The staff here are always really friendly and helpful. They'll let you taste before you buy and are quite accommodating and knowledgeable on dietary requirements, in our case gluten-free / coeliac disease.
Gelare is a bit old hat as a concept particularly when you consider all the trendy new alternatives such as gelato and froyo bars. But this place is nice enough and on a hot summer's night, the view down Mends St to the river and CBD is simply magic. Take an icecream down to the foreshore and take it all in.
Reasonable selection of icecream to choose from and freshly made waffles taste yummy. The decor and location are great and service generally good. I've only ever had waffles and icecream there, so I cant comment on drinks here. Good spot to grab an icecream and go for a relaxing walk to the nearby foreshore.
Haven't been here for a very long time. They renovated the place and even changed the plates and cutlery. Created a good atmosphere. Will come back more often this summer.

For me, i love their ice cream. Staffs are friendly. Their waffles are really good. Love to have it with the ice cream on top. The great one is they have promotion every Tuesday where we can have everything half price.

Awesome hot chocolate and ice coffee. Best waffles, really good ice coffee.. If not one of the best in Perth (surprisingly). Their hot chocolates have also dramatically improved since the last time I had one, and it much much richer and creamier than before, could possibly be comparable to koko black!
I love it here. I used to begin the daughter here on the first Tuesday of the month back when they had booths. We used to eat until full then walk down the river. We liked the area so much we bought a unit close by. Then my daughter grew up she left home. Now I get to eat what I want… 😂 no budget.
Seriously though… bring back the booths. They were great.

Their waffles are definitely great but I am a huuge fan of their drinks! My fav are their iced drinks. The drink serving sizes are bigger than average.

We had take away cappuccino coffees (which was so nice that we stayed in the shop to drink them). Our grandson was with us and enjoyed the vanilla bean ice cream in a cup. Service was friendly and swift. Recommended.
I went to Gelare for dessert on the Queen's birthday, its been awhile since i last went to Gelare and i got to say the waffle and ice cream was delicious the ice cream was nice & sweet and rich but not overbearing and the waffle was light and warm.
Our all time favourite place to go and eat waffles, coffee and ice cream too ..
