A convenient but nice sushi store. I went in for lunch, looked at the terrific selection of sushi and meals before taking 1 mixed and 1 Teriyaki Chicken. Both were soft and moist with great flavours. The only thing disappointing was the high price ($& for five pieces) and the soy sauce container. (difficult and messy to open) But overall it was a good sushi restaurant of which I would be very inclined to revisit.
Tasty Japanese sushi. Always like their fresh sushi. also many hot dishes to choose from, cheap and tasty. Service quick and effective. definitely ideal choice for office lunch.
Fresh and Tasty. I love this place for the friendly and efficient staff as well as the great sushi. Highly recommended.
Great Sushi. So I have ordered from here a lot. I think the lunch rush is tribute to the quality of food served. You are best to preorder bentos boxes and curries for this reason. The food tastes healthy and you feel full after it. There are a variety of combo sushi, along with great friendly service you see from the same 4-5 staff everytime. They even learn your favourite after a while.
Without a doubt the best Japanese in the city. I've eaten here once or twice a week since July 2010 and am yet to be disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is absolutely fantastic. The katsu and curry are my favourite dishes.
Great quick lunch. I eat lunch here probably twice a week, and love it. The staff are lovely, the service is fast and efficient, and the price (while not low) is not bad.
My favourite thing on their menu (possibly my favourite thing ever) is their spring roll- absolute perfection in crispy pastry, full of delicious fresh veggies. I always get one to eat while I'm waiting for my hot meal to be cooked (rarely ever more than 3-5 minutes for that).
My next favourite is probably the beef udon noodle soup- great quality beef and plenty of it, sliced razor thin in a yummy soup with lots of udon, plus lashings of tofu, crab stick and spring onion.
I'm also a fan of the teriyaki beef, the katsu chicken and the karaage chicken, but overall I haven't tried anything that didn't meet my expectations. All in all, I highly recommend for a quick and delicious lunch in East Perth.
Had katsudon and karage chicken, pretty good quality though slightly pricier to what I'm used to getting around the city~ but alright for a suburban restaurant I suppose
Fresh and tasty. Chicken teriyaki is my fav
I had a lovely lunch here - Tofu Teryaki Combo. I was served an incredibly large portion of fried tofu with rice, salad and 4 pieces of a salmon and avocado roll. Only $10. You can add a miso soup for only $1. Steal! The staff are so nice and accomodating. They made a custom combo box with everything I asked for. There seemed to be quite a few regulars. The food was good - my friend had chicken teriyaki which she said was great - and my meal was good but nothing spectacular. The sushi rolls were pricey in my opinion. $6.50 for 5 pieces of salmon and avocado. $7.50 for most of the other rolls. After 4pm I think the sushi prices drop to $2, otherwise the combos are definitely the best value. They do have a large variety of dishes - curries, soups, salads and different teriyaki and karage meals. If you're nearby check it out but it's not a place I'd seek out.
Fast tasty food. If you want tasty, fast-food style Japanese, then this is your place. Hard to go past the katsu but there are plenty of other yum dishes on the menu as well. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious. Good miso. Staff are friendly and remember their regulars. One reason I miss working in East Perth.
I just ate the tofu don and it was amazing. It came with a vegetable and a pickle which made my lunch taste so good. The flavour was on point and the egg was perfectly cooked. I am looking forward to getting more meals from here.
I come here most weeks for work. Consistently delicious food that’s served professionally and quickly. Fair prices and always a treat to buy lunch here.
Tasty rice bowls (donburi) with generous portions. The teriyaki is good and so is the katsu curry. The staff are very friendly and polite, and give great service even during the busy lunch hour. The sushi on display is a tad pricey though, for the number of pieces you get. I'd stick with the hot food as it's much better value.
I wouldn't call this 'great' Japanese food, but it's certainly competent. Super-popular with the local office crowd. Friendly staff. A surprisingly varied menu, not just sushi, but if you want sushi it's ready to grab and go. If you want something else, it'll be made quickly for you. I want to come back and try more of their menu. If you live or work near here, this is VERY worth trying.
The best sushi in Perth in my opinion. Not just the food but the staff are so friendly it's not funny ! I get my lunch from Royal at least 3 times a week & I always look forward to walking in the door and being greeted with a big smile and delicious, fresh, well priced food.
Delicious mixed tempura for lunch
