Review Hao Szechuan - Perth

It's my third time here, keep coming back for their spicy szechuan mala tang soup ♥️. Today I ordered sliced beef tongue and I love it. There are not many options on the menu but they're tasty. The service was so so, as it mostly self service restaurant. If you like spicy and strong flavour, this place is recommended.

Came for hot pot, it was very tasty but everything was $1 - $3 more expensive than the Cannington branch, and vegetable servings were smaller. Sauces are $2pp. Would recommend the mushroom base and the Chongqing spicy base (comes with a spicy beef fat Hello Kitty), and would recommend the handmade noodle. Prices for the self serve cooked bowl (you choose raw ingredients and they charge you by weight, then cook it for you) are $3/100g, minimum 300g. Overall would recommend if you're craving authentic Szechuan hotpot and don't want to make it yourself at home or drive to Cannington.

I was there 3 months ago on my birthday with my family, I just kept forgetting to review this place. I really like it, we had a mushroom and hot spicy both, with lots of things on the side. It was our first time having Chinese hotpot, we had no idea what to do, which sauces go well with them. Luckily the staff there were so helpful, they showed us how to do it. Especially a girl named Sunshine is awesome, she is super nice, friendly, and helpful. She gave us a big smile the whole time. The food was great, but the scollaps and the octopuses were still frozen, they took a long time to cook. In general, we really enjoyed the dinner. Highly recommended!!

One of the nicer Hotpot places in and around Perth / Northbridge. The excessive price sadly let's it down, not worth the value. Great Asian supermarket around the corner you can source all the utensils and ingredients for a far cheaper price for at-home style. The atmosphere is friendly but again the furnishings feel dated, our seating had lost the springs so one of our guests was almost sitting on the floor whilst at the table. Has potential.

Reasonable price per bowl and we can add anything that I want. Always fully airconditioning, clean and neat. Love to visit again!

You can choose what food you want then they weigh it up for the price and cook it. Very yummy. Spicy and non spicy option broth and other menu food options

Good selections on the menu, generous serving sizes. Expect 35 to 50 dollars per head depending on what you order.

A bit too salty but quality is pretty much the same as the previous on in vic Park. Fancy hello kitty chilli oil is an eye catcher. Meat board is too chunky on the table. Overall tastes good but quite a lot of MSG.

I’ve been addicted to Szechuan food for the last year or so and this place has been my go-to place whenever I’m craving Szechuan food. Ok, I admit there’s some ups and downs, but I still haven’t found a better place just yet. Always recommend their dishes over their hotpot!

It was a cold and rainy night and we wanted something warm and spicy. Decided to check out this place and it did not disappoint! Had the pot half mild spicy and half mushroom and ordered a variety of meats, veg and tofu. Delicious meal but really it’s hard to go wrong with hot pot. This place also does other noodle dishes and I can’t wait to be back to try them

Had hot pot here last friday. Both soup bases we tried were excellent. I really liked them and want to try the others they have. We got half spicy/half Tomato. Portions are  very good. The seasonings available were vast but I wish they had a neutral oil on offer  then seasame or chilli like corn oil. The coriander/garlic could be  fresher to be honest. I also think the hot pot options are a little unexciting personally. Needs more lung, aorta and stuff like that i.e more offal but what was on offer was good quality and thoroughly enjoyed! Definitely can't wait to go back.

Oh my god. This is the place for hot pot night. Coming here it's a little foreign despite the decor. So ordering things is a bit harder to understand. When you get there you inform the staff you're here for hotpot. They'll give you a sheet where you pick what broth you would like and what meat, vegetables, meatballs etc. you want. You can literally order anything for your hotpot. If you're unsure about portions I can tell you now do not worry. You get SO much. We got the quail eggs expecting 5 or so I'm pretty sure there was approximately 20. It looks expensive but the value is amazing. The broths are great I recommend the tomato base and they constantly refill it for you through out the night. As for service, there is a button on your table like Papparich to call the waiters and you can also regulate the temperature of the hot plate yourself as well. Me and my friends were so happy with the experience. This is our go to place for hotpot now!

This being my first Hot Pot experience i was so eager to try it and I thought it was just awesome. The service was good but I was very confused about how to order and what I was allowed to order/pick up from the sauce bar - which came down to the servers not explaining everything but that wasn't a put off since me and my boyfriend got more than we were expecting. We order the spicy and mushroom broth which were delicious but warning! only order the spicy if you aren't afraid or just love a really really hot, peppery and fire fuelled broth. The mushroom broth was absolutely delicious and I fell in love with all these mushrooms I had never tried before. Everything came in big quantities but hey it is hot pot (it's meant to be a communal meal) and even though we were sickly full afterwards we both loved our experience here. Next time I come back I'll be sure to pick the mini hot pot option instead :)

Tried the steamboat dish where you get to pick the ingredients that you want to have in your hot pot. Lots of food, veggies, fish and meat balls, tofu, mushrooms etc. We picked our ingredients and took the filled bowl to counter for them to weigh out. You can also choose what soup base you want, varies from mild spicy to super spicy soup base. We picked the medium one and it wasn't too bad. Will try the spiciest one next time. Will be back again

Very good Chinese restaurant. The level of spices is at the level of restaurant in the Sichuan region. It reminds me the real Sichuan food I had when I traveled to China.

It's a place that feed you with only a small budget, a place that I'll wanna my dinner to be after travelling aboard. Friendly staff and helpful, but for those who unfamiliar with the style of food, do your research before dining in. It's main stream in Chinese cuisine, but definitely a niche in western society. You'd not expect mum to introduce to you every dish she cooked, that's the sort of ambient there. Help yourself and be like home, the owner will treat you with her secret yummy dish!

I went there on Father's Day Sunday for dinner. The waitress helped with our order, but didn't clearly explain the soups came separate in the attached photo. We thought the spicy soup was a combination of both the mushrooms and chillis. I wanted crayfish they didn't have it then I ordered crab and they didn't have it. I wanted scallops and they didn't have it either. Ordering the greens they didn't have kailang so went with bok Choy. Ordered rice to have it come out cold with having to wait and ask again where it was. Finally they gave me a new one which was hot.

Great hot pot experience, several different base soups to choose from, best way is to get two split ones. Super easy to order, you just tick the options you want from the two page list. They have everything, and it's suitable for vegetarians with a big list of noodles, mushrooms, greens and vegetables. The meat options include all sorts of sliced meat, meat balls, seafood and more. Very affordable and so delicious, it's a great addition to the area.
