after us, finish their mains and leaving before our main course come out. Got there at 7 and what we thought was going to be a kind of a quickish meal so we can get home and have the rest of the night to do valentines stuff, didnt end up leaving there to 9.45.<br/>Waitress was running around doing work whilst 3 others looked like they were doing nothing behind the counter.<br/>Food was average. Staff were unapologetic. Wont be going back there again.
Dakota
Oh my gosh yum!!! I was so hesitant to order after reading online reviews and seeing the stores overall rating, but I'm so glad I did. It was a little pricey, but the food was amazing! I had the chicken korma and it was the best korma I've tasted. Would definitely recommend 10/10!! :)

Haweli is one of the best Indian restaurants you can visit here in Perth. We went down here for Father's Day and ordered a wide range of dishes to eat. We were amazed by the flavour each dish had to offer. Boys and girls please check this place out. We strongly recommend this place. Staff are very pleasant and friendly and the food is out of the world.
Amanda
Usually come here to order for takeaway, it used to be $10 for the curry, rice + drink but they've since increased the price to $13.95.. It is still a big portion of rice and they now provide an option between the rice and 2 plain naans. Would still like to see more meat if they were to increase the price by $3.95. Flavours and service are still pretty good though!

Dined here last week with the wife. Wasn't sure what to expect from 'just another Indian restaurant in a strip mall'. Decor was nice and clean, but not inspiring or homely. The kitchen is open and next to the dining area which adds a nice experience seeing the food being cooked fresh. We ordered chicken korma and lamb rogan josh, both were amazing. Korma was creamy and tasty - didn't have that straight-from-the-jar taste like most places. Would have picked the bowl if I could. Naan was amazing. Definitely our go-to place for mid week dinner!
Stephiiv
This place has the best butter chicken I have ever had the sauce is amazing!! The $10 lunch special is great value. I have only ever had one bad experience where I ordered a mild curry and it was so hot I couldn't finish eating it, other than that the food is always perfect.
Katie Girl
The curry here is delicious! It is genuinely hot which I love. Service is efficient, although it's always been quiet when I've been there. They do takeaways too. I don't know if they have it all the time but I had a ten dollar lunch special which included a curry and rice one Friday. On occasions I've thought the curry was a little light on meat but there's plenty of delicious sauce which would probably be good if you got a side dish or naan bread to have with it.

Good choice for a casual meal or takeaway. Good flavours, large serving sizes, solid range of dishes. This is our default local restaurant and it rarely fails to meet expectations. Samosas, biryani, and Lamb Kohlapuri are good bets. The only real failing however, is the seafood. I wouldn't bother trying the fish or prawns.

Have been to Haweli quite a few times now (Wanneroo branch). Every time it's been just okay, the food is flavoursome, but lacks substance (meat, veggies etc.) it's also very expensive in comparison to much better curry places (Sangeet in Joondalup), and the service is without fail below average and always slow.<br/>However the samosas are good!<br/>
Bill Bloggs
Went to Haweli last night. Had the non vegetable platter. The fish was green? The rest if the platter was rubber chicken and a gristly kebab.<br/>Chicken vindaloo was so salty we had to leave it and the mushroom mutter was tasteless. The fresh naan though were red hot and tasty.<br/>Curry used to be a cheap meal but at $98 with 2 beers and a glass of red it certainly isnt. Will l go again? Definately not. Money is too hard to earn to waste on rubbish.
Joe Chivers
Been here for lunch and dinner a few times! The lunch special is great for $10 and certainly better then some of its neighbours! Really tasty food and definitely worth a visit.

Thali. Lunch specials - comes with 3 curries, rice, naan and dessert/raita<br/><br/><br/>-----11 May, 2015-----<br/><br/>Bharra Kebab. Lamb chops marinated over night and cooked on skewers in tandoor<br/><br/><br/>-----11 May, 2015-----<br/><br/>Raam-E-Haweli. Haweli signature dish(serves 2) - lamb leg marinated in spices and garlic and roasted served with Indian gravy

Manner less service. Unhygienic. I had left over food and told them to pack it off please. She put curry vessel on top of the rice directly. When I said is it how you do it? She said yes. Which is totally manner less and Unhygienic. The vessel on the rice was on the table and they do not have any table cover though. So they clean take with the chemical and that touches the curry vessel which was on the rice. She did not even apologies. but she said have you got issue with that? Which is so rude. I think she pay money to smile. Doesn't even smile at customer. ... Not recommended at all. We pay the full money and we deserve the right thing. Not only one restaurant in wanneroo ....100s more Out there.. Not even cleaned restaurant...

