Review Bar Bizu - Perth

Damian Kelleher (DK)
Very friendly staff. Let’s get that right. My man was helpful and let me taste the beers. I ordered the ribs. Honestly, not as fall-from-the-bone as I wanted (hence 4 stars), but the flavor was there. Too many places load up their pork ribs with sugar - not here! Nice and smoky. Strong recommend, I just wish wish wish they fell off that bone. The coleslaw was good. Rather tangy. The corn - look I like corn but I wasn’t feeling it today. But that’s on me, the corn itself was fine. Again, great staff. And they played a few bangers, not too loudly, so I could enjoy my life and food.

Incredibly welcoming and friendly staff, very kindly let me sample the Balter XPA before purchasing (very nice it was, too!). The Beef lil' burger was exquisite; the burger was juicy and flavourful, the mozzarella was stringy and devine, the sauce was tangy and the jalapeno left a nice tingle in the mouth! Freshly made, I know where I'll be having dinner tomorrow night!

Astoundingly amazing management and staff! Attentive and efficient. Also the burgers are scrumptious!

Amazing place. Relaxed chill atmosphere. Tasty food. Good prices. Attentive service and the drink list is amazing ! Got a cocktail made just for me and it was delicious Will be taking my work mates and make it our new after work spot

Dropped in for a lunch and a couple of quiet beers on a Friday. The staff are all very friendly and the service could not be faulted. The prices are reasonable and it was very busy which is a nice change in West Perth and the food was great. Will return for sure. Excellent atmosphere.

Went late on a Saturday afternoon when West Perth isn't exactly jumping. Staff were friendly and engaging. Coffee was good. I will go back....perhaps mid week next time.
Martin O'Sullivan
Good selection of beers on tap and the burgers are very good. Heaps of tvs for watching sport etc. Prompt, friendly service. Will definitely be back.

By far the best place!!! Great food, the beef cheek... nothing less than perfection. The wait staff friendly with great information about local sights to see. Sam and Jimmy are the best!!!! The cooks are OUTSTANDING, Marsalis (sp) Great job. Highly recommended

Amphoras is now called Bar Bazu. Seriously, how can you take over a good bar and then turn it into an average setting with really poor customer service and no atmosphere and expect it to succeed? Went Friday night and the place was pretty lifeless but we gave it a shot. The tattooed blonde behind the bar looked the real deal but did not up-sell, smile, provide any information or personality. It was like, do you actually want this place to succeed? She had zero personality, did not clear the tables even though there were no people in the place and the staff preferred to talk among themselves than actually provide hospitality. The glassy was running around efficiently but others just stood around. It's disappointing to see these things in a place that is clearly struggling already. As for the food, It's a small selection of share plates I suppose, which could be done well but were not. The chips were cold. As was the hamburger. The chicken liver parfait was bought in so good. And they gave us extra bread for the parfait. Nothing to write home about.

Lovely delicious dinner! Will be back! a little pricey but it was an nice atmosphere till a table of about 10 men came in for an after work get together which was fine because we were close to done for our evening. The waitress was sweet and offered to make up a cocktail for me as I’ve only recently starting drinking. I told her I enjoy citrus and came up with drink that had vodka, orange juice, peach schnapps and cherry juice and it was divine, equal flavours throughout.

This is a lovely little tapas bar. The menu is quite extensive and diverse. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating. My partner and I started with the Empanadas which were outstanding, I would definitely recommend this dish. Next up was the crumbed cuttlefish which was less than impressive. Thankfully the Lamb Rump was more enjoyable. The restaurant is quite small and it is worthwhile to make a prior reservation. Food came out in an efficient manner. I feel as if it was nice but not amazing.

16/12/2016<br/>We decided to try out Amphoras Bar in West Perth - it's in the entertainment book so why not? We ordered the scallops (looked a lot like half scallops), with chorizo, and avocado puree; roasted red permento stuffed with mushroom & ricotta; and crispy sand whiting fillet, zucchini and gazpacho emulsion.<br/><br/>Perhaps we chose badly or caught them on a bad night, because the food was uninspiring and had no wow factor. The dishes were also overpriced. We'll probably stick with Pinchos for our tapas fix.

