5. Dreamy.
Pancakes so fluffy. Lemon curd so smooth and sharp. And did I mention the deep fried poached eggs?
Noise level: normal.
Accessibility: they have steps inside but you can be seated out front.
Cute little retro cafe - small space, small but well chosen menu and lovely helpful staff. A bit out of the way but would come again if nearby.

Cute cafe to spend weekend with lots of toys and good food! I try their wagon wheels and beef risoles! Feels like I get back to my childhood age. Playing while eating is one of my favourite But every parents would not let us do it as a child 🤣🤣 . Love to be here!
Overall good experience. A+ for the decor and the retro vibe. We ordered the jam lamington milkshake, lime thick shake, beef and Brie burger and fish finger sanga. Each item was interesting however felt they just slightly fell short of the mark in terms of wow factor. The beef burger was dry, the shakes weren’t icy cold (just room temperature) and the price is just a tad over. We will be back though!
Such a cute place that brings you back to your childhood.
There were checkered tablecloths and retro boardgames you can play with while you are there.
The food is amazing as well. We got:
- bacon and egg roll
- veggie burger
- mac and cheese jaffa (this wasn't on the menu but I asked and the kitchen made it especially for me and it was amazing!)
- chocolate fudge milkshake
We also got a bag of lollies on the way out.
I love this place.
I have been dreaming about coming here for ages, and my wish was finally granted!!! My inner child was awakened by the bright decoration and candy bar, and the retro music spread positive vibes. We ordered the mushroom burger ($14), mac n cheese($8), red hot Benny brekky ($18.50), a banana split ($15) and two milkshakes: the pavlova and vegan shake. The mac n cheese was a big portion for its price and a great comfort food, and the eggs Benedict was unique with its sriracha sauce and deep fried eggs. Along with the smoked salmon, avocado and spinach, it had all of my favourite things on a plate. :) The milkshakes brought back childhood memories but were tad too sweet for me to finish, and the banana split was the star of the show, with the gourmet icecream and caramel. This is the perfect location to go with friends!

A bit on the pricey side, but what isn't these days THOUGH it was definitely worth it.
Breakfast burrito was perfect alongside a perfect cookies n cream milkshake. Coffee was just right. Service was quick, happy and genuine.
We'll be back!
Adorable little diner, gets busy very quickly so I recommend making a booking. Affordable prices and some nostalgic dishes like mac n cheese + FAIRY BREAD! Try the deluxe milkshakes, make sure you read the chalkboard for special of the day.
If you're pushing 35 and up, Daisy's Milk Bar will take you straight back to your Redskins eating, FADS smoking, Double Dip snorting childhood spent at your local milk bar! The prices may have gone up but the memories will come flooding back!
We ordered the caramel and rocky road milk shakes. Both were so delicious that Miffy dived in! The rocky road was the "milkshake of the week" but it was that good that should become a permanent fixture of Daisy's, next to the multicolored plastic door strip curtain!
For lunch we had breakfast! The breakfast burrito was packed with eggs, chorizo, bacon, potato and homemade goodness! The Daisy's Breakfast had homemade cheesy tater tots! Worth it just for these! But the sausage, baked beans and everything else on the massive plate was delicious!
The staff are friendly, the food is awesome, the music is great! (Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone is in their mix!) Lot's of Uber Eats were going out the door but the staff looked after the patrons. They've definitely taken on the feedback from past reviews.
We'll definitely be back again.... after Miffy has a bath!
The best recreation of the classic eggs benny I've ever experienced!! Service was great and all the staff were quite friendly. Lovely, homely atmosphere with classic Aussie tracks pumping from the stereo. Highly recommended!'
Yaaas! You know its a great bacon and egg roll when the egg yolk is dripping down your hands. Super fun place and really lovely coffee. You get the vibe that the owners are well loved in the area. Will be back to try the pesto eggs!
Great prices, yummy food with real butter, real meat, and real tinned beans/spaghetti/whatever else. Milkshakes excellent. Coffee good, good service, crap location, sometimes pretentious patrons, has a 50's milk bar theme but everyone goes here for the food. Did I say it is yummy?
