Excellent service by the team! Go early to get a good seat with the garden view. We told the team we were sharing every dish and they served it already apportioned individually! Splendid experience! The squid ink risotto is a must-have!

This was my second time dining at Rick Steins at Bannisters, this time at Port Stephens and what an amazing experience it was aswell. Was able to book a table last minute for dinner with girlfriends. We were greeted by staff and seated on a comfortable booth. The ambience felt like a romantic vibe with a candlelight and lights dimmed. The wait staff advised of the specials and recommended the Ricotta Agnolotti which was divine, wanting to lick the burnt butter sauce off the plate. The Black Angus Striploin with bordelaise sauce was cooked to perfection, juicy, melt in your mouth. The warm shellfish was fresh with simple herbs, super delicious. It was an entree but was more than enough for a main. The serving were surprisingly large and we had no room to order any dessert. We paired our meals with the Italian Pinot Grigio wine that was recommended, which was light, refreshing and slightly sweet. Thank you to Beryl & Staff at Rick Stein at Bannisters Port Stephens for such a wonderful night. Left full and very satisfied Dine 11 Mar 22

I owe Caitlin a huge thanks for helping celebrating our engagement evening. My partner proposed to me in sunset beach and we didn`t have a reservation or planned for anything at the time. We walked in Rick Stein and had the most beautiful night there. The food was fabulous, so was the service and how sweet was the surprise on the dessert plate by the Rick Stein team - thanks heaps!

We went with some 'basic' seafood dishes; they were all very tasty and didn't cost a fortune. Solid cooking skills well demonstrated.

Visited Rick Stein at port stephens during out stay at bannisters last week. Honestly one of the best seafood dines I've had. You can definitely tell that they take great care in delivering delicious food with the menu changing regularly daily, taking taking advantage of the seafood and produce sourced form the area every day. I appreciate the simple recipes delivered from the seafood preserving the freshness but still packed with flavour. If you ever come out to visit Port Stephen or Nelson’s bay it is a must. What we ordered, Oysters, marinated kingfish, grilled bass strait scallop with XO butter, Pondicherry fish curry, Singapore chilli nelson bay blue swimmer crab, steamed chat potatoes. Highly recommend the Fish curry and the singapore crab and the scallops.

Superb experience. Modern beachfront ambience, attentive service and excellent food. Everything super fresh and tasty. The fish soup was to die for, as well as the swordfish curry and the crab for mains. The panna cotta was just the perfect way to finish the banquet, recommend !!

Wonderful experience! I loved the generous servings, music at the perfect volume and the considerate service. The booth sitting elevated the entire experience - it was so comfortable and pretty. Loved the prawn entree and the coq au Riesling. Thank you for a lovely evening.
