I cannot recommend enough this beauty of a restaurant. Every dish was perfect and worth every penny! I have been here 4 times with different groups and all were more than satisfied. It would be the greatest tragedy known to Shafto Lane should we lose this gem. Come on WA, show your support to excellent food! -A Critical Asian

Hubby and I decided to go here for our anniversary. We were looking for something different and found this little gem while browsing online. It has such a nice ambiance and the service was excellent. We ordered 2 from the tapas menu and the rib eye for our mains and they were all very delicious. One thing that surprised us was the celery ice cream palette cleanser - its definitely a must try. Would definitely come back here to try their other menu items!

Glad I was introduced to this gem located in Shafto Lane. Fantastic food and service. We had the Omakase (set menu) and each dish has its own unique flavour and was presented artfully. Will definitely be back to try out the other dishes on the ala carte menu.

The food is deliciously prepared with fresh ingredients. Cooked just right! The service was great! Especially Wagyu was really amazing and very soft. Also we had free celery dessert. It was sound weird but definitely yammy. Even I hate a celery. Thanks guys.

We are lucky to have new and innovative restaurants opening up in Perth, and Binchotan is the latest addition to this movement. Exquisite food cooked over signature Binchotan coals in a relaxed setting, it's a fresh experience in the long-standing Shafto Lane. Highly recommended for those looks for high-quality food in an unpretentious setting.

The food at this place was AMAZING! I literally had nothing to complain about. Especially Kobe wagyu and baby corn were Fantastic. I don’t think there was one thing in this restaurant that I was disappointed by. The people were very nice. The best dinner that I’ve ever had was had here. I definitely feel charcoal in the Wagyu Thanks guys

3 friends looking for a diamond in the rough, a rustic and no nonsense place to eat. What the 3 guys found was piece of heaven in my lane... SHAFTO lane. This is a secret i want to keep but need to tell the people of Perth. Forget the rest and past, come to Binchotan and enjoy good food. A place Anthony Bourdain would be proud to sit, drink and eat with friends.

It was being in food wonderland... Amazing food!! The scallops, the chorizo burger (WOW) and the waygu beef is to die for. We even got complimentary celery “ice cream” (palate cleanser) it was unique and surprisingly delicious and squid tentacles..Yum! I cannot rave enough about this hidden gem! The service is fantastic and the chefs were very humble. We will be back for many more ❤️

Definitely one of the best fusion restaurants in Perth. Service, flavor and the uniqueness of how creative they were with each dishes! Can’t fault anything and worth every single penny. Their wagyu steak is to die for! The just enough charcoal flavor and perfect level of cooking.<br/>Cozy atmosphere and perfect table service.<br/>Only found out at the end all these delicious, amaze ball food were prep by a 2 Michelin stars’ chef!!

Lunch was SUBLIME...<br/><br/>Unreal crispy squid tenaticles and katsu curry sandwiches... plus sweet beef ribs to die for and a decadent kimchi risotto.... mmmmm. Everything was perfectly delicious....wow!<br/><br/>Defo be back.... nice atmosphere and decent pricing :)<br/>

Space was minimalist, modern with a high ceiling. A bit noisy, with restaurant not completely full on a Saturday evening. Service was good.<br/>We tried all the tapas on the menu, 4 mains and Char Grilled Vegetables. Serve sizes of most dishes were bigger than tapas in most restaurants. Taste-wise it was mostly average on the deliciousness spectrum. Presentation of food was pretty for some dishes, and plain for the others.<br/><br/>Most of us liked the Confit Duck, Kimchi Risotto and Lamb Rump mains. Wagyu 9+ was chewy and underwhelming.<br/>All the tapas delivered some flavours, though we couldn't find the truffle in the Sukiyaki with Truffle. No stand out dish.<br/><br/>A free celery sorbet received mix reviews.

Pretty place, with perfectly cooked meat and beautifully balanced, intense flavors.<br/>Reasonably priced, nice staff.They tacked on an ice-cream for free after our spicy main, whether for my friends birthday, or just because, I don&#039;t know.

This place is a hidden gem!<br/><br/>My husband and I went to Binchotan on a Sunday night. It was pretty busy, there were around 5 tables beside us. We were greeted straight away and shown to our table. 5 star for the customer service :) <br/><br/>We ordered the Katsu Sando for appetizer. It was satisfying. The fat layer inside the pork katsu was melt-in-your- mouth material!<br/><br/>For mains, my husband ordered LA ribs and I ordered kimchi risotto. For me, kimchi risotto is the winner! It’s so unique but the flavour goes really well. The pork belly on top was so juicy and the poached egg on top gives it an extra oomph #drools<br/><br/>The LA ribs were really good as well. The flavour is on the sweeter side.<br/><br/>Portion wise, it’s big enough to fill you up.<br/><br/>Food: 4.5/5<br/>Service: 4.5/5<br/>Ambiance: 4.5/5

Tried this lovely place for lunch today for the first time. We were greeted with a smiling face. We ordered the Bibimbap and the Bangers and Mash. The Bangers and Mash was a good portion for me. Love the fermented cabbage that came with it and the pomme purée. Every element on the dish complemented each other. Loved it. The Bibimbap was ok, it could have done with more sauce though. Would love to come back and try the degustation menu and the a la carte menu too.

Wow! What can I say....The food here really speaks for itself. We ordered kingfish sashimi, and the octopus for starters which was followed by a celery palate cleaners that the chef had prepared and the sensational host recommended to follow our main meal... the rib eye steak with triple cooked chips. Unfortunately the only photos I have of this sensational experience was the rib eye steak as our eagerness to scoff our faces took over. <br/><br/>To top off the delicious food we had eaten, when we were leaving the chef personally came out and thanked us for coming and to make sure we had a great experience. <br/><br/>I will be highly recommending this place and if you’re looking for an incredible meal I would rush to this place before you’ll have to wait weeks to get in.

It was really cool the BEST Dryaged Steak house and Tapas new venue on Shfto lane in Perth CBD.<br/>Definitely come back to try other items!!!Very Impressed! They are cooking on Binchotan charcoal which finest of Japanese charcoal in the world.
