Review Eat Me Ramen Bar - Perth

Josel San Diego
decent place, lovely atmosphere and tasty food. Ordered a few items and of course 2 types of ramen, unfortunately the taste was not for me. I found the broth too thick for a ramen and had no depth of flavour. The pork itself was bland and needed salt or any seasoning. It was very soft and melts in your mouth but lacking flavour. We also ordered the loaded lotus roots and they were great, would go back just for those. Will definitely go back though to try the spicy chicken and get those lotus chips again! Overall i think it's how you like your ramen, and with 3 ramen restaurants around this one, it needs to stand out.

Small restaurant, not authentic with big impact on taste. I've walked past this place many times, finally popped in, to try the food. Don't let the small restaurant put you off, it's a little gem. Fantastic service, the staff smiles and asked us if the food is up to the our satisfaction. The ramen bar cares about the taste and customers. Umami bowl was subtle on flavours. Good ol' karaage had its own spin of flavours, very tasty. Fire in the bowl was delicious, 1 spicy level and on point. I would visit again and try level 3 spicy next time. They ran out of pork chashu, replaced it with fried chicken instead, flavours set in very well. I hope that is a option instead next time on the menu. May have to ask for it. Black ninja curry was delicious, don't let the black gravy sauce put you off. Yes yes not authentic, however it is a worth a visit.

With the price I'm paying for this ramen as compare to other ramen places, is not too bad. The broth is probably not as good compare to other ramen restaurant but is quite difficult to distinguish the difference. The portion is really good, decent amount of noodle, meat, egg and others which I have no complaints. This is a good sign as I hate other ramen places that gives small amount of noodles, one piece of meat and egg which leaves me unsatisfied especially when the price is comparable, seems like a technique to get you to order side dishes, me noodles or garnishes. The price per ramen is about $15, other restaurant are about that price as well, probably with less garnishes. So if you're around the area, have a taste.

In this place the food is not worth what you are paying. That is what I ordered the loaded lotus chips with pulled pork was nice and worth it. But the fire in the bowl was pathetic, tasted ok looked really nice but the pulled pork was 1 piece of shred, i got more pulled pork in the chips I ordered. I complained and wanted to see management, they said there was no manager on site. I didn't want to pay for that dish as I said I will not pay $15 for noodles in broth, so they put some pulled pork in it. They said that is what they allowed to put in. I told them I would never go back there again. Disappointed so far with most noodle or ramen shops in Perth.

The noodles had a really good texture, but the broth was very one dimensional. The wings were really delicious, crispy, moist and very flavoursome. I also love that there were a range of Asian drinks available.

Got a voucher for shared chicken wings, 2 mains and 2 drinks. Unfortunately, my husband and I will not be returning to this place, voucher or no. The food was average 3 stars (had better ramen, the chicken wings were loaded with crumbs and sauce, only thing stand out was the broth), ambiance 3.5 stars (small place that makes you feel homey but not too small where there are no customers. The seating was nicely set up), the service was 2 stars (the girl did not understand much English, I had to repeat my order 3 times and she managed to get me the wrong chicken wings! I ordered normal wings but got spicy wings instead. She had a little too much make-up on, enough for a wedding party. She was pretty, but the makeup stood out, not in a good way), management 2 stars (the girl did not know the details of the voucher and had to ask for help, management should've trained her well). Overall, an average place with missing elements.

Lovely and cozy. My partner is picky when it comes to this type of dish. He really loves this place. Its like eating q warm hug.

Great spot for Ramen with a tasty broth. The Karaage Chicken side dish was also cooked nicely, moist and crispy.

Eat me ramen is closing start of next year, which is disappointing because they have pretty decent ramen at good prices, do soft boiled eggs, and have some unique menu items (one dish has a slice of tomato in it and a very unique, complex barbeque tasting broth, and they also have a dry ramen). The chicken wings, which I didn't have this time, are also excellent. Here's to hoping either the technical or creative skills behind this restaurant turn up on Perth elsewhere.

Tried this places with some friends. We found it so so. The Chicken karaage was tasty. Fire in the bowl was only ok. Midnight sun lacked the strong garlic flavour. Not the best ramen place out there. We tried it because it was in the entertainment book. We could only use one voucher.