We love amphoras, the cocktails, wine, tapas style food & desserts will tempt you to return to this small funky bar. We have been as a couple & also with a table of 15, consistent service is hard to find but not at amphoras.

Friends recommend this little tapas bar, and it didn't let us down. Loved it, the place gives you a good relaxing feel in the alfresco on the high tables, the service was great and friendly from the moment we walked in. The food was outstanding and it came out fast, great for lunches for those work catch up's. I did notice the private dining area, didn't get a chance to check it out, so will be heading back for dinner for sure - seems like a great place for the date night.

Staying just over the road at Sage Hotel and decided to have some dessert and a drink here. Got some churro's to share a sparkling and a port. Churro were raw and doughy, sparkling was apparently nice but the port was served as a 30mL shot. When we asked nicely and then kindly told them it wasn't a spirit and should be served 60-90 mL, we were just brushed off... pretty hopeless really to pay $9 for a 30 mL glass of cheap port.
The Taste Bud
Cute little tapas bar in West Perth, convenient for after work drinks and nibbles! The drinks/tapas selection is on point. However, I wouldn't plan to go here for a meal unless you know what's on the lunch special menu, we went with a table of 14 and they only had about 5 of each dish available. We did find a nice long strand of hair in one of the dishes but aside from that everyone enjoyed their meal!
J Smith
We had drinks here and went on to nibbles. The truffle fries were pricey but when we tasted them it was all worth it! Chorizo was ok, calamari good and the arancini balls were a stand out. Croquettes were good.<br/><br/>Service is inconsistent, we've had good experiences and disappointing service.
MF
I enjoyed tapas lunch here. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The food was different and divine - barramundi croquettes and the mushroom - delicious. Everything was right.

Great ambiance and food, we were greeted with friendly staff; the service was on point. Even though it was her first night, she was always smiling and hospitable to our every request. <br/><br/>Started with the wagyu Carpachio, loved the definitive truffle aroma and a slight texture contrast from the crunchy crumbs. The truffle fries and ribs may need abit more impact, but all in all they we both solid dishes and we are happy with it.<br/><br/>Finished off the meal by sharing the chocolate fondant. Great dark chocolate flavours and fast service! but the soil may need more of a playful texture. It did remind me of a crumbed dark choc cookies. Some crunch and muddy texture would lift the overall dish.<br/><br/>Great first timer experience! Loved the hospitality and ambiance they bring to the table! Wouldn't mind coming back again soon!

If you want bland food with no taste and lots of oil then I'd recommend going to dinner here. I had the mushrooms, tasting plate and carpaccio and all of them were extremely disappointing. The waitress was nice though and she went and told the manager or owner but we got no thanks for feedback or even an apology at all so doesn't seem like they really care about the quality of their food.
Stephen
Very ordinary food, unhelpful and unfriendly staff. Travelling to Perth for work stopped in for a quick bite. Virtually no redeeming feature. Strongly recommend to give a miss<br/>
Renato
A little gem and the only place mostly full on a Tuesday night, which says a lot. The food is excellent and executed with style and flair. The only thing I would say is the seasoning was a little light on the savoury dishes. The chocolate fondant, however, was absolutely perfect. YUM!!
Kris_Foodie
Heard from friends about Amphoras, and it didn't let us down. The staff were friendly, attention to our table was quick as was the service. The food was outstanding, we tried many dishes as you do with tapas and each dish left us wanted more. The desserts were amazing, atmosphere was great everyone really enjoyed themselves, great food great wine = great night
Foodieperth
We came here at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night- and this place was crowded with adults coming after work. We ordered the patatas bravas, 72 hour beef ribs, and the pulled lamb. The patatas bravas were spiced well, and the aioli was fresh light and tangy. I love patatas bravas and I literally order them everywhere😂 The lamb ribs were marinated well, and the meat actually fell off the bone. The pulled lamb was so soft and melted in my mouth! It was an amazing meal overall. The dessert was chocolate fondant with nutella icecream. The chocolate fondant was rich but also salty as there was salt on top. It was an excellent meal and we will be back!!!!!
Food_Glorious_Food
Cute bar with nice, simple tapas dishes (think tasty cheese filled arancini, truffle fries, mini sticky lamb sliders), friendly staff. Great for after work drinks and bites.
Simon
Been here quite a few times as food is nice but service has constantly been woeful. That is unless you enjoy flagging the "service" staff down like a taxi whenever you need them. One time too many. Adios Amphoras!

