Review Hotel Elliot - Port Elliot

The best birthday lunch I had. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection, well seasoned mashed (both on the chicken and banger) and the sauce was to die for. If you sit outside, at the back of the hotel, you can get a good view of the Cockle Train 🚂

Visited on Australia day, we got our meals quite quickly and service was friendly considering it was a public holiday. I ordered the wagyu steak and my partner ordered chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Would have definitely preferred a larger serving size and more chips for the price we paid and the steak wasn't the best quality. The mushroom & pepper sauce was very good. Overall I would rate our experience a 3.5 and would like to return when it is quieter

Went here for my birthday lunch while we stayed at Lost Retreats - I legit look back at this photo to re-live how AMAZING the food was. I only eat steak from a select few places - this is one of those places.

Seaside, country style Hotel with Front Bar and Front Dining areas able to have their large windows opened up to have a great viewing platform (no pun intended) to watch the Victor Harbor to Goolwa Cockle Train pass by.. Inside dining and a large outdoor Garden Dinner areas here too, along with a small Pokies Room..Just a short walk or drive to amazing South Coast views of the Port Elliot South Coast..

My steak was perfectly cooked, tasty, tender and the plate loaded with piping hot chips - too good! Ice cold draft beer with friendly service and plenty of spaces to enjoy a quiet meal, socialise in a bigger group, dine solo or enjoy the fresh air outside

Food was amazing! Vibe was great, seats can be private if you want. A pretty flexible place. Haven’t got a chance to check out the toilet tho.

As sad as it is to qualify for the Seniors Menu, this one has lots of choices & the serving size is just right. Worth taking the time to wander the streetscape & all the history of Port Elliott too. Really enjoyed our meals.

Busy pub with a good menu, not the most exciting place, but you can get reasonably good food here.

Oily garlic/herb bread, Pizza not bad with plenty of topping but again oily base, Banana Pudding ridiculously small and very bland with only a measly teaspoon of ice cream as an accompaniment. Stomach upset the next day. Wonder why ? Live entertainment loud and was karaoke style at best. Definitely room for improvement. Hopefully these issues are addressed as Port Elliot needs a hotel in the town that delivers good food, good entertainment and good service on a Saturday night during the winter months.

First time visitors to Hotel Elliot and was a little underwhelming. The hotel itself needs to be renovated, we dined in the outdoor area which was nice except for the smoking area right next to it We ordered the scotch fillet with panko crumb prawns ( surf & turf) the prawns, chat potatoes and veg were nice but the steak itself wasn't amazing. We have had scotch fillets elsewhere that were just melt in your mouth & to die for. Quality of the scotch fillet we had cooked medium rare was sub standard. Fatty and a little chewy & for $36 pretty disappointing & really not fair for that price. I felt like we got rump steak quality. Our kids meals were decent size and the kids enjoyed them. We will return again while down here on holiday and give them another chance, hopefully we will be more impressed second time round

Customer service was great I ordered chicken schnitzel with garlic prawn topping, the schnitzel was smaller than my palm and the sauce..... tasted like ery overpowering parmesan with prawns I very much dislike parmesan. I'm.not sure if this was an honest mistake but it definitely was not garlic sauce The chicken itself was cooked nicely Very expensive and my honest opinion the meals are not worth the $$$$ I also expected fresh prawns for the price of $9.90 for the extra topping

Went for dinner on a busy Easter Monday evening. Staff were polite and helpful in slotting a group of two adults and three kids amongst many other large groups. Good selection of starters and mains. Kids meals looked tasty and came out earlier than the adults, always a good move. Oysters were fresh and a decent size, pizza was ok but not great, and the schnitzels are huge with good quality chicken. Skipped desserts as we were all too full by the end. Recommend this place and would go again.
