Review Coast Coffee Cafe - Perth

After 2 previous attempts to get here for breakfast we finally did. The menu was good, a nice list of choices. Coffee was good. Food was served quickly, portions were large. Service was average, had to get our own cutlery and sauces. Not the best breakfast but then again not the worst I have encountered. I would come back here again.

Service is great. quick and friendly. food however is pricey, and basically they offer the same again and again. no matter how many times you go there or how long since your last visit, the offer remains the same. not bad, just average. should be offering more for the price and the location.

Ordered a large (12oz) takeaway flat white, and cup was only 3/4 full...

Cajun Chicken Baguette has asian coleslaw with peanuts (wtf?), too much onion and small amount of avocado all with watered down cajun mayo. Great bread but thats it for that one. Maybe the others are better.

I had a coffee here once that actually tasted like old sponge water. Granted they might have spilled my coffee then sponged it up and wrung it back into my cup just that one time, but unfortunately they are now dead to me. Also their signage burns my eyes.

Failed to Deliver. The company advertised a delivery service, i called and ordered breakfast to be delivered the day before as a surprise for my partners special day as I had to fly out in the morning. Instead of my partner receiving breakfast delivered to say thankyou from me, she recieved a phonecall 20mins prior to when it was suppose to arrive to say they won't be delivering it and if she wanted it she would have to come into the restraunt. Terrible service. No apology's were given, and the surprise I had organised ruined. Refuse to go there again.

We were there on the Scoopon Deal and both had the Big Breakfast. <br/>The Food and service were excellent.

LivingSocial voucher. I have purchased a deal via LivingSocial believing this venue will try to impress and leave us with the best culinary experience possible. Quite the opposite was the truth. <br/>After initial argument about having to book a breakfast since it's a social deal, we have agreed to patiently wait for another 30 minutes. The deal itself did not instruct to book. (Just to show before ordering.) <br/>The Cafe was half empty, the kitchen could not be as busy.<br/>Very bad customer service, dirty water glasses, below average food. (I have never seen Eggs Benedict swimming in so much hollandaise sauce ever.)

Usually does good breakkie and coffees. Came here on a scoopon deal- tried the pesto chicken and eggs Benedict with salmon plus two coffees. They delivered bene with ham instead of salmon and charged extra for soy coffee despite scoopon deal. Hmm...

Went downhill super quickly. Been a regular at coast in west perth for years now. This cafe used to be buzzing in the morning with familiar faces waiting for their morning coffee fix and we could never get a table at lunch as it is too busy. Reservations were vital! Now the occasional day when i visit, there are hardly any people in here. The quietness has a strange vibe to it, it is not inviting and lacks positive energy. So what went wrong with this once popular cafe in the heart of West perth? Is it because that the coffee is bitter and cold? or that the staff looks like they are in sleeping clothe and very unprofessionally dressed? That the new manager could not understand a word i said? It is looking more and more like a cute bubble tea place rather than a cafe. PLEASE bring back the previous management and barista! What a waste of a once booming cafe.

Great job to the previous owner! <br/>The new owners have a big reputation to carry on. I wish them all the best! It is still okay, given the location and the atmosphere. However something just feels off. <br/>Just an advice, the girl behind the counter shouldn't be talking on the phone or playing with her phone while serving customers. It is rude. <br/>The macarons in the fridge looks old and not appealing at all. The coffee standards have dropped from perfection to good, sometimes average (consistency problem here?) they really need that smiley barista back or this place will start to release a drop in regular customers. <br/>I hope the new owners take this on board and improve. I will continue to support them, but with the current level of service and coffee, I'm not sure how long they will last. <br/>All the best!

Yum!. Love this place. Grab my coffee every morning from the smiliest Barista around. He has it made before I have even paid. Great for lunch and brekkie. The vego lasagne is to die for.

A little pricey but the best coffee I've had in West Perth. It's not bitter and never burnt. If you're a chocolate lover try their belgian hot chocolate. Its seriously good! I'm a big fan of the club sandwich. If you want to take a client out to lunch...I highly recommend this place!

The coffee presented well but tasted old and bitter. Disappointing.

Had the big breakfast to share, an iced choc and a latte. Coffee actually tastes like coffee not just milk. Iced choc very chocolately - yum! Breakfast to die for!!!!!