Amphoras Bar is a lovely spot to enjoy good food, good wine, and good company. It is a special occasion restaurant in my books, but you might want to splash out to celebrate on a weekend.<br/> We chose a bunch of plates to share, including various gluten-free options...<br/><br/>Likes: beef carpaccio, sous vide beef cheek, chocolate fondant<br/><br/>Dislikes: scallops a bit small<br/><br/>Value for money: average<br/><br/>Overall: quiet little bar with quality tapas and lovely service
Joanne Hogan
Sophisticated! Really lovely tapas food where the food really does shine! Beautiful decor, friendly staff that are well trained in customer service and food that you will remember.

Delicious food. We ordered the aranchini balls...twice! The croquettes of the day were chorizo and were shaped in a sphere like the aranchini balls but still tasted good. Lamb shoulder was nice and soft. The charred mushrooms were ok - not a highlight. Unfortunately the let down was the duck leg - it was tough! Dessert was redeemed with the amazing chocolate cake and my personal favourite - Affogato. The dessert let down was the churros. I don't think they were fresh because they tasted like something you would buy from a packet. So mostly delicious dishes with a couple of small let downs.

We dined at Amphoras Bar tonight and I have never been more disappointed with a meal. I'm not one to ever write reviews but I had to express my dining experience here.<br/><br/>We ordered 5 dishes - calamari, beef carpaccio, parmesan fries, chorizo and arancini.<br/><br/>Within 2 minutes of placing our order, our first dish (the calamari) came out which was salty and not a pleasant dish.<br/><br/>Nearly immediately after, the other 4 dishes came out, none of them a stand out. <br/><br/>The dish I was most disappointed with was the arancini. I don't know how anyone can prepare arancini in only a couple of minutes. They appeared to have been refried as they were very dark in colour and the mozzarella hadn't melted. The parmesan fries had also been refried.<br/><br/>After the meal, we weren't approached by any staff to see if we wanted to order another drink or asked how the meal was.<br/><br/>Eventually we had to make our way to the till and still weren't asked how our meal was.<br/><br/>I don't know if it was because it was a Monday but we were very disappointed and will not be returning.
Little Chef
Great tapas had the lamb sliders that were awesome potato bravas, salmon and aranchinni good value and also good service will be back for sure
Drum_tum_tum
Great location on a sunny afternoon for a glass of wine and tapas lunch. Music inside was a bit loud, but outside was ok. We had the chorizo, jamon and patatas bravas as three small dishes and all were delicious. They've won a prize for best wine list 2015 and the selection of whites was impressive.
ChrissyK
Food is good but needs seasoning. Servings were a good size. Desserts are amazing. Try the fondant and the cherry ice cream. Cocktails were lovely too.
Sandra Edmonds
We ate at Amphoras over the weekend, and I must say everything was great until we were leaving, when the cook came out of the kitchen and backed one of the waitresses into a corner and started screaming at her! The poor girl looked on the verge of tears. Highly unprofessional, and quite spoiled an otherwise pleasant evening. would not return.
Glenn Kojundzich
A party of 12 gathered here for my sisters 40th dinner...from Spain my family had a few expectations and it did not disappoint! The food was plentiful, authentic, flavorsome and of great variety. Both the kitchen and table service was impeccable. The atmosphere was accommodating and had a warm feel, perfect for a Spanish familia ready for a night of celebration! Special 'gracias' to the chef who sourced quality produce and delivered an amazing array of dishes!! Thank you !

