Review College Lawn Hotel - Prahran

We often come here to catch up with friends and watch Rugby on one of the many screens in the hotel. We recently went to the Lawn to watch the Wallabies v England test and booked a table with that in mind. We also had accessibility requirements. They called to confirm our requests and we were not disappointed. Our table was in view of the TV and being able to order drinks and food from the table using a QR code was an added bonus. Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff who are attentive and quick! Thanks, we’ll be back for sure!

We got seated in the courtyard beer garden it's a great place on Mondays they do the locals night and they have $15 specials! 😍 I don't think you have to be a local even though that's the name of the night 😜 Everything is ordered though the QR code very quick and efficient. The only thing was we didn't get offered sharing plates and no one came to see us after dropping the food to see if everything was alright. Apart from that everything was good 😁

We had a lovely mothers day lunch at College Lawn Hotel. The staff were really welcoming. The "paws on the lawn" included four legged family members in the mothers day celebration and was lots of fun. There was a dog groomer on site who managed to transform our shaggy little rascal into a handsomely quaffed little rascal! Thank you to Jess, Laura and all of the staff at College Lawn.

Spent an afternoon at College Lawn out in the front beer garden. Great place to relax and enjoy a drink and food. Staff were friendly and quick to serve. Was met at the door by Tyson who very professional and polite. Totally recommend a visit

Nice spot off of Chapel St, patrons seem like legends. sick vibe. The staff were very nice and had excellent service. The chips made me moan out loud. Very nice plants and interior for a pub that's a great break from the sweatiness of Revs.

Staff were great. Everyone happy. Would be a sick Sunday sesh place. Food was big portions nice beer and the calamari was hands down one of the best I have ever had.

Please see a few of my thoughts regarding this great establishment. ~ Beers out of the taps here are succulent, delicious and refreshing, the taps must be perfectly clean to provide liquid nourishment of this quality. ~The food here is equivalent to ambrosia, the food of the gods, the kitchen staff must be midas touched as everything they send out is made of gold. ~ I honestly have no need for friends or family as the staff here are so warm, welcoming and friendly that all my social needs are instantly fulfilled. Walking through the College Lawn doors is like walking into your home filled with all your loved ones. They love unconditionally. ~ The ambience of this public house/beer parlour is unrivalled among this life and the next. Buzzing conversation intertwined with yarns about people's days. Footy chat mixed with mateship and camaraderie. In conclusion, I would name my firstborn son after this venue and it's proprietors. However that would possibly make him too cool during his lifetime and he would be mobbed as a celebrity forever. So instead I will endeavour to visit the College Lawn every chance I get. I highly, highly recommend you do as well. Signed, a VERY happy customer xx

The food was great! But I highly don’t recommend anyone staying there. Beds are very springy and me and my partner couldn’t get comfy because the beds are just singles pushed together with a rough edge poking us in the middle. Many things I’m not happy about. But the food was great, priced fairly high for someone wanting to save a bit of money.

The Lawn was my local for a number of years up to 2006. It has always been a warm and ambient inner city pub and it was lovely to revisit a place I have so many fond memories of. Yes, the faces have changed over the years but the food and friendly smile that always seems to paint the inner sanctuary of this great establishment remains and I was very happy to once again drink in the atmosphere. When the owner Rick - in the early 2000's moved on to establish his mark on a new hotel in Collingwood, I wrote a poem for him called - "The PUB with NO Rick" and The LAWN was kind enough to display the poem over the bar in the Lounge for a time until I moved north in 2006. My daughter has also maintained a love of this wonderful Greville Street Institution. Thanks for the memories folks :D The Pub With No Rick Well each Friday we gather And charge up our glass, To celebrate freedom The work week has passed, But somehow it’s different We can’t take a trick As we drink at the bar Of the pub with no Rick. It’s a place that has pleasures We’ve all come to know, A place where the banter And friendships do grow, There’s a cultural banquet From bourgeois to thick Round the elegant bar Of the pub with no Rick. When the rugby was playing The crowd was ten deep, The beer flowed like fountains And none of it cheap, But oft' times Rick countered His shout was the trick To win over the bar Of the pub with no Rick. I remember the first time I came to this pub, I was welcomed with smiles A cold beer and good grub, I’ve heard all the jokes Some were funny, some sick As I drank at the bar Of the pub with no Rick. Yes we’ve all come to know him His pub and his beer, His shirts are a legend Though some think them queer, Yet time has marched on Rick’s passed on the stick But we’ll still line the bar Of the pub with no Rick. We enjoyed our lunch here yesterday. Wine selection was good and all three meals were very flavoursome. Service was attentive too. Only criticism is no small after lunch cheese platter. They offer a large antipasto platter for shared starters so could easily adapt it for after the meal. I’ll look forward to seeing it included on the menu in the near future 😁

We recently had a large group dine here (30 people) and it was fantastic. The staff were lovely and super helpful in both organising the night and catering for a range of dietary requirements. We all had a great night and I would definitely recommend!

Our fav casual local pub. Food is consistently good & staff are great. Great beer garden, although I'm too old to go there on a Sunday Had my 40th there and it was a great venue.

Service good, food could be better. Nice location and ambiance. If they improve the food, I'd recommend. Otherwise just enjoy a drink.

Review for the Hostel: Just cancelled my last night here (no refunds given even with the awful experience I had). 40+ degrees with not even a single fan in the room. Roof leaked all over the room and onto my belongings. Management threw away my food. No common space at all. Upside is this hostel can't get any worse so there's that...

We, the Book Photobooth Melbourne Team would like to say a big thank you too all the staff in the College Lawn Hotel! We had set up our photo booth for an Engagement Party in your function room last Friday evening. From what we had observed on the night: everyone from the Bartender, to the Waitresses (who were consistently out on the floor providing delicious finger foods and drinks to guests) and the Security Guards (who were down to earth, easy to chat with and professional) provided overall excellent customer service. Great atmosphere & easy to find parking. As one of the leading suppliers for photo booths in Melbourne, we just wanted to say thank you again for making the night a smooth, easy process. Keep up the great work! ;)

Great pub to watch the footy. Nice selection of beers and bar food. Full of locals so it must be good.

Terrific pub food - tender veal schnitzel, perfectly cooked salmon and delish beer batter flathead and chips. Service excellent - within 15 mins of ordering on a Friday night - waitresses attentive and checked all was OK with our meals. Highly recommend ++

The best Tuesday night steak night in town. I've been doing steak night for over 8 years now and still loving it. Sunday avo drinks in the sun are also hard to beat at the lawn. 🍺👍

We had a catch up of colleagues there last night. Tyler was so helpful in getting our area set up. She allayed any anxieties I had. Food was fine, service good & we had a great night. Thanks so much College Lawn.

We had our work Christmas function in the Greville room on Friday night and all had an amazing time. Special thanks to Tyler who was so organised and accommodating, and Emma our fantastic bartender. Hope to see you again soon!
