Was in the area and had seen and heard they do a great breaky and coffee deal. Finally made time to go in and order the $10 eggs and coffee deal.
What did I think: not much. Service was a bit surly and I felt like an inconvenience. I asked for a hot coffee: don't do this here as they take this as an offence,. Coffee was pretty bad. I am sure it would have been good if I had not made any request. When ordering my eggs I asked what sort do you do. Another mistake. I got the eggs I wanted but they where badly cooked. That will teach me....
Lots of coffee and breaky places in the area so keep walking is my recommendation.

We got very rude service here. We ordered 2 breakfast specials, 1 x toast eggs and coffee $10, and bacon and Eggs and coffee $12.50. (we got charged $23,50 by the way but that was not the issue). <br/>we asked for the bacon and eggs to be just with bacon and no eggs (my wife doesnt eat eggs). We received one plate of bacon and eggs. When I asked the manager for the second plate, she said, you got it already, its all on the one plate!! She then said ''you got what you paid for''! (well then it should of been $12,50 plus an extra coffee!) She was extremely rude, worst service ever and it seems these days you only get a share plate for breakfast! Shocking customer service! Avoid!

Busy place, definitely can sit and talk if that is what you want. I often just grab a takeaway. Can't comment on food, coffee is a mild roast.

I went there this morning and ordered the porridge. It was the most disgusting porridge I have ever had. I actually can make better at home. The staff were miserable and did not smile once. It is shocking to see people hired in a hospitality industry with such bad demeanour. The only plus was good coffee.

Excellent cafe' very attractive decor, seating is looking over St George's Terrace, the all day breakfast of Poached Eggs & Bacon on toast with butter and Latte' was $10, you can't beat that for value, and furthermore, being a bit of a connoisseur of eggs and bacon, I will venture to say it was one of the best I have had, so thank you very much and I will definitely be back !

A small but cozy place and right opposite my hotel. Ordered the big breakfast and a chai latte, and took a seat. The chai latte arrived a few minutes later and was nice and creamy. The big breakfast had some great ham and hash browns. I would've liked the bacon crispy but then that was my fault in not specifying that in the order. The baked beans were not too shabby either. <br/><br/>Would recommend for a quick breakfast.

This place is ok - nothing special but certainly great value for money! There is an offer for all day eggs of your choice and coffee for $10. You can't beat that price in the CBD. They have black leather seats and booths which is an ok setting. I love that they had Frankie magazine available for me to read whilst I ate. I left feeling satisfied and ready to start the day!

Coffee very ashy and burnt although that could be the brand as its a cheap and nasty one. Nice atmosphere and great looking place. Good meeting room available and booths. Tables aren't cleared very often. If it had better coffee it would be my regular.

I work just down the terrace from Empire. Have walked past it every day for the past year. Met a friend in here this afternoon for lunch, I'll be back!! The staff were friendly, the coffee was phenomenal, made perfectly, which is hard to find in Perth sometimes! I had a salmon salad for lunch, flavour was well balanced and it was a good size for the price. Will definitely be back, two thumbs up

Great for a meeting. Great little place, ... only thing we can fault is the day we went they had no cream. If your considering a meeting with 10 - 15 people this is a great place for it. They have a little meeting room that can be booked, the toilets are clean and modern, the coffee and hot chocolates are great, we didn't have any but the blue berry muffins looked very tempting. I would consider this place if you wanted to shake up your next board room meeting. Book this place and have your staff meet you there. It's great.

Molly. I have never been served by such a disinterested person, he looked bored, he wasn't interested in helping, couldn't see a menu just a blackboard with 2 things on it, sandwiches looking unappetising. Great shame, its such a good location and should be a popular place.

This café is at least consistent - consistently bad, average food and disinterested staff. Give it a miss.

It's going downhill. Sorry but the service here is going downhill fast since change of owners, The staff seem uninterested almost bored, often there is no water available and their morning muesli has become "Claggy". Bring back the prior owners please, service with a smile.

BEST COFFEE IN PERTH!!! Re.... BEST COFFEE IN PERTH!!! <br/>Recently taken over in September 2014, empire espresso is even better than before. The coffee is reasonably priced and really friendly service too! I wouldn't go anywhere else. Hands down 100% better than LOWDOWN. Great job guys! Will definitely be coming back.

Might give them one more go?. I wasnt too fussed on my mocha this morning - $4.80 for regular/large size. It tasted kind of watery like they had used skim milk. Maybe it was an off moment as all of the other reviews seem to be pretty good with regards to the coffee - I will have to give them a second chance.

Great vibe...awesome coffee. Just want to draw everyone's attention to a great cafe on the terrace...there are so many that fall short but Empire doesn't! Really great staff and the coffee is fantastic. Cool vibe and a great place for a breakfast or lunch catch-up with clients or friends.

Great CBD Coffee!. It seems so standard these days for cafes in the CBD to serve below average coffee that is always burnt or lukewarm. <br/>EMPIRE ESPRESSO is a refreshing change where they serve great coffee and most importantly consistent day to day!<br/>Coffee is their hero here but they do have a great little menu for lunch or breakfast, recommended to try their Banana Bread!!

New cafe on the Terrace that specializes mainly in the coffee. That's what it's all about, right? Personally I'm not a coffee drinker but I like their hot chocolate. They also have green smoothies which I'm a bit partial too an it's a nice blend of pear, apple, cucumber, banana and spinach. Also has some baked good, such as muffins and croissants, as well as sandwiches, paninis and salad for lunchtimes. Good stuff!
