Review Tiger Lils - Perth

It's a great venue. Love the outside area.

Tiger Lil’s is wild on a Friday or Saturday night so depending on what time you go, I’d imagine you’d have vastly different experiences. The music is good, the decor is interesting, unique ambiance, drinks are fine, but (in pre COVID times or based on when it can operate at full capacity), it’s always crammed with people, hot as hell, and there always seemed to be a fight breaking out either inside or directly outside which ruins all the pros. It’s worth going once for sure, and I’ll probably return again at some point to give it another shot but if you go when it’s busy and especially later in the night on weekends - expect the above.

We had dinner before the place turns into a very crowded bar and it was fantastic. The food was great and the themed decor is over the top, if a little tacky, but still good fun. It was great to watch the place fill up over the night and have a dance before moving onto a less crowded spot. I was pleasantly surprised at what a good dinner spot it was.

We went here for dinner before a gig up the road at Capitol. Food choice was limited compared to some other venues, but what we did end up ordering was outstanding in both the quality and quantity. Dim lighting and some awesome interior design adds to the intended Asian theme of the place. We'll be back for sure. Drinks were reasonably priced also.

Cool atmosphere that shifts on Fridays and weekends after about 9:30 to skew younger. Come whenever it's a lovely venue. Love the long and slim approach. The back seating area is excellent to get away from everything if it's open.

I always have a good time here. Music is usually good and the crowd is cool too. Never has issues with staff. Bars can be packed and there can be a wait, but it's expected when there's a lot of people there. Want to have a fun night, go here.

Friday night after work drinks and the place was nearly empty despite the happy hour until 6pm. We appreciate the fact that our group was moved to a function room at the rear which gave us more room but the music ended up being so loud that none of us could talk and most of us ended up leaving by 9pm. It appeared that the loud music was really only entertaining the staff because they had noone to serve and the DJ who was in his own little world. The food menu is very limited and not very appealing. Apart from this the venue looks great but is sadly lacking in the areas mentioned above.

This place has a great vibe about it and really great music. But in summer it gets veerryy hot, not much air on the dance floor! If your going in summer, wear something like and prepare to sweat if you wanna move!

Super crowded place on the weekend but great music and vibe ! They played mostly popular music and some throwbacks. Would recommend for a girls night out.

We thought we’d try this place out on their newly promoted Thursday like we Friday the city of perth had going on. There was 2 other diners in there other than ours. So we had the place to ourselves basically. The only positive was the decor. We ordered two cocktails that were tasty but very weak. It took 22 minutes to make 2 cocktails, and the bartender was pretty rude when I asked her how much longer it was going to be. Poor customer service skills. Went to use the male toilet 4 out of 5 had no toilet paper and every toilet had brown streaks on the outside bowl of the toilet, nasty!! Not returning!

Cool little bar, but always very busy. Nice cocktail list - can't pass up the Gift of the Geisha - packed with lychee, moscato and soda water. It's refreshing and to die for! Decent prices too. Food wise, really enjoyed the Satay - especially the chicken. Lovely thick sauce and fun to share. A nice spot for a catch up with friends.

My impression of this place became positive after visiting during off peak hours. We sat in the outside area, had delicious mushroom and water chestnut spring rolls. Sipped on a Tokyo express cocktail which was amazing, kinda like an espresso martini plus coconut bits on the glass rim and coconut incorporated into the drink. The duck pancakes are s must! Service was polite and it was great not having to wait in line to order a drink.

We walked into this place looking for a pint on a mid week evening with a colleague. Colorful sort of place with outdoor and indoor seating options. We sat inside but unfortunately there was no coopers. One of the cashew munchies was rather interesting but overall a regular sort of place.

Decided to finally come and eat here after visiting the venue for many, many drinking sessions.  Ordered the Pad Thai which was pretty decent.  Given we went on a Friday night the atmosphere isn't the best as you're pretty much eating in a popular drinking spot.  Worth a try though.