This place is very kitsch, and visually very overpowering. Other than this criticism, I came here 2 weeks ago and the food is very nice and very tasty. I would love to visit this place again
Fantastic little cafe that feels like time warp to my childhood. Amazing food, and that lolly wall is so hard to resist... Highly recommended!
Heard good things about Daisy's and finally went for breakfast. Veggie breakfast burrito did not disappoint! Staff were lovely and coffee was good. Will return!
Delicious shakes and a nice breakfast menu. The pesto eggs were well made and I recommend the breakfast burrito which was flavoursome! The peanut butter choc shake was so yum! Friendly staff too. Will be back one day.

Yeah definitely enjoyed my time here, so much so that I think I'll be back sooner than later
A really cool down to earth great vibe place that doesn't take itself to seriously and is about the atmosphere as much as the food
Service was very friendly all the more making this an enjoyable experience
The exceptional homemade banana and coconut bread that you cant ever get anywhere else. I'll def go back to try other foods. Interesting menu.
This cute American diner style cafe is as pretty as a daisy with friendly, smiling staff, great tasting food, a good selection of sweet treats daily & one of the most delectable old school millshakes or thickshakes. You will be addicted to come back and try all of their shakes! The breakfast burrito is delicious & hearty, love the generous portion of pesto eggs & the jaffles are a great snack or light meal. Love their house made wagon wheels and rocky road and slices and pies and those shakes!!!
I came to Daisys milkbar a while ago. I ordered a toastie and lime milkshake, both of which were delicious. This place has such an old school milkbar feel to it but it can fill up quick! I would love to come back and try the desserts because the dessert menu looked amazing! It did take a while for our food to come out however service was friendly.
That hidden milk bar close to the city! Step back in the future when you enter the doors of the cafe with huge milk bar writing. The staff there are super friendly and offer good suggestions on the menu. When we went I ordered the pulled pork jaffle toastie! Jam packed with flavour and soft slow roasted pork. Filling, but in a good way. Wife got a burger which she was satisfied with which was packed with flavour!
The highlights were the drinks. I got a vanilla thick shake which was in a metal tin! Haven't had them in years - it was certainly thick and required two straws and my wife got a Jaffa milkshake which was also really really yum.
For fun dining with a 50's retro vibe, head to Daisy's.
The menu offers everything from burgers, sandwiches and jaffles to pancakes and sundaes, there is something for everyone.
Came here a while ago and it was quite a pleasant experience. The interior was absolutely delightful with hints of retro highlights and warming aesthetics. The service was also very accommodating with lovely staff whom were easy to chat with. The food was okay, and personally we thought the emphasis was placed more so on the "milkbar" culture rather than the food, as it wasn't exceptional. We had an egg and bacon roll, breakfast burrito, white chocolate and raspberry milkshake and chocolate milkshake. The bacon and egg roll was as you would expect it to be, the breakfast burrito was quite exciting and warming with great hits of chilli running through it and the milkshakes were both delicious! Definitely come here if you're in the area!
What can I say.. Went there with my bestie, had a lime milkshake that was nice for a hot day. But that shake that my friend ha was amazing! It was nutella and peanut butter milkshake!! It was like eating peanut butter/nutella straight from the jar.. Super sweet! Definitely great for sugar fix.
Far from a gimmick, Daisy's is a staple of inner west cafe "culture"! Can't say enough good things about this place, awesome food, servers are always happy and usually pretty cute which doesn't hurt ;)
Daisy’s Milkbar is a 1950’s retro style café, stuffed with witty kitsch ornaments, booths, knickerbocker glories and lollies….lots and lots of lollies!.Â
Enter Daisy’s Milkbar, off busy Stanmore road through a glossy pink door and discover a wonderful, colourful retro, rock-a-billy style world, complete with lots of gorgeous detail, from kitsch little ornaments to jars of lollies, murals and neon signs. Kids will be enthralled by all the things there are to look at; especially the lollies…oh did I mention the lollies?
