Review Betty And Dave's - Perth

Grabbed a coffee from here yesterday, (dirty chai) wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Service was very average, no smiles just a quick can I help you.... might have to go back for breaky or something to try get them stars up. ✌🏽

Was very impressed by my first dine-in experience here. There was a lovely early morning atmosphere and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The serving size for breakfast was generous and the coffee was one of the best around. Will definitely be back soon.

The outside looked country style: relaxing & friendly. The young waitress was also friendly & very helpful. We ordered the $10 coffee & tasty toastie special, simply because I cannot bring myself to pay such high prices for a simple breakfast. When are Perth cafes going to wake up!!!!

Attended 9am Saturday for takeaway coffee and mini brioche bacon and egg roll Price: expensive! Parking: little to none at the back of the building (4 bays) Atmosphere: louder than usual for cafe Vibe: pretentious Seating: compacted Food: nice but overcomplicated Staff: stressed and confused Noticed they still had the Safe WA contact register out that was dated back a few months. Personal information was on display and the table/paper was dusty. Kitchen visible from the road - looks compacted it's no wonder they struggle to pump out the orders. Otherwise OK coffee based on strength and taste.. ordered a regular flat while that took too long and was half full. Sorry guys

Betty and Dave’s is a great spot for take-away coffee and goods (wraps/ sandwiches etc). I have tried dining in twice over the last six months (getting the chilli scrambled eggs both times) and both times my meal took ~45 minutes to arrive due to some sort of mistake/ error both times. The meal is ok but considering it’s quite expensive compared to other places, not great. The staff are very very friendly and I like supporting small businesses so thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt after the first experience but left a little disappointed again. In summary: nice staff and great take away options, but wouldn’t recommend dine in.

I came here with a friend. We enjoyed the healthy food options, including the vegetarian meal with beetroot, feta cheese, and greens. It's a lovely place to park your bike, as well as sit and enjoy the music.

Love sunny morning BLT and coffe.at this charming little Cafe.

Best service in Perth, the team at Betty and Dave’s are incredible. No frills, delicious breakfasts, coffee is off the richter. I don’t know what Taylah does to those toasties, man, but they taste like love and my childhood home ♥️
Harsh But Fair
Noisy location, average coffee and fairly pricey for what they offer. Will no doubt struggle now due to Clifton and Central opening, however, the posers who finish at the gym and like to stand out on beaufort street flexing while drinking a soy latte topped up will likely keep them ticking along.

Really nice coffee! Love that they open at 6.30am... allows me to grab a takeaway on the way to the golf course. Service is friendly and easy parking (at that time of day).

this is where i walk to in order to get a morning coffee, and then the other morning hubby suggested we have breakie here... i had a superb indian inspired sweet potato rosti with cauliflower (as it should be), perfect eggs and of all things bacon. the dish was exceptional, perfectly presented and it took a while, no bad thing, flavour was balanced and thought about, the whole dish sang. the coffee here is excellent and its a quirky fun place, run by committed great people

Could be the caffeine withdrawal talking but I think this place does the best soy flat white I've ever had. Will be back to see what else they have on offer 👏

Great cafe in Inglewood, coffee was strong and they didn’t charge extra for soy which is rare by Perth’s standards. Food was very tasty and promptly delivered by attentive wait staff. My wife had the potato rosti and I had the eggs Benedict with salmon. Very tasteful and beautiful prepared. My own gripe was that the serving size was a tad small. Other cafes in the area seem to do larger servings with either more bread or more protein.

☕️ Oh wow! Amazing coffee, muffins and service! Quite a cool little corner of Inglewood.
💵 Average cost, not bad for a decent cup of coffee.
🙋🏻‍♀️Service was superb.
🍃 Trendy, a little kitsch. Love it.
👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Family friendly.
🚘 Lots of parking nearby, but be prepared to walk a few minutes to cafe front door.
👍🏻 Overall, a nice spot to catch up for a cuppa.

Staff were really great. Their service was friendly. A really nice variety with plenty of choice. Food fantastic. Complements to the chef. Will return.

