Peninsula Tea Gardens is situated at a pleasant leafy spot on the Swan River at Maylands, next to Tranby House and on the site of Peninsula Farm (one of the first colonial farms in Perth). It’s a popular place for hen parties and baby showers and they do not charge corkage, so there were plenty of champagne corks popping when we visited.
Delicious scones and tea, comparable to high tea at some of London’s finest hotels. Very reasonably priced, just $10 for tea and scones. With incredible views and friendly staff who went out of their way to make my toddler comfortable. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed the setting, very peaceful. Great scones, quick service with a smile.
Beautiful relaxing by the river, a huge thank you to the waitress who greeted me with a smile and a cheery hello. You are wonderful!!!
Been here with friends and my family three times, nothing but great, lovely place to enjoy the lazy afternoon time, need nothing but just a cup of coffee and a serve of their best scone.
Have to say this place is the best one for me to relax, the best scone I have never taste before. Friendly staff, worm service, great loction and nice food! Strongly recommend!
Love the foods and environment there. It is a relax place. High tea is a good place. You can see the river view with outdoor sitting. Service is good.
This tea house is simply delightful! I've been here with the girls on three occasions now and each time it's been excellent. They serve a wonderful high tea, or you can choose from many smaller dishes. Today we went for the 'four petit fours'; scones with Jam and cream, dainty sandwiches and coffee/tea/chai. The food is delicious, the service is great, but best of all is the lovely location. It's right by the river, under the shade of established trees, and surrounded by the historic Tranby House. The tea rooms look like they might have been formerly part of the Tranby House (stables perhaps?), they have a lovely atrium feel and are beautifully decorated. It's a great venue for girls outings. Today we saw a kitchen tea there, I hadn't considered it before but it's perfect for that kind of occasion (although there's limited indoor seating so you'd want to be confident of nice weather if you were looking for a large (20+) booking).
Celebrated my mother's 90th birthday here. Location, food, friendly service were excellent. Thanks to Andrea and the staff we had a very memorable and special time.
Wow! Such a beautiful venue for high tea! The food was so yummy. I was impressed with the amount of sandwiches and sweet treats we got - all for $38. That also included two drinks - I had an English breakfast tea and a chai latte. Usually high tea venues charge you extra for drinks like chai lattes.. But the Peninsula Tea Gardens don't. They also give you take away boxes for any uneaten food! Hopefully, I will return very soon!
This must be one of the prettiest settings in Perth! The poor reviews don't do this place justice. We had a high tea and I found the scones and cakes to be delicious but the savoury side of things does need a bit of work! Definitely worth a go!
We visited at lunchtime on a quiet Monday. My review has 4 parts - 1. food (light lunch from blackboard menu) which was very yummy, 4+ stars - 2. Staff, very friendly and accomodating, 4+ stars - 3. Premises, definitely need some TLC, 3 stars - 4, location, tranquil setting right on the banks of the swan river - very relaxing place to sit, relax and spend an hour or so, 5 stars. To conclude: Peninsular Farm Cafe with its lovely setting, combined with a little TLC has the ability to become a 5 star cafe destination
Great place to relax with a cuppa, a view of the river and possibly a visit to the National Trust Peninsula Farm property for some history.

Delicious scones and pastries. I think there should have been more savoury options. Only got 2 sandwiches and mini quiche. Quaint setting and byo prosecco on the water was just stunning!
Met the lovely doggie Bobby! Such a beautiful cafe to have a tea on a Saturday morning enjoying the river view.
A beautiful setting, certainly a place to relax and enjoy your high tea. High tea package price is expensive, won't be doing that again but definitely back for the ambience.
