Good vibes and good food! We had the prawn pizza, pork belly and mushroom Ragu papperdelle. Prices were okay for the area the restaurant was located in. The pizza was very thin (may have been it's style but I guess hungry me wanted something a bit more filling) and the Pork Belly was very worth it!
Finished off with a Nutella calzone and you honestly can't go wrong with Nutella. They even asked us afterwards if there was enough Nutella. Would definitely recommend for the good vibes!

Goldfish is a big place. Really big actually, when you take into account it’s large indoor area and the sprawling outdoor verandah gazing out over green fields. They can certainly fit a lot of people in here. We were on a trip to the Hunter Valley and wanted some share food. Goldfish unashamedly pitches this way. It sits inside the Roche Estate winery where there is a lovely foodie oasis of restaurants, bars and eateries. We’ve visited this oasis quite a few times before but hadn’t made it to Goldfish until now.
A great casual bar and kitchen with lovely outdoor seating overlooking the vineyards. A good variety of dishes designed for sharing at decent prices is why we chose to eat here.
The thin based crispy pizzas were great, the flatbread garlic one was my fave, the margarita was good too. Chips and truffle mayonnaise were AMAZING! Golden, crunchy skin on chunky chips with the most amazing truffle aoili mayonnaise.
Everything was lovely and decadent! Though I have to do a special mention to the braised wagyu beef cheek, which was perfectly cooked and just melts in your mouth. The Foie gras & chicken liver parfait comes in a close 2nd. Its my first time to eat liver spread, and surprisingly I loved it. It’s well seasoned and glides smoothly on the bread. I love how we can eat and seat outside, to enjoy the Hunter Valley sun and wine.
We had a lovely dinner here on a Friday night with friends. The flathead tacos were probably the highlight, but the pizza was decent too. The live music added to the ambience and service was attentive.
Great atmosphere and service. Exactly what you want and expect in the hunter. The tapas selection was well portioned, with amazing flavors throughout! Best lamb chops in the hunter valley, tell your friends!
I wanted to close out our first full day in the Hunter Valley with dinner somewhere fun and unpretentious, but delicious. Goldfish Bar & Kitchen was the perfect choice.
Located in the Roche Estate complex, this bar, restaurant and cool cat hang out is slick. There’s a fun sharing menu to choose from, which stars the likes of pizza, kingfish, pork belly and gnocchi. While the San Daniele prosciutto, with burrata, housemade focaccia, barrel-aged balsamic and black figs was absolutely ah-maze! It was like a delicious deconstructed prosciutto pizza.
Came here after not being organised enough to book a fine diner.

Had the beef cheeks for my main, found it tender and juicy with a great accompanying sauce. (2.75/5)
The crispy skin pork was quite average considering it was essentially roasted with a light creamy sauce and greens. For that price (2/5)
The deconstructed tiramisu was nice and different with the chewy macaroons. (2.75/5)
As well the creme brulè had a unique taste with sweet Gorgonzola! (3/5) for innovation.
This was our first 'modern Australian' it was very interesting and well executed! The kingfish was our favourite followed by the twice cooked pork the consistency of the celeriac side we awesome! And the quirky dessert was a nice finish however the espresso had no crema.

My favourite restaurant here at Hunter Valley. This placed served tapas food, which is designed to be shared.
The menu is quite expensive so I recommend ordering a pizza to share between 2 people or an extra pizza if there are more people.

-Alaskan blue swimmer crab on crispy wonton sheets
-Fish tacos
-Chorizo pizza
All 3 tasted so good. The fish tacos were the bomb and surrounding tables all seemed to order this.
To call it bar food doesn't really do justice to Goldfish. It's better than that. Though the menu might read like a bunch of plates you share with other drunk people, it's executed with finesse, with great ingredients, and with flavour!!
Came here for dinner during our Hunter Valley's stay, lovely place and atmosphere. Food was simply delicious , we shared everything (4 of us), king crab soldiers , carpaccio, pepperoni pizza, barramundi, and wagyu beef steak , everything was super delicious!! Definitely will come back again for sure!