Food nice, not amazing.  Staff friendly and informative when questioned about things on the menu.  Tokyo Express cocktail yummo.  Hated that you had to squeeze yr way through the gropers on the dance floor to get to the toilets though.  That was a negative.  Nice atmosphere and good music.

Great place right in the heart of the city<br/><br/>Food was lovely and very well presented<br/><br/>Great music and overall atmosphere<br/><br/>Cocktails were great and reasonably priced compared to other places. <br/><br/>

Had an amazing meal here tonight. Squid entree and Prawn skewers - very fresh. Huge prawns! Mains were the pork belly and pad Thai which was the best pad Thai I have ever had. Great service and atmosphere to boot. Will be back

Service, atmosphere and food are amazing. Went for a birthday dinner in the restaurant section which is just beautiful. They have some really great twists on  traditional dishes which made us struggle not to just order everything. Nothing was regretted.

My sister booked dinner for 20+ people for her 25th birthday, excellent food, good pricing and great service, went out of there way for her to have a perfect night, nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic night. My sister had her hens here last Sat night & it was fantastic! The food was delicious and service excellent. Highly recommended Tiger Lil's for a function. We also made it out on the dance floor later in the night!

Fantastic Night Out. Had a fantastic night out at Tiger Lil's on Friday night, a group of us had cocktails (which were delicious) and a large selection of the Asian inspired food (which was incredible), I especially loved the duck pancake rolls. The service was also great, the staff were really friendly and quick at serving, especially for a busy Friday night. Would defiantly recommend for drinks, a great meal or both! Thanks guys :)

Bittersweet Experience. Been here twice and both same experiences. Great food and wine list but service is truly meh! The first experience wasn't too bad maybe cuz we were spending heaps with food and champagne but the second experience, we walked in and was ignored. The female staff walked in past us, went thru the bar without even saying Hello to us. Waited for few mins to be seated then came waitress who talked thru the menu really fast and seemed can't be bothered. Plus the music was simply too loud for a dining experience. Been here both lunch and dinner, doubt I'll be back again. Its a shame as I do like their food but its all down to service in the end!

I must admit I havn't been to tiger lils for dinner since I stopped dinking candy sweet cocktails which was a few yers ago so I wasnt't expecting to much when a group of 14 of my friends went for dinner last friday. The service was good and apart from a few mix ups the food was good. My partner got the fish and he said it was one of the best he ever had. My lamb was good but a bit spicy( own fault I am a spice sook) overall definately exceeded my expectations.

Went to Tiger Lil's last night and we loved it. The decor was great, I loved all the lanterns on the ceiling and the seating was so comfy. The food was delicious (duck pancakes as an entree and the duck curry were just beautiful). The only fault I would mention is that the service could be improved on. Entree dishes weren't cleared promptly nor were drinks replenished. Aside from this, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and would definitely come back again.
FOODIE
Great. Had a great night at Tiger Lil's last weekend, awesome music and even better layout/decor. Definitely coming back to try the food.

Best birthday night. I came to tiger lils not knowing what to expect but I loved it! I booked a booth for my 21st and it was one of the best birthdays I ever had. The place had a very good atmosphere and good old school and dance songs.<br/><br/> I ordered a few platters and the takoyaki balls were incrediable! the best I have ever had. The cocktails were also very nice. Overall I recommend for functions and a night out.
Don't Mind If I Do
Surprisingly good!. Service was pretty good, and food was much better than I thought, been more of a pub/bar scene. Many of us in the group ended up ordering the same thing, a few variations but mainly sticking to starters, however I wouldnt say no to eating here a second time.

Great place for a celebration. We recently went to Tiger Lils to celebrate sons 21st birthday with a family group ranging in age from 15 to 80. Everyone had a great time! The food was really good and the staff were exceptional, they couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended.

I went here and the girl behind the bar ignored us and the place was pretty empty. When another girl finally came to the bar we were told there were no cocktails available, Bit of a let down.