Have been here a few times and would recommend. <br/><br/>The only drawback is that it may be more expensive than most are willing to pay for tapas. <br/><br/>My recent lunch for three was the Seasonal Veg (roasted Aubergine w/ feta and walnuts), Bravos Potatoes, Fried Calamari and bread. The servings were very nice and flavorful. The group was satisfied when we were finished. So, tapas for 3 plus a pint of beer, $88.00<br/><br/><br/><br/>Atmosphere: +1<br/>Food: +1<br/>Price: +.5<br/>Presentation: +1<br/>Professionalism: +1<br/>Other:

Went to Amphoras for food and drinks before a Friday night Dockers game. It was a bit loud and it could be difficult to get the attention of the waitstaff but the food more than made up for it.<br/><br/>The beef carpaccio was one of the best I have tasted.<br/>The lamb shoulder was delicious.<br/>And the Wagyu Beef was really good.<br/><br/>The wine list was also very good.<br/>We drank two Pinot Blancs from Alsace and both were very nice.<br/><br/>Strongly recommend.

Topnotch!. Went here on a very busy friday night. Had booked in advance. Had high expectations as the photos of food looked thd goods. Did not dissapoint. Beautiful attentive service. Menu to die for!! So hard to decide. The prawns, chorizo and patte were my fav of the night. Would reccomend to anyone. Definitely book in advance. Gold class!!!

Amphoras succeeds where others fail.. Some so-called tapas bars in Perth miss the mark but Amphoras is the real deal. We ordered four dishes, for two people, from the tapas section of the menu. Probably could have done with just three. Beautiful food, very nicely cooked and well presented. Traditional tapas with an extra touch of quality. The service was friendly, quick and efficient and the wine list is excellent, though expensive. The atmosphere was great. This was our first visit but I think it could become a favourite.

Bring back the creme anglais!. Fabulous food, but please, please, please, bring back the creme anglais with the churros...not all of us are chocolate sauce fans!
Alana Vassallo
Amazing food from start to finish! A must go place if you haven't already been and eaten. You'll be hooked with great service and great atmosphere and above most the FOOOOOD IS MORISH. You'll defiantly want to go back!
Natashacardoso
What a joke!. Firstly we ordered chorizo and cheddar croquettes, and it came out as chicken and cauliflower 3X!! And on the 4th attempt it came out as arancini!! After that we had a very terrible cheese platter followed by a very bitter and awful tasting coffee! I can guarantee they have not cleaned their coffee machine correctly!! Will not be returning.. and after calling upon the manager... We found out there was no manager on shift.. A guy came over, and he could not care less! On the upside... Catarina was an absolute gem!
Bcrudds
Absolutely Amazing!. We were blown away by the service and quality of food! The flavours were to die for! Five star!
Samantha
Great service, awesome atmosphere, delicious food
NikB
Great service, really attentive and the food arrived quickly. The food was delicious, couldn't fault anything we ordered - particularly loved the croquetas, chorizo, and the amazing dessert special which was a deconstructed black forrest cheesecake. The flavours were spot on. Will come again.
Cookie Monster
Went for our first anniversary, and was disappointed with few things. The two good things were that food came fast and staff was polite. Food was ok, but not value for money, paid 34 dollars for two slices of pork belly. And also - that partyicular time it was VERY loud company of 6 girls occupying table next to us. Not restraunts faults of course... But ladies, c'mon! No one wants to hear ur personal hygiene stuff shouted out so loud. We left quick , and couple next to us left even quicker without ordering. Not the best eating out experience for sure.
Mary T-soon
Good honest food, nice wine, good service, cute setting! Prices were fair unlike a lot of places in perth. Will be back for sure. Also plenty of GF options :)
RenaeB85
5 stars. My partner and I stopped in on a whim after work on Friday... And whilst we were only there for half an hour, we sampled 2 tapas - Chilli Squid and Arancini.<br/>That half an hour was enough to make me realize that we need to come back as many times as necessary to try everything on the menu.<br/>Service was prompt and efficient, we weren't baulked at for not having a reservation and they were very accommodating.
Kyle Kaya
Very nice food and attentive service. Both food and wine selection are very enjoyable! Definitely return.