Daisys milk bar was amazing! i absolutely loved it! I recently went there for my birthday and ordered a spider. there were so many interesting flavours to chose from and the service was excellent.
Quirky little cafe staffed by happy people with lots of tatts! Love the homestyle cooking and the coffee comes from Double Roasters at Marrickville (yum). Can be a bit busy but I've never had to wait too long for a table. Get yourself a booth, a milkshake and pretend you're a hipster back in the 50's! Or don't pretend and be a real hipster. Your choice.
Had the most amazing time at Daisy's. Their milkshakes (we had the Fairy Bread and Turkish Delight) are a must try and the breakfast burrito was a stand out. I loved the decor and the American vibe. The service was nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend coming here!
Pulled pork roll was to die for! Also got a milo milkshake with a coffee shot and that really hit the spot. During the week there is no long wait time!
The burger wasn't too bad, maybe it was because it was late during the day but the burger bun I had was slightly burnt which caused it to be hard and dry by the time I could get through the huge burger. Overall the flavours weren't so bad and. The beef patty was worth it :)
This little gem is a winner for the locals!
It's a small little Cafe that's set up kind of like an old school diner.
Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and you won't be disappointed by the quality of food.
(Try the peanut butter milk shake and your taste buds will explode!)
Only downfall is, it is small and always busy! So
Try and get there early to get a table .
I went to Daisy's Milkbar for a midweek lunch just before major dental surgery. It was carefully chosen as a cheeky 'last supper' because I had heard great things about the milkshakes and really, it just looked so damn cute! As it was mid week (a Wednesday I think) we easily got a table inside and were served promptly. I had the milkshakes of the week which was the most delicious oreo milkshake that i've ever had. It was rich, sweet and full of oreo flavour. For lunch I had french toast with icecream and a poached pear. Because that definitely counts as lunch. The french toast was similarly delicious and served by a cheerful waiter.
On later visits I have also tried the Uccello's jaffle which is off the hook! For $6 it is a well priced throwback to the jaffles of my childhood with the added bonus of pulled pork. Highly recommended! I also tried what I think was a watermelon and berrocca smoothie which was an oddly refreshing combination. Probably not for everyone though.
I've been wanting to hit up Daisy's Milkbar for awhile now. It didn't disappoint. The guy that served us (Jake) was very friendly and brought our food out pretty quickly.
I had that week's special White Chocolate and Raspberry Marble shake with the Baked Bean Jaffle. Both were super delicious.
I will definitely be going back again to try the other delicious sounding dishes (*milkshakes).
On my recent eating tour of Sydney we started our Saturday with a visit to Daisy’s Milkbar in Petersham for brunch. We got there around 10am and managed to snag ourselves a seat outside in the sunshine, with the place quickly filling up not long after we arrived. It’s decked out like a retro milkbar, with lollies on display in glass jars around the counter and everything – super cute!
Daisy's milkshakes taste like children's dreams. We had their vanilla malt and strawberry shakes and enjoyed them so much that we went back for more. There's something artificial-tasting/surreal(I say that in a good way) yet simple about the shakes that takes you back to your childhood. Think of the flavours in Neapolitan ice cream.
There's nothing healthy and nothing omitted or added to their shakes to make them healthy or hip for you-- it's just pure unadulterated bliss.
Their pulled pork with Mac and cheese jaffles and chorizo and egg breakfast wrap busted my belly so be mindful of how much you will order if you plan on having their shakes. Daisy's big breakfast was simple and done well but not impressive; I would not reorder it.
The female waitress was also very friendly. I would definitely return here for their shakes.
For a few months before we finally managed to visit this restaurant, its signboard ‘milkbar’ had caught my attention. There was that sense of old-fashioned / retro look to the restaurant. The restaurant’s name is Daisy’s Milkbar. On a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was buzzing with people. One thing that made us happy was that the staffs were all lively and cheerful even when the wait was actually quite long.
Daisy’s Milkbar has quite a simplistic presentation for their dishes. Their milkshakes were one of the best ones in Sydney.