Had an awesome breakfast here for such an affordable price. Plus really good service aswell!! I really recommend this place if your looking for somewhere to enjoy breakfast, lunch or just a nice cup of coffee to enjoy.

Steak sandwich was good. Coffee was pretty good too but tasted a little burt.

Awesome cafe!. Been going to Coast Cafe, since the current owners has taken over the cafe and ever since there has always been constant improvement and something new every time I go back. Had a pretty average Mocha back in the day, but now is comparable to what is being sold in epic. Nice thick belgium choclaty Mocha, rich with the flavour of chocolate! for any Mocha lovers this is the place to go<br/><br/>New single origins coming in every couple of week to educate customers about the different kinds of coffees. Not only does Coast Cafe make great coffee and food. They always have something new for the customers to try if they wish to do so accompanied by their excellent service.<br/><br/>Awesome place to go to eat and have a beautiful cup of coffee!

Good place for lunch. They really make a great coffee and their menu is regularly refreshed. Try their banana bread and freshly sandwishes Probably the best steak sandwich which is my buddy always went there for it and cheaper than most. The service is brilliant. They're always smiling. If you're looking for a great atmosphere, new taste experiences and great service, pop in and see it.

Below par. Just didn't do it for me and I'm not too sure what all the other reviewers see in it. Panini were acceptable, wine by the glass was not and may have been better splashed over a side salad with some olive oil. With many other lunch time choices in West Perth it just wasn't enough to make me want to go back.

The big voucher rip off. The recorded message saying they are fully booked for a week for people who have vouchers, and offering no opportunity to for the future, shows they have no intention of honoring their commitments to their customers. Disgraceful.

Steak sandwich is the best choice for lunch. Always full house no tables at lunch time. The staffs r v weIcoming n' smiling. By the way, I ordered that flat white was great too

Quick, friendly, good. For lunchtime in West Perth, I find myself going back to this place. The sandwiches, pasta and salads are yum. I actually haven't found anything I don't like! <br/><br/>PLUS the service is good and quick. <br/><br/>Good food, good service!

Went there today witha jump on it voucher and had a lovely experience! Staff were really friendly and the guy behind the counter was always smiling. Had the chicken club and steak sandwich, both really tasty and the fries and aioli were delicious!

I work in West Perth, and this place is one of my favourites to have a quick lunch.<br/><br/>The guy at the counter is forever smiling and I swear it's contagious. <br/><br/>The food is simple, yet delcious. Although the Steak Sandwich uses standard sliced bread (multi layered) rather than a fancy bun or panini, the steak is cooked to perfection every time and the salad and the sauce that goes into it strikes a perfect balance.<br/><br/>Coffee is good too!

Just the place for Brekkie. Stopped in here with Dragonlady yesterday for breakfast.<br/>The cafe presents well is very clean and neat and the staff are happy and share that with their customers. Very welcoming.<br/>Dragonlady had the eggs benedict and I ordered sausages with fried eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast.<br/>The eggs benedict was well presented though not traditional, in the sense it was served on toast not muffins. There were generous helpings of sliced ham presented under each of the two eggs. The eggs were slightly overcooked for our tastes as we like our yolks runny, but these were soft. (We could fix this next time by asking for runny yolk). The hollandaise sauce was a nice colour and had very good lemon flavour, a little more would have been nice though.<br/><br/>The fried breakfast I had was good quality standard fare, though the eggs again were slightly overcooked for my tastes. The sauasages were chipolata type but a good quantity made up for size. The tomato was fried to hot without being turned to mush and the mushrooms were tender with good flavour. A good selection of spreads was presented for me to put on any toast which I had left over.<br/>Dragonlady indulged with a hot chocolate which looked good and tasted great and I had a lemongrass and ginger tea, just the thing for the cold weather and very invigorating.

This place is great for lunch. They do a great coffee too.

...Marinda Leigh's current favourite is Coast's cold drip coffee. Cold drip is a filtered style coffee which takes about 8 hours to produce just 500ml of coffee. The specialty grade beans which Coast selects for this particular style filter is roasted much lighter and of a higher altitude. As a result, it produces a smoother, almost tea-like aroma, taste and aftertaste. It was tasty, the service was incredibly fast and very friendly and you’d be in and out with a full belly and a smile on your face before you knew it. Only sad I just realised what a gem Coast Cafe is!