Located in the gorgeous Roche Estate, lunch at Goldfish ensures you are not only treated to delicious food but some simply stunning vineyard views. We went on a perfect sunny day and it was simply delightful sitting with a cocktail in hand out on the terrace enjoying the crisp Hunter air.
The staff are friendly and explain the menu is designed to come out progressively so you enjoy a long grazing feast. Not great if you like a good flatlay for insta, but def great to help you slowly enjoy each dish for its flavours. Here's what we had:
Drinks:
Goldfish blush - gorgeous blood peaches tossed in white chocolate liqueur then topped with moscato. Pink and sweet, my two faves!
Passionfruit mojito - a vibrant affair loaded with passionfruit and perfect for a warm afternoon.
Food:
Crispy fish tacos with battered flathead, lettuce and a nice sauce that had a kick to it. There's only two and they are small but we were thankful for this later as the dishes got bigger and bigger!
Zucchini flowers - 3 done in gorgeous tempura batter and filled with a delicious goats cheese and served with a nice tomato sauce.
Prosciutto and burrata - cue DISH OF THE DAY!!! Wowza! This is a must get for your visit here, it's a huge serving and the flavour combination is insane. A huge knob of burrata, tones of thinly shaved prosciutto, a nice little slaw drizzled in balsamic and some zaatar to mop it all up with. This dish killed it!
Gnocchi with tiger prawns served in a bitey tonato sauce and topped with crispy breadcrumbs which adds a nice texture. Super filling!
Overall a wonderful long lunch was had here! The grazing style is perfect as you'll never want to leave!
Great service at the bar. The cocktails are well made by bartenders that are passionate about making good drinks. Food options are amazing! We had a pizza and pork cutlet. Would go back again.
Goldfish is another quality venue making home in the Roche ampitheatre complex. As the name might suggest, Goldfish was once sister to its now ancestor in the Cross. Both bar and kitchen staff have some serious skills, although the bar their real forte. Although no speakeasy, the place hosts an old-world decor reminiscent of past era and its clear that quality and detailing extends even beyond the food and drinks on offer. The wine list is extensive and pretty well considered.
They've got mixed range of seating from cosy booths and long tables inside, to some undercover vine-laden seating outside overlooking the ampitheatre, so capable of handling crowds if you're wanting to take a big group. They master an espresso martini without being over-sweet, and do some sensational whisky based cocktails.
In the heart of the Hunter Valley within Roche Estate(formerly known as Tempus Two) is The Goldfish restaurant and bar. The restaurant has alfesco dining with a pleasant outlook into the vineyard, with vines also clinging to the pergola, providing shade and giving the feel of enjoing your meal in the vineyard. The internal dining space is suave with a vintage feel, filled with dark wood and leather furniture. The bar taking centre stage, with bottles nicely arranged decorating the space.

More like a bar rather than a restaurant so the atmosphere was quite vibrant with people and music. More of a place to catch up with friends, rather than a couple or family. The tapas read quite interesting on the menu, very modern and creative. Ordered a few tapas and a pizza plus dessert to share. The tapas are quite small servings so it's abit pricey for what it is, but everything in the Hunter is generally. The taste and quality was great so at least we weren't disappointed. The service was chaotic not sure if it was because the staff was new or the ambience distracted them. We had to ask and confirm a few times our order and dishes, and there was mistakes. Overall a place to check out if you wanted to drink and have a small bite to eat, but not a place to sit down and have a substantial meal.
We had dinner here with my parents and our kids, Miss 2 and 3.
The service was great, the bill took a while to come out as they got busy but the atmosphere had us content. We ate at 6:30pm and the meals came out very quickly.
We had some of the pizzas and the pigs ears were a hit. The meat balls and chips were also yum.
We would definitely eat here again.

The environment here for a start is phenomenal great music and atmosphere. Eve. Though the prices are high the food is amazing we went out a a a large group and all had different dishes the general view was to come back here time and time again. A special mention aswell for the cocktails and wine selection varied and vast.
Lovely Monday lunch. Baked brussel sprouts were amazing - could eat them by the bucket load! The Man had the Lamb shoulder pizza and really enjoyed it. Good way to sober up from the wine tastings!

Apparently we were there on a quiet night- it was great to sit up at the bar with relaxed atmosphere- I think that there would be a Drink there for everyone, local Hunter Beer on tap. Recomend.
Perfect place to finish up after a day in the Hunter!!. I have to say I was so pleased to come across the Goldfish on my recent trip to the Hunter. It is a cool bar with great drinks/cocktails and on top of this the food is absolutely awesome. The pork belly is my pick on the menu-melts in your mouth!! The wedges are crispy and tempura veg was really fresh. Would definitly go back when I am next there. Great location too!!!