I don't think you could ever leave Daisy's in less than a good mood. The coffee here is robust, the food is flavourful and filling, and the people are absolutely top-notch! I love the attention to detail in the set up and menu of this place as well. All of my experiences here have been excellent! Will be coming back time and time again.
Spice your appetite with the carb-loaded big breakfast and juicy chilli breakfast burrito. Garnish with a creamy vanilla malt milkshake to complement and take a visit to the free cordial stand which adds to the authenticity of the milkbar scene.

Cute little set up! Great cup of coffee, I was impressed. The spider drinks were great. Haven't had them since primary school! We ordered the breakfast burrito which was filling, delicious and nice and spicy. Home made potato gems are the best. Just disappointed the kids soldiers were hard boiled not soft, kids were disappointed so we ordered the hotdog as well. Should have used a softer type of bread roll for kids as this one was too big and hard for a child. Will be back again
... we headed off to Daisy’s – so glad it was open because I’d been wanted to visit Daisy for a long time. All their food looks so amazing.
Daisy’s Milkbar had been on my wish list for a long time so one day, before taking myself to the movies, I visited for brunch. It’s such a sweet little cafe with milkshakes, sundaes, a cordial station and a cutesy, freshly painted dessert feature wall.
Free cordial ... 'nuff said. Just noticed the no. 1 Sydney and Brisbane reviewers' comments here. I went here a while back as it's in my extended catchment area. Went first thing so didn't have the deal with the crowds that others encounter (lucky that eh?) - in fact was on my own for most of it before a couple of bloggers showed up. Had the big breakfast with haloumi - can't really say it was that big but tasted fine. The vanilla malt shake was fine and I drank far too much of the various free cordial that was on offer. Life is hard when you have a sweet tooth that must be served.
That warm, fuzzy feeling. It’s the feeling you get when you meet your crush for the first time. It is also the feeling you get when you step inside Daisy’s Milkbar and notice the wonderful hues of blue, pink and yellow whilst being smilingly greeted by co-owner, Jess. This spot is so 1950s/60s that you’d almost expect to see a not-so-baller Don Draper (Mad Men) reading a newspaper while sipping on some delicious Double Roasters Coffee.
Located in Petersham, round the corner of the rather cool Oxford Tavern lies this discreetly charming Milk Bar. Its all pastels and sunshine in here. A bit of a departure from modern schmick cafes with pendant lighting and ceramic tiles but Daisy manages to hold its own. Lets eat some desserts!! Daisy’s has a old school charm that’s evident even from the street side. Various knickknacks and sweets you can purchases here. There’s some cute candy and then there’s the excellent stickchai. Bright pastels abound. There’s a Free cordial station in the right corner there. There’s booth seating inside. This was a banana nutella Jaffle and its only $5. Its delicious. We slathered it with icecream from the other desserts we had. Hot gooey nutella, banana and icecream is the way to go. Their Knickerbocker $14 is a tall glass full of peaches, berry coulis, cream, icecream. It’s pretty great. Would. Loved the garnishes. Ice cream Sandwich. Its kinda big – there’s vanillabean icecream, some nice strawberries and chocolate biccies. Looking at this, we want another. Now. Rather enjoyed our time at Daisy’s Milkbar. We spent a good arvo there – not pictured were the pots of tea and stickychai we had. Got to have a chat with Jess and she told us that btw then (when they started DMB) and now; they’ve had a commercial kitchen installed and there is now a more substantial menu present so its not all sweet treats. There were sandwiches, breakfast burritos and breakfast menu items. Come say hello to Jess and Jake and eat their delightful foods.