Tasty. Takeaway on a weeknight. Ordered Chicken Korma and Raan e Haweli, rice, naan and two kulfi.<br/>Preferred the Korma to the Raan (lamb dish). Korma was perfect, couldn’t fault it. The Lamb was nice but a bit bland despite the sauce. Kulfi was delicious, especially the pistachio one. They seemed small but such a rich flavour.<br/>Although we ordered takeaway, the décor and ambience is cosy and inviting. You can see the food being prepared which is nice, but its not intrusive or noisy. Service was very pleasant and friendly. A little more expensive than some other nearby options, but Haweli was good quality and definitely a strong local option.

Delicious and great value for money!. We love this restaurant. The staff are always friendly and the food is plentiful and great value. Thank you - we will be back!

YUM!!!. Came today with a scoopon voucher for a thali meal for 2 for lunch.<br/>It was amazing both my mum and myself struggled to finish but everything tasted fantastic. <br/>the service was great and nice and close to home. will definitely be back.<br/>Thanks you.
Jarrad Norman-Parker
I definitely recommend this restaurant. Service was great and the food is amazing. I love Indian for taste, texture and aromas.. You can't fault it.
Brett
Not very impressed with service. Even when they have admitted fault do nothing to compensate. Don't get me wrong I live local and love their butter chicken, prob the best I've eaten. But when you phone an order and we're told it would be 20mins to then rock up 20mins later and they haven't even started cooking your meal. So you then have to wait another 20mins is NOT IMPRESSIVE. And the worse part is they weren't busy. 4 tables seated and only two other takeaways that I noticed in the time I was forced to sit and wait.. Maybe a lesson for the owner(s) improve your customer service. And this ain't the first time I've had to wait just the first time I've complained.
Mon
Awesome!. Excellent service, great food and flavours, definately will go back again!

Yummy. First time here. lovely Indian food. enjoyed the vegetarian dumplings. naan was burnt but otherwise great service and very tasty.

We ate there last night. The service was wonderful and the meals were delicious. Definitively among the best Indian restaurants in Perth. I shall eat there again happily.

OUTSTANDING Dined here las.... OUTSTANDING <br/>Dined here last night on a voucher deal as an introduction to this restaurant...<br/>Absolutely fantastic... Both my partner and I enjoyed the meal and believe me we do know a lot about Indian cuisine.... Strongly recommend a visit... Lastly a special thank you to Danesh our waitress for the evening.... Very attentive service and a very pleasant nature ... Thank you
Steve
Very good, reviews seem to vary so much ?. We went last night 2 adults 1 child with a scoopon type thing, food was excellent, service was great.<br/>We could not finish all our meal we where so full, we took 1 curry home with us.<br/>The décor, i'm not sure, maybe its the tables, its OK, maybe its just me...... I guess its a personal thing.<br/>I did like that the table water seemed to be filtered as I could not detect the normal "tap water" taste, it was cold and refilled without asking which is nice. I hate warm/cool table water.<br/>The waitress was very friendly and smiled, food was served in a timely fashion.<br/>I really could not fault the food, all piping hot, tasty and a lot of it. <br/>We got home and bought another voucher that evening ! <br/>I will still go there for a meal with or without a voucher next time we want Indian food.<br/>I went to the Haweli in Northbridge, food still nice but poor and slow service.<br/>Top marks for Wanneroo !<br/>One more thing, I did really like that the kitchen is in the restaurant area so you can watch them cooking if you want to.

Steve. First time, about a year ago, had a great curry with my family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed it, but 6 months ago ordered take away and got gristley chicken floating in a brown gravy masquerading as madras and my wife got the same thing but hers was supposed to be korma and the breads were tasteless and chewy. But we are both very laid back and easy going as regards to food, so tonight we go to the restaurant to order a takeaway, all good until we get home, NO RICE and the food is just as bad as the first time we purchased it. $68 for tonight's poop plus$100 for the first 2 meals. .....nearly $200 for chicken and gravy with a dash of curry powder....WTF !!!!!!!!
Andy
Best in Perth for $. Fantastic authentic food! Must try the garlic naan and butter chicken. Have been to this restaurant weekly getting the same portions whether you dine in or get takeaway. Clean venue, friendly staff, amazing food for the price you pay. Would recommend for you to try.
Thelolab
All Sauce no Meat. I ordered 5 dishes and had a hard time finding anything but sauce :-(<br/>In the whole large butter chicken there were only 6 pieces of diced chicken and about the same for the other dishes.<br/>Normally 5 large dishes is a big enough order for 3 adults (with leftovers) but in this case there wasn't even enough for 1. <br/>I ended up freezing the sauce and adding meat to it another time<br/>NOT WORTH EVEN HALF THE PRICE
Slingsby107
Wanneroo. Yuk yuk yuk had a take away I have never tasted such a tasteless vindaloo it just tasted like burnt pot and then cooked in Tom sauce , I complained and got my money back I will never eat there again!!!!
Leeanne Hudspith
1st time visit to this restuarant, try the Fish Amritasari generous serving and quality fish Mmmmm, will definately have this again. Service was superb & comfortable restuarant environment. Will be back for another try
Carol
Stingy serves, overpriced, mainly inedible pieces of gristly beef or fatty overcooked chicken swimming in runny gravy and obviously the chef or is it a cook? only knows HOT and not medium or mild. Why do they ask if not going to adhere to what you request? A long trip there and we ended up leaving near full plates, did not even want to take home. Disgusting place, and we headed off to a wonderful dinner at Alfreds in Guildford. Thank goodness the quality there is always consistently great.