Happy with Lil's!!!. After coming to lil's a few times recently to eat, my friends and I were really impressed by the food here. The starters are impressive, particularly the Prawn cakes & Soft shell crab, and we loved the Lotus chips! For mains we've tried the Beef cheeks, Barramundi, Jungle Curry, and Pad Thai; which were great value for money as the portions are big compared to a lot of places around the city. As for the service I don't know what everyone's on about, we were looked after perfectly. Definitely recommend this place!

Not as bad as i thought. Thursday October 4 Dinner<br/><br/>Love the tastiness of every dish that was ordered<br/>Love the bang for your buck!<br/>Love the restaurant side... wooden chair.. very comfortable lay out<br/>Loathe the lack of service.. even for a glass of water it was epic<br/>Loathe the wait time for food.. probably due to service
Ken
Not good enough. If you like being ignored then this place is for you, service requires a lot of improvement. On the upside the food is decent but due to the poor service I won't be back!

Mixed review. I work in town so have been there for lunch a few times. Service was great and the food was enjoyable and it wasn't hard to find something i like. We have had functions there and the finger foods for those where great. <br/><br/>They let me down a few weeks ago when i took some mates in there for a Friday night meal. I had booked, but the table allocated to us was a joke. Five blokes squashed into a table designed for 2 - no thanks. I asked for a more suitable table and that we would wait just outside. Went in after 10 minutes to check and they had clearly forgotten. They said wait 2 more minutes. 30 Seconds later my phone rang - Tiger Lils asking where we were as they are going to give our table away. We left!

Great atmosphere on Friday night when I visited with my husband. Very busy but the bar staff were happy to serve with a smile. Minimal waiting times for drinks. Stayed for a bit of dinner. We just wanted some nibble things and found the starters disappointing. I am not a fussy eater but I left my food on the plate and opted to stay hungry. <br/><br/>Great for drinks but eat somewhere else!

Tigerlils. I love this place. Most of my friends loves to hang out here especially after work- we love the dinner menu. I am addicted to their Pad Thai and the Beef dish. However, the alcohol is soooo expensive.

The food is fantastic, especially for the price you pay. I recommend having a meal there

Good for a beer when busy...but. Good place for a beer on a Friday night, but the quieter the place the worse the service gets. The food is not great when they are busy.... So when quiet food good service bad when busy service good food sucks

A 'roaring' good time. This place was booked for our staff function for Christmas. Highly recommend it for large groups as our party of 80 had a great time. <br/><br/>Chose to go with the banquet option for $40/person and they offered a drinks package (house wine, beer and soft drinks) for an additional $30 for 2 hrs.<br/><br/>I heard that the function coordinator was lovely to deal with and very helpful when making arrangements for people with food allergies. <br/><br/>Turned up around 12:30pm and we were taken to the back room which had been set up with round tables of approx. 10. The high table was also used as well as the tables in the booths. Slightly dark lighting for lunch but people were fine and had enough light to see what they were eating.<br/><br/>There is a bar in the same area and so people were able to walk directly up to it to order drinks. <br/><br/>Food, once it started to come out, came out in succession. Prawn crackers, chicken skewers, ribs and soft shell crab. The food was really tasty and people were happy with the flavours. They bring out a serve for each person on large plates.<br/><br/>Main - Mixed vegetables (didn't see any tofu?), beef cheeks and pad Thai. The beef was really tender and had a nice sauce covering it. The noodles were nice enough but lacked any additional vegetables or meat. <br/><br/>Dessert - Almond and vanilla ice cream cake. Was interesting, had a spice added to it which was quite strong. Not sure about the Persian fairy floss. Normally love it but this tasted of perfume? <br/><br/>All in all, Tiger Lil's accommodated us easily and even with difficult to please guests (2 or 3 in our group) they made sure the afternoon ran smoothly and guests were happy. Really enjoyed it all and would go their again for dinner or a function.<br/><br/><br/>-----28 Aug, 2011-----<br/><br/>Asian wannabe. Ate here last night with 15 others for a birthday. The staff were helpful as they joined the tables together to accommodate the group, however it was a tight squeeze. Decided that the drinks would be ordered at the bar to make payment at the end easier.<br/><br/>It's an Asian inspired restaurant but it's a combination of flavours. Malaysia curry, Japanese goyzas, Vietnamese salad are all on offer and the menu sounds great.<br/><br/>Ordered the crab rangoon, goyzas and the duck to share with my friend. The rangoon was explained to us by the waitress (who was extremely helpful) but on arrival they consisted of three fried wantons filled with some kind of cheesy dip. No crab to be seen or tasted, placed on some kind of apple puree, The goyzas were ok, very pink looking pork which my friend questioned to whether they were cooked. Hmm.. tasted just ok and nothing to write home about.<br/><br/>Disappointingly 15 mins after we ordered the duck, we were told that the last one had been sold and we had to choose something else. Went with the chicken which consisted of a chicken leg (decent portion) on a bed of greens and soba noodles. Again was nice but had to order rice to accompany the meal.<br/><br/>Overall, I prefer this place as a bar rather than a restaurant. It can get quite noisy and although our meal came to about $60 which is fine, I'd rather eat in Northbridge where the food is authentic Asian. <br/><br/>Glad I've been.