The perfect ramen is said to warm your soul. It was raining outside when I entered so I was hoping for some of that. Unfortunately it didn’t warm my dark soul but it did warm my belly. Tasty chicken and condiments but the noodles were undercooked and the broth lacked a little. It did have 3 types of seaweed in the one dish which I thought was awesome!
I feel like I stepped into a hidden gem of Japan in Perth. The staff are gorgeous as well. The atmosphere and play list made this place so I’ll be back to try more

Ramen was so so average and we aren’t picky eaters. My friend never leaves food uneaten but even he couldn’t get halfway through his bowl of ramen. Would not recommend.

This was the first time I've tried Ramen, it was a very good introduction, safe to say I will be back and pretty keen to try new places.

The food itself was great, I ordered the "Fire in the Bowl" I'm not too great with spice but this was a happy medium. It was a little oily but no complaints, the service was very fast seating is minimal. We had a bunch of very loud ladies next to us on the communal table and moved to the bar as a space freed up. I also shared some of the "Good ol karaage" which was by far some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. I was tempted to order a second serve but after the Ramen I was completely stuffed, the portion size is very generous.
Highly recommend.

Some of my friends were raving about this little ramen shop so I decided to give it a go on Friday night. Service was quick and attentive. We walked in and got seats straight away. I personally prefer the lighter broth as I felt that the thicker broth is too thick in my preference and it is generally quite salty with soy sauce broth. The portion is huge and I couldnt finished the ramen. The pork is quite thick and generous in size, with a bit of a nice smoky flavour. The kaarage on the side was pretty good, loved the spicy mayo :)!

Simply one of my favourite haunts. Food is always consistently good, great serves and staff are wonderful! The Dragon Bowl is simply delicious and the lotus chips are divine!

Meet up with my friend in this ramen bar today as she has a coupon for free chicken wings for every order of rice or ramen. Ordered the classic ramen with rich chicken broth and soy sauce while my friend ordered the dragon bowl. The ramen was utterly dissapointing in the sense that the noodles were hard, the broth is so salty and out of this world oily. The customer next to our table who ordered the same bowl was complaining about the same thing. However, the dragon bowl looks amazing and the complimentary chicken wings with sesame sauce was good too. Wouldnt come back for ramen, would rather walk a bit further to Nao ramen.

Typical table share in this ramen bar, placed a lunch order for the umami bomb and watched a few others come out while waiting for mine, and many of them looked great!

Not a long wait before my order came out, so suits those with limited time for lunch. Broth was rich and ingredients cooked well. Noodles were a touch on the hard side, but ever so marginally.

Would have liked to give the 0.5 extra, but app seems to only allow whole numbers now.

Absolutely deeee-licious food! So far I've tried the premium chashu pork rice and Fire In The Bowl pork chashu ramen (pictured). The ramen was phenomenal. I had the level 1 spicy and it was perfect, not too hot but just enough to make you sweat. There was so much going on in there it's like a flavour explosion, but one where everything gels. The chashu pork had been charred so it has a delicious smokey flavour, the noodles were beautifully al dente, the broth was perfect and that egg - oh my god I wished there were two of them. I finished the whole bowl it was so good. Will definitely be back, I can't wait to try more menu items.

My new favourite Ramen place. It’s different, very tasty. Going to bring my traditional Ramen loving friends here and convince them to try it

Funky little ramen bar in the city which is a great quick lunch option with a rotating soft serve menu. I ordered a "super white ramen" with a super rich chicken broth and garnished with chasu pork belly (tender but a tad dry) and ooey gooey egg which was the best part of all. The broth was tasty and it came with a side of Yuzu juice but I didn't think it was needed. Soft serve of the week was milk tea. Great texture but not much flavour but a bargain for $2.

This place needs better aircon though.