Great Spot for a Drink Before the Game and After.. Dropped in for a quite beverage before the game at Subi Oval.<br/>Great quiet location on a Saturday afternoon and excellent service. And the wine selection was as good as it gets. In fact, my wife and I enjoyed this place so much, we went back after the game to enjoy some tapas as well.<br/>The food was excellent, although I thought a little on the expensive side. <br/>The only disappointment was their dessert; pavlova! Good but not great. You needed an axe to cut through it. If that's how they make it according to their Chef, give it a miss.<br/>Three tapas, a dessert, two glasses of wine and a soft drink: $98.30. Expensive.<br/>Service was exceptional. Glasses and cutlery, top notch. The range of tapas and nibbles was good. The wine selection excellent.<br/>Will be back
Serious Foodie
I have two words for Amphoras Bar... FIVE STAR!! Wow, this place is absolutely amazing. It's the best food I've since I visited Melbourne. Really fantastic tapas food with out of this world flavours, also great service and overall atmosphere. My fav's were the chicken liver parfait, lamb, haloumi, and the cheese cake with popping candy. I definitely recommend this restuarant for the food lovers out there. Will be back soon :)
Stingray
Great food great service great atmosphere. Caught up with some friends, great place to chill out have a drink share food, conversations, and stories.<br/>We ordered most things on the menu and all was very good. Good size servings for tapas. Good wine list and by the glass options.<br/>Will definitely return.
Danielle Wood
Went there for dinner last night with a couple girlfriends, could not fault it! We had the calamari (which was amazing), the chorizo, the chips, chicken wings and the aranchini balls between 3 people and it was more than enough! The aranchini was incredible!! Probably the best I've ever had! The service was polite and friendly and the atmosphere was great! Will definitely be coming back! Great place for a first date or a friendly catchup, good work!! :)
May Mich
Not many seats. A pleasant after work place for drinks and nibbles. the service is friendly. we had crispy chicken wings, pork belly, croquettes, chicken liver parfait, calamari and the dessert tapas plate. the pork belly was soft and juicy, the crackling was crunchy. the parfait was smooth. the dessert plate was cute and not too sweet. overall, the meal is not pricey, and food is solid and tasty. a good place for food to share. will come again.
JB
Great food. Spiced lamb croquets - delicious! As was the haloumi and the lamb with artichoke flakes. As for the olives, very expensive at $9 for about 9 olives! All in all a lovely evening.
Despina Coulonis
Went on a monday arvo around 4.30. It was quiet due to tge time of day but stil an AWESOME atmosphere! The place is GORGEOUS! The staff are so friendly and just want to be helpful. One of the girls even organised for the food to be ready by the time my friend arrived and stopped for a little friendly banter. I'm sure its cause she was bored but even so I found it nice. You can see they work well together and all the staff are very happy and smiley. A great experience!
Susan
Delicious. Had another fantastic meal at Amphoras the other night. New menu but still with some old favorites. This Chef really knows what they're doing. The wine list is great and there is always something new and interesting to try. Keep up the good work.
Fiona
Just got turned away as "kitchen closed at 9pm" - its a Saturday night and it was 8:45pm. They must not be doing very well if a tapas bar / restaurant closes their kitchen at 9pm on a Saturday night.
Otani
Not the trendy bar it once was.... This place has really regressed in terms of service and ambiance. Where it was once a vibrant establishment, with well trained staff who were passionate about food and fine wines, it’s not so now. Twice now in the past few months, we’ve had lack lustre service - staff members seemed uninterested in serving us, and unable to provide any intelligent wine recommendations when asked. For instance, when we asked the maître d’ how was the Seville Estate pinot noir on the palate, the reply was a shrug and a “it’s just a light red”. Yes, we explained we know pinot noirs are a little lighter than say a Shiraz, but wanted to know what style of pinot is it, how is the balance and what’s the finish like? We were rewarded with a blank stare. Nice work Amphoras Bar. The food is still delicious though. And that’s a redeeming factor, but only just.
Suzi
Brilliant !!. It was brilliant!! The service, the staff, the food, the wine, the atmosphere! Everything.<br/><br/>Wish I went again for lunch today (as I work in Subiaco) instead of Hippo Creek – DON’T GO THERE!!!
Ismurfette
Fantastic!. Amphoras is one of my favourite places in Perth! The vibe is always good with yummy cocktails and huge wine list. I love the food, delicious tapas and generous portions. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.<br/><br/>My new fav place :-)
Panda And Fox
Disappointing. Went for a drink a couple of Sundays ago. There was only one other table there but we had to get our own menu and water. We ordered two different sherries. The glasses were totally inappropriate - including the second choice. For the price it was unacceptable. We really felt like leaving but ordered two items from the menu. The staff did not know what flavour the croquetas were and gave us the wrong information. They were ok (a bit floury) but were mushroom which my husband does not eat. The calamari was good.<br/><br/>I really wanted to like Amphoras but had such an unfulfilling experience it will be a long time before I give it a second chance.
Trina
Great friendly service gorgeous meal great atmosphere orgasmic dessert & awesome cocktail had fantastic night will be back
Iggy
Thumbs up!. Went to Amphoras Bar last night for the first time. I was really impressed! The staff were so friendly (makes such a difference) the food was delicious and the overall vibe of the place was great, with cool tunes playing in the "background" but not too loud that you couldn't hear the person next to you. Big thumbs up!
Frank Scullino
6 of us tonight we were late but the service was excellent food was really good, especially the capretto. Highly recommend. It's nice to leave a restaurant happy.

