What better place to stop for the weekend baked treat. You’ll know you’re up for a good feed by the line outside every weekend. Baked goods are tasty but it’s the donuts that are the winner. The golden gaytime donut is my favorite signature special so far. A winner every time.
This is one of the best bakeries. We drive from Adelaide regularly to spend the day at Port Elliot and our first stop is always Port Elliot Bakery. Great baked goods with excellent customer service, friendly staff. Coffee needs improvement though.
Went for a drive down to Pt Elliot for the day for the views and the bakery. I’ve been here before but I was craving a pie. Pies are serious business. It has to be perfect, and these are really up there. The line-up was out the door and down the street. We grabbed a steak and mushroom, steak and pepper, a sausage roll each and a custard Berliner. The pastry is super buttery and flakey, it’s heavenly. Sausage rolls are my favourite, everything about it is delicious. The pies were great but the mushroom just needed more mushrooms. One of the best bakeries in SA.
People go to Port Elliot just to eat here!. Mention Port Elliot and most people will start talking about the bakery - it is an icon. In summer people are lining up out of the door. The pies and pasties are delicious - my favourite is the cheese and vegetable pasty. The chocolate donuts are also excellent.
Absolutely worth the wait for us! Enjoyed their chicken parcel, sausage roll and steak and bacon pie! The pastry was fresh and the fillings generous. The lines move quickly so don't be disheartened when waiting for your turn. Delicious and will definitely stop by again.
excellent pies and pastries, unfortunately I was veg cause of lent but that too was awesome. all my friends just loved the steak pies, steak and mushroom. I had the mushroom and spinach roll which was the best I have had
Anytime I go to Victor I stop by Port Elliot Bakery. I agree that they are super generous with their meats in their pies so carnivores rejoice! I enjoy their veggie pastries a lot more. I think I need a bit more convincing on the deserts except the black forest donut on special this month - my 2 favourite things in the world.
The buns here are the best on the Fleurieu. Mind you I refuse to line up so when there's a line up, I keep driving. The service is always great. Ssssshhh, I get more than one bun. Don't tell anyone.
This place is pretty much a South Australian legend. Unlike some legends it really does deliver.
First, you will queue. At lunchtime on weekends the queue heads out the door and down the street. Even on a week day there'll be a wait.
But do wait it out, because at the other end is the lightest of flaky pastry, the richest of gravies and the fluffiest of cakes. Yeast buns are light and fresh and their breads are a treat.
Prices are very reasonable and the service is attentive.
Not really set up as a place to sit, but drive two minutes and there can be few finer things than sitting at Horseshoe Bay watching the waves and eating a pasty.
Is it the best Bakery in South Australia? Well it's certainly one of the best.
A gem on the South Coast.

Busy place so expect to queue. The pies and pasties great. The sausage rolls not my favourite, a bit too much meat and flavours not balanced.