Tasty Ramen, I'm glad they disclose its not 100% authentic... it helps managing expectations. Tried the classic with super rich chicken flavour and I wasn't disappointed. There was a funny fishy smell in my Ramen but the flavour was good. Quantity is just right and prices are very reasonable. I think they can improve overall cleanliness of the place though I'm aware the venue is small and turnover high. I might come back.
Mango The Froot
I like it here. It has a decent selection of ramen. The bowl does not look big but it is deceptively filling! Whilst the broth is scrumptious, it isn't the most authentic (and they're not meant to be). However, I do like their take on it. I had the umami bomb. It was flavourful and has a good balance to it with all the toppings. I did, however, detect a strong peppery after taste for the umami bomb ramen, and I suppose that's one of the things that strays them from authentic chicken broth ramen. Eat me's ramen definitely packs more complicated flavours but I somehow prefer the authentic version which was more simplified yet very rich. I come here a lot because it's the only place I know with chicken broth ramen, on top of the fact that they serve really mean fried chicken (I'm Not Takoyaki is by far the best I've had). I'll be back to try other flavours that my friends had.
Bite Into It
On the verge of average ramen. Nothing too spectacular but it's decent. There would be a few that I would rather prefer. Food average. Service is great and staff are really friendly.
Just one thing I wanted to note is when they sit you down but you have to go up to order. Considering this place isn't all too big, it would be ideal if they ordered first at the counter before they sat you down, so your not getting up and down.

The ramen here is not your traditional fare. I went for the seasonal special unagi ramen which had a light sea salt broth and yuzu sauce. My friend tried the classic ramen with sea salt broth. Both were light tasting and not overly salty. The unagi was perfect and was my favourite part of the dish. Apparently you can get a free refill of noodles here so its good for those who can eat!

Delicious, light chicken-based broth (I had the "limited edition" unagilicious ramen and the unagi was amazing), and glorious smoked honey soft serve!!! Customer service was wonderful. Have heard good things about the chicken too so will be back for more.

From the outside Eat Me Raman looks unassuming. Just like any low key Asian eatery but when you walk inside it is cosy. You can either eat at a long table while sitting on stools, at a table with chairs or at a bench overlooking the kitchen.

I love it! Went on a Friday afternoon. It's a small place, but I like that its small. That plus the busy kitchen and noise brings me back to Japan. I don't usually write reviews but the Japanese waitress was very nice, asked for feedback and made sure I was well looked after. Legend. Both my ramen and karaage was delicious. Crunchy and moist. Didn't find both salty at all. Keep up the good work! The only thing I might comment on is it gets quite warm if ur sitting next to the kitchen so just take note when summer comes. Itadakimasu!

If you are looking for non-authentic Japanese ramen, this is the place.
I went there 3 times and ordered 3 different ramens (the spicy one with 3 chilies, the umami bomb, and the one with roasted tomato (cannot remember the name))
For me, the best one is the umami bomb, the broth is thick and it will not too watery if you add extra noodle. My girlfriend ordered a simple one that has roasted garlic in it, that was pretty good too.
I also ordered 2 boneless chickens (wassap bae and I am not takoyaki). Wassap bae is okay, too much mayo for me. 'I am not takoyaki' is the best one, it's like eating takoyaki with a lot of protein.
The staffs were extremely friendly and helpful too.

I've been eating Ramen in Perth since I was introduced to the now closed down Arigataya which is where Oceans is now and having been there, Kizuki, Nao and Ramen Samurai I just have to say this is at the very bottom of that list.
I went for the strongest broth they offer in the Umami Bomb and it was in a word disappointing, it felt like it didn't know what flavor it wanted to be and that was a huge letdown, the highlight are the toppings as they are well made and generous but what also let me dow was the Noodle quality, they honestly felt like they were ripped from a packet with how thin and soggy they were.
After observing my friends bowls I saw that one of the even stained the sides and I've never seen this happen at a ramen joint and it didn't even taste that flash, I also tasted the super light broth my other friend had and if it didn't come with a yuzu sauce it would taste like straight up water.
The one saving grace for this place is the chicken wings, the secret flavor with its honey soy taste rivaled even proper Korean Fried Chicken around Perth and that is a good enough reason to return on Thursday after 5pm when the wings are on special.

In summary the Ramen was pretty trash tier but the wings were amazing.
Lisa
Oiishi! Great broth flavours, and unique add ons in the bowl - I had a delicious smoked tomato on my shoyu ramen that complimented the flavours so well. The wings were also damn good. Would recommend and come again!

When a place openly claims that they are "not authentic" you just gotta take their word for it and try the food with an open mind. Yenyen.foodielife although liked her Umami Bomb, unfortunately it wasn't to my liking. The broth was wishy-washy, there wasn't a distinct flavour of anything and I'm glad they know they're inauthentic. But that wasn't the least enjoyable part of the meal. The spicy dry ramen that I had was hardly spicy but instead the saltiness made it unbearable. It reminded of a bad version of Malaysian chilli pan mee. We also had spicy chicken wings to share and again, saltiness not spiciness took over. I don't mind the inauthenticity, but with food I'm not able to eat, sorry to say I won't be returning.