Quirky cafe , easy parking and very spacious inside. I had the homemade crumpet with beans and it was delicious but it could have been bigger . He had the French toastie with an egg and that was lovely. She had the vegetarian toasted focaccia with chips and that was ok too . Service was friendly. Coffee was nice and strong 😀

Good little breakfast cafe on the corner of Beaufort n central ave. I come here every now and then as it's close to home. The potato roasti breakfast and big breakfast are both tasty and a good serve. Last time I went the food did take a while to come out despite it being midweek and not busy. The coffee is ok. I like that there is a nice little seating area outside.

Cute cafe. Very friendly staff and fast, efficient service. Dog friendly. Baguette was extremely tasty and fresh, not sure why it was served with oily potato chips, was more of a let fmdown than a nice addition. The toasted brioche was dry and the ham wasn't the best.

Love Betty. Love Dave. Food is fresh and coffee is so good. A great space to hang out in and staff make you feel very welcome. Inside and outside tables. Grab one in the sunshine in the morning. A delight!

My fav place to get a local coffee when not working in the industry myself. Service is always with a smile, and they too support other local cafes/bars..

Always great service here with yummy fresh food and good coffee. Classic menu plus lots of cabinet treats. Favourite local place for brekky!
Sean Fitzy
Came here for a quick brekky, the service was rather slow and the actual interior is very small and dark. Only a single window in the inside areas. The food serving is small. Coffee took about 10 minutes to come out. Probably wouldn't return
Ruth S
Great friendly service. Amazing food! Had the poached egg with avo on sourdough- delicious. Really good coffee! Can't wait to go back and taste amazing looking homemade cakes.

Disappointing breakfast. You don't expect to get waffles from a packet when you order. They were hard and flavourless. For the price you pay they should be freshly made.
Coffee and service were great.
Dough Nut
This is a lovely calm, quiet cafe despite being located on a busy intersection. We had delicious breakfasts - the spring seasonal version of rosti is wonderful. Coffee and service were good and the retro decor and feel are achieved without compromising on quality.
Looking forward to trying other dishes. The prepared sandwiches and brioche burgers on display look appetising.
PacMan
With the happy canine in the sun and a warm reception from the team at B&Ds our brunch was a very enjoyable experience.

The potato rosti and pulled pork with slaw and sourdough were the choices of the morning. And while the pulled pork was excellent in just about every way (with sweet Beetroot topping off the flavours) I personally felt the rosti was a little lacking. The pesto contributed well but appeared in sufficiently little quantity to positively effect to outcome.

But overall a very enjoyable experience - always good to find a dog and foodie friendly combination.

Lovely bunch of people working at this delightful super doggy friendly cafe. Service was faultless. I did however find the prices expensive, and I'm not one to complain about price. Luckily portion size was adequate. Agree with previous reviewer comment about dirty water glasses, however restaurant and facilities were clean. Great selection of tasty looking baked goods on display however we'd already indulged in a pre breakfast donut. I had planned to go for the jaffle waffles however the online menu is not current. Went for the potato rosti and what I thought was braises beef but dining partner insists was pulled pork. Whatever it was, they were happy with it. Mine was ok. Nice. Nothing mind blowing. Felt like something was missing to tie in all the ingredients. I'd revisit to try their waffles dish when it's not PB!
Michelle
The chocolate and caramel muffin was really good. The coffee is also good. The waffles were alright. The staff are friendly. It has an interesting atmosphere, with a choice of a few areas in which to sit. The menu has enough variation, and there's a decent amount of sides options from which you could make a satisfactory meal at reasonable cost.

Love Betty and Daves, our new local favourite! Yummy coffee, yummy soup and yummy caramel slice! And you feel at home there and the staff are very nice and remember everything you ask. Keep it up guys!
Salt N Magic
Fantastic place for brekky. Good size meals and prices comparable to other brekky cafes. Friendly staff. Coffee was great. Nice atmosphere too. It has a good mix of standard breakfast fare along with a few out of the box meals. We had the bad boy benedict and braised pork and both were outstanding. The only thing to let it down were the dirty looking glasses and water bottle.

