I like the mango cake (previously bought for a friend's birthday) and a big fan of the wife cakes. I always get a couple of wife cakes if I'm in the area. My LO likes the mini cupcakes and pandan roll.
Beautiful, light, airy bread and pastry. It is incredibly cheap for its delicious, high quality offerings. Pineapple coconut pastry is sooo addictive, we grab a couple whenever in the area.
Good quality bakery items to take away, and at reasonable prices too. A fairly typical Asian bakery that apparently provides custard tarts and other items to well known local restaurants.
Many of the cakes and buns are light end airy. I've always had friendly, efficient service here.
Just a few doors down from Tak Chee House (awesome chicken rice) is Esther’s Cake Shop. Being a sucker for baked goods, I was immediately drawn in to the egg waffle that was freshly made and ordered one of those. There's plenty of other items on display and the freshly made warm Chinese egg tarts had that on my order as well. It's really yum, lovely flakey pastry, warm soft custard. The Portuguese egg tart version has more sweetness which I prefer but these are yum too. As I walked back to the city, I munched on the waffle that was really delicious. I love baked goods and these met my sweet tooth cravings.
I grabbed a sneaky slice of the green tea cake and the oreo cookie cheesecake to sample as options for my husband's birthday cake. The green tea sponge did seem a little on the dry side, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The oreo cheesecake was a moorish, creamy, melt-in-your-mouth delight, topped with oreo halves. Very nice little treats that were not overly sweet - suits my palate just perfectly!
Really good pandan cake and the mango cake is so yummy! They have all your Asian childhood sweets like the sweet bun with hotdogs. The con? Service - barely there but the cakes make up for it.

Mango cake$45 for about 12 decent slices - layer of real sliced mango at the top over cream and sponge with mango filling in between - was quite a hit with the party. I find it slightly pricey but it's a great bakery that opens till 8pm on weekdays when everything else is shut or isn't as fresh.
Their pork floss buns, muffins, fluffy cheesecakes are regularly consumed by our house hold.
Great Asian bakery (limited ones around in Perth - the others are Utopia and Regent Cakes around the Northbridge area)
Yummy cakes, I like the green tea and mango flavour.. The bread are also fresh, whichever we choose it's smooth n soft... Very consistent n reliable cakes
I'm really surprised to read the reviews on this place and am glad I saw them after I'd eaten their desserts because I loved it. It's across the street from Viet Hoa (where we'd eaten lunch earlier) so we headed over once we'd finished our meal.
It's a tiny shop and the concept is the same as many bread/cake shops they have in Singapore. You collect a tray at the entrance and then load up with delights (using the tongs provided) from the clear plastic compartments lined along the wall.
Helped ourselves to the pineapple bread, the pineapple and coconut bread, a sponge cupcake and a serve of pandan cake. All up it came to $8 - bargain.
Sampled all of them on the way to the car and they were delicious. The pandan cake was light and nicely flavoured. The two pineapple breads were generously coated in their crispy sugar topping and filled with custard. Super soft and tasted really fresh. The cupcake was lightly sweetened and so light, it was like eating air.
Loved all of our choices and will definitely eat their food again. All of their goods looked fresh and tasted great. Winner for me.
I like the coconut buns, fresh in the morning... If I feel like it I might grab a hotdog in a bun- not bad either... Great to have a lil taste of an Asian bakery/cake shop in perth.
Beautiful birthday cake. So fresh and perfectly balanced. It was so big for the price bargain 😍 The lady at the counter was so helpful even the we ordered last minute. Definitely coming back. Thank you heaps 🎂💓
We got Ubereats through this bakery, a birthday cake. A fruit cake. And it was Ah-Mah-Zinggg!
The sugar was very balanced, the cream was very light and the bread was moist. Just perfect.
One of the best fruit cakes I have ever had! The cake is juicy(melts in your mouth!!) and the cream is not too sweet(Prefecto!)
The bread from this place is generally good Nd the price is good also. Shown below is a Raisin and Custard Bun. Only about 5 dollars
Authentic Chinese Bakery. Tasty food and friendly service
