Review Little China Girl - Perth

This restaurant really wowed me. The food was incredible. We had around 20 plates of different buns and dumplings throughout our stay, and I don’t have a single thing to critique when it comes to the food. A favourite of mine were the prawn and chive dumplings, as well as the pork and prawn dumplings. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the duck was crispy and delicious. We were on the ground floor, so we were served almost immediately and had a steady flow of food coming on to the table at all times. We were also right near kitchen, unlike upstairs. So if you get the chance to book, try and choose a table downstairs. It wasn’t too loud inside, I could talk to people across the large table quite easily. However, what I found funny was that the music playing was pop and modern, like the songs that go viral on TikTok, so it didn’t really match the look of the restaurant, but it didn’t really effect us at all. The special fried rice wasn’t amazing, but still tasted great. Also keep in mind that we didn’t have a Lazy Sue on our large table, so we had to continue to ask people to pass around the dishes, which doesn’t seem like the biggest issue, but I think it would amazing if they implemented that into their restaurant. I also brought a cake with me, and you aren’t charged a cake fee. You can ask them to put it in a fridge and bring it out later when you need, and that was fine. To the end of our dinner, I did notice some staff were rolling their eyes when I asked for some more food, but that was only a couple of people, so I wasn’t too bothered. To conclude, if you decide to go here, make sure you book to get a good table. Order a selection of things because the plates are pretty cheap. And it is a good idea to order a bunch of different things and just share with each other. And possibly have alcoholic drinks prior to dining, because their cocktails weren’t a fave. Thanks.

The decorate looks beautiful, and really comfort space. Overall the meal is good. Unfortunately the flavour didn’t taste that good than it looks like. Well, the tea is amazing though.🤣

Nice food, good ambience. Had underestimated the size of the rice and noodle dishes it's a generous portions for the price. Bit of advice 1 noodle or rice dish cannot be soloed by 1 person.

It was nice, i like the decor. The food came out quick, the 2nd floor was a bit challenging for my mum to get up and down. It's refreshing that there is an option to book in for dimsum. The food was tasty and fresh dumplings were delicious and so was the congee. Will go back again.

Lovely ambience, gets really busy at peak night time but staffs still have lots of good attitude and attentive to customer. Great food and very matching cocktails list. Fabulous place to hang out with friends on the weekends.

They have a whole lot of vegan options but it sucks that if we'd like more sauce or chilli oil, we have to pay extra.. it also gets really busy so best to book a table prior. The flavours are pretty good tho.

Great vegan dim sum food. We were seated within two minutes and the food was in front of us almost straight away. A staff member offered us water or Chinese tea as soon as we were seated and brought it over immediately. Convenient location too. It wasn't cheap but moderately priced and worth the money.

Lovely meal. Served fast. Crispy squid, spring rolls, pork/cabbage dumplings, pork steam buns, Singapore noodles, all winners

visit the restaurant regularly, love the food and the atmosphere. Never had a bad dish always greeted courteously and food is always super clean. Been there for many different occasions, would highly recommend for every occasion.

Been here a few times now! food is always fresh and delicious! The decor is traditional and authentic. staff were quick to serve our table and topped up tea without us asking. 😍

I would definitely be back. Must come try if you like a good dim sum feed. Heard they are updating their menu soon too! can’t wait!! 🥟🍜

One star for opening late. Zero stars for the crappy food

This place will need to lift their game to survive.
The service straight off the bat was average. We sat their with bottles of wine for along time after our group had arrived, and eventually had to ask for wine glasses.
We also had to ask to be served food.
All of the dishes fell short in some noticeable way.
Deep fried squid was floury, with some pieces over cooked, and some perfect.
Shanghai dumplings tasted nice, but the pastry was a bit rubbery.
Other dumplings tasted fine and generous amounts of seafood and filling, but again the wrapper was thick and rubbery, especially the coloured ones.
Some of the dessert buns were undercooked and had firm instead of ‘lava’ fillings. The rice flour rolls had a lot of roll and not a lot of filling.
Overall, price was very good, and the food was good, but the discerning dim sum goer would be find it hard to look past the faults, especially when there are so many places that do it so well.

Stumbled upon this eatery on Roe Street. They serve dim sum along with a variety of noodle and rice dishes, and are open till late. Portions sure are generous, though you can find better dim sums elsewhere in Perth.

We booked for dinner here on a weeknight via Quandoo. We had salt and pepper fried squid; salt and pepper fried tofu; gailan with oyster sauce; shang hai dumplings; prawn dumpling; prawn and scallop siu mai; pan fried radish cake; pork ribs; fried yam dumplings; bbq pork buns; bean curd rolls; salted duck egg bun; and freshly made durian mochi with some chinese tea. The food was pretty good! They were fresh and good serving sizes. Definitely coming back for more!

❤️ Will be back!❤️

Went on the last day of the half price offer, not surprisingly a long line but service was fast and did their best to seat everyone as soon as possible

The dim sum was fresh and yummy! Unfortunately even though we were second sitting, they ran out of the charcoal egg yolk buns and egg custard tarts so I’ll be back to try. (Only reason it’s not a 5 stars)

Highlights were the sui mai and har gow. Accidentally got also the durian puffs (thought they were BBQ pork) and am surprised to see this on the menu as durian isn’t always a popular choice inside a restaurant! Unfortunately none of us really like durian but the pastry was excellent and I would also try the bbq pork puffs next time.

I also ordered take away and was quick and fast and they let us takeaway the dim sum we didn’t quite manage.

Service was friendly and even though they were busy always regularly checked on each table. The opening to 4am on Friday and Saturday is a great trick and the whole table is keen to come back.

They came out with a half price dim sum which is up till 4am midnight but when we arrived at 9PM they have already cut the line off. Should have prepared more foods if you’re expecting the crowd and don’t give out false advertisement! We came all the way just for the dim sum, not happy with it.

❗️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ❗️

I was here on Sunday with some friends and must say it was amazing!
The food in general was good and they staff were kind enough to look after us (table of 8)
The decor and vibe of the place in general was cool as there was an upstairs and downstairs and the place is quite clean!

We ordered a fair few things such as
-Egg tarts
-Century Egg Porridge
- Deep Fried Yam Dumpling
- Glutinous Rice
- Siu Mai
- Radish Cake
And a few others

This tastes authentic and amazing and would definitely recommend this place!
Pricing was super reasonable as well and overall an amazing experience here!

Great new dim sum joint in town. Food is delicious , especially the baked egg yolk buns. Salt n pepper squid is also a must try. Service have always been consistent and attentive. Their staff speaks perfect english; which could be rare to find in some dim sum restaurants ( which sometimes even gave you attitude for not speaking Chinese!)

Love their decor, furnitures and cutleries. Fresh new look from the usual tiring old decor in other dim sum restaurant.

New place in northbridge. Dim sum was average and expensive. Nothing really stood out besides the decor. Wouldn’t pay premium for what is on offer.