Funky Bar, Ho-hum Food. Dropped into Tiger Lil's last night for dinner and drinks. Started out chilling on one of the lounge areas before progressing to the dining area. As a bar, I really enjoy Tiger Lil's, its funky and manages to make a fairly large space feel cosy on a wintery evening. <br/><br/>After having a couple of drinks we decided food was the go. Once we were seated in the dining area the staff were very friendly and attentive. I was keen to try the barramundi, however was too slow - the last portion sold just as I was about to order. I switched to the prawn dumplings, other dishes orderd at out table were the kangaroo, lamb rump and the duck. <br/><br/>The food has an Asian influence, summed up fairly well by one of my dining companions "Yes, its an Asian influence but they're playing it safe". The serving sizes were very generous, however the food itself was so-so. My dumplings were oily, the duck breast hadn't been rendered well and retained a thick layer of rubbery fat and the kangaroo had a number of chewy/gristly pieces. The lamb rump was well cooked (medium rare), however the accompaniments were bland. <br/><br/>Would I go back? For drinks - yes. For eats - unlikely.

Can't comment on food as I wouldn't eat there as the bar smells (stale beer) so much u can smell it at the front door. Nice theme bar all the same.

Really tasty. Just had a really great lunch at Tiger Lil's. Was a quiet lunch period so the staff were abundant and quick. Had a really tasty chicken curry and my lunch partners recommended the beef cheeks and the kangaroo. All really well cooked and generous portions. Will be going again

Disagree. I found the staff at Tiger Lils very accomdating and had a good wine and liquor knownledge.<br/>After arriving with more people than we had booked for the staff were more than happy to accomodate dispite the lack of communication on our part. The bouncers, though definitely a presence in the venue, were a welcome one and I personally conduct themselves professionally and wished us a good night as we left the restaurant. <br/>The food was lovely and the staff polite and friendly. An enjoyable night was had by all. Highly recommended!
Nicole
Unprofessional culture. Tiger lil's has rude staff that roll there eyes when you ask a question, the staff are too young to deal with adults.<br/> The thug bouncers are intimidating on arrival and stand around and stare at people.<br/><br/>The food was nice but overall the venue USED to be a down to earth place ,now it's a rough environment with rude wait staff who have a ego!

I have been hooked on Tiger Lil' since going to lunch, with the girls from work 2 weeks ago and I have been back 3 times in a row. Crazy isn't it?   But I am like that! If I am hooked on something, I will have it continuously until I am sick of it and then moving on to the next big thing   I especially ♥ Tiger Lil's new Asian inspired menu [new as in I haven't been back to dine at Tiger Lil' since forever.... I didn’t have a good impression of it, the last time I was there. This dated back a few years ago though]

I don't particularly like reviewing places based on their chips, but they were good chips. The lime aioli was particularly nice too.

This place has a distinctly Asian flavour and also doubles as a bar. The setting is inviting, colourful and distinctly Asian with colourful lanterns all around the ceiling. I had the duck three ways which was excellent.
