The Treasury Lounge at the Como Hotel is set in the State Buildings on St George’s Terrace. Steeped in history, the lounge is elegant and sophisticated, and we were seated at a table overlooking the terrace and the Council House. Afternoon tea must be booked in advance and can be taken with a glass of Taittinger Brut Reserve champagne, a glass of sparkling Great Southern Australian wine (from Denmark), or alcohol free. All versions include unlimited Mano a Mano coffee, and tea, with a choice of Assam breakfast, Earl Grey, chai, peppermint, oolong, white peony, jasmine pearls or long jing with teas supplied by Jing. Prices range from $55 to $80 per person.
A girlfriend hired a section for a baby shower. Such a lovely venue and the staff were so friendly. High tea was amazing! One of the best I have been to. They even catered for allergies and special diets. Enjoyed very bite especially the smoked salmon madeleine and the Paris brest. Can’t wait to come back again, especially since their menu is seasonal.
The high tea here showcases produce from WA and I thought it was quite an interesting concept. All the components were delicious. And it was certainly quite a filling high tea. $50 per person including tea or coffee - pretty good value. Looking forward to return.
Had one of the best high tea here with my girlfriends! The experience is definitely most memorable. Starting from the friendly staff who greeted us and showing us to our table. Letting us settled down and take our time when explaining our options. Not to mentioned they’ve made my birthday celebration super special, so thank you!! The savoury tier was to die for especially the Harvey beef sandwich and the salmon, we truly enjoyed every bite of it. The sweets tier were so nice and we thought normally with high tea we would be feeling sick because it is too sweet but they are not. The raspberry petit gateaux is so refreshing and light. The hazelnut tart wasn’t too sweet either but just the right amount of chocolate. The mango smoothie is very interesting combination yet it is tasty too. I’m so delighted and will be taking some of my other girlfriends again here very soon!
Came here for high tea which is $50 incl. tea or coffee, $65 with a glass of sparkling or $75 with a glass of Tattinger champagne. On the menu was a plain and fruit scone each served with jam and cream, two prawn sandwich triangles, two chicken and mustard mayo sandwich squares, a ham, parmesan and artichoke mini quiche, blueberry pannacotta, lemon eclair and a jaffa mousse cake.
Each bite was oh so yum and oh so decadent. The chicken sandwich, pannacotta and eclair were my fave eats. Service was polished. The bartenders also know how to make a GREAT gin martini.
Definitely recommend for a splurge. We all left fully stuffed and very satisfied.
I don’t understand the low rating for the afternoon tea here. It’s amazing. The service was the best service I have had for so long. All the staff should be commended, it’s so rare in a Perth these days. The cakes were all good executed so well and the fact they only use WA produce is something to be proud of. The only gripe is having to walk to Post to pay which seems very odd.
COMO The Treasury's high tea concept is based around ‘point-zero’ – showcasing the distance from Perth’s point-zero, which just happens to be located in a room corner of the venue. The menu outlines the food miles the food and drink have travelled, which I think is a unique touch.
amazing high tea! We ordered the classic high tea, which came with scones, chocolate mousse cake, blueberry Pannacotta, lobster sandwich, chicken avo sandwich, quiches and lemon eclair. The eclair had perfect pastry, the Pannacotta had a perfect consistency, the chocolate mousse cake was slightly too bitter for my liking with the mandarin as well as dark chocolate. The scones were amazing though!