Lunch. Food was great. Texture, taste and quality spot on. A bit noisy at the rear of the restaurant but overall a great spot. Will visit again!!

Just had dinner at Amphoras with 3 other people and it was great. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The dessert was a let down (the churros were undercooked), but the savoury tapas were all excellent, which more than made up for it. The atmosphere was great as well, which meant we were comfortable sitting there, chatting, until closing time. I'd recommend this place.

What a pleasant surprise! Just by chance we visited for dinner and were blown away by the food, the service and the ambiance. A must visit!
Tasty Liaison
Standards dropped.. I loved Amphoras a long time ago but I think times have really changed. I visited last night. I think the service was alright... the guy serving us had just started at the place and I can tell he was trying his best. The standard of the food, however, has dropped a few notches. I would avoid the duck liver pate - it had a fishy after taste. The prawns, fried calamari and arancini were nice. The lamb and the duck were really....not good at all. I had the middle section of the lamb - as much as I love my lamb pink, this was chewy. I think some improvements need to be made.
Captain Munchie
Quality Place. My Uncle introduced me to Amphoras at the start of the year and I have never turned back. This place is fine dining tapas with only 1 dissapointment ... the size of the toilet. Apart from that the food is quality and the drinks, especially the beer on tap is as good as it gets. If you intend to go for lunch and not go back to the office on a Friday afternoon, this is the place. You drink, order some food, have another drink and order more food and so on. If you go, catch a cab into work because you wont be driving home. Until next time ... 8/10
Flippy
Great food, shame about the service!. Great tapas menu – would recommend the arancini and the calamari. Unfortunately the service was a bit of a let down - drinks that never arrived, wait staff somewhat abrupt and in a rush. Might have just been an off night?! Would like to return to try the desserts!
Miss Under H2O
We had amazing service by the manager. Plus amazing food and wine recommendations. I love this place for everything. Service, food, wine, music, ambience... Probably one of my favorite sophisticated places without the exorbitant price tag venues. <br/><br/>Their private dining room sounds amazing!
Ben
Meh. Plenty of better options for tapas in Perth. Waygu meatballs tasted like they were sitting in straight tomato paste. Buffalo mozzarella salad was completely not what I expected with hockey puck size pieces of cheese laid out on a plate - eating cheese like a piece of steak is just a bit weird. Only positive note was the Arancini, which were very tasty.
Slave To Food
Just perfect for a lunch date, or when you wanna stuff yourself