My favourite place to eat in Inglewood. Great menu excellent service. Highly recommended the Rosti a sweet potato rosti with poached eggs. The home made "Posh Pie " is also a winner. Coffee is very good. Do yourself a favor
OnePointFive
Betty & Dave's cafe got that homey atmosphere. Even though they only have two staffs on the floor, they're friendly and smiley. Lucky we arrived just before lunch time, otherwise we had to wait quite long for the food to arrive. Food presentation didn't wow us, but they got big flavours. It'll be good if they can improve their plating and not hiding all the good stuffs under greens. Wild Mushrooms were delicious. Braised Beef got generous amount of juicy beef and house made wholegrain mustard sauce. They use Five Senses coffee beans, one of my favourites. There were a lot of pre made pastries and rolls in display cabinet as well as some breads, muffins and cakes. I am keen to go back and try their beautiful looking waffle dish. One thing I regretted was sitting inside, close to kitchen area instead of outside section. When we left, we got that smokey smell sticking on our clothes. Lesson learned, better sit outside next time.

Great cosy place for brunch! We ordered the pan fried gnocchi and sweet potato rosti. Both had quite abit going on, on the plate with different flavours and was absolutely delicious. We're glad they offered something more exciting than the usual Big Brekky/ Eggs Benedict menu! Coffee was good, but could be stronger.
Bottomlesspit
Sweet little cafe. Nothing fancy. The coffee was beautiful and the lady at the counter was really friendly. The take away food range was your typical rolls, sandwiches and bagels and they had a good cake selection as well. I don't know if I would be pulled to go back here though.
Boogiebop
I've been there before and especially on a weekend, the place has a great vibe to it. The food's delicious and the menu smacks of originality and innovativeness. I like going there. Recently I went with two friends to have coffee and chat on a weekday - wasn't crowded at all. Desperation and anxiety will never sell as colognes because they're not pleasant odours. This time we felt it coming off some of the staff including the manager. We were there on a icy winter's morning to chat, catch up and have convivial coffees. Unfortunately the three of us were under the impression that we were being pressured to order more. We went for normal coffees but there was a pleasant, gentle urging to upgrade to mugs. Okay, fair enough. From the very start we were asked if we wanted to order breakfast (which we didn't). Sat down and we were asked again because one of us was browsing the menu. And then we were asked again later. We chatted, cafe still not crowded and as our coffees were only half finished we were asked if we wanted another coffee. Let's face it - the owners have staff to pay for, rents to pay for, good chefs to pay for and profits to gain and thus make it all worthwhile. But guys, don't let your desperation and push selling get ahead of you and drive your fans away. We will be back 'cos we like the place. We won't be if we keep smelling desperation. Eggs Ben is superb, as is the rosti and are the counter display food. In fact everything's delish except the anxiety.Just an afterthought - sometimes I wish the girlfriend wasn't with me when I'm there. Two of the waitresses have SENSATIONAL arses (and they know it). Kinda hard not to be caught looking if the woman in your life's with you. Good reason to come back though :D

This is my local cafe and every time I walk in I remember why I love it so much! Friendly service, great food and great coffee! There are so many nooks you can sit in - it feels new every time I visit!

Great little cafe -very friendly staff and excellent service. We ordered poached eggs with a side of mushrooms-poached eggs were perfect ! Mushrooms were not enjoyable at all they needed to be seasoned 😒 coffees were delicious 😊 would definitely go back to try something different

Sweet potato rosti with bacon, leak and rocket salad. Thought it was a strange breakfast item, but it worked! I practically licked the plate clean. My partner had scrambled eggs, he thought they were a little 'runny', but I think scrambled eggs are a very individual personal taste. Meals were well presented on very pretty crockery.

We both ordered a couple of coffees; I always have almond milk where I can get it and sometimes this is a disaster - Betty and Dave's have got it right.

Service was really friendly, and food didn't take too long to arrive despite the fact that they were very busy. I saw how well they treated a mum with her two restless kiddies, that was lovely to see.

See you next time :)

The Salmon Nicoise - Anchovy dill mayo goes so well with the salad.
The Braised Beef - Divine!
Flat white coffee by 5 senses. Lunch was amazing, not too heavy just nice for lunch.
Friendly service. Highly recommended! Well done Betty and Dave!