Yum! Went today on the spur of the moment, and was happy to be able to get a seat right away at the counter along side the kitchen area. Slightly odd set up that you wait to be seated at the front counter, get seated with a menu, then have to go back to the front counter to order and pay.
I ordered the Umami Bomb and was very pleased. At $15 it was on the expensive side, but had a generous enough amount of noodles, soup and toppings that I didn't feel like it was too expensive. Very rich and creamy broth, tender and thick cut of chashu pork and the perfectly cooked egg were highlights. Lowlight was the lukewarm can of Coke for $2 - clearly they need a bigger fridge as the esky on the floor wasn't really cold enough. Staff were friendly and the J-pop in the background made it feel pretty cosy and friendly. Will go again!

Terrible taste, my stomach is burning after eating their ramen, highly recommend other places. It is okay to arrange anything they like, but this is bad. It is not worth to spend $15. If you are Japanese, I do not recommend to go there, if you never had ramen before, please eat real ramen first. They do not understand ramen and broth. Please check if there are many Japanese customers inside before you try new place.

Went to eat me ramen for lunch during a weekday. Had the Super White which came with yuzu dipping sauce to provide a fresh twist. Pork Chashu was flavorful and lots of accompaniments to the noodles. Seasoned egg was yummy.
The soup could be better but overall a nice noodle dish. Will probably return.

Last night my partner picked me up from the airport and we headed straight to Eat Me Ramen Bar for dinner. It was super cold and perfect weather for some delicious ramen to warm up your belly. The place is relatively new and specialises in non authentic ramen. My partner and I chose the Midnight Sun and Umami Bomb to share as we were told that these were the most popular dishes. We also ordered the Chicken Karaage. We were sitting at the counter, watching the chefs in action. The atmosphere and set up reminded me a lot of Japan. As I was watching the chefs prepare the meals to order, I was super impressed at how organised and calm they all well. They worked methodically and took care with the presentation of each dish that left the kitchen. Well done!

Definitely a different take to ramen with its unique broths. We ordered the Midnight Sun and the Umami Bomb. They offer free noodle top up and the service is friendly and helpful in terms of offering to add more soup base if too salty. The flavours of each broth was delicious, thick and full of flavour. Liked that they think about different toppings than traditional ramen bowls. Noodles were springy and of the thicker type as well. Slightly on the pricey side, but with bonus noodles, it's worth it for those that can eat!

It's raining ramen in Perth right now. It seems like a new ramen bar is opening on every corner of every street. One of the latest is Eat Me Ramen Bar. Yesterday I finally had the chance to try Eat Me and here's what I thought. Umami Bomb ($15). From the small list of ramens available, I chose the Midnight Sun. The broth is on the thick side, which I like. The broth does get richer as you get to the bottom of the bowl, so it's best to stir well before eating. Even then, the flavours of this ramen are subtle, the smokiness from the pork belly was one of the strongest flavour. But, I loved all the toppings that came with the ramen. There was corn, butter, egg and the pork belly!

Have tried fire in the bowl, shoyu, brothless ramen and the wasabi chicken. All are amazing but fire in the bowl is my favourite. So glad this is near my work

One of the better ramen places, there's an obvious deviation from the "classic" ramen, but the flavours are good. Noodles are great, broth is flavourful. Staff are friendly, great options on the menu. Would be nice to have extra negi option, but that's just being fussy. Good eats.
.ji.sama
been here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed the ramen on both occasions, had the umami bomb and the superwhite and few of us shared the brothless ramen. must say i prefer the super white and the brothless ramen, broth and flavours were top notch and the noodles were cooked perfectly (better than nao imo). would visit time and time again.

Wow!!!! This place is a bomb!!! Put the other so called well known ramen joint in shame! So different so good. Had their fire in the bowl very nicely spiced and wow the pork! So samzingly tender, and did I mention that they do free noodle refill too? Can't wait to come back for more ramen! Thanks guys :) keep up the good work!! Best in town!

Where is the Broth ! It's funky and refreshing dry version of Not So Authentic Ramen ! My new favorite Ramen joint in Perth. Will be back to try other interesting menu.