Great night out. We booked the function room for my birthday dinner. We took the group tapas menu for our party of 14. The food was excellent and the service 1st class. The function room with its walls of wine was warm, elegant and sophisticated. Everyone had a great night and I couldn't be happier. I've eaten in the restaurant proper many times and always been impressed but the function room was just great for a party. Definitely my favourite restaurant!
Jemima Immink
Best Tapas!. Amazing food, fantastic atmosphere, attentive staff. Never disappointed!! Great way to spend an evening with friends over food!! Please bring back the chocolate pudding dessert to the menu though!!
Springa
Love it. Atmosphere is fabulous. Food scrumptious
Lisa Fini
Good vibe.. Well decked out. Food was fine, nice wine and efficient service. All round pretty enjoyable.
Ryan
Loved it. Went there the other day and boy what can I say, the service was great and the wine list is impressive. we had 6 dishes and managed to fit in dessert. service was good, could have been a little quicker towards the end of our night, but nothing to complain about really as they were quite friendly. we will be back!
Bloody
Great spot. Stumbled on this place. Great service, nice food, the duck was beautiful! Give it a go!
SandM
Enjoyable. We have been here twice, both times with friends. The staff were friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. They were happy to go at a slow pace so we could graze throughout the night. <br/>Sangria was nice, although variable. <br/>Recommend: haloumi, arancini, olives, meatballs. <br/>Servings look small but it all adds up to a reasonaly priced and filling meal if you have small groups of people.
Melaustra
Nice place for a drink not for the food.. Dined at amphoras on a Friday nite, everything was disappointing except the arancini.. the haloumi was so small, the lamb whatever was like burger meat, the mushrooms has so much cream it was sickening and the dessert was not good either. The service as well was a bit weird. Couple staff looked like they didn't want to be there and a couple others were a bit too try hard.
KT
Loved it!!. I would definitely go back. The food was tasty and generous and the service was fantastic!!!
Saki
The service was great, lovely staff. The mushroom sautee was amazing. Meatballs were a bit too meaty and sauce was a bit bland. Overall a good dining experience

