Interesting dining set up of an old house with tall ceilings. Great wine list for local wines. The food menu is small. But what the do have they do well. I had the seafood plate which tasted nice and fresh. Price is a bit more than your normal restaurant but nothing too crazy.
Staff also cheerful and enjoy a joke.
Blake's is a wonderful restaurant in Port Fairy. The service is excellent and personal, very attentive. The atmosphere is a bit echo on a cold winter, next to a fire place - perfect. Be warn, it is a busy place so do book unless you are lucky enough to have a cancellation.
The food is excellent, one of the best seafood chowder I had. And the pink ling is cooked well. Worth a visit while you are in town.
A quaint and beautiful town. I wanted seafood and Blake's was first on my list. Only spending one night here so I wanted to make sure I get it right and I definitely want disappointed. Great atmosphere, attentive service and excellent seafood. Very fresh, well seasoned and cooked. It seriously rivals most good seafood restaurants in major cities. If you ever get here, put it on top of your list
Lovely service and ambience and the fish of the day was excellent. Oven baked potatoes were disappointing - dry on top of the pile an anaemic underneath. Antipasto platter was pleasant with hummus, babaganoush, arancini, prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes olives and a deep fried thing.
One of those hidden treasures! This was easily the best seafood I've ever had in my life, the price was over $100 for two but you for the food we received it was a bargain.
It was a great setting and so quiet, if you love your food and seafood this is a must.
Just came from the most incredible dinner. My mother and I were on our way to Lemongrass Thai when the sign for Blakes Restaurant caught our eye. It seemed quiet, but we decided to see what it would bring.
Can I just say, we didn't regret our decision once. From the service, to the wine, to the food; everything was incredible. I never order dessert, but the calibre of our main meals (beef fillet and the fish of the day, blue grenadier) changed my mind, and soon had me digging into the mocha pannacotta. This restaurant needs to be recognised as a delicious, relatively affordable option in beautiful Port Fairy. We'll definitely be coming back.
Very tasty dinner here last night. The seafood chowder was superb. Good sized mains, fish of the day and lamb rack and some delicious profiteroles to finish.
Poor lady on front of house was by herself and so very busy, however we had a nicely paced meal and some very good value wine.
If your looking for a front of house job I believe they are hiring!
Coincidentally, there was a cancellation as we called in person to check (as no one was picking up the phone!)
Overall, nice dinner with above average set course meals but not particularly outstanding. Big portions. Friendly service.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Blakes recently.
The chefs wife was very professional and helpful as maƮtrede and we found the food standard well above average . The servings were extremely generous for the price and the lamb rack that I had and fish my wife had were cooked to perfection.
We had the local Riesling from Basalt and it was crisp and dry and delicious.
We are from Sydney and eat out regularly and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