I miss rohit chief
Kiwijuice
Do not go here, way overpriced for the portion size I ordered the tikka masala which was decent, the rice portion was very small and a naan bread that was as burnt as an albino who's fallen asleep on the beach. Not impressed and Will not be back
Susan
Disappointed. I ordered takeout from this restaurant last night and was very disappointed. I felt it was very overpriced. Main courses were $19.95 and then the rice was an extra $4.95 per portion. The main courses were mostly sauce. Both dishes were made with chicken thighs which was quite fatty and rubbery. In the end we gave up and threw it in the bin. It was nearly $65 for 2 main courses 3 rice and 2 naan bread. Should have gone to Hungry Jacks next door. Wont be going back.

$10 lunch specials cannot be beaten. Generous potions with a drink. Both my husband and I crave haweli on a Sunday afternoon and it always hits the spot. Curries are beautiful and we always get the butter chicken and lamb rogan josh. We have never eaten a night from here as the prices are a bit steep but overall this is a fortnightly treat we love forward too.
Nlmeldrum
Not so flash. Have had Indian much better than what we had from Haweli - very stingy with the meat amount and everything was very tomatoey!<br/>Won't go back as very pricey for what you get.
RhiRhi
Absolutely beautiful food!! You can choose your heat rating for all dishes..<br/>Kashmiri nan bread to die for
Grant King
Yuck. Tastes like hungry jacks
Don't Go
Ordered over $80 of food only to find a few pieces of meat swimming in tubs of sauce. Have had a lot of Indian food and apart from being way over priced for what you get, did not even like it. Now I know why I have never seen anybody ever dining in this restaurant.
Sara
Went there by chance after buying some stuff up north. I have to say I really enjoyed the beef saag (spinach based gravy) and beef korma a lot. Nice little gem in Wanneroo.
KR
Very quiet at Wanneroo restaurant which made us concerned about the quality of food. The service was attentive and the food was great. Good flavours and portion size. Cost us $90 for 2 starters, 2 mains, plain rice, popodams and 2 naans. More than enough for a family of 4 (2 young kids). I think this is quite pricey. To sum up: good food. Good service. Slightly over priced. Worth a try!
Samantha
I first tried $10 combo simply love the food. Enough to satisfy single appetite best Indian food I ever had. I would love to have dine in here to enjoy good straight from kitchen highly recommend.
Kiara
I really liked it, nice decor delicious food, very good service, satisfactory portion size, love it completely.
Ryan
Really DISAPPOINTED. Had a .... Really DISAPPOINTED.<br/>Had a takeaway tonight and asked for mild Kadhai paneer and they gave us spicy hot dish. Couldn't really eat and enjoy my dinner. Not going back again. <br/><br/><br/>Please make sure you double check with them what you asking for.
Ben Cunningham
Fantastic!!!. I had the butter chicken and chicken tika..wow..amazing!
LinDa
Worst service ever tasteless and watery curries chewy naan never ever go to haweli
Andrea
Disapointing. Dined at this restaurant tonight with hubby and we won't be back. Garlic naan bread burnt one side, dried and not fresh garlic used but those dried granule garlic sprinkled on the Naan. Mains were very poor a few bits of meat floating in large amounts of sauce. I'm suspicious that the sauce formthe curries is not freshly prepared but in fact factory mass produced. We Have travelled through India and enjoyed immensley the fresh curries. There is no way this restaurant s curreys came close in quàlity of flavour that we had at the many restaurants dined in while in India!!
Ken Boon
British curry fans, your prayers answered. The restaurant inside is basic, but the food is fantastic. Like back in the uk they bring the poppadoms and condiments over straight away. This includes mint yogurt, mango chutney and lime pickle. The mains are great had lots of different dishes and every time the meat has been really good, no shitty cuts etc.<br/>Even better if you go at lunch time and get a full main, nann bread or rice for ONLY $12, yep that's right $12 in Perth!