Tap Tap Tapas!. I always feel totally uninspired by tapas, it feels like a snack i would make for friends to sit at home and chat over wine with.. but The tapas at Amphoras were 8/10 wonderful<br/>The manager (i think?) was super helpful offering drink and food suggestions which she was 100% spot on with! Deviating from that there was only 2 tapas plates i wasn't a fan of. The croquettes were spectacular - i wish we had ordered more and the chorizo in PX sauce was Oh-so-good. The dessert (which i did not share at all!) was probably not needed after how much we had eaten but that certainly didn't stop us.<br/>The staff were more than wonderful - couldnt have asked for friendlier people.<br/>Will come again for sure!
Evenstar
The food at Amphoras is ok, however, for the price the food was disappointing. You can have much better food and service at Duende for much the same price. This would be a great place for a quick bite and a drink after work but not for a proper meal again. Nearly everything was fried - also I am lactose intolerant and nearly everything had cheese! Also we had a table of six so we had to order two of every dish - some other tapas bars I have been too allow you to increase the serving size to suit the table and I was disappointed we couldn't do that here.
Little Pidlets
Amazing Amphoras... Great little place!<br/>We rocked up after 9pm & they were still happy to serve us dinner even though the kitchen closed at 9pm! We had the calamari, pakprika potats, waygu meatballs & the duck which was all to die for. Can now understand why this place has such good reviews.
Mary Webster
Fabulous. I was at lunch at amphoras bar today. The service by Jodie was exceptional and the food was amazing with a great wine list.
Hazel
Delicious. Great food here, the arancini was the best I have ever had and the baby squid was amazing. The only downside was that we waited a while for our drinks and bread.
Jacek
Spot On. This place was great when we went - sounds like it's had a bad run on the comments posted. Everything was immaculately clean, service was great to the point where the waiter wrote down the wine we had for us on a card and most importantly the food was Awesome. Some of the comments below sound like they are just whinging - if you're looking for a quiet place then this is not it, its a bar after all.
Craig Watts
Friday Lunch. The tapas was for the most part great. The exception is the meatballs which were average. The service was great. The food is pretty pricey, but that seems to be the norm in Perth.
Bernie
So, so. OKay service but expensive for what you get. Small portions. Would not return in a hurry.
Sharon
Fabulous. Great Food, Great Service, Great Surroundings!<br/>Love, Love, Loved it.<br/>Also very accomodating to my 9 year old son!
Mr Fussy
Tapas that aims low and hits the mark. Andaluz is much better.
Beauty And The Beast
Service and venue let it down. Highlights <br/>- the olive oil<br/> - extensive wine list <br/>- prawns, scallops & mushrooms <br/>Lowlights <br/>- balsamic in the olive oil<br/>- the mostly unfriendly/arrogant service <br/>- staring at dirty plates <br/>- the flavourless meat balls <br/>- not being able to hear great music over the noise of voices bouncing of the tiled floor<br/> - the cafeteria like brighteness of lights <br/>- the drunk at the bar that should have been kicked out after knocking over bar stool & before telling a stranger she had a "fat arse". <br/>- requesting water three times before recieving<br/>Comment<br/>- a "try hard" version of much better alternatives.<br/>Ambience: the Beast (2)<br/>Service: the Beast (1)<br/>Food: the Beast (4)<br/>Value: the Beast (3)

Very pleasant Sat pm tapas meal. Relaxed casual atmosphere. Tapas very good value & wine list fine. We enjoyed it for what it offered.

Great tapas joint for people who like to graze. Caught up with a few friends on a Friday night when it was quite busy, however it wasn't too loud and the service was also good. The tapas were great and are most suited for those who want a small bite with their drinks, just don't come here on an empty stomach expecting a hearty feed!

Paella and sangria night rocked my socks -awesome food, great beers and an even better wine list

Nice food, yummy meatballs but a little overpriced and a great wine list but also overpriced and because of this we wont be back, shame coz it was nice just small serves for the price paid.

Nice night out. Last night we dropped into amphoras bar for a few quiet drinks and some tapas. The venue is stylish and the staff are great. My only complaint would be when we paid for the bill we found that they had charged for tap water which I thought was slightly strange and unexpected.

Great place to catch up. I recall the tapas were very tasty and the music was at an audible level that allowed you to still converse with ease. My only complaint would be that I'm such a big eater that after $60 worth of tapas I had a kebab straight after!

Oh yum. Visited last night for tapas and a wine or two with friends. Wow amazing delicious food. We had the sardines, scallops, arrancini, chorizo, asparagas, mushrooms and all were delicious. Loved it.

Nicoletta. We spent a great Melbourne Cup day at Amphoras Bar - we enjoyed delicious food, fantastic wine and a great atmosphere. We are particularly impressed with the extensive wine selection, featuring some fantastic locally sourced (WA) wines which were what we chose on the day, and they didn't disappoint. The whole place gets our thumbs up, we were on a table of eight people and the whole day flowed perfectly - well done Amphoras - we shall return!!

Stylish little tapas bar. A range of sensational tapas - try the asparagus, and also the glazed chorizo - accompanied by a great winelist.
