Exquisite food and drink at this new Prahran gem. Reasonably priced for great South American food. Service was very attentive and friendly and menu items were not vast but enticing enough to satisfy the palate. We tried sweet potato & chorizo quesadillas, Carne Empanadas and also shared the Chipotle quinoa salad. Fantastic!! Very tasty and filling. Great place to chill and experience authentic South America food and drink.

Loved this little gem in Prahran. The highlights for me were certainly the drinks, quesadillas and empanadas. Flavour packed and well seasoned. The cocktails were so well balanced and easy to drink. I’m definitely making this one of my locals for a drink and feed!

Absolutely loved this place! They had such a variety on their menu you just can’t go wrong here. My personal favourite was their leek blue corn quesadilla and make sure to try their horchata cocktail.

Sexy new bar Casa NOM is bringing mezcal and sophisticated Latin American eats to the heart of Prahan.

We had a beautiful feast of Sweet Potato, Chorizo & Sweet Corn Quesadillas ($18), Blue Corn Loaded Chilaquiles ($15), Carne Chilli Arepas with Guacamole & Cheese ($20) and Yucatan Plantain Croquettes ($14).
The menu is ~80% Gluten Free with the croquettes being the only non-GF item we got making it great for couples or groups with dietary requirements. I loved the use of unusual ingredients which made for really interesting dishes, for examine their guacamole is made from spring peas!

I am still dreaming about the arepas which were addictively delicious, and the gorgeous cocktails we had to wash it all down. If you’re a fan of Latin American food, wine or spirits you have to check them out!!

I went to this place last night. Really liked the cosy ambience and the music. Ordered three different things from menu and all of them were really delicious and bit different than the usual. Staff was responsive and welcoming.

We had the pleasure to be invited along to the sleek and impressively stocked Casa Nom bar & restaurant in Prahran. Just around the corner from the Prahran station this venue has seating for around 30 and is cosy and intimate.

Without a doubt we had to true the cocktails which delivered on flavour. My Coco Pomelo Sour was an amazing mod on a piscina sour with the inclusion of coconut infused piece and ruby grapefruit. Based on the cocktails we had today you can’t go wrong with these.

Food wise Casa Nom stayed true to its South American heritage with a relatively short menu with many vegan options and majority GF that was good to see. We tried the blue corn loaded chilaquiles which was vegan with the option to beef it up should you desire. I enjoyed this dish, the vegan cheese and the subtle flavours within. I was also a real fan of the Arepas cornbread with a beef chilli and spring pea guacamole. Again this dish was subtle in spice level as I have come to expect from Colombian food.

I was a little disappointed with the empanadas which I found a little dry even when served with a tasty salsa verde and while I expected the plantain croquettes to be quite starchy and dense I found these quite flavourless and definitely in need of dressing up.

Dessert wise we couldn’t resist sharing the Alfajores which was a light almost meringue styled cookie filled with the very caramel dulce de leche. A very very sweet dessert so a good one to share between two or be prepared for that sugar rush.

Overall a great little venue for cocktails and an really vegetarian, vegan, gluton free friendly menu.

We came here unsure of what to expect but loved the ambiance and look of this place. Latin American is definitely one of my favourite cuisine and we had a great time here.

I loved the cocktails here honestly taste and look incredible! The bartender was so friendly which made the experience even more enjoyable.
I recommend ordering the Choripan with chorizo and cheese and a bit of spice in a perfect toasted roll which was like a baguette but small. Also must try the empanadas (we got the traditional) so crispy and comes with a delicious dip. If you love quesadillas then i highly recommend ordering that too, you can’t go wrong with cheesy melts inside.
I would definitely come again, absolutely love this place!

This Latin American delight that is Casa Nom is a new bar opening in Prahran! Serving up tasty Latin American favourites like the mushroom asparagus and leek blue corn quesadillas, it was quickly followed by the delicious Alfajores - South American sandwich cookie filled with dulce de leche and served with home made citrus and marscapone - it was such an amazing dessert, alongside heaps of of other delights! The chilli sauce that accompanied the dishes was so epic I’m pretty sure I had half the bottle! 😂🌶

Casa NOM Bar Y Restaurante is a local Mezcaleria for the agave and Latin American enthusiast. The brainchild of brothers Nicholas and Thomas Welch (The White Oaks Saloon Bar & Dining, The Silverlake Social Bar & Dining & High Spirits Beverages Liquor Distribution), the restaurant is the perfect spot to begin your night amerced in the surroundings and offerings of the south, before crossing the border into Mexico and beyond.

The food menu offers a taste of honest Latin American cuisine which showcases simple, fresh ingredients, bold flavours whilst keeping authenticity central to the taste. The space is slick, yet comfortable , comforting and family-friendly which speaks to relaxing Latin American values. Attentive waitstaff waft around the moodily lit dining area delivering seamless service. On the drinks front, Casa NOM champions the spirits of Latin America – with an emphasis and celebration on the integrity of Mezcal. Casa NOM also showcases the amazing diversity of spirits from other parts of Mexico, and Latin America, including tequila, rum, aguardiente, pisco and cachaça. Offering craft beers, wines, cocktails and spirits (many personally sourced and imported by the Welch brothers from the Americas).

We loved tasting our way through the menu. To start yucatan plantain croquettes whetted our appetites. We loved these traditional Yucatan mashed plantain and raisin croquettes served with tomato salsa. The chorizo and chimichurri chiripan was similarly delicious. A traditional Argentinian sandwich, a fluffy potato bun was filled with spicy chorizo, chloved, oregano, smoked hot paprika, parspey and seasoned with spiced and served with salsa Criolla.