Fabulous food, coffee and the best service you'll find on Beaufort St. My fav is the pumpkin hummus on toast with poached eggs. What a great addition to Inglewood.
Food Glorious Food
All I can say is WOW! At last somewhere where the staff actually provided you with fantastic service and the food was exactly the same. Forget the bullish#t we are in mt Lawley crap down the road and head to inglewood. Take note Mt Lawley you've lost your polish and Betty and Dave's have it😃
Nicole
What this place gets SO right ....the coffee, the service and the food is great too. Take note other local cafés, what sealed the deal is they let me order a half serve of eggs (I can only eat small portions due to a medical issue). You would not think this is a big deal but NO other Mt Lawley or Inglewood local will do this. For someone who eats out regularly with my large family, this is something that makes a difference. Only downside for me was it was a little warm. Maybe work on that aircon. Very refreshing to have such consistent friendly service.

Although coffee is good it takes so long - we waited 15 minutes for two coffees and it really didn't seem too busy, when we were given the coffee the women just placed it on the bench in front of us didn't check to see who's was who's which is always nice and didn't apologise for the long wait ( I would consider 15 mins for takeaway coffee a long wait) Sorry guys- just minor details as far as service is concerned and the rating would have been higher as I really did enjoy the coffee! Wont be back for a while!

I was keen to try this new spot in Inglewood, having watch it transition over many months from its tired antique shop incarnation to a light, bright cafe. There is an outdoor terrace area – though very hot in the afternoon – and a few separate zones inside, starting with the main counter area at the front, complete with stools, fluro pink coffee machine and a takeaway coffee window. The last zone inside near the kitchen has a large table and would be suitable for a group. I loved the collection of ceramic ducks on the wall in the middle zone – I’ve never seen this many flying ducks (on a wall) before!

Visited this place and was totally whisked away into a vintage cafe!

The cafe which is named after the owners grandparents transports you back to their time as you enter a cafe filled with antiques to creates the feeling of the era.

The coffee and food are great, beautiful taste and lovely presentation makes a great combination with friendly staff and owner!
Lifelovetravelfood
What a great new addition to Perth's cafe scene! I love the decor and interior of Betty and Dave's plus there's plenty of seating both inside and out. The staff are friendly and helpful, offering our group a bigger table when one became available.

The coffee is really good and they have almond milk - hooray! I had the quinoa bircher muesli which was packed with all sorts of delicious bits. Strawberries, apple, chia, coconut milk, dried fruits and seeds - yum!! The menu has an excellent selection of healthy options and naughty things to suit all tastes, including younger diners! I really enjoyed my visit and would be happy to return to try more things off this great little menu diners. There's also a good kids menu which two of our little diners loved.
***
Second visit
I returned a second time and was even more impressed I've increased my score! This time we had sweet potato rosti with poached eggs and bacon. It was absolutely delicious - however it was disappointing the coconut yogurt it's meant to be served with was missing. I didn't realise until I was writing my review! We also had the eggs benedict with poached salmon - absolutely yum! Sharing these two dishes was a great idea because they were both delicious. Our little diner had hummus with toast soldiers (instead of carrot sticks) and he loved it. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating for our messy little diner and pram (just for the record, we cleaned up before we left!)

This is a great spot and I'm sure I'll be back yet again!

Best sausage roll and delicious 5 senses coffee. The cakes were also to drool for. Good location, atmosphere, and choice of healthy-minded menu. Well recommended.

Highly recommend Betty and Dave's. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the sweet potato rosti's for breakfast and they were fantastic! Will definitely be going back soon.
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Cute new coffee and brekky spot in Inglewood. Love the interiors - a mix of modern and retro. Menu is pretty healthy, with heaps of great smoothie options and coffee. Tried THE ROSTI - it was delish! A sweet potato cake topped with poached eggs, coconut yogurt, crisp bacon and greens. Mmmm! Egg was poached well but could have been a little softer! Yoghurt was so good with the potato - who would have known! Tried an Iced Black - not the best I've had but it was drinkable. I'll def be back.

New cafe just opened on corner Beaufort and Central. Just had sandwiches and coffee. Both great. Will be back. Could do with air con or more fans tho' on a hot day like today.