Haweli Indian Restaurant. We have eaten as a family of 4 with kids 8 and 11 about 5 times now. Mostly it has been a great experience, the butter chicken and the garlic naan a definite favourite.<br/>Once we had a long wait on our naan bread, another time they forgot our rice and yes the last time the curry tasted a bit burnt. But our positives have far outweighed the negatives. Lets just hope they read these reviews and try to improve as the food is normally great!

Absolutely Delightful. I had the pleasure of experiencing the food from Haweli earlier this week and I must say that this is the best Indian food I have ever tasted.! I have been to so many Indian restaurants in Perth and Haweli was by far the best. <br/>For my starter I had onion bhaji and it was so fresh and full of spices I would recommend this to anyone.<br/>For my main I had butter chicken and it was just the perfect combination of curry and succulent chicken pieces, my mouth is watering now just writing this review as it was that good! <br/>And to top it off the staff were so friendly and attentive I felt right at home and I will for sure be going back again and again for the fabulous food! <br/>i highly recommend Haweli to all food lovers as I am sure you will enjoy the food there as much as I did!!!!! <br/>10 out of 10!!
Searchindia
Take away..not to eat in. We thought the food was well priced, nice menu, good taste but the servings were a bit small given the container size and too much fat in general.<br/>Would like to give a second chance.<br/>The eating space is cold, no music, no comfort and looks like a CAFE!!
Nets B
Gorgeous. I regularly get my Beef Vindaloo and rice fix from here of a lunch time. The lunch time special is very good value at only $10 to takeaway and that includes a can of drink too, it is always really tasty with plenty of meat. The staff are always corteous and polite and I would highly recommend.
Kate
Great Indian! Also delivery to my area is only $4 what a bargain! Food was at great prices and very fresh! Only minor criticism is meat was in large chunks so I needed to cut it, not a big deal! Also the restaurant was nicely layed if people prefer dine in experiences!
Annie91
Food was delicious!. The food was wonderful! Craved curry one day so went here with a friend. We had the beef vindaloo and butter chicken, both were really great dishes, we had it hot and it was perfect. The service was also great, and staff were very friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant :)
Mike Cormack
Wow! Two of us shared a beef, a lamb and a chicken dish plus naan. Flavour off the charts in every dish! Generous portions and swift service both pluses and we loved the open kitchen. Will be back for sure
Gina B
Very Disappointing. Tried a takeaway from here mid April, it was not good at all. Chicken Tikka Massala was like chicken in a tomato based sauce and chicken thigh not breast, with nothing else, the Beef Korma was tough pieces of a cheap cut of beef, chewy. Rogan Josh was pretty much the same as the Korma, in fact the dishes all tasted much the same, more like stews than curries and lots of sauce but not a lot of meat in any of the dishes. The Naan bread was like an old wet blanket, it just broke apart and was thin and tasteless. Knew it wasn't a good sign when on a Saturday night at 7pm the restaurant was completely empty! We nearly didn't bother, wish we hadn't.
Karen
Dont waste your money. No wonder there was not a single person eating in the restaurant, clearly the owners dont care why there are no customers. We ordered takeaway having never been before but hearing good things. We ordered 3 meat dishes,Naan and 2 rice, we nearly died when she asked for $74 seeing how the containers are only half the size you would get at a chinese restaurant takeaway. I dont know how 4 people were suppose to somehow share 3 peices of microscopic chicken. The other 2 dishes were just sauce. The flavours were great but who is going to pay $74 for saucy rice. The naan was burnt on one side of every peice. We called immediately to complain and they treated us like crap. The "chef" even got on the phone and had a go at us for complaining! No refund no apology, no meal. We ended up driving back down to McDonalds to get a real meal. Would NEVER return to such an arrogant establishment & wont be suprised when it goes broke in a few months.
Chris
I had take away a few months ago and it wasn't any good tough meat and too much sauce. Went back for lunch to give it another go and was pleasantly surprised. The goat curry was very good and the dishes had improved a lot since our previous experience. Will definitely be back
Robb
Has not disappointed!. We love the food at Haweli. Incredible Butter Chicken and the Dahl Mahkni and the Naan are first rate. Best Indian by far that we have tasted in Perth. Lovely staff and a really beautiful restaurant. We are loyal fans!!