A Latin American feast would of course be incomplete without some empanadas and arepas – both of which we highly recommend when at Casa NOM. The spinah and mushroom empanada was beautifully made. Crumbly Colombian pastry was filled with a flavour laden mix of spinach, mushroom, potatoes and served with salsa verde.

Whatever you do, do not leave without trying the black bean and plantain arepas. These are a thing of beaty. Traditional Colombian bread was topped with balck beans, plantains, jalapeno, and spring pea guacamole. Just yum!

If you're looking for something sweet to conclude your visit, you should not (must not) go past Casa NOM’s Alfajores. This is as close to the real thing we’ve tasted in Melbourne. Traditional South American sandwich cooked served with satiny, creamy Dulce de Leche.

Casa NOM’s is a place to meet, mingle, experiment and most of all to find your inner-Latin!

A must try Latin joint! Excellent cocktails and a great selection of South American Spirits. Empanadas and Arepas were real good but the Choripan stole the show. Just been open for 8 weeks and will definitely be coming for more. Will also be heading over to try their sister establishment bang opposite for their take on the northern side of the continent.

"When people reference 'American food", they often neglect the dishes of Mexico, South or Central America. It's time for Melbourne to reshape what American food looks like. @casanombar is a good place to start.”. I should follow that up by saying that to reshape your interpretation of a cultural cuisine, it’s important to do a bit of research.

I’ve been here numerous times now, and you’ll see why. Casa Nom is a sleek and sexy restaurant/bar, love the green marble countertops and it’s a great date night venue. The cocktails and food are a beautiful representation of Latin American cuisine - my favourites have to be the empanadas, choripan, corn, taco fries. For cocktails, quite enjoy the Coco Platano Colado, Spiked Hibiscus or Horchata and Coco Pomela Sour.

Best empanadas in town!
We loved Casa NOM. The service was outstanding and the staff really friendly. Cocktails were on point and the empanadas were just like the traditional ones we have in Chile. The only comment would be to improve ventilation and noise as it gets a bit loud. Absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend.

Casa Nom is a beautiful new bar situated on Greville Street serving some of the best Latin food I have ever tried in Melbourne.

We tried a huge variety of dishes , some including spring pea guacamole corn chips ,empanadas , Yucatan croquettes , taco fries , arepas stuffed with cheese topped with blackbeans and pea guac and this chorizo hotdog

My favourite dish by far was the arepas stuffed with cheese, this was such a unique dish yet it felt so familiar at the same time . I think I could probably eat my weight in these and I am already planning a trip back to Casa Nom just to eat it again ! The taco fries was also a winner on the table, we ate them like we had no eaten in 3 days, the seasoning on them was insane! The beef empanadas was also a crowd pleaser, they were filled jam packed with the most delicious filling.

Thanks so much for having us !

Awesome place! We came in today (Sunday) for lunch and it was a stunning venue. Well stocked with a huge selection of spirits including Mezcal and Tequila that I tried 4 of and each were outstanding.

The carne arepa’s were a highlight, super tasty, creamy and the beef toppings were very generous,

We next had the carne empanadas and these were delicious. My 5 year old loved his and the accompanying relish was fresh, fruity and spicy.

We had some plantain croquettes where were very different yet nice; but the taco fries were heavenly!! That chipotle sauce was the standout... took us back to Mexico as we lived there last year for just on 4 months and found that not many restaurants back in Melbourne served more home style, authentic meals but here it definitely does.

I’ll be back again!

Casa N.O.M. is a welcome addition to Greville Street and Melbourne in general. While Latin food is becoming a vibe here, there's still not much of it. I love the fact that N.O.M. offers a wide variety of Latin drinks and dishes and that the owners have the knowledge to back it up. While not Latin themselves, they're educated on the cuisines and culture and execute it well.

It's really nice that so many of their dishes are naturally vegan or can be veganised. Bit truthfully, I prefer their vegetarian options as cheese is such an integral part of many Latin dishes. The Columbian-style corn empanadas were a favourite, but the cheese-stuffed and crispy plantain-topped arepa was my absolute top bite. I also really enjoyed the veg blue corn quesadilla and quinoa salad.

The cocktail menu should not be missed here. Most drinks are based around rum or tequila plus interesting additions such as mole or tamarind juice. The spiked horchata is also a must-try. It's a great dessert if you're too full to try the alfajore, although that's also well worth it. If you're an interior design nerd, you'll also enjoy the emerald-hued fitout with thick-peaked stucco ceilings and walls plus soft pink booths.

Prahran’s newest Mexican kid on the block! We stumbled upon this place while we were running errands - their unique logo and branding caught our eye and we were drawn to it! We actually stopped to grab some quick tequila shots and were convinced that this place is legit when it comes to Mexican food based on the tequila range that they have on their shelf. We decided to order the pulled pork tacos that comes in 3’s. It was sweeter than other tacos you can find in Melbourne. We would definitely be back as this place really intrigued us to try their full range of Mexican food on their menu.

Underappreciated South American bar and tapas hotspot. Casa NOM has an extensive list of Columbian, Chilean, and Argentinean cocktails and spirits. Everything from Mezcal to some inventive margarita specials. The prices reflect the quality of the bar. Food is another gem. Not a large variety, but specialising in the meals they offer. The empanadas are crunchy and well cooked and the chilli topped cheese cakes are jawdropping. The black corn nacho bowl with vegan cheese gives a classic a premium twist. Service was great, too. Major issues are the small size of the place and they do not accept MasterCard. Prices aren't cheap, but you're really.paying for quality here. Go out for a South American treat at Casa NOM.
