3.7. Good bar. Quite spacious once you get all the way out back. Very nice greeting on arrival. Didn’t have the scotch I was after unfortunately - the mighty Laphroaig - but such is life. There’s always something else. Spent a pleasant time with a dram in the courtyard here which is a nice little spot. You can just feel that this place would go off as the night progresses.

Carpe Diem is an unassuming bar on Commercial Road that offers guests a simple proposition – three separate lounges, all serviced with their own bars, including an open air bar out the back. There’s nothing fancy going on here, and the owner want it to be that way.

The bar staff here are always friendly and lovely. Love the espresso martini two for $35 deal. The outdoor beer garden is my favourite, it's set out well with plenty of seating. Great vibe all round!

What a great venue! I had my 30th birthday party here a few weeks ago and it was a wonderful venue and great experience. In the lead up Sarah was so helpful, communicating with me and advising me. On the evening James and Steve were really helpful and provided great bar service. They helped clean up my platters and were friendly. The palms courtyard was beautiful and had a great ambience. The sound system was great with the option of playing your own music!

Had my 21st birthday party in the Palms Courtyard and couldn't have asked for a better night. The venue has a great atmosphere and the courtyard was perfect for my 40 odd friends. James, Sarah and Grim the bartender were very accommodating and helpful, absolute legends! 5/5 stars, thanks guys!

Literally one of the best speakeasy's in the chapel street precinct. Staff are super friendly and service was great! We had a function booked and the owner was super accommodating and prices were really good! Highly recommend for a function or just for a quiet drink with a friend.

James and his team are amazing!!!! Laura was a superstar! Helped me with the set up and all!! I highly recommend Carpe Diem for your functions! James looked after us very well! we hired out the back room for a joint 30th! All the guests were raving about the court yard!

I recently had my 40th in the Palms courtyard on a Sunday afternoon. The ambience was magical with the sun coming through the palm tree and the big open bar. There was plenty of seating for the oldies and we had protection from the gale force winds. We had four seasons that day and James quickly retracted the roof and fired up the heaters as the storm hit. It was marvelous! So a massive thankyou to James, Sarah and the Carpe crew for the warm hospitality and unique and wonderful set up. The tab lasted allot longer than expected too so that was a bonus. Many thanks!!!

Nice bar, had a really good time for a private function out the back area - had a good sound set up to play your own music, drinks were reasonably priced. Wouldn't say I had the best margarita ever but other than that no complaints

Fantastic bar just off Chapel St. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great vibe whether it's to watch footy or just catch up with friends. Court yard is great to relax in too.