Great service, great food. Great quiet night out for a couple or suitable for a group outing with BYO and enough space for a laugh or two. Recommend it to everyone.

A little secret gem. Wow! I've had a craving for indian food for a while but have found no where worth while.. until now! <br/>Consistently delicious, fresh and flavoursome indian cuisine. Will definitely be going back again. <br/><br/>The chicken tikka masala was packed full of flavour and the chicken was perfectly cooked, I just wish there was a bit more sauce. The beef Rogan Josh was absolutely scrumptious, a few more pieces of beef (which was so tender that it fell apart) would have made it perfect, this is the best I've tried.<br/><br/>The serving dishes are fitting to the style of restaurant and look beautiful. New restaurant with a modern decor and very clean. It was great having the kitchen right in front of us so we could see that our food was fresh and the interesting way it was prepared. <br/>The dishes may look average sized when ordered, though they have a bottomless feel to them. <br/>Staff are very friendly, polite and informative. <br/>A little pot of gold.
Sharon
OMG. I was so happy when this restaurant opened, I couldnt wait to try it out............however apart from the staff who were attentive, smiling & just lovely, that was it. The food was slush in a bowl. I had tandoori chicken (I think) It was more like soup. No chicken to speak of. The taste was bland, or no taste at all, to me it was more like soup from a can with pepper to taste. I would not recommend this place for a hearty meal. My friend ordered the Kadhai Chicken, this was meant to be spicy, she also described it as soup. To top it off the roti bread we ordered was black (burnt) on one side - of course not the side that was presented to us. All I can say is I was totally let down. I would not take anyone again to this place. The tables are also too close together, I dont want to hear what the table next to me is talking about. I do hope that the owners dont take this to heart as the staff are great, it's more the food, perhaps put some meat in those saucepans you serve customers in. To me it just didnt feel like I was at an Haweli Indian Restaurant.

7 / 10. Ordered takeaway - service was impeccable! Lovely staff and apologetic for 'making me wait' a standard takeway time. Delicious entree although have no idea what it was called -- basically a spinach and cheese mixture called 'kebabs' (patties) that were amazing!! Had beef rogan josh as a main - the sauce was delicious and the serving size decent although the meat was a bit flavourless (tasted like chuck steak that I would casserole myself). The garlic naan was delicious! Would try other mains aside from the beef.

James and daughter and boyfriend. We tried to go to the Indian in Beaumaris Shops that gets all the reviews as daughter had a Indian craving. Not open Thursday 13/10/11 don't know why.<br/>So tried the Haweli, good service, good naan bread, lovely cold filtered water, kitchen right there so you could watch and lovely and clean. A prawn dish, butter chicken, beef rogan josh, and the donut ball things in syrup, cool drink.<br/>Complaints none.<br/>Service excellent and very friendly.<br/>Food good.<br/>Price very reasonable $80 and daughters boyfriend wouldn't let me pay.<br/>Go check it out, James.

Best Indian Food in Perth. Amazing Food. Tried Chicken tikka(entree), Chicken tikka masala, Paneer Jalfarezi, Phool Makhane & Cashews(will not find this one anywhere in Perth, Best option for Vegeterians) and Palak Panner. Couldn't fault anything.. Simply amazing.

The best Indian food in Perth. Wow i Did not know how good Indian could taste until we came to Haweli. We had the chicken Tika masala and beef korma and some paratha bread. The best curries I ever had. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. I totally recommend this resturant to anyone wanting the best Indian food in Perth. It's well worth the drive even if you are coming from south of the river. P.S another thing I really liked about this resturant is the open planed style lay out of the kitchen and dining blended together to form one area where you can watch the Chefs cooking your meals on the tandoori ovens.

Had take away tonight. Had four different dishes and all were yum but the lamb kebab could have done with a bit of yoghurt or sauce and the naan was a bit dry and burnt. It was a tad pricey, but in hindsight did over order and have heaps of left overs for lunch! All in all, I will be back. Good job and a nice new addition to the area.

Best chicken biryani. It was last night with my friends at Haweli we tried chicken biryani chicken tikka masala. service was so nice staff is so friendly and loved ambience specially the open kitchen through which everything seems so interesting.

I know it's a new restaurant but the food was terrible and so was their service. About the open indian kitchen - I don't think the owners thought much as there is too much noise from the kitchen chef cooking, staff talking and someone washing dishes, so much so we could barely hear each other. All in all a bad experience. 1.5 starts from us for prices that is

We soak up the tasty sauce with an onion and potato kulcha (Tandoori Bread) which was something new to me and I thought it was absolutely delicious ($6). We’re both full to busting and there’s plenty left over. We could have easily fed three people.