Stepping into this quaint milkbar is like being welcomed by a ray of sunshine filled with old school 50’s retro decor complete with it’s own Cottee’s cordial station. I love the pastel colours and all the jars of candy on the counter filled with favourites like Redskins, Cola bottles, strawberries and creams, and Push pops! Choc fudge sundae $14 Scoop each of vanilla bean, chocolate and strawberry jam ice cream with chocolate fudge sauce, hot chocolate brownie, flaked almonds, whipped cream and a cherry on top A sublime dessert which screams summer and childhood memories of after-school treats just like the way mum would make it. The ice cream here is supplied by Serendipity and the strawberry jam ice cream was my favourite of the three! Creamy and jammy goodness. Hidden under all the ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate fudge sauce was slab of really chunky chocolate and macadamia brownie :) It would have been awesome if there was Ice Magic on this! Ban

The Beach Boys on the speakers, pin-up girls taking orders, a cordial station, jars of sweets and gingham curtains… If this place was any cuter I could be sick. Luckily this inner west café is perfect for the old-fashioned milk bar menu. Think shakes, Jaffles and sundaes - but with a modern twist. Greg’s Jaffle ($6) is loaded with bolognaise, while Uccella’s packs pulled pork inside a golden, white bread pocket. Breakfast is served all day, which is great because the Zucchini and Corn Fritters ($16) should be enjoyed at any given time, made special by a lovely Indian relish and cardamom yoghurt. Of course it wouldn’t be a milk bar without a...
Pleasant. This small retro cafe, beautifully decorated, was surprisingly full on a weekday at around 12. Yet I was comfortably seated at the bench facing the window, and informed by the kind waitress of the specials. I ordered the special milkshake which was Banoffee made with dulce de leche and real banana ($7) and a side of mac and cheese ($5). The milkshake when it arrived caused me some disappointment- not in a tin! I can only assume this irregularity was due to the unexpected popularity of the joint as I believe tinned milkshakes are their usual habit. However the flavour was not at all disappointing- both the banana and the caramel flavours definitely came through and worked together lovingly. The mac and cheese was surprisingly large for a side and I was glad I hadn't ordered anything else. I found it to be flavoursome and deliciously cheesy. Service was friendly and cheerful, and I would love to come here again.
Delicious breaky. The breakfast burito was delicious. They even did it on gf toast for me instead of the tortilla.
Big servings and very reasonably priced. One of the best breaky places in the inner west!!
Diana. Cool retro spot in the heart of the city, love the deckchairs & old fashioned appeal-takes me back to the British beach set of the 60's LOL! Oh & those milk shakes whoop whoop!!
Cute little place, with a nice fitout and Elvis playing in the background. We had the pancakes for breakfast which were nice. I think it is a little on the expensive side but the atmosphere makes it worth it. It is good to have something different in Stanmore,
Daisy's is a really cute cafe with booths and 50s pastel decor. Really into the milkshakes and toasted jaffles!!
I love milk. Best milkshakes in the inner west!
Awesome pulled pork sandwiches, milkshakes and staff. Highly recommend. Only issue is that it's slightly small so fills up fast!
Get there - definitely have a milkshake. Thought it was excellent, fun vibe, great staff, yummy food, free cordial, awesome milkshakes. It's the little things that made us all nostalgic, redskins and free raspberries. The "Great piccolo scandal" (someone elses coffee ended up on our table) was handled with great humour by the staff. We will be back.

We'll definitely be back again.... after Miffy has a bath!
Brekky on a Sunday morning. Coffee was decent and came quickly. Chorizo and egg Burrito was nice if very Oily. Avocado Toast was solid but nothing spectacular. Cool fun decor and worth checking out, will be back for lunch soon
Good food portion sizes for the price. Food great tasting, good vegan options. The thickshake was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. Staff are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Will definitely be coming back soon!
You must visit this place. Not just once. But again and again and again. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the uniqueness... It's all here. I could write an entire essay about why you should visit this shop, but I'd just be wasting your time. So just stop reading and just go see for yourself. This is a hidden gem that's hidden in plain sight along a heavy traffic section of Stanmore Rd. I can't believe I've been driving past the shop for years and never realised it's been there. It's kids friendly too. Parking around on the side streets.
With service as sweet as the menu, Daisy’s Milkbar is a delight from the moment you walk through the door. Serving sizes for main meals are generous and reasonably priced. The pavlova milkshake is a real highlight, but it’s next to impossible to pick a single favourite menu item.
Daisy’s Milkbar is more than just a place to eat - it’s a sensory experience.
The food was super tasty and atmosphere nostalgic. Definitely coming back to try the new cocktails and play a few rounds of Uno (-:
